WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley is one of the most respected wrestlers in the history of the business. Although he has had a ton of success while competing both in and out of the WWE, he noted in a recent interview that his career as a whole does not live up to its current rating.
The former WWE Champion was recently a guest on the Press Slam podcast to promote his “20 Years of Hell” tour in South Florida. This is when he made his feelings known.
“If you ask me where I stand in wrestling history. I think I’m a bit overrated, to tell you the truth.” He stated that he calls it like he sees it as he doesn’t think that some of the matches stand up the way that he wishes that they were.
He did point out that his current tour of one-man shows have exceeded expectations that fans have as he continues to works to make each show better than his previous one. Foley stated that he’s learned the only thing of portraying Santa for so many years is that it’s not the size of the crowd, but rather to create memories for those who attend.
We noted over the weekend that the WWE Network will be airing “Mick Foley: 20 Years of Hell” after the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view on September 16. The show, which was held at the Mr. Smalls Theatre earlier this year, featured a live Q&A as well as Nita Strauss performing Foley’s theme song as he came out to the stage.
This will mark Foley’s second show that will be available on the streaming service of the sports entertainment company. The first season “Holy Foley,” which featured Foley, his daughter Noelle and the rest of the family, aired on the WWE Network in 2016 and lasted for ten episodes.
