Vince McMahon Absent From WWE SmackDown, News On KOTR Match

Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon isn’t backstage at tonight’s (Tue. August 27, 2019) SmackDown Live TV event. This is according to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, who noted that the WWE Chairman and CEO has been going over script via the phone this afternoon, working with creative.

This comes after McMahon missed last week’s TV events for both RAW and SmackDown Live. It’s been reported that the reason for this is due to him preparing for the XFL announcements on team names and logos, which came on Wednesday.

Aside from what has been announced, there’s no word yet on what WWE has planned for tonight’s show.

Alvarez did note that the current script has the Chad Gable vs. Shelton Benjamin King of the Ring match going for 12 minutes. Obviously, that could change.
