WWE To Hold TV Events At MSG For First Time In Ten Years

MSG

As expected, WWE has officially announced their return to Madison Square Garden in New York City.

It was reported a few months ago that the company would hold TV events for their flagship show, Monday Night RAW, on Monday, September 9 and SmackDown Live on Tuesday, September 10.

This will be back-to-back TV events at the arena, which marks the first time in ten years that WWE has aired one of their television programs from the arena. WWE last held a TV event at MSG on November 16, 2009 for an episode of RAW.

WWE officially announced the news with this video featuring SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley encouraging fans to register for the pre-sale., which you can watch here:

The Ticketmaster pre-sale will be announced soon. WWE last held an event at MSG when they ran a live event on December 26th. These are always special shows as it’s considered a bigger house show due to the history of the arena and the decades that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has called it home.

These TV events will be held just a few days before AAA’s Lucha Libre tour takes place on September 15, and a week before New Japan Pro Wrestling holds an event at the Hammerstein Ballroom on September 28.
