It appears that the fan-favorite introduction for Chelsea Green is now a thing of the past.
Samantha Irvin’s Special Ring Announcement Nixed
Fans were quick to notice that Samantha Irvin introduced Chelsea Green’s name on RAW without giving it her usual inflection. It appears that this was not her call to switch things up at all.
Sean Ross Sapp noted on Fightful Select that a WWE higher-up made the call to nix Chelsea Green’s unique ring introduction. At this time, some people are fighting for the introduction to return, but it hasn’t happened yet.
We followed up on Samantha Irvin noting that it wasn’t her call to scrap the special Chelsea Green entrance. We’re told that word backstage was that the direction came directly from a WWE higher up and many were pushing for it to return.
Samantha Irvin Speaks On Special Chelsea Green Introduction
During an appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Samantha Irvin previously commented on her special introduction for Chelsea Green. She said, “It’s just her. She came back, and her attitude and everything, it’s just so sassy, I love it.”
WWE fans will likely keep an ear out during Chelsea Green’s next ring announcement. Samantha Irvin also gives her own flair to other Superstars like Ludwig Kaiser and GUNTHER, so we have to wonder if that unnamed WWE higher-up will make a call to nix those introductions as well.
