Zilla Fatu Picks a Side in WWE’s Bloodline Civil War

The Bloodline Civil War remains one of WWE’s most captivating storylines, with tensions escalating between the original Bloodline led by Roman Reigns and the newer faction centered around Solo Sikoa. Recently, Zilla Fatu, a member of the legendary Anoa’i family, revealed which side he would align with if he joined WWE’s ongoing saga.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Zilla Fatu expressed his allegiance to Roman Reigns’ OG Bloodline. Explaining his choice, he stated,

“I might have to go with … Imma break it down why I have to go with him, but Imma have to go with Team OTC baby, Roman Reigns.”

Fatu also voiced discontent with Solo Sikoa’s adoption of the Samoan Spike, a finisher made famous by his late father, WWE Hall of Famer Umaga. “For him to you know … try and take my dad’s move or whatever, I don’t like it, so I’m going with Roman Reigns, whatever he needs, I’m there,” Fatu remarked, suggesting a personal reason for siding with Reigns over Sikoa.

Paul Heyman Believes Bloodline Story Ranks Above nWo, McMahon vs. Austin

The rivalry between the two Bloodline factions took center stage at WWE’s recent Survivor Series, where the original Bloodline, bolstered by CM Punk, defeated Solo’s faction and Bronson Reed in a brutal WarGames match. However, the tensions between the two sides appear far from resolved.

Zilla Fatu, currently carving his path in professional wrestling outside WWE, hinted at an eventual debut in the promotion. With his allegiance to Roman Reigns now clear, fans eagerly anticipate how his arrival could impact the ongoing Bloodline saga.

Cody Rhodes: Bayley Is Our Locker Room Leader, She’s WWE’s Captain

Cody Rhodes may be the face of WWE as the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion, but a different star holds the title of “locker room leader.” In a conversation with Jazzy’s World, Rhodes revealed that Bayley has stepped into the role as the roster’s leader.

“If you got a captain, you know, the C on the jersey, it’s probably her… She’s the locker room leader, and she should be.”

Rhodes also acknowledged his Legacy mentor Randy Orton as another locker room leader, highlighting their shared ability to inject excitement into any show or segment they’re part of. Bayley’s role as a locker room leader underscores the progress WWE has made in promoting equality between its male and female performers over the past decade.

Bayley Remains Hopeful for All-Female WWE Evolution 2 Premium Live Event

Orton has been out of action since Crown Jewel, where he and Kevin Owens brawled, causing their match to be called off. However, Orton made a triumphant return after over a year away at Survivor Series: WarGames 2023, where he was victorious inside the WarGames match. Meanwhile, Rhodes and Owens are set to clash at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

As for Bayley, she also emerged victorious at Survivor Series: WarGames and now has her sights set on the Women’s U.S. Championship. After winning her first-round match, Bayley will face Chelsea Green. The winner will advance to Saturday Night’s Main Event on 12/14 to compete against either Naomi, Tiffany Stratton, Elektra Lopez, or Michin.

Netflix Assures Fans: ‘We’re Totally Ready’ for WWE Raw’s Streaming Debut

WWE fans shouldn’t worry about streaming issues, according to Netflix COO Bela Bajaria, despite the challenges experienced during the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight. The highly anticipated boxing match last month drew over 65 million viewers worldwide, leading to buffering issues as Netflix’s servers struggled to meet the overwhelming demand.

These concerns have raised questions about WWE’s upcoming move to Netflix, which begins with Monday Night Raw’s debut episode on January 6, 2025. Speaking to Deadline, Bajaria explained how lessons learned from the Tyson vs. Paul fight will be applied to ensure a smoother experience for Raw.

“We’ve all obviously done a lot of stuff to learn and get ready for the NFL and Beyoncé at halftime, and so we’re totally ready and excited for WWE.”

Bajaria praised Netflix’s “amazing” engineering team, who “moved super quickly” during the Tyson vs. Paul event to maintain service. WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque shares her confidence, joking that he wouldn’t mind if 65 million fans tuned into Monday Night Raw every week.

The transition to Netflix marks a historic change for Raw, with many details, such as the show’s length, yet to be revealed. However, fans can expect a stacked lineup for the debut episode, featuring top stars like Roman Reigns and John Cena.

Triple H: WWE Is Bigger Right Now Than The Attitude Era

WWE’s current product surpasses all previous eras, including the acclaimed Attitude Era, according to WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque. Speaking at the WWE & Netflix Lunch and Learn event, Levesque responded to a comment from Michael Cole, who described the Attitude Era as WWE’s biggest and most robust era.

“I don’t think that is accurate anymore. I think it’s right now, and I think that the moment that we are going through right now.”

Levesque reflected on being a part of the Attitude Era, emphasizing that WWE today is “way bigger” than anything from the past. The COO, who also oversees creative, offered a name for this era of programming.

“You mentioned the Triple H Era. I don’t think it’s that. I think this, at the end of it, is going to be called the Netflix Era. That’s where the big change is.”

Cody Rhodes Shares His Name Choice for WWE’s Current Era

WWE’s partnership with Netflix kicks off next month when Raw debuts on the streaming giant on January 6. International fans will gain access to not only Raw, but also SmackDown, WWE NXT, Premium Live Events, and an extensive back catalog of content. Triple H Says Jelly Roll Is Eying WWE Match

Triple H has revealed that singer Jelly Roll is eying a WWE match in the future.

The Grammy-nominated artist is a vocal wrestling fan who even made an appearance at SummerSlam this year to give a chokeslam to Austin Theory.

During yesterday’s Netflix media event promoting Raw’s upcoming debut, The WWE Chief Content Officer discussed future celebrity involvement in the product. He specifically mentioned Jelly Roll who has been on a weight loss journey recently, saying that the singer & songwriter is aiming to have a match in WWE:

“I just saw Jelly Roll the other day and he’s still raving about wrestling. Every time I see him, he says the same thing, ‘I got another 100 pounds to go, baby, and I’m doing a match with you guys,'”

The American singer has previously detailed his battle with food addiction and his efforts to lose weight. In an interview with People last month he revealed that he has lost over 100 pounds just this year. The 40-year-old also frequently talks about wrestling, even revealing his thoughts on subjects such as the nuances of storytelling that have helped WWE grow its business in recent years.

Along with Triple H, WWE President Nick Khan was also present at the event. He revealed what rating WWE shows will have when they move to Netflix in January. You can check out his comments here.

John Cena and Eric Andre to Star in Netflix’s ‘Little Brother’

John Cena and Eric Andre will co-star in the upcoming Netflix film Little Brother. According to Deadline, the film’s plot centers on “a famous real estate agent whose carefully curated world is upended when his eccentric little brother unexpectedly reappears.”

The screenplay, crafted by Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, brings this intriguing premise to life, with David Bernad and Ruben Fleischer serving as producers. Additional details, including the rest of the cast, production start date, and release date, have not yet been revealed.

John Cena’s impressive filmography continues to expand. In 2024, he starred in Ricky Stanicky, Jackpot, and Argylle. Past highlights include Blockers, Barbie, The Suicide Squad, Trainwreck, Vacation Friends, and the ninth and tenth installments of the Fast & Furious franchise.

John Cena ‘Really Grateful’ For His Cameo In Barbie

Next on Cena’s slate is the live-action feature Matchbox – a collaboration between Skydance, Mattel Films, and Apple – and the highly anticipated second season of Max’s original series Peacemaker.

Outside of Hollywood, Cena is preparing for his farewell WWE tour in 2025. His final in-ring appearances are set for WWE events such as Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41.

Throughout the year, Cena plans to wrestle at 36 WWE events, marking the culmination of his storied wrestling career. Fans can also watch Cena appear at Netflix’s first-ever Raw episode, airing January 6, 2025, in Los Angeles.

Nick Khan: R-Rated Raw On Netflix Is Definitely Not Happening

Fans eager to see an edgy, hardcore Raw when the show moves to Netflix should prepare to be disappointed, WWE President Nick Khan has warned. Since news of Raw’s move to Netflix broke, speculation has run rife of a more mature product given that the show will not be confined to TV’s content ratings. Speaking at a panel to select media outlets, Khan made clear that an X-rated Raw is not in the works.

“There’s some online chatter about, oh, it’s gonna be R-rated, or for us old folks, like X-rated. That’s definitely not happening.”

Instead, Khan spoke of the show maintaining its “family-friendly, multi-generational, advertiser-friendly programming” that has been a staple of WWE for years. When asked what fans can expect, Khan turned his attention outside of the United States.

“I would look for more global flair, especially as the relationship [with Netflix] continues to develop.”

WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque is playing a large role in Raw’s impending move while maintaining his position as Head of Creative, a role he’s been in since 2022. At the media event, Levesque relished in the freedom he and his team have been given.

“There’s nobody saying you can’t do that. There’s nobody putting a thumb on it… There’s no bad ideas. We’re just all having a blast doing it.”

Raw’s move to Netflix is arguably the biggest change in the show’s history, with many details, including the show’s length, still yet to be made public knowledge. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on WWE’s move to the streaming juggernaut ahead of the debut episode of WWE Raw on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Cody Rhodes Hits Milestone In Winning Streak Over Solo Sikoa

Cody Rhodes is truly proving to be ‘undeniable’ in WWE, especially when the Undisputed WWE Champion shares the ring with Solo Sikoa. After this week’s edition of WWE Raw, the two met in a dark match that saw Rhodes once again emerge on top.

Watch Cody Rodes & Solo Sikoa Battle After WWE Raw

With this win, Rhodes is now 20-0 against the leader of The Bloodline in singles matches, data from Cagematch has revealed. This number includes house shows, dark matches, and matches on WWE TV or Premium Live Events. Solo’s one and only win over Rhodes came as part of a six-man tag-team match at Money in the Bank, where he, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu bested Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton.

This is hardly a good look for Sikoa, who earlier this year declared that “losing has consequences” before ousting Jimmy Uso from The Bloodline. Jimmy had lost to his brother Jey at WrestleMania and (like Solo) had failed to stop Rhodes from winning the Undisputed WWE Title at the two-night PLE in Philadelphia.

At Survivor Series: WarGames, Sikoa once again came up short as his Bloodline, with Bronson Reed, fell to Roman Reigns’ OG Bloodline and CM Punk. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Sikoa and how he plans to rebound from this loss, and his many, many defeats to the American Nightmare.

Layla Would Love A LayCool Reunion

Former WWE star Layla is open to making a return to wrestling before it’s too late.

The former Diva’s Champion was part of the WWE roster from 2006 to 2015. When she departed the company, the wrestling veteran not only took a break from the industry but she left the limelight completely.

The former champion was asked about a potential wrestling comeback now that she is back doing appearances during a recent interview with No Name Wrestling Podcast. Layla admitted that she would love to do something before it’s too late:

“Yeah, now there is. Before, absolutely 100% no. I was not open to anything. I wanted a break. I wanted to get away. But now, absolutely. Before I get too old and I can’t come back and do anything.”

One More Time: Layla

One of the highlights of Layla’s WWE career was her partnership with Michelle McCool. The duo known as LayCool were partners for more than 2 years and they found success together, even leading to Layla winning the Women’s Title.

The 2006 Diva Search winner noted that she would love to have a reunion with Michelle if it’s possible and share the ring with her best friend one more time:

“Yeah, I would…one more time. I would honestly come back to do a LayCool reunion. If that is possible and if that is something that could happen, why not? It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

And we did, we had a lot of fans when we were together. Lay-Cool was a stable for a while…we were together for what, two and a half years, I think. So I would love to reunite with my best friend. I really would. Just one more time.”

The WWE women’s tag team titles have gained a little bit of momentum with the recent reign of Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair. After Cargill was taken out by an unknown assailant recently, however, the future of the belts is in doubt.

With the Royal Rumble PPV coming up in 2 months, it’ll be the perfect opportunity for a LayCool return, with them having a short reign with the championships during the WrestleMania season.

GUNTHER Close To Finalizing New Deal With WWE

WWE is reportedly working to secure GUNTHER, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, to a long-term contract. According to PWInsider, negotiations are in their final stages, with GUNTHER either close to finalizing or having already signed a multi-year deal. While the exact financial details remain undisclosed, this agreement reflects WWE’s commitment to retaining one of its top stars.

GUNTHER has experienced championship success in every promotion he has competed in, and WWE has been no exception. From dominating NXT UK to shining on the main roster, he has consistently proven his worth. GUNTHER’s crowning achievement came at SummerSlam, where he won the King of the Ring Tournament to secure a title shot and subsequently dethroned Damian Priest to claim the World Heavyweight Championship.

Since then, GUNTHER has been a fighting champion, successfully defending his title on multiple occasions. Most recently, he defeated Priest in a hard-fought rematch at Survivor Series: WarGames. His next challenge comes against Finn Balor at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where he aims to continue his dominant reign.

With GUNTHER’s in-ring prowess and growing star power, WWE appears intent on ensuring he remains a cornerstone of its roster for years to come.

Big Update on Becky Lynch’s WWE Return

There are new indications that Becky Lynch is nearing her return to WWE. Last month, PWInsider reported that Lynch is expected to return in time for the Raw premiere on Netflix in January. This suggests that WWE and Lynch are close to finalizing—or have already finalized—a new contract.

Adding to this speculation, PWInsider.com reported today that WWE is holding a significant media event this afternoon at Netflix headquarters in Los Angeles. Lynch is among the talents expected to appear, alongside other major names like Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Liv Morgan, CM Punk, The Miz, and Bianca Belair.

The event will also feature WWE President Nick Khan, Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque, and top Netflix executives, including Bela Bajaria and Brandon Riegg.

Lynch made her first public appearance since stepping away from WWE last month, where she discussed her memoir in Los Angeles. The former WWE Women’s World Champion seems poised for a significant comeback, aligning with WWE’s push to spotlight its upcoming partnership with Netflix.

Lynch concluded her WWE commitments before her contract expired on June 1, opting not to re-sign immediately but taking time off with the expectation of a future return. On her way out, she notably helped elevate Liv Morgan by putting her over in two matches.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event: January Date Slated

The second return episode of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC appears to be set for January 25, 2025, according to wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer. While WWE has not officially announced the date, Meltzer reported that a company source confirmed the timing to him.

The show is expected to air one week before the WWE Royal Rumble, scheduled for February 1, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Meltzer emphasized the pivotal role of NBC in determining the schedule, stating, “The deal is that when they get the date from NBC, that is the date they run. NBC is the higher power in this one.”

Fans are already anticipating the first return episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event, set for December 14, 2024. The event will feature a triple-header of title matches, including Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens, GUNTHER vs. Finn Balor, and Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY, delivering high-stakes action ahead of the January installment.

While the January 25 date has not been officially confirmed by WWE, it reflects the company’s strategic use of major televised events to build excitement for the road to WrestleMania.

Saturday Night’s Main Event Preview (December 14, 2024)

Drew McIntyre’s Dramatic WWE Return Came Sooner Than Expected

Monday’s episode of WWE Raw marked the highly anticipated return of Drew McIntyre, who had been off television since his grueling Hell in a Cell match against CM Punk at Bad Blood in October.

McIntyre sustained a severe head injury during the match, courtesy of a toolbox strike from Punk. The blow left him requiring 16 staples to close a wound on the top of his head. Following the injury, WWE decided to give McIntyre time off to recover.

McIntyre made a dramatic comeback at the end of Raw, targeting Sami Zayn in a surprise attack. Reports indicate that discussions about McIntyre’s return had been ongoing, but PWInsider notes his reappearance came sooner than expected.

According to backstage sources, Bronson Reed’s recent injury at Survivor Series may have accelerated McIntyre’s return. Reed suffered an ankle injury while diving off the top of the cage during WarGames, sidelining him indefinitely.

McIntyre is now set to appear at WWE’s holiday week live events, including the annual show at Madison Square Garden, where fans will undoubtedly welcome his return to action.

Shinsuke Nakamura Mask: Details Behind His Survivor Series Look

Shinsuke Nakamura embraces Japanese culture in his gimmick and it is quite evident from his style. He recently donned a spectacular Kabuto mask at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames PLE.

On social media, artist Jason Baker revealed details behind the creation. In a post on social media, Baker revealed that he, Brian McGuire, and Ambria Pierson were responsible for creating the incredible-looking mask.

Gd2WG8daUAAAjoD

Baker, an accomplished special effects artist with nearly 20 years of experience, has created masks for several WWE superstars including Bray Wyatt’s The Fiend, Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania 40 skull mask and Rhea Ripley’s horror-themed mask also worn at Survivor Series this past weekend.

Follow Jason Baker on Instagram to see more of his work.

Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura recently returned to WWE television and has embraced his darker side. He was immediately in pursuit of the WWE United States Championship. At Survivor Series: WarGames, he challenged LA Knight for the title and emerged victorious. With the title win, he joined a very elite club. Nakamura became the fourth wrestler to win the United States Title in both the United States and Canada.

‘The King of Strong Style’ captured the title for the third time in his career. He put an end to The Megastar’s title run which began at WWE SummerSlam in August when he won against Logan Paul.

Pro Wrestling NOAH pushed Nakamura’s US title win ahead of his return to the promotion when he faces Ulka Sasaki at NOAH’s New Year’s event. The match will take place on January 1st, 2025 at Budokan Hall. With significant changes in Shinsuke Nakamura’s presentation and recent title win, it seems he is trying to reclaim his spot as a top star in WWE.

Drew McIntyre Comments On WWE Raw Return

Drew McIntyre says people should not believe anything they hear about him unless it’s coming from his own channels.

The Scottish Warrior made his surprise return to WWE programming this Monday Night on Raw. He took out Sami Zayn after the Hononary Uce’s loss to Seth Rollins in the main event of the show.

The former World Champion took to Twitter after this segment. He referenced the reports about his hiatus and called out fans for forgetting his words so soon:

“If you don’t hear it from me, live on WWE TV or on my social channels, assume every single thing you hear about Drew McIntyre is BS. Oh, and how soon you all forget?”

McIntyre’s attack on Sami Zayn has multiple layers of story behind it. Earlier in the night, Sami stood up for CM Punk when Seth Rollins called the Straight Edge Star out. Having gone to war with Punk in an intense Hell In A Cell match before his time off, it makes sense for Drew to not be a fan of this alliance.

Apart from his rivalry with Punk, the 39-year-old has a long history with the reunited OG Bloodline himself. Like Kevin Owens, McIntyre spent a long time fighting the group during Roman Reigns’ dominant Undisputed Championship reign.

The big question now is if McIntyre will join hands with other enemies of the OG Bloodline or if he’ll continue his solo run.

Wrestling World Reacts As The New Day Betrays Big E On WWE Raw

During the December 2, 2024, edition of WWE Raw, The New Day as fans knew it came to an end, with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods betraying Big E. The duo argued that if Big E cared about them, he would have been back already from his broken neck injury. Woods claimed that Big E will never be medically cleared and continued to berate his ‘brother’ alongside Kofi Kingston.

This heartwrenching scene instantly went viral on social media, with several wrestlers sharing their thoughts on the matter. Michin, whose sister Kris is dating Big E, is ready to jump Woods and Kingston with her sister after what was said.

Kris Yim also shared her anger over what happened. During the segment, Woods claimed that Big E didn’t care about the New Day, but was focusing on his new projects, new desk job, and his new girlfriend.

Kris also had some choice words for Woods with a nod to his time as the 2021 King of the Ring.

The Final Testament’s Karrion Kross on the other hand, has been waiting for this heel turn for a very long time.

Shane ‘Hurricane’ Helms, who now works behind the scenes in WWE, shared his own experience with dealing with a broken neck after the segment aired.

The impact of this heel turn hasn’t just been felt in WWE. AEW’s Anthony Bowens wanted to see how everyone’s days were going, but now realizes it wasn’t the right time to ask.

And Pretty Deadly’s Kit Wilson couldn’t help but take a sense of pleasure in seeing what happened to Big E this week.

Now, The New Day as fans knew it has ended, leaving questions as to what the future for all three Superstars look like. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Woods, Kingston, and Big E after the shocking betrayal on Raw.

Watch: What Happened With Cody Rhodes After Raw Went Off Air

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes made a surprise appearance after an eventful edition of Monday Night Raw from Angel Of The Winds Arena in Everett, Washington went off air.

Two dark matches took place after the latest episode of the Red Branded Show. Nia Jax was in action after competing in WarGames this past Saturday and she defeated Naomi to retain the women’s championship.

A street fight featuring the American Nightmare was the second dark match of the night. Cody defended his title against the Tribal Chief Solo Sikoa.

The two recreated the viral spot from their recent live event match and Rhodes won after putting Solo through a table:

What Happened On Raw

WWE celebrated the 10-year anniversary of New Day’s debut at the November 2 Raw with Big E making a return to the brand. The night didn’t go as planned for E, however, and he was essentially kicked out of the group by Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

The follow-up to OG Bloodline’s Survivor Series WarGames victory led to Seth Rollins having an intense promo battle with both CM Punk and Sami Zayn.

Rollins would go on to face Zayn in the main event of the show. The Honorary Uce not only lost the bout but he was also taken out by a returning star after the bell. You can check out details of the segment here.

Drew McIntyre made a dramatic return to Monday Night Raw during the December 2, episode of the show with an attack on two of the show’s top stars.

Ahead of the main event, where Sami Zayn faced Seth Rollins, Jey Uso was found attacked backstage. Zayn assumed that Rollins was the attacker, given his issues with The Bloodline. Sami went so far as to grab a chair and threaten Rollins with it during their match, but Seth denied that he was the attacker. Zayn was conflicted and Rollins capitalized on the distraction by rolling him up for the win.

After the match, Zayn stayed in the ring, where he was blindsided by a hooded man who was revealed to be the returning McIntyre. McIntyre hit Zayn with a Claymore and stood tall as the show came to an end.

McIntyre had been missing from WWE programming following his war at WWE Bad Blood inside Hell in a Cell, a match the Chicago-Made Superstar would win. Punk made his return to WWE TV during the Friday, November 22, edition of WWE SmackDown.

With McIntyre back, it appears no face is safe from the Scottish Psychopath, a lesson that Sami Zayn and Jey Uso learned this week. With CM Punk also being on this week’s Raw and not attacked by McIntyre, it certainly appears that their feud is over. Punk brawled with Seth Rollins on Raw, renewing their feud that’s been simmering since Punk’s return last year.

Title Matches Added To WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event On WWE Raw

The card for Saturday Night’s Main Event continued to grow during this week’s episode of Raw, with two huge title matches announced for the show. In our first match of Raw, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez defeated Damage CTRL’s IYO SKY and Kairi Sane. After the match, Rhea Ripley arrived and attacked Rodriguez, but officials quick came out to break up this post-match brawl.

It was confirmed during Raw that IYO SKY will face Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event next week. SKY won a Battle Royal last month to earn the coveted title shot against the Judgment Day member.

Raw also saw Finn Balor questioned about attacking Damian Priest at Survivor Series: WarGames, and Finn said he’d take care of Priest since Dominik Mysterio couldn’t. Later in the night, GUNTHER defeated Mysterio, only to be attacked by Balor after the match, with Finn telling Mysterio to watch how things are done.

Backstage, Finn Balor asks Adam Pearce for his title match against Gunther. The Raw General Manager told Balor that they’ll face each other at Saturday Night’s Main Event with the title on the line.
