MJF’s decision to re-sign with All Elite Wrestling was an easy one for the former World Champion, as he has great faith in the work Tony Khan has done.
Following a six-month absence, MJF returned to AEW programming at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in a confrontation with Adam Cole. MJF also made clear that he will remain with AEW with a ‘Bet On It’ tattoo. The ‘Scumbag’ had spent years teasing a ‘bidding war’ between AEW and WWE over his services, though it appears that MJF’s talk of negotiations was indeed all talk.
MJF Sticking With AEW
While there’s no shortage of fans who would have loved to have seen MJF in WWE, it wasn’t meant to be. Speaking this week to FOX, MJF shared why exactly he made the decision to stick with All Elite Wrestling.
“It was a very easy decision for me, mainly because Tony Khan is paying me an exorbitant amount of money. But outside of that, I believe in AEW and it’s where the best wrestle.”
What’s Next for MJF?
With his issues with Adam Cole seemingly over, MJF has moved into a program with RUSH. On the latest AEW Dynamite, MJF beat Rush and was confronted by Brian Cage after the match. Cage revealed CMLL’s Hechicero and a match against MJF is set AEWxNJPW: Forbidden Door. The show will take place next Sunday, June 30, from the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York.
