Former UFC Interim Welterweight Champion Colby Covington will have a special walkout song playing before he steps into the Octagon.
The UFC star asked and was later granted permission by WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle to use his iconic theme song.
MMA expert Ariel Helwani shared the news and told the story by noting that the song is popular because fans loved to chant ‘You suck!’ in the middle of the theme song. This is exactly what Covington wants fans to do when he walks out to the Octagon.
Covington is slated to fight former Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler in the main event of UFC Newark. This show takes place on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and will air on ESPN.
Covington has won six straight fights. Covington was last seen when he captured the interim welterweight championship by defeating Rafael dos Anjos in June 2018. However, he was later stripped of the title due to inactivity.
Angle has mentioned interviews that he signed a contract to remain with WWE in a backstage role to work with the younger talent.
