Shotzi Blackheart Returns On WWE NXT

Shotzi Blackheart made her triumphant return on this week’s episode of WWE NXT. Following a tag team match where Fatal Attraction defeated Tatum Paxley and Gigi Dolin, the heels launched a post-match attack on their opponents. The chaos was interrupted by Shotzi, who made a dramatic comeback to even the odds.

Shotzi had been absent from television since February after sustaining a torn ACL during her match against NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria. The injury forced her out of action for nine months, including a missed opportunity to compete in a qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber: Perth event. Her spot in the match was subsequently taken by Alba Fyre.

Before her injury, Shotzi had been a prominent figure in WWE programming. In the summer of 2023, she feuded with Damage CTRL, culminating in a WarGames match at Survivor Series in November. Teaming with Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch, Shotzi secured a victory against Damage CTRL (Bayley, Asuka, Iyo Sky, and Kairi Sane).

Shotzi’s return to NXT signals her reentry into WWE storylines, with fans eagerly anticipating her next steps in the ring.

WWE LFG Match With Evander Holyfield’s Son Was Taped Before NXT

WWE fans are in for a treat as the company begins teasing a new TV show in development. According to Fightful Select, plans for tonight’s NXT event at the Performance Center in Orlando, FL, include taping footage for an upcoming A&E program. Reports suggest the footage may involve Elijah Holyfield, son of legendary boxer Evander Holyfield, who joined WWE less than a month ago.

WWE recently announced a new A&E show, titled “Legends & Future Greats” (LFG), will follow a format similar to Tough Enough. Aspiring professional wrestlers will compete for a coveted WWE contract while receiving mentorship from iconic wrestling legends like Paul “Triple H” Levesque, The Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels. Contestants will undergo intensive training, participate in weekly matches, and gain insight into the behind-the-scenes workings of the wrestling industry.

In addition to the trio of in-ring legends, other notable mentors are expected to include Booker T, Mickie James, and Bubba Ray Dudley. If Elijah Holyfield participates in the show, it will mark his debut as a wrestler, making him a second-generation WWE Superstar. His father, Evander Holyfield, briefly appeared in WWE in 2007, competing against Matt Hardy on Saturday Night’s Main Event.

While WWE has yet to confirm specific details about the show, the concept promises to blend competition, drama, and mentorship, potentially appealing to both hardcore and casual wrestling fans.

RVD Shares Interest In Future Role with WWE Developmental

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam has shown interest in honing the talent of tomorrow and welcoming them into the world of pro wrestling. Speaking on his 1 Of A Kind podcast, Van Dam shared that he’d love to do more with WWE from a talent development standpoint.

“I have some interest…  I could see [myself] doing that, especially with the big welcome vibe. You know, like, ‘You’re welcome here anytime.’ That really encourages me.”

WWE’s newest tactic to bring new talent on board is WWE LFG (Legends & Future Greats.) The A&E-produced show will see wrestling legends team with young contestants, eager to earn a contract with WWE. These contestants (the titular Future Greats,) will participate in weekly matches, and learn the behind-the-scenes workings of the wrestling business. Mentors confirmed for the show include Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, The Undertaker, and Mickie James.

WWE LFG: New Competition Series Coming to A&E in 2025

Van Dam has made several sporadic appearances for WWE in recent months, including being at SmackDown’s return to the USA Network in September. The next month, the WWE Hall of Famer appeared in NXT to share that he’d be at the following week’s show in the 2300 Arena. Inside the legendary ECW venue, RVD backed Je’Von Evans, who’d defeat Wes Lee on the night.

Whether fans see Rob Van Dam as part of WWE LFG, that remains to be seen, but the former WWE & ECW World Champion is certainly interested in doing more. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Rob Van Dam as the wrestling legend continues to tease a closer future with the Sports Entertainment juggernaut.

Tiffany Stratton Competes After WWE Monday Night Raw In Wichita

The action didn’t stop after the latest edition of WWE Monday Night Raw went off the air. The show from Wichita, Kansas, served as the go-home show before WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Raw saw Drew McIntyre address his recent return to WWE programming, as well as a major change made to a championship match at this weekend’s event.

Change Made To World Heavyweight Title Match At Saturday Night’s Main Event

After the show went off the air, fans in Wichita saw two of WWE’s top female Superstars in action. Miss Money in the Bank Tiffany Stratton took on Bayley in a dark match that saw the Role Model get the victory.

Bayley was featured on Raw in an interview with Cathy Kelley, while eagle-eyed fans will have spotted the Buff Barbie. As Seth Rollins was seen backstage walking to the entrance area, Stratton could be seen speaking with Raw General Manager Adam Pearce.

Stratton’s cameo on the show has fueled speculation that she could be making a move to Raw as part of the WWE Transfer Window. The newly-announced program will see talent from Raw, SmackDown, and WWE be eligible to switch brands. On last week’s SmackDown, Nick Aldis was seen conversing with Dominik Mysterio and World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER.

In the meantime, Stratton remains Miss Money in the Bank, and has even teased inserting herself in the NXT Women’s Championship picture. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Tiffany Stratton and her plans heading into the new year.

Change Made To World Heavyweight Title Match At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE has made a significant change to the World Heavyweight Championship match scheduled for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, GUNTHER opened the show to promote his upcoming title defense against Finn Balor at the event. Balor interrupted the segment, expressing his excitement for the match and boldly declaring that he would defeat GUNTHER to capture the championship.

In response, GUNTHER dismissed Balor’s confidence, claiming that Balor wasn’t on his level and never would be. He also referenced their shared history, adding fuel to the brewing rivalry. As tensions escalated, members of Judgment Day moved to confront GUNTHER, but Damian Priest arrived to even the odds.

A chaotic brawl broke out among all three competitors, with GUNTHER targeting Priest while Balor engaged both men. Following the melee, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce appeared backstage to deliver a game-changing announcement: the championship match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event would now be a Triple Threat Match, featuring GUNTHER, Finn Balor, and Damian Priest.

This development adds another layer of intrigue to the match, as GUNTHER has a contentious history with both challengers. At WWE Survivor Series, GUNTHER defeated Priest after Balor interfered and attacked his Judgment Day teammate. Furthermore, GUNTHER originally captured the title by defeating Priest at WWE SummerSlam. The stage is now set for a high-stakes showdown where alliances and rivalries will collide.

TKO COO: ‘Definitely an Opportunity’ For More 2-Day WWE PLE’s

According to TKO Chief Operating Officer Mark Shapiro, the idea of expanding WWE premium live events (PLEs) to two nights is gaining traction. Speaking at the UBS Global Media & Communications Conference on Monday, Shapiro highlighted the potential for more two-day events, citing recent WrestleManias’s success and upcoming SummerSlam plans.

WrestleMania first transitioned to a two-night format in 2020, with WrestleMania 36, and the model has been followed ever since. WWE has already announced its first-ever two-night SummerSlam events, scheduled for New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium in August 2025 and Minneapolis’ U.S. Bank Stadium in August 2026.

Shapiro explained that this expansion reflects a “natural evolution” of WWE’s storytelling and event structure.

“There’s definitely an opportunity for that. It’s all a progression, a natural evolution,” Shapiro said.

Adding that the feasibility depends on factors such as storyline readiness and partnerships with host venues.

With WWE historically spotlighting both men’s and women’s divisions in marquee matches like the Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, and Survivor Series, some fans speculate that two-night events could feature separate showcases for men and women. Gimmick-themed matches for each division could serve as a focal point for such expansions.

WWE’s next premium live event, the 2025 Royal Rumble, is set for Saturday, February 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Drew McIntyre Addresses His Recent WWE Absence

Drew McIntyre made a dramatic return to WWE television last week on Raw, ending a two-month hiatus following his brutal Hell in a Cell match against CM Punk at Bad Blood in October. McIntyre’s return came as a shock to fans, as he closed out Raw with a surprise attack on Sami Zayn.

McIntyre had been sidelined after sustaining a severe head injury during his Hell in a Cell match, caused by a toolbox strike from Punk. The injury left him needing 16 staples to close a wound on the top of his head. WWE opted to give McIntyre time off to recover, but his comeback was accelerated due to Bronson Reed’s recent injury at Survivor Series. Reed suffered an ankle injury during WarGames, leaving him indefinitely out of action and prompting WWE to shuffle plans.

Speaking to 12 News, McIntyre opened up about his time away from the company, citing both physical recovery and personal loss as factors in his absence.

“I had a Hell in a Cell match that was incredibly brutal. During the match, I got hit in the head at one point and ended up needing 16 staples to close a wound on the top of my head,” McIntyre said. “On top of that, I suffered a personal loss in my family, which required me to return to Scotland to deal with it. This made me reevaluate my priorities. I realized I’ve been giving too much to my profession and colleagues, and not enough to my family. After 17 years of dedicating myself fully to wrestling, I’ve decided it’s time to take a step back and focus more on what truly matters to me.”

Despite this reflective tone, McIntyre’s actions on Raw suggest that his in-ring story is far from over. He is slated to address his recent absence and his surprise attack on Zayn on tonight’s episode of Raw, where fans will likely get more insight into his future plans.

WWE Raw Preview (12/9): Rhea Ripley Returns, 8-Man Tag

Tonight’s WWE Raw rolls into the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas and broadcasts live at 8/7c on the USA Network. The build to Saturday Night’s Main Event intensifies as Gunther prepares to defend his Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor, while Liv Morgan faces a tough challenge in Iyo Sky for the Women’s World Championship.

Confirmed matches for WWE Raw, December 9, 2024:

Rhea Ripley Returns and it’s Anything Goes

In her first singles match since recovering from an orbital bone injury, Rhea Ripley takes on Raquel Rodriguez. WWE has announced this match will be “anything goes” rules.

Triple Threat Showdown in the Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament

The tournament to crown the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion continues with a high-stakes Triple Threat Match. Lyra Valkyria, Zelina Vega, and Ivy Nile will clash for a chance to advance, joining Dakota Kai, who advanced last week..

The Wyatt Sicks vs. Final Testament and The Miz

Tensions will boil over when The Wyatt Sicks face Final Testament and The Miz in an Eight-Man Tag Team Match. After weeks of cryptic mind games and physical confrontations, this match could bring clarity—or chaos—to one of Raw’s most heated rivalries.

Plus: we’ll also hear from Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre.

Jesse Ventura to Call 4 WWE Shows Annually: “Handcuffs are off”

Jesse Ventura won’t be restrained at this weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event show, in what will be the first of several appearances for ‘The Body.’ Speaking on the Bill Simmons podcast, Ventura promised to hold nothing back when he returns to commentary for the December 14, event.

“Handcuffs are off, I can say anything I want about anyone. I am very excited about it.

Ventura’s role on commentary at this week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event is a throwback to the original shows of the 1980s, where he also donned the headset. On the podcast, Ventura shared that his appearance this Saturday won’t be a one-off, as he’s set to be a part of the show on January 25, 2025, and beyond.

I don’t discuss finances, but it’s acceptable, and I’ll be doing four a year.”

The WWE Hall of Famer won’t be the only throwback to WWE’s past fans can expect at Saturday Night’s Main Event. WWE has promised to bring “that old school look and feel to Nassau Coliseum” for the show. PW Insider reports that the broadcast will reflect this retro theme, similar to the original SNME shows.

Ventura was at the December 7, edition of WWE SmackDown in his native Minnesota, and with a brand new WWE Legends contract, is ready to work closely with the promotion.

Zilla Fatu Calls Out Solo Sikoa At GLCW Event: “Where You At?!”

Zilla Fatu is ready for a piece of WWE Superstar Solo Sikoa, as the son of Umaga made explicitly clear at a recent event for GLCW. At GLCW Blizzard Brawl on December 8, Fatu defeated Joey Avalon and delivered the Bloodline’s iconic hand gesture after his victory. Going even further, Fatu stared down a camera and asked “Solo! Where you at Solo?” before delivering a Jey Uso-inspired Yeet for good measure.

Fatu has yet to join Solo, Uso, Roman Reigns and the rest of his family in WWE, but speculation remains rife that he will join. Following the announcement of the WWE ID program, many assumed Zilla would be announced as a ‘Prospect’ but that has yet to happen.

What Is The WWE ID Program: Current Prospects Revealed

The idea of Zilla in WWE has been endorsed by his trainer Booker T, who currently serves as an NXT commentator. Last week, Zilla shared that he would back Roman Reigns’ Bloodline over the group led by Solo Sikoa. Reigns’ group, with CM Punk, defeated Solo’s Bloodline and Bronson Reed in a brutal WarGames match at Survivor Series that saw several Superstars injured.

Learn More About The WarGames Injuries: Who’s Out Of Action?

Zilla has not let his future be confined to just his family members, and he has shown interest in facing John Cena as part of the WWE icon’s farewell tour that will kick off next month. It remains to be seen if Zilla Fatu ever becomes a WWE Superstar, but the multi-generational star is ready to bring the fight to Solo Sikoa, should a deal be inked.

Charlotte Flair Trains With NXT & TNA Stars In Latest Recovery Update

WWE’s resident Queen Charlotte Flair is closing in on a return and was spotted training for her comeback this week. In a photo shared to X, Flair can be seen training with NXT’s Shawn Spears and Kiana James (the latter of whom is also out with an injury) and TNA’s Lei Ying Lee (formerly Xia Li in WWE.)

Flair has been out with a serious knee injury since December 2023, an injury she suffered during a SmackDown match with Asuka. The injury forced Flair to miss several major events, including missing only her second WrestleMania since being called to the main roster in 2015.

Charlotte Reveals Her Initial Reaction to Career-Threatening Injury

Charlotte went under the knife in January and has kept fans updated on her recovery ever since. Last month, Flair teased that her return was coming, with a video of a block of ice bursting into the shape of a diamond. Unless she returns to action within a matter of weeks, this will be the first year of her decade-long WWE career without in-ring activity.

Outside of the ring, Flair has been busy with non-wrestling projects, including an indie horror film announced in May of this year. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Charlotte Flair as the Queen of All Eras continues to work hard to make a return to the ring possible.

The Road to NXT Underground

The feud between Lola Vice and Jaida Parker has been brewing for weeks, with their initial alliance against Fatal Influence crumbling into a bitter rivalry. Their confrontations escalated, leading to a brutal hardcore match at the ECW Arena, where Parker claimed victory.

However, Vice was not content to let the matter rest, orchestrating multiple interferences in Parker’s attempts to qualify for the Iron Survivor Challenge.

A Unique Match Format

The NXT Underground Match, known for its no-ropes ring and MMA-inspired rules, provided the perfect backdrop for Vice to showcase her skills.

This marked Vice’s third appearance in an Underground match, following her previous victories over Natalya and Shayna Baszler. The unique format played to Vice’s strengths, allowing her to leverage her legitimate mixed martial arts background.

The Battle in Minneapolis

The match itself was a hard-hitting affair, with both competitors leaving everything in the ring. Parker, coming off a strong year that included a Street Fight win over Michin and a near-miss for the NXT Women’s Championship, proved to be a formidable opponent. However, Vice’s experience in the Underground format ultimately gave her the edge.

Participants and Match Highlights

The match featured Wes Lee, Je’Von Evans, Nathan Frazer, Ethan Page, and Eddy Thorpe in this year’s men’s challenge.

Despite storyline concerns about Thorpe’s participation due to a mysterious attack prior to the event, all five men brought their A-game to the ring.

Implications for NXT Championship

By winning the Iron Survivor Challenge, Femi has earned a shot at the NXT Championship. This victory adds to his impressive resume in NXT and positions him as a serious threat to the current champion, Trick Williams.

Iron Survivor Challenge Predictions

The Iron Survivor Challenge matches are undoubtedly the most talked-about aspects of NXT Deadline. In the men’s division, Wes Lee has emerged as a fan favorite and potential winner.

His recent momentum and ability to play a convincing heel have many speculating that he could be on the path to main event status. Meanwhile, Je’Von Evans and Nathan Frazer are also generating buzz as potential dark horses who could surprise everyone with a victory.

For the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge, Stephanie Vaquer has been gaining traction as the frontrunner.

Her impressive performances in recent months have not gone unnoticed by fans. However, the debut of Giulia in this format adds an intriguing element to the match, given her established reputation outside of WWE.

Championship Match Speculation

The NXT Championship match between Trick Williams and Ridge Holland has fans talking, but not necessarily about a potential title change.

The prevailing sentiment is that it’s too soon for Holland to dethrone Williams, who only recently reclaimed the title from Ethan Page. Many see this match as an opportunity for Williams to solidify his position as a cornerstone of NXT’s future.

Potential Surprises and Returns

One of the most exciting rumors circulating is the potential return of Oba Femi. The former NXT North American Champion has been absent since Halloween Havoc, and fans are speculating whether he’ll make a dramatic comeback at Deadline or if he’s destined for a main roster call-up.
