WWE Reportedly Wants Steve Austin To Interview CM Punk

WWE is reportedly interested in having CM Punk appear on the WWE Network as a guest on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions. Austin’s first episode of the show aired last night on the WWE Network after Survivor Series and featured an interview with the Undertaker.

According to a report from PW Insider, there is said to have been a great deal of discussion backstage over Survivor series weekend about the possibility of Punk appearing on Steve Austin’s show. It is not yet known if anyone from WWE has reached out to Punk regarding possibly doing the show, however.

Punk’s first advertised appearance on WWE Backstage was last Tuesday and resulted in the show increasing from 100,000 viewers to 180,000 viewers.

Steve Austin Comments On CM Punk Role on WWE Backstage

Austin recently spoke to the State of Combat podcast about Fox hiring Punk for WWE Backstage:

“Just the fact that he’s returned to be doing business with WWE, I love, because I don’t know, they split up on bad terms, and now they’re back in business together,” Austin said. “CM Punk was a lights out pro-wrestler, great promos, great work, great talent, so to have him back in the fold, obviously, I guess they ironed out whatever they need to iron out, and both sides are happy, so it’s great to have CM Punk back in the pro-wrestling/sports entertainment business. It’s a breath of fresh air because the guy brings a great perspective, great insight, and great opinion on all things sports entertainment.”
