During today’s WWE quarterly conference call, the official buy numbers were released for the WrestleMania 31 pay-per-view, as well as the first ever Fastlane show and this year’s Royal Rumble.
Of course, we have to take into account the WWE Network factor, with most WWE fans streaming the show through the over-the-top subscription service. That said, it’s still interesting to see such high traditional PPV numbers a year after the Network launch.
The Royal Rumble pay-per-view drew 145,000 buys, down from 467,000 buys in 2014, and 512,000 buys in 2012.
The first ever Fastlane show scored 46,000 buys. The WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, which was the previous name before the switch to Fastlane, produced 183,000 buys in February 2014, and from 213,000 buys in February 2013.
Finally, WrestleMania 31 delivered 259,000 pay-per-view buys. The WrestleMania 30 pay-per-view drew 690,000 pay-per-view buys, and WrestleMania 29 scored 1,039,000 buys.
