The general perception within the industry right now is that SmackDown is seen as a lame-duck show until it switches over to the USA Network in January of 2016.
WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry Lawler previously hinted that the show may move back to Friday nights and become a live show, however we have yet to hear an update on that being the case. There has been talk of debuting SmackDown on the USA Network with a live Tuesday night special.
After SmackDown is moved to the USA Network next year, the show will likely be booked as an “all hands on-deck” show, similar to RAW.
