For the third straight year, WWE has decided to bring back Starrcade for a special live event.
Dave Meltzer noted in the Daily Update on F4Wonline.com that WWE has said that they expect to make an announcement very soon about the event. The announcement could come as soon as Tuesday.
It was noted that the expectation is that it will be a WWE Network special with a likely date of November 30th. As of this writing, there’s no word if the whole show will air or just certain matches as done in previous years.
Currently, WWE’s schedule has an event listed at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, but WWE only confirmed the imminent announcement of Starrcade.
WWE brought back the theme for a live event at the Greensboro Coliseum in November 2017.
The 2018 version took place on November 24th from Cincinnati, Ohio at the US Bank Arena.
Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported at the time that the 2018 event drew 8,000 fans. This was an increase of attendance for what typical house shows are doing from a numbers standpoint.
This show was a success not only at the live gate but also on WWE’s streaming service as it was the most-watched show of the week on the WWE Network.
