This week’s episode of SmackDown was the go-home show for Sunday’s WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 PPV. Shane McMahon had a confrontation with Kevin Owens in the main event and WWE Champion Jinder Mahal beatdown Shinsuke Nakamura with the help of the Singh Brothers to kick off. The Usos and New Day hyped up their match inside the cell this Sunday and Natalya tapped out Charlotte via the Sharpshooter.
The final episode of SmackDown before WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 only managed to bring in 2.323 million viewers, which is down from last week’s 2.542 million views. SmackDown was #9 in viewership for this week, behind MLB on ESPN, Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Fox News Tonight, The Five, The Story, Fox & Friends and Special Report. SmackDown was #3 in the 18-49 demographic, trailing the MLB and American Horror Story.
Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown brought the lowest amount of viewers since mid-June.
