Roman Reigns ESPYs

Roman Reigns won the ESPY award for “WWE Moment of the Year” for his return to RAW after battling leukaemia. It was the first time such an award had been handed out at the ESPYs.

Other nominated moments included Becky Lynch winning the main event at WrestleMania 35, Kofi Kingston winning the WWE Championship, or Ronda Rousey winning the RAW women’s title at SummerSlam.

Reigns recently took to Twitter to talk about what the moment meant to him:

Reigns had the following to say at last night’s award ceremony:

“For me just to be able to be healthy was the only award I needed. This is just so flattering for everyone to kind of lift me up and show me that support system and love from everybody,” Reigns said. “It was never about awards or anything like that. It was just about awareness, it was just about sharing my story and hopefully, someone could use it for a little bit of hope.”

Reigns is scheduled to team with the Undertaker at Extreme Rules on Sunday. They will take on the team of Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre.
