Coming into this match, WWE RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon had promised that Strowman would be able to get a match with Baron Corbin should he help his team win this battle between both brands in order to find out which was superior in the company.
At last year’s show that went down on November 19, 2017, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, Team RAW (Kurt Angle, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, and Triple H) defeated Team SmackDown (Shane McMahon, Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, Shinsuke Nakamura, and John Cena).
Back in 2016, it was Team SmackDown who prevailed over Team RAW. This was the third straight year that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon had decided to do the brand vs. brand theme for one of the big four events of the year of the year for the company.
It should be interesting to see where WWE officials go from here with the fallout of this match. WWE will close 2018 with the TLC pay-per-view event on Sunday, December 16th, 2018 in San Jose, California at the SAP Center. After that, it’s the road to WrestleMania.
