It was revealed during the main event segment of Monday’s WWE RAW from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York that John Cena would defend his WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan in the main event of the upcoming WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view.
Cena was awarded the right to select his own opponent for SummerSlam by new RAW General Manager Brad Maddox. Cena left the decision up to the WWE Universe, who ultimately made it clear they wanted Bryan in the spot.
