The main event of next month’s WWE Survivor Series will see WWE Champion Jinder Mahal vs. WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.
The build for this match over the next several weeks will determine if WWE can capture fan interest enough to make this a suitable headliner, but the most intriguing contest will be the men’s RAW vs. SmackDown team elimination match that is the focal point of the ongoing ‘under siege’ storyline.
According to PWInsider, RAW General Manager Kurt Angle will be returning to the ring once again on November 19th as the captain for Team RAW. Team RAW will consist of:
- Kurt Angle
- Roman Reigns
- Finn Balor
- Braun Strowman
- Samoa Joe
That’s one hell of a team, but Reigns’ involvement is currently up in the air as a result of the undisclosed medical illness he’s currently battling. wWE officials are optimistic that Reigns will be cleared in time for Survivor Series, but that’s the current plan.
On the SmackDown side, the blue brand’s captain will be commissioner Shane McMahon. Team SmackDown will consist of:
- Shane McMahon
- AJ Styles
- Randy Orton
- Shinsuke Nakamura
- Bobby Roode
The prospect of Kurt Angle mixing it up with the likes of Shane McMahon and AJ Styles once again makes this arguably the most intriguing matchup for next month’s big PPV.
