WWE is expected to go all out for next month’s SmackDown 1000 episode at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC. In addition to The Undertaker being advertised for the show, WWE Hall of Famer Edge is also booked to appear. No word yet on what Edge’s role will be, but there’s a good chance it will involve his former tag team partner Christian.
The last time that Edge and Christian were backstage at a WWE event was back in May for the Backlash pay-per-view in Newark, New Jersey. The former WWE tag team champions did not appear on camera, but were reportedly there working on the upcoming season of their WWE Network series, The Edge & Christian Show.
The belief is that WWE is planning to load up the show to the point where they will bring in several stars from the past and the show will be similar to RAW 1000 back in 2012.
As noted, the official website of the arena is currently advertising a ‘Triple Main Event’ for the episode. Those matches are:
- AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe
- Daniel Bryan vs The Miz
- Randy Orton vs Jeff Hardy
SmackDown 1,000 takes place on Tuesday, October 16th, 2018.
