The Big Bossman (Ray Traylor) will be immortalized during WrestleMania 32 weekend when he joins the WWE Hall of Fame.
The former corrections officer from Cobb County, Georgia is widely regarded as one of the most agile big men in WWE history. During the early 90’s he had memorable feuds with the likes of Mr. Perfect, Ted DiBiase The Mountie and Nailz.
He jumped to WCW in 1993 and would portray a slew of comically bad gimmicks, including The Boss, The Guardian Angel, Big Bubba Rogers eventually uner his real name. Bossman returned to WWE during the height of the Attitude Era in 1998, where he participated in some of the most amazingly cringeworthy moments in company history.
There was the time he tricked Al Snow into eating his deceased dog, Pepper. Or that time he interrupted the funeral of the Big Show’s father, struck Big Show with a car and then dragged the casket with the Big Show on top of it. He was also sacrificed in the ring (via hanging) by The Undertaker.
Sadly, he died of a heart attack on September 22, 2004, aged 41 at his home in Dallas. Georgia.
For all the bad gimmicks in WCW and the wacky shenanigans of his final WWE run, Bossman was a tremendous worker and a childhood hero to millions during a simpler time in the business.
On Saturday night, April 2nd from Dallas, Texas, the WWE Universe will be servin’ hard time one last time.
