WWE RAW (11/11): The “YES!”
The Main Event, Rey Returns and The Shield vs The Wyatts
When I attended the WWE Hell-In-A-Cell Pay Per View and WWE Raw the next night in Orlando FL, I had a big chip on my shoulder. I was none too pleased that Daniel Bryan was being taken out of the WWE Title picture.
I was happy however, that it appeared that the Wyatts were going to get a high profile feud with both Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. At the time of that Raw 3 weeks ago. I had made a prediction that Daniel Bryan CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Golddust and two more would take on The Wyatts & The Shield at Survivor Series, in a traditional elimination match. It turned out that, the match would end up happening on The Raw before the Survivor Series. So I was close, but now I have flight and a ticket to Boston this sunday and a 7 on 7 divas match to look forward to instead. Are you able to read into my sarcasm?
The main event was electric. Everything that should have been saved for the Survivor Series. So while the lack of this match will hurt the Survivor Series, this damn sure was #BestForBusiness on Raw. The Shield / Wyatt family tease is exciting and something new, and I hope WWE cashes in on this at the right time and right place, because that is a match I want to see in the future. (Please dont’ mess this one up WWE!)
The return of Rey was unexpected and answered the question who the mystery partner will be in the Traditional Survivor Series Match between the Rhodes Brothers & Usos, now with Rey Rey vs The Shield and The Real Americans.
Big E. Langston Wins the Intercontinental Championship
How ironic the first time I can remember the WWE ever doing the in-ring introductions post-entrance for an Intercontinental Championship match, and low and behold the championship changed hands. (Smirk)
For several years any championship beside the WWE Championship has been treated with disrespect, with the champion losing damn near every non-title match. (See: Dolph Ziggler, Curtis Axel, Alberto Del Rio, heck even Damien Sandow with his briefcase.)
Big E. is hot now, his theme music has been remixed, and he’s on a rocket push. Let’s hope it stays that way, and perhaps this title will mean something. Although don’t expect the in-ring introductions
for the IC belt again anytime soon.
The Real Americans Vs The Miz & Kofi Kingston
The Miz turned heel on his partner Kofi during this match, but what I really enjoy is seeing The Real Americans week in and week out, have some good matches. It’s no doubt that Claudio is the MVP of the group. Watching Claudio…er..Antonio each week is awesome, did you see there was a Cessaro section? The crowd is getting louder and louder each week saying along with Zeb Colter “We The People” which only means one thing. WWE will take that away, or perhaps turn the group babyface. Knowing the WWE, they will take the first option.
