Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman Kick Off RAW
The Monday, June 22, 2015 edition of WWE RAW kicks off with The Beast Incarnate himself, along with his advocate, as Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are in the ring.
Heyman, as Lesnar’s typical spokesperson, addresses what transpired last week when the duo returned to WWE RAW.
From there, Heyman turns his attention to the announce team, where Lesnar exits the ring to head to. Lesnar starts with JBL. He shakes JBL’s hand. Now he turns his focus to Michael Cole.
Lesnar approaches an apprehensive Cole, who has his head down in shame and fear. Lesnar extends his hand to Cole. Lesnar grabs Cole in a headlock and gives him a noogie. He sits Cole down and pats his head like a dog as the fans cheer wildly, before Lesnar re-enters the ring.
Heyman says that after what Lesnar just did with the announcers, his client has fulfilled the terms of his return, which was to apologize to them. Heyman says on their behalf that they accept Lesnar’s apology.
From there, Heyman turns his attention to Lesnar’s next victim — WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Heyman goes on to talk about some of Rollins’ accomplishments, including sneaking his way into becoming WWE World Heavyweight Champion by cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase during Lesnar’s match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.
Heyman warns Rollins that he has an all-expense paid, one-way ticket to “Suplex City …bitch!” The crowd pops huge for that. Heyman says the WWE Universe is dieing for someone to beat Rollins. Heyman promises that Lesnar will do exactly that.
Lesnar’s music hits as he and his advocate — Heyman — exit the ring and head up the ramp and to the backstage area. On that note, we head to our first mid-match commercial break of the evening.
Dean Ambrose vs. Kane
When we return from our first commercial break of the evening, “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose makes his way out to the ring. Out next is his opponent in this one-on-one contest, Kane.
The bells sounds and here we go with our first match of the evening. Early on, the bigger and stronger Kane uses his power to dominate the former Shield member until eventually the speed game becomes a factor and “The Lunatic Fringe” takes over control of the offense.
Ambrose knocks Kane out to the floor and once back in the ring, hits a big leg-drop off the top rope while Kane is hanging over the middle rope, ala Rampage being knocked out by Wanderlei Silva in their second PRIDE fight. MY apologies for the non-universal reference.
“The Lunatic Fringe” continues to go to work on the big red monster as we head to a mid-match commercial break.
We’re back from the break and while Ambrose is still delivering some offensive punishment, it doesn’t take long before Kane takes control of the action.
Kane delivers some additional punishment until Ambrose starts taking over control of the match. As Ambrose sets Kane up for his “Dirty Deeds” finishing move, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins’ theme music hits to cause the distraction to Ambrose.
Ultimately, this leads to Kane hitting Ambrose with a chokeslam. 1-2-3. Kane wins. After the match, we head to our next commercial break of the evening.
Winner: Kane
