UFC president Dana White again answered questions about the highly anticipated fight between Brock Lesnar and Fedor Emelianenko that never happened, despite a strong push by everyone involved in 2009.
“Brock wanted that fight. Brock wanted that fight bad,” said White at the UFC 166 pre-fight media scrum on Thursday. “We made every big fight with every fighter since we bought this company. You don’t think we wanted to do Fedor vs. Brock Lesnar? I f’n wanted to make that fight so bad.”
When asked if he regrets never making that fight happen, White noted “It’s not even that I regret it. Dude, when I tell you that we did everything – someday I’ll tell you the story of how much we offered. People will f’n sh*t. It made no sense. It’s one of those type of deals.”
