A number of superstars such as Randy Orton, The Miz, and Paige have recently signed new deals with WWE but it appears that the former US Champion Rusev is not part of this list.
A fan was venting about the ongoing storyline between Rusev and Lana on Twitter recently and he mentioned how the company is signing people to 5-year deals now.
However, the fan went on to claim that the Bulgarian Brute has re-signed with the promotion and replying to him, Rusev disputed the claims that he has re-signed with the company:
There aren’t many details available about Rusev’s current contract with WWE but back in June, it was reported that his contract would be expiring soon. Though the exact date for the same is not known.
What the former Champion is planning for his future once his contract expires is also unkown but many believe that him re-signing with the company is not very likely.
Rusev originally signed a development contract with WWE in 2010 and after spending almost 4 years in different development territories, he made his main roster debut during Royal Rumble 2014.
He was initially built as an unstoppable monster and Rusev was not pinned by any star in his debut year. However, his career went downhill after his feud with John Cena in 2015 and he hasn’t been able to regain the same status on the roster ever since.
