Seth Rollins, Big Show, Kane & Randy Orton Kick Off RAW

This week’s show opens with Byron Saxton, JBL and Booker T being shown at the commentary table. Saxton explains why he’s out there instead of Michael Cole. He tells us that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are on vacation and won’t be here this week.

After some highlights from WrestleMania 31, we see Big Show standing next to the commentary table alongside the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy. Inside the ring is Seth Rollins, Kane and J&J Security.

The fans in Austin, Texas boo Rollins as he tries to begin speaking. The fans won’t quit boo’ing so Big Show tells everyone that this is our champion and to show some respect. He enters the ring. Rollins talks about HHH and Stephanie being on vacation this week.

“You sold out! You sold out!” chants fill the arena as Rollins says, “I really, really thought we were over this, guys!” Rollins brags about some of the records this year’s WrestleMania broke, but the biggest take-away from this year’s WrestleMania is that “The Authority always wins.”

He talks about some of The Authority’s accomplishments at WrestleMania 31. He talks about Triple H beating Sting. He talks about Big Show winning the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. He tries to come up with something for Kane, but stutters and says “….and Kane …Kane was there! Kane was there, too! Yeah!”

Big Show takes over and thanks Rollins. He says he’s no longer under Andre The Giant’s shadow. He says he’s the greatest giant of all-time. He says everyone in WWE is now under his shadow and then puts over Rollins for ending the night at WrestleMania this year by becoming the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Show sucks up to Rollins some more and then introduces him as the champion to the fans in Austin.

As Kane tries to take his turn talking he is interrupted by Randy Orton. “The Viper” makes his way out and stops at the top of the stage. Orton says Rollins won the title at WrestleMania but he also lost to Orton after he hit the greatest RKO of his career on him. The fans chant “R-K-O! R-K-O!”

Rollins tells Orton that he always sees things like the glass is half empty. Orton says he’s not complaining, he’s telling it like it is. He says he beat him at WrestleMania and he deserves the chance to beat him again, but this time for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. “Wouldn’t that be best for business?!” Orton says to the crowd. The fans cheer.

Orton asks the “Director of Operations” Kane if he thinks that’s a good idea. Kane doesn’t say anything so Orton mocks him by asking if he needs to ask “mommy and daddy” first. Kane says he is the Director of Operations and tells Orton that unfortunately for him, there are other Superstars in consideration. He says tonight there will be a triple-threat match to determine the number one contender who will face Rollins at Extreme Rules. The match will feature Roman Reigns, Ryback and Orton.

Kane vs. Randy Orton

Kane says each of those three will compete in singles competition before the triple-threat main event tonight. He says Orton’s match is next — against him. Rollins complains off-mic to Kane as Orton makes his way down to the ring. The Authority clears out of the ring, all except for Kane, who is waiting for Orton to enter the ring. The announcers sell the announcement that was just made as the bell rings to make this one official.

Kane and Orton duke it out from the bell, with Orton establishing early control. It doesn’t last long, however, as Kane knocks Orton off the top rope and out to the floor as Saxton takes us to our first commercial break of the evening.

When we return from the break we see Orton headbutting his way out of a bear hug. Orton fires away with punches as the crowd cheers him on. Kane cuts Orton’s offense comeback short as he floors him with a big boot to the face and then goes to work on him in the corner.

Kane continues to deliver punishment until Orton catches him coming off the ropes with a quick body-slam. Orton follows that up by blasting Kane with his draping DDT off the middle rope. Orton turns into “Viper mode” and waits for Kane to get up. Kane realizes this and slides out to the floor, however Orton follows him out and blasts him with a clothesline and then back-drops him across the top of the barricade. Kane grabs a chair and nails Orton with it in the mid-section so the referee calls for the bell.

Winner via DQ: Randy Orton

After The Match

After the Lilian Garcia announces Orton as the winner by DQ, Kane drags Orton into the ring. As Orton gets up, Kane goes for a chokeslam, however Orton avoids it and reverses into an RKO attempt. Kane avoids the RKO and slides out to the floor and retreats up the ramp as Orton’s music plays.
