There is only one WWE NXT Women’s Champion and that’s Shayna Baszler.
This was a key match in the women’s division as Baszler has been a top champion since winning the title back at the Evolution pay-per-view event in Long Island, New York at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in October.
On the flip side, BelAir has been a rising prospect in the division while making a name for herself while picking up big wins to get herself in this spot.

Baszler successfully retained the NXT Women’s Title against the young challenger at Saturday’s (January 26, 2019) WWE NXT TakeOver: Phoenix event at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on WWE’s streaming service.
This was a fresh feud for the NXT Women’s Champion and will be interesting to see where it goes from here. Either way, BelAir has a lot of potential and great backing from the WWE fans. They put on one heck of a match that delivered.
What are your thoughts on Baszler retaining the title? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.
