— After a one year odyssey, Dolph Ziggler dethroned Kofi Kingston on Friday’s episode of SmackDown to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion. The episode was taped on July 28 in Laredo, Texas.
Ziggler was scheduled to win the title from Rey Mysterio last year, but the former World Heavyweight Champion reportedly refused to drop it to him. Mysterio, however, agreed to drop the title to John Morrison once it had been announced that he violated the company’s drug testing policy.
— On Wednesday, Aug. 11, John Cena will appear at Pentucket Regional High School in West Newbury, Massachusetts to sign autographs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Then, with his brother, he will oversee the raffle of a classic 1969 Chevy Chevelle.
