WWE star Matt Hardy and former NFL punter Pat McAfee got fans talking while watching Sunday’s Extreme Rules pay-per-view event as they were part of the group featured on Watch Along.
During the broadcast, Hardy connected with a nice kendo stick shot to the back of McAfee. With fans watching on various social media platforms, it created quite a buzz online.
This was done all in fun. You can watch the entire clip below as well as Hardy and McAfee talking about it:
Hardy later wrote, “I want everyone to rest easy & know that after a night of mediocre sleep, I feel a tiny bit better. Even though it obviously hurt me much more than it hurt him, what a great brother @PatMcAfeeShow is. #110YardPunt #YouDontUnderstand.”
News broke in late 2018 that WWE had offered McAfee a multi-year deal and he signed the deal earlier this year. He works NXT Takeover pre-show panels as well as the Watch Along episodes for all WWE pay-per-view events.
McAfee spent his entire professional career as a punter with the Indianapolis Colts. He’s found success in the entertainment world with his roles in WWE, his podcast, and he even called an NFL game last season.
