Ryback In Talks With Another MMA Promotion?

Ryback

It appears Ryback is still looking to become a professional MMA fighter.

The Big Guy announced on a Las Vegas radio show back in September that he had been in talks with Bellator and Bellator CEO Scott Coker later confirmed the talks but noted that they were not close to signing a deal.

The Wrestling Observer is now reporting Ryback had preliminary negotiations with the Combate Americas MMA promotion this week. Meltzer notes that a deal is unlikely because Ryback would be looking for a huge payday and Combate “hasn’t paid big money to fighters.”

Update: Combate Americas CEO and UFC co-founder founder Campbell McLaren disputes Meltzer’s claim that their organization does not offer big money for fights. In fact, McLaren says that Combate Americas President Alberto El Patron was offered $1 million to fight for them.

As for the source of the Observer report, it might be this tweet from Combate Americas fighter Joel Paredes. Earlier this week, Paredes tweeted the following to Ryback:

It was noted back in September that Ryback’s decision to fight comes down to money, not the desire to fight like CM Punk had when he left WWE.
