Hangman Page Statement On Joining AEW Tournament

AEW’s Hangman Page has released an official statement. The rather official-looking document is printed on branded letterhead as well. It addresses his entry into the AEW World Champion #1 Contender tournament.

“After deep contemplation, about half a bottle of Scratch Bourbon Whiskey, and chucking a dozen watermelons at a red oak out of the back of a pickup, ‘Hangman” Adam Page has decided to enter the single-elimination tournament to decide a number one contender to the All Elite Wrestling World Championship,” his statement reads.

Page then listed off a few of his reasons for entering the tournament including:

“The tournament could provide ‘Hangman’ Adam Page with his first opportunity to challenge for the AEW World Championship since his catastrophic and embarrassing loss to Chris Jericho at All Out 2019.”

It appears Page dictated the statement to someone and this person was unable to make out some of his comments.

“As a child, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page (unintelligible – the voicemail devolved into a slurred monologue with the occasional yell, followed by two minutes of silence).”

Page then listed what he will be doing to prepare for the tournament. These included the following:

“‘Hangman’ Adam Page will continue to wear a mask while in public, wash his hands, and social distance to avoid contracting COVID-19 to preserve the integrity of his lungs and his character.”

The finals of the tournament will take place at Full Gear. Page’s full statement can be viewed in the Tweet below:

AEW Dynamite In Jacksonville Still On Despite Coronavirus Ruling, Adam Page’s Funny Statement

AEW Dynamite In Jacksonville Still On Despite Coronavirus Ruling

For now, the latest location for next Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite episode on TNT is still on.

There have been several changes within all industries due to the coronavirus pandemic. Originally, AEW was going to run Rochester, NY next week for their weekly television show but it was moved to Jacksonville, Florida at Daily’s Place.

On Friday, Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry announced that the city is suspending all events and gatherings at city facilities. This decision came after the COVID-19 outbreak hit Duval County this week.

TIAA Bank Field, which is one of the impacted venues on the list, is connected to Daily’s Place, the location of where Dynamite will be held.

After the announcement by the Mayor, this caused speculation as to whether next week’s Dynamite episode would take place. However, Dave Meltzer provided an update as to where things stand right now.

He did so when he reported on Twitter this afternoon that Wednesday’s episode is still on for Daily’s Place in Jacksonville.

“Just a note from AEW, Wednesday’s show at Daily’s Place is still on. Things are still having to be worked out as far as details go but it will have to be without fans,” Meltzer wrote.

Adam Page Shares Funny Changes

Adam Page took to social media to address the ongoing virus. It’s supposed to be a funny press release, which it is.

It actually notes in the header text, “Typed onto a piece of paper by an AEW errand boy at the drunken behest of Hangman Adam Page”. You can read it here:

Kenny Omega & Adam Page Retain AEW Tag Team Titles At Revolution

Kenny Omega and Adam Page will, in fact, keep the AEW Tag Team Titles.

Omega and Page took on The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson) at the AEW Revolution pay-per-view event. This is where Omega and Page successfully retained the titles over the fan-favorite tag team.

AEW booked a Tag Team Battle Royal on the February 19 episode of Dynamite in Atlanta, GA. The stipulation going into the match was that the winners would become the new #1 contenders for the straps.

The Young Bucks vs. SCU vs. Private Party vs. Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus vs. Best Friends vs. Santana & Ortiz vs. The Butcher & The Blade vs. Jack Evans & Angelico vs. Alex Reynolds & John Silver vs. Cima & Michael Nakazawa were featured in the match.

The Young Bucks ended up winning the contest. Thus, earning the right to challenge for the AEW Tag Team Titles against Page and Omega at AEW Revolution.

Page and Omega beat SCU for the titles on the January 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite that was taped the night in the Bahamas on the Ship of Jericho on TNT.

Hangman Page Reveals He Has Written A Kids Book

All Elite Wrestling’s Hangman Page has revealed he has written a kids book. The book is entitled ‘The Elite Team: Adam and the Golden Horseshoe’ and is slated for release on Sunday, May 24th via Trism Books at $16.95.

According to the official synopsis, the book will follow Adam as he attempts to track down a legendary Golden Horseshoe:

“Adam’s faded second-hand guitar never left his side. He played it at home. He played it at school. He even slept with it. As Adam and the rest of the Elite Team practiced their talents, Adam felt overshadowed by his friends. He just wasn’t good enough… When he heard about the legend of the Golden Horseshoe, and its charm to make champions, he knew he had to find it for himself. But on his quest, Adam finds more than just the horseshoe. Will he finally find the champion within himself?”

Page shared the news on his Instagram page, announcing “i have written a book” alongside an image of the front cover. The illustrations for the book were done by Dylan Coburn.

Hangman Page isn’t the first Elite member to have written a kids book. Cody Rhodes has previously released ‘Cody Heart of the Mountain‘. Matt and Nick Jackson have also released a kids book called ‘Young Bucks Stand Tall’. The Young Bucks recently announced they will be releasing a memoir, ‘Killing The Business’.

Adam Page is scheduled to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championships with Kenny Omega at AEW Revolution. They face their Elite stablemates The Young Bucks. The event takes place on February 29th at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

Kenny Omega & Adam Page Win AEW Tag Team Titles On Dynamite

The AEW Tag Team Champions SCU will not remain on top of the division as they have been dethroned by Kenny Omega and Adam Page.

Page and Omega beat SCU for the titles on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite that was taped on Tuesday night in the Bahamas on the Ship of Jericho on TNT.

All Elite Wrestling set up this contest last week when Omega and Page defeated Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent) (w/Orange Cassidy) and Proud-N-Powerful (Ortiz & Santana) and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) in an AEW World Tag Team Title #1 Contendership Four Way Match.

As a result, it surpassed Page and Omega to the #1 spot in the AEW tag team rankings and earned them this title match.

SCU won the AEW Tag Team Titles when the promotion held the finals of the Tag Team Title Tournament on the October 30th episode of AEW Dynamite in Charleston, WV at the Charleston Coliseum. SoCal Uncensored beat The Lucha Bros to win the titles.

Adam Page Gets Victory Over PAC In Rematch At AEW Full Gear

Adam Page vs. PAC presented a different style of a match to entertain fans.

At the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event, Page went over PAC in a singles match. This marked the first loss for PAC under the AEW banner.

https://twitter.com/AEWrestling/status/1193345777944481792
https://twitter.com/brlive/status/1193345934484213760

This match was originally slated for the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25, 2019. However, plans changed.

There was an angle done at a WrestleGate show in Nottingham, England involving PAC and Page earlier this year to present the match that had been built up because the match didn’t take place at Double or Nothing.

Page agreed to fly to England and do the match to make up for the hyped match. It was released on YouTube. At the time, it was reported that it was nixed due to creative differences and PAC was pulled from the card.

At Double or Nothing, Page drew the Joker card in the Casino Battle Royale allowing him to enter at lucky number 21 where he would win the contest and become a competitor to wrestle for the chance to become the first-ever AEW World Heavyweight Champion. He lost to Chris Jericho at All Out.

Adam Page Segment Set For AEW Dynamite Debut Episode

All Elite Wrestling has announced another segment for their Dynamite premiere show on TNT that features Adam Page.

The promotion confirmed his appearance with the question of what will Page have to say. This appears to be a play on how his last match ended under the AEW banner.

Chris Jericho Says AEW Promos Will Be Totally Unscripted

Jericho beat Hangman Page to become the first World Champion under the All Elite Wrestling banner in the headliner of the All Out pay-per-view event last month.

This match was set up shortly after the first AEW pay-per-view event, Double or Nothing.

This is where Page drew the Joker card in the Casino Battle Royale allowing him to enter at lucky number 21 where he would win the contest while Jericho beat Kenny Omega.

Starting Wednesday, October 2 in Washington, D.C., at the famed Capital One Arena, AEW will begin airing live two-hour weekly matches on TNT at 8 p.m. ET. The show will take place in different cities across the nation each week on Wednesdays.

Here is the updated card for the premiere episode:

  • Chris Jericho & mystery partners vs. The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega.
  • Nyla Rose vs. Riho to crown the first AEW Women’s Champion
  • Cody vs. Sammy Guevara.
  • Jon Moxley to appear

Chris Jericho Becomes Inaugural AEW World Heavyweight Champion At All Out

The inaugural AEW World Heavyweight Champion has been crowned and that’s Chris Jericho.

Jericho beat Hangman Page to become the first champion under the All Elite Wrestling banner in the headliner of the All Out event.

This match was set up shortly after the first AEW pay-per-view event, Double or Nothing. At this show, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart made a surprise appearance to present the title for the first time for fans to see.

Earlier in the night at Double or Nothing, Page drew the Joker card in the Casino Battle Royale allowing him to enter at lucky number 21 where he would win the contest.

In the headliner of that same show, Jericho was victorious over Kenny Omega in a classic match.

AEW did an angle to further promote this match at the AEW Fight for the Fallen event in Jacksonville, Florida. It happened when Jericho attacked Page after his match against Kip Sabian.

Jericho came out of nowhere while wearing a Dark Order creeper mask to attack Page with the Codebreaker then took off his mask and rained down kicks/punches to his next opponent.

Chris Jericho Thinks AEW All Out Will Be Adam Page’s “Coming Out” Party

Chris Jericho will be competing against Hangman Page during the main event of All Elite Wrestling’s next show, All Out. The two will clash to crown the inaugural AEW Champion.

Speaking with Busted Open Radio, Jericho commented on how he has helped to elevate Hangman Page to the next level.

“He looks like a million bucks, he wrestles great, his promos are getting better. How do you make him a star? Put him in the ring with Chris Jericho. How do you make him a bigger star? Put him in the ring with Jericho in a match for the first AEW Championship.”

He continued, “This is Hangman Page’s coronation. This is his coming-out party. I’m really excited about it. I’ve seen enough of him that I know, this is the type of guy that we want on our roster, and we’re gonna build him into a bigger star in one night than WWE has built any star they’ve had in six months.”

With so many established wrestlers Jericho could have feuded over the championship with, he believes that Page was the right choice over Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, or Jon Moxley in order to build more top talent for AEW.

As far as he’s concerned, this one match will see Page assert himself as a main event player going forward, turning him into more of a star in one night than his entire career to date.

Adam Page Explains Reason Why He Decided To Sign With AEW Over WWE

Adam Page has the chance to become a big star under the AEW banner but that almost didn’t happen as he could’ve signed with WWE.

“Hangman” recently appeared on Busted Open Radio where he revealed that it was an easy decision for him to go with AEW over WWE. Page started out by talking about how he felt like he made it far enough in his career and stable enough that maybe money isn’t the most important thing.

“With All Elite I felt that I had the opportunity to do something huge for my career and just to have fun with my friends.” He stated that he wanted to provide something for other wrestlers as AEW wouldn’t have the same exposure without the top stars.

“It was something we decided to do together. It was an easy decision.”

There are some who believe that Page joined AEW because he knew he could become a top star due to Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega being executives. However, Page made it clear that wasn’t the case as it wasn’t part of his decision making at all.

Chris Jericho Shares Photo Of Nasty Bruise On Adam Page’s Face

Hangman On Signing For Right Reasons

Instead, going to AEW, he didn’t expect to end up in the main event and not why he signed with the company.

“I didn’t think, ‘Oh, if I sign up to do this with my buddies, I’m sure to be a top guy.’ That wasn’t a thing at all and the least of my concerns, really.”

Over the last two years, Page has elevated his game and been pushed into a more prominent role while being a member of the Bullet Club in ROH. That hasn’t changed since he signed with AEW.

Paige will compete for the inaugural AEW World Heavyweight Title against Chris Jericho at AEW All Out.

Chris Jericho Shares Photo Of Nasty Bruise On Adam Page’s Face

Chris Jericho has shown off the nasty bruise that he left on the face of Adam “Hangman” Page following their latest angle.

Jericho attacked Page after his match against Kip Sabian at the AEW Fight for the Fallen event over the weekend in Jacksonville, Florida. Jericho came out of nowhere while wearing a Dark Order creeper mask to attack Page with the Codebreaker then took off his mask and rained down kicks/punches to his next opponent.

Jericho posted a photo of the bruise that Page suffered during this attack today on social media, which you can see here:

During the latest episode of Being the Elite titled “Backstage at Fight for the Fallen,” footage is shown of Page being treated by the medical staff and being informed that he will need stitches. You can watch the full episode here:

This angle was done to promote the upcoming match that will see Jericho and Page share the squared circle to compete for the inaugural AEW World Heavyweight Title.

This match, which could end up serving as the main event, will take place at the All Out pay-per-view event at the Sears Centre Arena in Chicago Hoffman Estates, Illinois on August 31, 2019.

Adam Page Discusses Knee Injury Ahead Of All Out Match With Chris Jericho

Adam Page is slated to face off against Chris Jericho to determine the first-ever All Elite Wrestling (AEW) World Heavyweight Champion. The two will compete for the honor at AEW’s All Out event.

Page recently competed during AEW’s Fyter Fest, winning a Fatal 4 Way against Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Jimmy Havoc, and Jungle Boy. This win saw him earn even more positive momentum with his match against Jericho on the horizon.

After the match, he caught up with Alex Marvez backstage and addressed his health status ahead of his championship opportunity.

“Yeah, knee’s good,” informed Page. “Knee’s 100% healthy, healthy as a damn horse, I’ll say this time for sure. Knee’s good, I’m looking forward to it. A lot of training to do between now and then, but 100% healthy.”

Before All Out, however, Page will have another matchup against Kip Sabian. Their bout takes place at this coming Saturday’s Fight For The Fallen show.

Fight For The Fallen takes place on July 13th from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida.

Fight For The Fallen Card

  • Kenny Omega vs Cima
  • Cody and Dustin Rhodes vs The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)
  • Brandi Rhodes vs Allie
  • Adam Page vs Kip Sabian
  • Jimmy Havoc, Darby Allin, and Joey Janela vs MJF, Sammy Guevara, and Shawn Spears
  • SoCal Uncensored (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) vs Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix)
  • Sonny Kiss vs Peter Avalon w/Leva Bates

Hangman Page Reveals If He Considered Going To WWE

Adam ‘Hangman’ Page is one of the stars who built his brand working for various indie companies before joining the upstart promotion All Elite Wrestling.

However, during a recent appearance on State of Combat podcast, the former NJPW star claimed that WWE was also an option for him at one point and revealed why he didn’t join the promotion.

Page first revealed that he had negotiations with WWE and it was an option he heavily considered. According to him, everyone at the company was very pleasant with the talks and negotiations.

Continuing on the topic, Hangman also claimed that the company put a lot of effort in trying to hire him and they were after him more than most of the other promotions.

Though he decided not to join the company because it didn’t feel right at the time and while everyone wanted to grow up and become a WWE Star one day, it wasn’t a goal for him anymore.

Apart from this, Hangman Page also talked about choosing AEW as his new home and said that knowing that he can be fulfilled creatively and that he can contribute to bettering wrestling is more rewarding than anything else could have been.

Adam Page is currently scheduled to face former WWE Star Neville aka Pac at the upcoming Double Or Nothing event from MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 25th.

Hangman Adam Page Announces The Full Gear Challenge

If you’re a fan of Being The Elite, you know AEW star Adam “Hangman” Page needs to tone up his physique and should not be walking around in ‘full gear.’

Page knows it too, thanks to Cody’s relentless hazing. In an effort to get himself (and wrestling fans) in better physical shape, Page has announced the Full Gear Challenge.

With less than three months until AEW Double or Nothing, Page wrote on social media, “For the next 89 days I’ll be documenting my journey to get in shape here on my Instagram. Whether your goal for DON is to lose some weight, add some mass, or to somehow do both at the same time, I hope you’ll join me.”

He’s encouraging fans to share their progress using the hashtag #fullgearchallenge.

Page added, “No more pancake ass or chubby cheeks. We can do this together.”

Adam Page has a lot of work to do if he plans on being ‘full gear ready’ by late May. But it’s a commendable effort on his part.

WWE Reportedly Made Offer To Bullet Club Member Recently

We noted before how Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks talked about their impending free agency on the latest episode of their YouTube show Being The Elite.

The episode also featured a segment where Bucks gave Adam ‘Hangman’ Page a pair of cowboy boots with a note that read “Nice Try. If you want to be an assassin, try being more cerebral. – H”.

While this BTE segment involving the NJPW Star was considered just a fun take at the beginning, a latest report reveals that there is more to it.

During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the latest BTE and revealed that WWE had actually made an offer to Adam Page recently.

According to his WWE sources, Adam turned this offer down. Though a different source says that he simply told officials that he didn’t want to sign with them right now “because it’s not the group and the group’s sticking together.”

Although this doesn’t mean that the door for Page’s WWE debut is closed completely and as we reported before, Cody Rhodes recently stated that it’s pretty possible the Bullet Club will end up in WWE once their current contract is up.

Cody and the Young Bucks are expected to become free agents at the end of this year, and we should get more information about the future of the Elite in the upcoming episodes of their YouTube series.

Adam Page Discusses Possibly Signing With WWE, Bullet Club Pact

Adam “Hangman” Page recently did an interview to talk about various topics as well as promote the ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view event at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada that takes place this Friday.

He spoke with Chuck Carroll of CBS Sports to discuss the pact made by some members of the Bullet Club (Cody, Page, and The Young Bucks). When asked how they came up with the decision that when their contracts expire in a few months, they will take the next step together as a unit.

“I think as a collective, as a group, we have been able to change wrestling… I think, as a group, we are really on to something, and I think we wanna continue this. It would be a real disservice to everyone who has supported us and got us to this point if we were to abandon what we’ve built.”

Page continued by stating that it doesn’t mean it can’t evolve and change but he thinks that they have too much of a good thing going to try to abandon it. He also stated that they know that they have more leverage than they ever had and have more than anyone else has had in a very long time.

WWE Next Stop

The belief is that the group with either stay with NJPW and ROH or sign with the WWE. Paige thinks that they are not necessarily bound to where they work and he feels that the most feedback comes from fans who watch Being The Elite.

Which could conceivably happen anywhere. It could happen … You catch my drift. So I don’t want to, at any point, rule anything out. If you kinda catch my drift on that one.” Paige continued by stating that right now, they have some time and weighing options together as there are some things that sound more or less intriguing than other options. He added, “those options have changed and will continue to change and evolve in the coming months.”

Joey Ryan Reveals What Happened After Adam Page Left Him For Dead

There has been a significant development in the mystery surrounding Joey Ryan’s disappearance. Ryan had been presumed dead and Bullet Club’s Hangman Page even confessed to having murdered him.

Ryan then returned at All In, however, and attacked Page after his match against Joey Janela.

https://twitter.com/JoeyRyanOnline/status/1036704028854349824

On the recently released episode of Being the Elite, Ryan explained what really happened to him after Page left him for dead.

What Really Happened To Joey Ryan?

Ryan revealed that while he had been badly beaten by Page, he was still alive. His wife soon found him and helped nurse him back to health. His wife then put him on a strict training regimen.

“I started out weak, with barely any strength in my body,” Ryan said of his initial recovery. “As time went on, because of my courage, I started to get stronger. Also, the steroids helped.”

After taking steroids to recover, Ryan then revealed he had to hide from the public in order to pick the best possible time to get his revenge on Page.

“I was my old self again but I had to fake my own death and hide from the public,” Ryan continued. “Even when I saw someone else (Stephen Amell) falsely accused of my murder, I had to be patient. I had to pick the perfect spot to avenge what happened to me and I wouldn’t come alone, I’d bring an army with me!”

Ryan then continued to say what type of army it was he would bring with him to All In.

Cody, Kenny Omega, Young Bucks & Adam Page Pledged to Stay Together Next Year

Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Adam Page have made a pledge to stay together next year, no matter what.

On Wednesday, a media conference call was held to promote next weekend’s All In event and the weekend-long Starrcast convention. I had a chance to participate in the call and there was a pretty newsworthy statement made by Cody about the Bullet Club members behind All In.

When Cody and the Bucks sold out a 10,000+ person arena for All In in less than a half hour, you can be sure it got on WWE’s radar. When Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling sold out Madison Square Garden in a matter of minutes, many fans were left wondring the same thing. Which of the performers involved will WWE attempt to sign, in an effort to suppress the momentum of the Bullet Club, ROH and New Japan?

Cody Rhodes was asked what’s next for his gang after All In on September 1st. Cody said he does not know where he (and the others) will be working next year. However, he did reveal that he, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Adam Page have made a ‘verbal commitment’ to each other that they will stick together no matter where they wind up.

“As far as what’s next, I really wish I could answer, ” said Cody.  “A lot has happened in the last few weeks. A lot of discussions about the future. One thing that’s special about this, and I have to be rather cagey in answering, one thing that is special about this group is we have verbally committed to each other and I don’t know that that’s ever been done in the history of professional wrestling, where I have verbally committed to the Bucks, the Bucks, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page.”

He continued, “There’s this verbal commitment that the next step we take because it’s no secret.  Our contracts are all up…what happens next?  The next step we take, we’re going to take it together and we’re going to take it as a family.  It could be the dumbest move ever. Wrestling is sorta a shady business or we can do what my gut tells me, the right call.”

A verbal pledge like this is unprecedented. It is the latest sign that Cody, the Young Bucks & company are onto something special and have tremendous confidence in themselves.

It’s been reported that Cody and The Bucks’ Ring of Honor contracts expire at the end of the year. Kenny Omega is signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling through January 2019.

Will Cody, the Bucks, Omega and Page remain with ROH & New Japan? Will they join WWE together? Will they star their own promotion? Only time will tell. One thing we do know: it’s going to be a very interesting few months ahead.

Adam Page Explains Why It’s A Great Time To Be A Wrestling Fan

Adam “Hangman” Page recently made an appearance on The Unsanctioned Podcast to talk about several professional wrestling topics. Page first commented on why he thinks now is a great time to be a fan of professional wrestling:

“After a while, people start to look for alternatives and today it’s easier to find alternatives than it ever has been. It’s very easily accessible. We just launched HonorClub, and soon we’ll get that up and running on Roku, Apple TV, iPhone, all that kind of stuff.

“It’s just so easy to look for something else. And when you look at something else and see our product [ROH] or you see New Japan’s, it’s night and day. So if it’s that easily accessible you just become a fan, you become hooked to it.”

Page then discussed what it’s like being a part of The Bullet Club, and and the faction’s fifth anniversary:

“It’s been great. Bullet Club has been huge. It’s something that’s transcended wrestling a little bit. I’m sure there are people wearing Bullet Club shirts who don’t even know what it is. It’s one of those kind of things, but that’s good. That’s good for us, that’s good for wrestling as a whole.

“Bullet Club’s success for me, it’s been really big for my career. It’s opened a lot of doors for me, doors in New Japan, more opportunities in Ring of Honor. I say all that, but honestly my one takeaway from it all is that it’s given me some of the best friends I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve probably spent more time with Matt, Nick, Cody, and Marty than I have my own wife this year.”

As for the current state of The Bullet Club after Kenny Omega and Cody’s issues with one another, Page believes that the group is fine for the moment:

“I think…Bullet Club is fine. Obviously there are a few issues that need to be worked out. Honestly, we had a bit of a moment at [NJPW] Dontaku for the five-year anniversary of the Bullet Club where we had that 10-man tag and maybe there were some frustrations beyond just Cody and Kenny. We just had to get that out of our systems a little bit and all get together on the same page.

“Cody and Kenny, these are two alphas, it’s just who they are, they’re huge personalities. They want to be ‘the leader’ I guess. My feeling is we’re grown men, why does someone need to be the leader? I’m a grown man and I’ll do what I want, we’re just friends. You know what I mean? But it’s in their blood…at the end of the day I respect both men.”

Page then discussed how Cody has provided him with inspiration by seeing how “on” he is all the time:

“I wouldn’t say there’s any piece of advice or anything like that. But he’s just a person who, legitimately every minute of every day, he’s on. He’s two-a-day at the gym, or coming up with stuff for The Elite, or thinking of long-term ideas for what he wants to do at Ring of Honor or New Japan or for a match that day, he’s just somebody who legitimately is always on, and I think that has motivated me as well a little bit.”

Adam Page Talks Longstanding Bullet Club Storyline

New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and Ring Of Honor (ROH) star Adam Page recently did an interview with the Pittsburgh City Paper to talk about several professional wrestling topics. Page first discussed The Bullet Club’s storyline being played over a long period of time and why he enjoys it:

“This, for me, is what wrestling is about. This is why I love it, why I enjoy doing it long term. Long-term stories, people attach to that. With Being The Elite, people watch that every week, and people message us to say that it’s something they consistently look forward to, something that gets them through the week, and some of the people have really latched onto it. It’s the work of our lives, and it’s what we love doing.”

Page then talked about his “Hangman” gimmick and why he got away from using a noose:

“I found out that I was joining Bullet Club and going to work for New Japan just a few weeks before it happened, and it was something that kind of took me by surprise. I hadn’t anticipated going that direction, but it was a great surprise.

“It caught me off guard, and one of the things that was suggested to me, since Adam Cole was joining Bullet Club, was that I have some sort of different name. Someone from New Japan suggested the name Hangman Page, and I’d take the gallows from Luke Gallows and fill that role a little bit.

“Looking back it’s something I wish I wouldn’t have done, or I would have done differently. But I think in the time, I was rushed to get gear ordered, to figure out who I was going to be, what I was going to be.

“And at this point I’ve figured it out, but with just two weeks notice? I had the noose for awhile, and I tried to be as sensitive as I could about in every way I possibly could, but I still had people writing me who were kind about it, but who had family members that had committed suicide and it made them uncomfortable, or maybe the racial connotations of me carrying a noose were uncomfortable, and I get that.

“I tried to be really sensitive about it, but it was something I wanted to get away from. I still carry a big untied rope with me to the ring, and honestly I kind of carry it out more now out of habit than anything, and I’ve kept the name because it’s kind of a cool sounding name, and at this point people connect it with me. It’s just become my name.”

Adam Page Talks Working With The Young Bucks, Reflects On His Career

Ring of Honor/New Japan Pro Wrestling talent Adam Page spoke with Sporting News for a new interview to talk about the Bullet Club and more. Over the last year or so, Page has elevated his game and been pushed into a more prominent role while being a member of the Bull Club.

Page’s next big match is slated to go down next month when he takes on international mega-star Kota Ibushi at ROH’s Supercard of Honor event on April 7th from New Orleans, Louisiana. In this interview, he talked about having the time of his career.

“This is the most fun I’ve had in my career. The most money I’ve made in my career. This is the best time in my career, and I don’t mean that as if the next year won’t be or the years after that. So far, it’s been a steady incline in everything that I do. I’ve enjoyed this time, and it should be continuing getting bigger.”

He also opened up about working with Matt and Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks.

“When we have these kinds of matches — myself, Matt and Nick — we go all out, maybe even more so than we have to or should. I think that’s what people can expect. It should be wild. The six-man titles are on the line so we have a lot to fight for.”

“[I’m] maybe more confident, maybe more willing to do things like moonsaults off of a balcony or whatever it may be. I’m fortunate that I’m in a good place right now. Fans are really responding to me now so I guess now is the time for me to give back and do that kind of stuff with a little less hesitation. … Around Christmas time, I passed by a Hot Topic at the mall. They had the Christmas decorations up in the front of the store with AC/DC and Metallica, Harry Potter, Star Wars and Bullet Club. So, we are certainly a part of pop culture. I think its Bullet Club stuff and what we’re doing now in wrestling is, honestly, such a big part of pop culture that it’s kind of hard to avoid, even if you don’t follow wrestling.”
