The December 18th episodes of AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT are shaping up.
First up is the Dynamite episode, which set up AEW World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho take on Jungle Boy. The match was booked when Jericho came out for a promo alongside Jake Hager on Wednesday’s show.
Jericho talked about how had to have one more match before the year was up and was even allowed to pick his opponent. This led to him pulling out a list of names that he wouldn’t wrestle on the show in two weeks.
Jurassic Express came out to the ring and Jungle Boy challenged Jericho, who thought Jungle Boy couldn’t hang with him for ten minutes. Jungle Boy slapped him as a result.

On the flip side, we have NXT. Rhea Ripley vs. WWE NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler is now official for the show with the title being on the line.
Ripley was supposed to wrestle Dakota Kai on Wednesday’s show but Mia Yim came out instead and brawled with Kai. Eventually, Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir attacked Ripley until she passed out in the Kirifuda Clutch.
After the match, Baszler granted Ripley her request for a title shot and was booked for the December 18th episode.
Also, Adam Cole will defend the NXT Title in two weeks against the winner of a #1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match that takes place next week between Keith Lee, Finn Balor, and Tommaso Campa.
