– Macleans.ca has an article up about WWE titled, “WWE Keeps On Rolling … In Cash” that looks at WWE’s international expansion to new markets, including China. WWE’s Senior VP of International Operations Ed Wells was interviewed for the piece and said the company’s growth in China has consistently been in “double digits” since 2007.
Their popularity in China is so strong that that there’s talk about bringing in a Chinese character to the roster. “We’d love to have a Chinese star,” Wells said. “And we’re certainly open to working with Chinese talent.”
– Today is the final day of WWE’s 3-day talent recruiting camp in Southern California. Aside from Jim Ross and Gerald Brisco, Mark Henry and William Regal among the WWE superstars in attendance as well.
– Michael Cole is the latest WWE personality to speak up on Twitter about CM Punk’s attack on Jerry Lawler from RAW: Despite their differences over the years, Cole tweeted the following in defense of his broadcast partner:
