— Mick Foley stated Wednesday via Twitter that he has been advised to lessen his time in front of a computer due to his history of concussions.

“Strange but true news of the day: two leading concussion experts have advised me to cut back dramatically on my time in front of a computer,” he wrote. “So, I’ll have to make some changes, including the amount of time I spend reading and answering my Twitter messages. Hope you understand.”

— WWE.com had uploaded ten of Hulk Hogan’s “wildest interviews”: “In the heat of battle, Hulk Hogan has said some things that make you go “Huh?” Relive some of The Hulkster’s wildest interviews, where he talks about things like hanging and banging on the Titanic and unleashing The U.S. Constitution on his opponents. You might also find out where the power lies…” (Watch)

Lesnar vs. Orton Scrapped, Big Show & Cody’s Fued, More

– With WWE building towards a Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H match at SummerSlam, it’s been confirmed that plans for Lesnar to feud with Randy Orton have been scrapped.

Details On WWE’s Plans For Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H

– Another employee from WWE corporate has departed. International media distribution sales manager Marcos Milanez recently left WWE for a position in Turner Broadcasting.

– The feud over the Intercontinental championship between Cody Rhodes and the Big show is expected to culminate at next Month’s No Way Out pay-per-view.

WWE’s angle on RAW this week with Cody Rhodes running away from the Big Show and getting counted out is setting the stage for a cage match where Cody can’t escape and has to go toe-to-toe with the 7 foot giant.

As reported earlier this week, a new WWE viral marketing campaign is already underway. The campaign, which states, “A Revolution Is Coming,” has launched on the WWE website and will be pushed more heavily starting on Monday. No word yet on if the campaign will air on television – or whether it is promoting a superstar return/debut, the WWE Network launch or something else.

More On Goldust’s Release, Mason Ryan Joining All World & More

– As reported earlier this week, Dustin “Goldust” Runnels has been from his job as a WWE producer/gent. After rumblings that his release was related to an “incident” at a recent SmackDown taping, the F4W Newsletter is reporting that Goldust booked a dangerous, high-impact spot at the SmackDown two weeks ago, where Yoshi Tatsu took a double-team powerbomb from Titus O’Neil and Darren Young.

– The official theme song for WWE’s Over the Limit pay-per-view is “War of Change” by the band Thousand Foot Krutch.

– To follow up on the news of Mason Ryan acting as Dolph Ziggler’s bodyguard at this past weekend’s live events, the current plan is for Mason Ryan to be aligned with Abraham Washington’s new All World talent agency and for Ziggler to remain with Vickie Guerrero and Jack Swagger.

Heyman Teases Punk vs. Lesnar, Laurinaitis-Big Show, WWE-Brazil

– Paul Heyman was asked by a fan on Twitter whether he’ll be wearing  his trademark baseball cap on WWE television. He replied,  “Not a chance. I’m beautiful and I know it!”

Heyman has been re-tweeting several messages from fans and colleagues since returning on Monday, including one where a fan suggested a CM Punk vs. Brock Lesnar feud.

– Continuing the feud from RAW between John Laurinaitis and the Big Show, Laurinaitis tweeted the following on Tuesday:

“Remember how I said I’d “consider” accepting @WWETheBigShow’s apology for making fun of me? I’m not quite sure he’s sorry enough.”

Considering Heyman’s strong ties to both men, it will be interesting to see the extent of CM Punk’s interaction with Heyman on television – and whether a Punk vs. Lesnar match will be the way WWE gets the title off Punk and onto Lesnar.

– WWE is advertising the following matches for their first-ever live event in Brazil (Sao Paulo on 5/23):

* CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho in a No DQ Match
* John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler

– WWE Champion CM Punk appeared at Tuesday night’s Chicago Cubs vs. Atlanta Braves Major League Baseball game, throwing out the opening pitch and singing “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” during the 7th inning stretch.

Punk friends Lita, Colt Cabana and Cliff Compton were spotted at the game with him. A WWE camera crew was also there to shoot footage for the upcoming Punk DVD set that Paul Heyman is also participating in.

In honor of hometown hero CM Punk appearing at Tuesday’s Cubs game in Chicago, local pizzeria Dimo’s Pizza brought back its Punk-themed “Anaconda Vice” and “Not-At-All-Vegan Go To Sleep” pizzas. They will be available for a limited time, through May 14th.

– To capitalize on the interest surrounding the upcoming WWE Championship match at Over The Limit later this month between CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, Ring of Honor’s official website will be airing the CM Punk vs. Bryan Danielson match from 4/23/04 that took place at “ROH Reborn: Stage 1.”

That match, along with another match between The Briscoe Family vs. The House of Truth, can be viewed tonight at ROHWrestling.com “absolutely free” between 6-8pm (Eastern).

Ultimate Warrior Talks About His 1992 WWF Release: Vince Lied

During a recent interview with Mister Saint Laurent of MLW.com, the Ultimate Warrior talks about Vince McMahon firing him and British Bulldog back in 1992 during the federal steroid investigation. Vince McMahon claimed that Warrior and Davey Boy Smith were released for failing WWE drug tests, but Warrior says that is a complete lie.

“Vince was feeling the heat from the federal investigation in what ultimately became an indictment over the steroid thing,” said Warrior. “It’s another one of those instances where he did what he had to do to protect his foremost interest, which was himself and his business. He made the claim that me and Davey Boy, Davey Boy got let go at the same time, that we had violated the drug policy at the time, which wasn’t true.”

Warrior added that the doctor in charge of WWE’s drug testing policy testified under oath that Warrior was not fired due to failing a drug test:

“We deposed Dr. Di Pasquale, who was in charge [of the drug policy]. We went to Canada and deposed him as part of the litigation and he said it wasn’t true. He was the guy that had the absolute authority in the program to decide who should be let go or if there was a different way of evaluating something. If they saw something on a wellness program test or something, it was up to him. He said he was totally shocked and surprised when Vince let me go and fired me. He never got a reason.”

Jerry Lawler Interview: Being Straight Edge & Never Getting Injured

TheScore’s Arda Ocal (@arda_ocal) recently sat down with WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler. During the interview, Lawler talks about never having a sip of alcohol, never smoking or doing drugs and did he ever feel pressure to do so being in an entertainment business, wrestling vs. announcing and much more. Here are some highlights of what “The King” said about:

How his illustrations gave him his break in pro wrestling:

“I sent the pictures into the TV station that aired the wrestling shows and lo and behold they showed my pictures on TV that week and they called me up for a job – you know how in a courtroom you see an artist drawing people on the stand, well I became a ringside artist for the wrestlers in the ring”

Never having a major injury, especially to his knees, despite never wearing kneepads and performing a second rope fist drop which lands him on his knees almost every match:

“I’m so fortunate do have had a great career doing something that I loved so much I would have payed promoters in the beginning to let me wrestle. Never having an injury is pure luck. We see so many young guys come in and within 6 months of their career they get some sort of career threatening injury, it can happen anytime and I’ve been fortunate to avoid those.”

JR Blog: Heyman’s Return, Austin’s Reality Show, Clay, Miz-Kofi

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is back with another blog update, which you can read in its entirety at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR wrote about:

Paul Heyman’s Return To WWE: “Paul Heyman’s return to Raw Monday night was a pleasant surprise. Heyman’s skills help add star power to the WWE’s franchise broadcast and his role of representing Brock Lesnar is art imitating life to some degree. Heyman’s promo was effective because Paul wasn’t playing a character that he did not ‘feel’ but instead was simply being himself…amplified. The promo was also ‘money’ because Heyman has a legit, emotional investment in the topic on which he addressed.”

Brodus Clay: “My wife is a fan of the ‘Brodus Clay Experience’ as I like to call it and I suspect that many females are. Clay beating a former WWE Champion Monday night was a positive step for the big man who reminds me at times of the Mid South version of the One Man Gang with a little, American Dream mixed into the recipe.”

Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston form RAW: “Could have watched @HEELZiggler vs. Kofi Kingston compete for a much longer period of time Monday night. Both are rapidly evolving in my opinion but not as fast as some fans seemingly want. Patience isn’t so virtuous any longer.”

Steve Austin’s New Reality Show: “Congrats to Steve Austin @steveaustinBSR on his new deal with CMT to star in the new reality show Redneck Island. The new reality show is to begin airing in June and Steve is taping it now somewhere in Mexico, I think. CMT seems to be a nice fit for Steve on cable. For those asking, I do not know how those outside the USA access Country Music Television now known as CMT.”

Backstage News On Paul Heyman’s WWE Return

As we saw on Monday’s RAW from Greensboro, North Carolina, Paul Heyman made a surprise return to WWE as a representative of Brock Lesnar. In his first WWE television appearance since December 2006, Paul Heyman talked about how much things have changed since he last represented Lesnar 10 years ago, said the fans had betrayed Brock Lesnar and read a statement from Lesnar stating that he quit the company.

According to reliable sources, Heyman is scheduled to be featured on WWE television through August, leading up to a grudge match at SummerSlam between Brock Lesnar and Triple H. Paul Heyman will serve as Brock Lesnar’s on-air mouthpiece as a way to keep Lesnar a focal point of storylines without having to use up the limited dates on his contract.

As far as why he came back, it was described as a chance for him to do something new on a limited basis, get his name out, work with some close friends and make some money. At this time, there are no plans for Heyman to be involved in the creative process outside of Lesnar’s angles.

Heyman’s WWE return was put together in the last week and was not something that has been planned during Lesnar’s negotiations, which took place in March prior to WrestleMania.

– Mason Ryan worked as Dolph Ziggler’s bodyguard over the weekend at WWE live events. While it’s not definite that he will be aligned with Ziggler on television, Mason Ryan was shown backstage on RAW along side Abraham Washington’s All World Talent Agency as they watched Ziggler’s match against Kofi Kingston.

Speaking of AW, he tweeted after RAW that he’s decided to hold off on invoking the WWE Tag Team Title rematch clause of Primo and Epico:

“#WWE Being the Mastermind that I am, I’ve chosen to not invoke my clients rematch clause as of yet. Only when the time is right.. #SunTzu”

AW also talked up All World:

“#AllWorld is the definition of #ELitism We are like the first stroke of the Mona Lisa.. The beginning of greatness.”

Ricardo Gets Ticket Speeding To RAW, Live RAW Notes

— TMZ.com reports that Alberto Del Rio’s personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez was pulled over police on his way to Monday’s RAW from Greensboro, North Carolina and was given a speeding ticket.

Rodriguez was going 70 MPH in a 55 MPH zone close to the Greensboro Coliseum attempting to make Raw on time and paid a $200 speeding ticket, which was increased due to him speeding in a construction zone

Perhaps Ricardo was just taking the speeding theme of WWE’s upcoming “Over The Limit” pay-per-view a bit too seriously.

— The live crowd at Monday’s RAW Supershow from Greensboro was said to be hot all night, with John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton and Kane getting big pops from the crowd. Vickie Guererro and John Laurinaitis were the most over heels.

Fans were said to be very surprised when Brock Lesnar’s music hit – and shocked when Paul Heyman walked out instead. There was a “holy sh*t” chant and one fan who wrote in called it a mark-out moment.

What Happened After RAW, Heyman Says Lesnar Owed Millions

WWE.com has posted an exclusive video interview with Paul Heyman, who states that Brock Lesnar is owed millions of dollars by WWE.

– Brock Lesnar’s superstar profile on the WWE website has been moved from the RAW roster to the Alumni section, to sell the storyline that he’s quit the company.

– After Monday’s RAW from Greensboro went off the air, John Cena appeared in front of the live crowd and defeated Kane with the Attitude Adjustment in the dark match main event. Kane tried using a chair during the match but Cena prevented him from using it.

Cena got a huge pop from the crowd and had appeared “from Tampa, Florida via satellite” earlier in the evening during RAW.

Bischoff Responds To Steiner, Reveals New Changes To Impact

During a recent interview with the One Wrestling Show podcast, TNA executive Eric Bischoff addressed Scott Stener’s recent Twitter rants against him and revealed new details about the additional format changes coming to Impact Wrestling. Here are some highlights of what Bischoff said about:

Scott Steiner’s Twitter Rants Against Him & Hogan:

“I know that Scott has been saying some pretty negative things about a lot of different people. I haven’t read them, so I don’t know. I’ve seen a couple of them, some of them have been forwarded to me by people that think that I care. [Laughs.] So, I can’t really comment on all of it, because honest to God, I don’t know everything that he said or the vast majority of it.

Read ALL Of Scott Steiner’s Twitter Rants Here

“I don’t know where Scott’s coming from, to be honest with you. He’s had a long run. He’s 50-years-old, he’s had a great deal of success in the business. I guess being someone who’s also in my 50’s, I kind of look forward — my goal — is to look back on my career and look back at all the positive things. The fact that I’ve been able to travel the world and see things and do things and make a great deal of money and provide security for my family. Make a lot of friends.

“There’s a lot of things that when you’re 50-years-old and you’re at the twilight of your career, you should be looking back on them fondly. You should be embracing the good things. I think Scott is probably going through a little mid-life crisis and realizes that at 50-years-old, it’s time to move aside. Something that he was very vocal about in his 20’s and 30’s. Now that he’s in his 50’s, he’s not so anxious to move aside.

“But, there comes a time and Scott’s time is unfortunately now unless WWE thinks that Scott has something to offer. Scott will probably be wrestling on small independent shows until that doesn’t work out any longer.”

Open Fight Night, Gut Check Challenge & More Changes To Impact:

“In my role as executive producer, one of the things that I really wanted to do — and I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time. My partner, Jason Hervey and I, we’re in the television business and we work with many, many different television networks. In fact, just since we’ve been in TNA, we’ve wanted to produce nine different television series for eight different television networks in addition to executive producing Impact.

“One of the things that we’ve learned in producing different television series for different television networks is that in today’s television environment, format is really king. There is no such thing as a successful television series out there. In any genre — whether it be scripted, reality or action — every successful television show has a successful format.

“Wrestling really doesn’t. Wrestling has been produced much the same way as it always has for the last 15-25 years. What I wanted to do is change that. I wanted to create a very specific format for not only Impact, but for several. So, one of the things we did is that I got together with the creative team and we kind of worked through different formats.

“Week one, which is following the pay-per-view, is what we refer to as a ‘Reset’ format. Which means that we’re really bringing everybody up to speed it they didn’t order the pay-per-view. We have to reset our new stories going forward. I won’t go into the details of that format because you’ve probably seen them many, many times before but there’s a very specific purpose in the format.

“The second one is ‘Open Fight Night’. The ‘Open Fight Night’ format is essentially a format where any wrestler can challenge any other wrestler and the wrestler that’s being challenged has to take the challenge. Additionally, if someone challenges a champion, that world champion has to take that challenge regardless of any other condition. And as part of ‘Open Fight Night’, we’re going to have the ‘Gut Check’ segment.

“The ‘Gut Check’ segment is a segment where an aspiring young wrestler, who really has never been on national television before and is not a member of the TNA roster, is going to get an opportunity to have a television match. If that wrestler impresses the judges enough — and that doesn’t mean he or she has to win or lose, he or she just has to put on a great performance — if that aspiring wrestler impresses the judges, then that wrestler gets a TNA contract.

“So, that’s essentially ‘Open Fight Night’ which includes the gut check challenge. And there’s two others formats but your listeners will probably get bored if I go into the detail of them but one of them is called ‘Name Your Game’, which we’ll be seeing in the next couple of weeks and the other is called ‘Law & Order’. That’s the last episode that we’ll lay down before we go into a pay-per-view.

“So, they’re four different, very specific formats that were designed to achieve very specific results. It was really something that Jason and I brought from our outside wrestling, television experience into TNA.”

Where TNA Will Recruit Talent For The Gut Check Challenges:

“Certainly, some talent will come from OVW. I’m sure a lot of talent try-outs will come from OVW given the relationship that we have with them. But it’s not exclusive.

“There will be other wrestlers, from other parts of the country, who are training at others schools and are not apart of OVW. They will also get an opportunity. … Theoretically, it’s open to anyone. Al Snow is actually the person that’s driving that program and heading up that program. If anybody from anywhere in the world wants to come in and get an opportunity to go to the ‘Gut Check’ on ‘Open Fight Night’ on Impact!, they just have to go through Al.

“They have to be qualified. There has to be a real good reason for us to put them on national television. But, yeah. Anybody from around the world.”

Video: Paul Heyman Returns On Raw – Lesnar Has Quit WWE

Brock Lesnar was extended an invitation to explain his assault on Triple H on last week’s Raw SuperShow, but was nowhere to be found Monday night. Instead, Brock’s representative, Paul Heyman, came out to the ring to read a statement.

Heyman said Lesnar has been underappreciated by the WWE audience since day one, and that holds true with corporate management. Heyman also said that as the only man to ever win the WWE Championship, the UFC Heavyweight Championship and an NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship, Lesnar felt betrayed because his contract demands were not met.

Heyman said Lesnar asked him to appear on Raw and read the statement. In the written address, Lesnar took shots at Triple H, saying the WWE Chief Operating Officer is jealous of him, and expressed anger at how he has been treated. Heyman concluded his statement by saying Lesnar has quit WWE and “will never be coming back.”
