AEW Adjusts Venue Strategy
With recent reports of lower attendance figures, there have been rumors that AEW may shift towards hosting shows in smaller venues. The 2025 schedule reflects this shift, with several events booked at intimate locations such as the Hammerstein Ballroom and regional arenas across the Southeast and Southwest.
Darby Allin has learned a lot from Sting and part of it may be going to the beat of your own drum.
Allin was interviewed by SHAK Wrestling and was asked how much say Sting exactly had in determining all the happenings in his final match this Sunday at AEW Revolution.
“Everything. With the Bucks, everything, and that’s…It’s really awesome, if you really, really think about it, that the fact that this company is letting this man go out on his own terms, in his way, with his vision.
“Because there’s a lot of places that will straight up be like, ‘Alright, you’re retiring, but we’re gonna make sure that you wrestle this guy, and it could be a guy you have no interest in wrestling in,’ and then the fact that you have to tuck your tail between your legs and be a nice, little good boy and get a paycheck and wrestle somebody that you have no desire to wrestle, we’re talking about your career, your life’s work. It’s baffling to me that people are such little bitches. But yeah, anyways, Sting, he’s doing it his way. He’s doing it his way, and it’s amazing, and it’s awesome that AEW’s giving him that.”
Darby will tag up with Sting at Revolution to face Matthew & Nicholas Jackson at Revolution and The Young Bucks got a little sample of that early on the go-home show of AEW Dynamite. Sting came down from the rafters and took out the brothers after they attacked Darby Allin and Ric Flair.
Darby Allin is grateful for his three years with Sting and got the opportunity to express as much in the written word.
One of the pillars of AEW was given a platform to speak his mind on “The Player’s Tribune” and starts it off by when he first got paired with “The Man They Call Sting” and how it didn’t click with him at first.
“When I got paired with Sting, I didn’t know what to expect. It’s funny — for weeks they had me up in the rafters, and I wasn’t sure why. You’d think I would’ve put two and two together, but I didn’t. I was just like, ‘Sit in the rafters? OK cool.’ But then at some point someone said, ‘Yo….. you know why we’re doing this, right? Sting’s coming.’ And I just remember thinking how crazy that sounded. Like, I couldn’t process it. STING? And in his first show back…. he’s going to have a staredown with ME? Haha what the f***.”
Allin notes that it was Cody Rhodes who implored Darby to be introduced to Sting before they had a moment in the ring together. He recalled when “The American Nightmare” took him to meet the WWE Hall of Famer.
“He was like, ‘Alright. Sting’s here. I want you to meet him before you go out there.’ Then he walked me over to Sting’s trailer. It happened so fast, I barely had time to remember how nervous I was. But there was nothing to be nervous about. We started talking through the segment, and it was actually wild: there was no ego from him, no big-timing, no This is how it’s gonna happen, kid. None of that. If anything, it was the other way around. He was asking me how it’s gonna happen, and if I was OK with this, this and this, and if everything was cool.
“We’re talking about a guy who’s headlined some of the biggest shows ever, made shitloads of money, been on top longer than I’ve been alive. He’s showing up for this massive return. And his main concern is that I’m feeling comfortable. A 27-year-old nobody who he’s probably thinking jacked half his look. I was just like, WHAT IS HAPPENING. THIS IS INSANE. HOW IS STING SO NICE.”
Sting is not only genuinely a nice person, but he’s been notoriously nice for AEW as a major star. Sting, along with Darby, are set to square off against The Young Bucks in what is more than likely the main event of AEW Revolution on March 3 in Greensboro, NC.
AEW Revolution will mark the fifth annual pay-per-view for Tony Khan’s company, and this could be the most historic yet. Sting is set to wrestle his last match during the March 3, 2024, show at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. That being said, Hangman Page may not make it.
It was then noted that there could be another situation to keep Page from working the Revolution show. At this point, things are up in the air for his status.
During Fightful Select‘s Backstage Report podcast, Sean Ross Sapp stated that there is a “touch-and-go situation” surrounding Hangman Page right now. The thought is that they can use his injury angle to write him out of the event if they need to, but the hope is that he will be able to wrestle at the show.
“There is a sort of touch-and-go situation that may see him ending up not being able to work the Revolution show, and if that’s the case, then they can use this as a reason. The hope is that he’ll be good to go for it as well, but it was a carefully-crafted work, and well done. “
What’s Next
AEW has a lot of stories in the pipeline, especially with Revolution coming up in a matter of days. SEScoops will have complete coverage of the event, and you may check out the card below.
AEW Revolution 2024 Card:
Sting & Darby Allin (c) vs. The Young Bucks – AEW World Tag Team Championships

Christian Cage (c) vs. Daniel Garcia – TNT Championship
Orange Cassidy (c) vs. Roderick Strong – AEW International Championship
FTR vs. Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli
Wardlow vs. Lance Archer vs. Powerhouse Hobbs vs. ??? – Meat Madness
AEW’s ‘Hangman’ Adam Page may still miss next week’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view despite his ‘injury’ on this week’s edition of Dynamite not being legitimate.
Despite fears of a broken ankle, it’s since been reported that Page’s situation on Dynamite was not a real injury. Instead, the former AEW World Champion was simply showing excellent selling skills.
“The reason that he worked the ankle injury is because he has something going on in his personal life and he may not be able to work the pay-per-view. If he can’t work the pay-per-view then this is the cover story as to why he can’t work the pay-per-view.”
At this time, there is no confirmation as to what this personal issue is that could keep Page from the show. Alvarez added that people very close to Hangman didn’t know what was going on as of the morning after the ‘injury.’
What’s Next?
Hangman Page is scheduled to challenge AEW World Champion Samoa Joe at AEW Revolution 2024, in a match that will also include Swerve Strickland. The show will take place on March 3, and mark Sting’s final wrestling match. The Icon and Darby Allin will defend their titles against Matthew and Nicholas Jackson.

WWE News
– The Rock and Roman Reigns are advertised for tomorrow’s WWE SmackDown from Salt Lake City, Utah. (Tickets)
– WWE released Matt Camp from his contract sometime last week. This news broke on February 14th, and it was also a big shock for many. Camp never missed an episode of The Bump, and his departure was not mentioned on this week’s show, either.’ We’ve updated our WWE Releases tracker to reflect this departure.
– Jade Cargill was removed from her planned spot in the Elimination Chamber match. Cargill made her in-ring debut at the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble and was slated to be part of the upcoming Chamber match from Australia, based on a graphic that leaked on WWE.com showing the participants. This would have been another chance to feature Cargill in a multi-person match that would have protected her, but it seems those plans have been scrapped.
– Shotzi Blackheart was legit injured during the NXT television taping this week. She seriously hurt her knee, and reports later confirmed that she left the NXT Arena on crutches. We’re still awaiting word on her condition.

this is NOT the first time Sammy Guevara has injured Jeff Hardy with his amateur hour bullshit
– QT Marshall is returning to AEW. He will not be wrestling, but he will work with the company in a backstage capacity. Marshall left the company at the end of 2023, but came to terms on a revised role.
Marshall’s ‘new’ promotion Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling is expected to continue. TCW held its return event last week at the Nightmare Factory training facility, where they crowned inaugural champions.

AEW is preparing for Sting’s final match, marking the end of his iconic career. The Stinger has done a lot in his career, and now we know who he will wrestle at the big AEW pay-per-view.
Sunday, March 3#AEWRevolution LIVE on PPV! Greensboro, NC#AEW World Tag Team Titles Sting & Darby Allin (c) vs Matthew & Nicholas Jackson @youngbucks
Sting & Darby Allin will defend the AEW World tag team titles against The Young Bucks at AEW Revolution on March 3, 2024, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
This event will mark AEW’s inaugural Pay-Per-View in North Carolina. It was revealed a while ago that Sting will wrestle for the last time at the event.
Sting and Darby Allin won the AEW Tag Team Titles from Big Bill and Ricky Starks, giving them their first title run in AEW. They will now defend those titles at AEW Revolution, and they have a big match planned.
Nick and Matt Jackson turned heel in a big way, making themselves known to Sting and Darby Allin. This week on AEW Dynamite, they made their upcoming match official.
The Young Bucks confirmed during AEW Dynamite that they will wrestle Sting and Darby Allin at AEW Revolution. That match will be for the AEW Tag Team Titles. The Jackson Brothers seemed very confident about their chances.
What’s Next
Sting impressed many people with performances in AEW. Few saw a flying Stinger in his later years, but he certainly gave his all for Tony Khan’s company. Now, he is set for this one final match, and odds are he will make it an iconic performance.
SE Scoops will have continued coverage of this story, and everything else involving AEW Revolution, as more information is made available.
All Elite Wrestling has been ambitious in the past few years, expanding their business and running larger venues. AEW added two stadium shows in 2023, notably the successful AEW All In event at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Currently, the company has tickets on sale for this year’s AEW All In event and is expected to hold the AEW Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.
However, a new report shares they are expected to add another stadium show to their 2024 schedule.
On the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast, Andrew Zarian answered a fan question on whether AEW would run a stadium show in the United States. He noted that AEW has AEW Grand Slam, held yearly since 2021 at Arthur Ashe Stadium. He also confirmed that he believes they will run another stadium show in the U.S. sometime this year.
@AndrewZarian says AEW will be running another Stadium show in the US this year. -Mat Men Podcast
He has also been hinting news about Forbidden Door that he said he's excited about. Could be related could not. Full show below!
It’s important to note that while Zarian believes AEW will have a third stadium this year, the company has yet to make an official announcement. That said, AEW may look for another stadium show in the United States as they continue to expand their business. The report does raise questions on whether it is the right time for the company to run a second stadium show with inconsistent ticket sales success.
AEW Live Event Ticket Sale Concerns
AEW weekly live event episodes of AEW Dynamite and Collision haven’t done consistently well in attendance. WrestleTix shared on Twitter that the February 7 episode of AEW Dynamite at the Footprint Center in Phonix, Arizona, had a setup for a 5,285 seating capacity. However, it’s well below the seating capacity the venue can hold, which could be over 12,000.
Although the company may be inconsistent in selling out or reaching capacity weekly, their more significant events have proven to do well. The upcoming pay-per-view event, AEW Revolution, on March 3 at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex in Greensboro, North Carolina, is expected to be a sold-out show. On February 8, WrestleTix reported on Twitter that the company had sold over 15,651 tickets with a setup of 16,207.
It’s unclear what success AEW could have at this time doing a second stadium event in the U.S. However, they are taking chances and hoping to give their fans a great year of wrestling.
We’re six weeks away from AEW’s first pay-per-view of the year. Revolution will be the home of Sting’s final match. Matches have steadily been added to the show.
Since the Undisputed Kingdom were revealed as The Devil and The Devil’s Masked Men, they’ve made it clear that they’re on the hunt for gold. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett have a head start with the ROH Tag Team Championships. Roderick Strong has his sights set on the International Championship.
Last week following Cassidy’s match, Strong let Cassidy know that he wanted to wrestle him for the title. The champ was ready to go right then and there, but in true heel fashion, Strong wanted to wait. Weeks. He named the time and place: Revolution.
The Undisputed Kingdom left the ring before getting an answer. During a backstage segment, Renee Paquette asked Cassidy what his reaction was. He replied, “my reaction is…okay. I will wrestle you, Roddy for my International Championship at Revolution on March 3.”
The #AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy has a message for Roderick Strong.
Orange Cassidy hasn’t defended his title on a pay-per-view since Full Gear. Since his match with Strong is six weeks away, he wants to continue defending his title. In his segment with Paquette that he asked Tony to “get some of my friends, some of my enemies, some like, friends and enemies. Put them together in a match on Rampage and then the winner of that will wrestle me on Collision on Saturday for my International Championship.”
Kip Sabian, The Butcher, Komander, and Vikingo will face off this Friday for a shot at Cassidy’s title on Saturday.
Sting’s arrival in AEW was a shock for many pro wrestling fans. His WWE contract quietly expired, and a new deal was not signed. The Stinger believed that he could do a lot more in the ring, and he certainly proved that by impressing fans, going above and beyond, time and time again in AEW.
Goldberg was likely watching Sting’s final run in the pro wrestling business. Although Goldberg never ventured to AEW, he still wanted to be a part of Sting’s last match.
While appearing on Steve & Captain Evil, Goldberg stated that he wanted to be a part of Sting’s retirement match. He then went on to discuss what kind of person Sting is, and how he owes his pro wrestling career to The Icon.
“Sting is the reason why I broke into the business. Sting set a great example. He’s about to retire. I tried to be part of his retirement match. I would not have chosen to get into the world of professional wrestling if it wasn’t for Sting. He was a normal dude who went out and did abnormal things. Wrestling is like being in the circus, it truly is. I never looked at it with much respect, but after I watched him from afar, I realized that I had the ability to go do it. He was not only a performer. He had self-respect and he commanded respect. He’s one of the best human beings on the planet, and he set an example for me and I just tried to grab it and run with it and make him proud. I had the best time of my life in the ring with Sting.”
Goldberg & Sting’s History
Goldberg and Sting go way back to even before their wrestling days in WCW. They trained together at Goldberg’s gym, where Sting and Lex Luger worked out. Sting played a key role in getting Goldberg into wrestling, which opened many doors for him.
Goldberg may want to pay tribute to Sting by being included in his final match, but it doesn’t appear that is in the cards right now. Tony Khan has been known to surprise fans with appearances in the past, so you never know if that next big announcement could be about Goldberg.
AEW Revolution 2024 Date & Location
Sting plans to retire at AEW Revolution on March 3rd, 2024, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, a familiar place for him. Sting has made history in that building before, and he will do it one more time in 2024.
All Elite Wrestling fans are looking forward to witnessing Sting’s last match of his legendary career. On November 29, it was announced that Sting’s retirement match would occur at AEW Revolution on March 3, 2024, at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex in Greensboro, NC. Although tickets went on sale to the general public on December 15, the event is doing very well.
WrestleTix reported on December 17 that AEW Revolution has sold over 11,807 tickets and that the venue is set up for an attendance of 12,717. It’s reported that a little over 900 tickets are left, and on Ticketmaster, the lowest ticket price is currently $35.

Although WrestleTix may have an estimated setup for the event, it is possible to open more seating. The Greensboro Coliseum Complex can hold over an attendance of 22,000.
The report shares that AEW has blocked off behind and the side of where the entrance will be set up. If more tickets are sold for the event, AEW could decide to make changes to accommodate more seating. It’s important to note that AEW hasn’t announced any matches for the show, except that Sting will have his final match. Despite not having an opponent yet, fans are very interested in being in attendance to see Sting compete in the legendary venue.
The Importance Of Sting Finishing His Last Match At The Greensboro Coliseum
“The Icon” ending his career in the Greensboro Coliseum is fitting, as it was where he had his legendary match against Ric Flair. Sting faced “Nature Boy” to a time-limit draw at the NWA Clash Of The Champions on March 27, 1988. Although he lost, it was one of the highlight matches of Sting’s career.
Over 35 years later, Sting may have Flair in his corner to face an unknown opponent. AEW hasn’t shared who “The Icon” will challenge but is making a point to share that Sting has not been beaten since joining the company.
Regardless of the opponent, AEW fans are showing their support for Sting and are looking forward to seeing him put the face paint on for the last time.
Last Sunday was AEW’s first pay-per-view of the year, Revolution. The card offered a variety of matches including The Final Burial, a 60-minute Iron Man Match, and a Texas Deathmatch.
The latter match had a lot of discourse around the amount of blood involved (sound familiar?) Hangman Page has been involved in three Texas Deathmatches in AEW, two of them when he was champion. Each match involved a lot of blood. Jon Moxley bleeds regularly, to the point that fans says it’s not a Mox match until he bleeds.
Matt Hardy’s Take
courtesy of AEW
As he does every week, Matt Hardy weighs in on current topics in the wrestling world before moving on to that week’s topic on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast. Since he was at Revolution, he gave his opinions on several matches.
On the Texas Deathmatch, Hardy said that from a “story aspect and from a psychology standpoint, I thought it was great. I loved the story they told. I’m cool with the violence. There was a lot of blood in it. For some people, it was too bloody. It was maybe too violent. And I do get it, it’s not everybody’s cup of tea, but there’s some people who really, really enjoy that. I don’t mind that being offered on a variety show, so to say.”
“There’s some people who hate cinematic matches. I think cinematic matches every so often are okay if they fit in a variety show. So as far as that goes, I give huge props. They also they like were fucking badass, courageous warriors to go out and do that to one another. I take my hat off to both Jon Moxley and “Hangman” Adam Page.”
“And probably my favorite part of the whole match is Jon Moxley has been built as the heart and soul of AEW in the last couple of years. He’s the guy that’s really been the nucleus, kind of like the main — you have guys like Jericho, the established veteran, who’s more like the established guy who isn’t like the main worker of the show — but Jon Moxley is the nucleus. He is the main worker, kick-ass warrior of the whole show. And the finish of that match with him being beat by Hangman Page clean via tap out in a Texas Deathmatch. I think that was a great move and a truly elevating match for Adam Page.”
In the aftermath of the incident, AEW owner Tony Khan addressed the media at a post-PPV scrum, where MJF also made some bold statements about his status as the best wrestler in the world. While many wanted to hear Khan’s response to the incident, MJF basically brushed it off with a joke, claiming that he threw the drink because “the kid looked thirsty.”
However, Khan clarified that the incident was taken seriously and that he had spoken to the young fan, identified as Titus. Despite MJF’s dismissive attitude, Khan acknowledged that throwing a drink at a child was not acceptable behavior, especially from a champion who is supposed to set an example for others.
While Titus may have been a “real champ” about the incident, many argue that it was not fair to put him in that position in the first place.
i just don't buy the narrative that the kid deserved to be assaulted for watching a wrestling show because it's part of a wrestler's heel work and that child should be glad mjf included him on the show. that's crazy. get help. seek actual human interactions outisde your screens?? https://t.co/S1sPV7qJu9
The reactions from that incident with MJF shows me yall will let anybody do whatever to your kid as long as you’re being entertained. Thats a damn shame. And he did it to a black child. Nah Im not rocking with that.
The incident has also raised broader questions about the culture of professional wrestling and the role that performers play in shaping that culture. MJF is known for his heel work and pushing the limits when it comes to playing his villainous character, but some don’t agree that acting like this with a child is acceptable.
In this case, MJF’s behavior is being criticized as disrespectful and potentially harmful to the young fan involved. While it is ultimately up to AEW to decide how to handle the situation, it is clear that fans and critics alike will be closely watching to see what actions are taken to address the incident and if MJF will tone down his persona when interacting with fans.
One rowdy fan got ejected from the arena during the main event of Sunday night’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
According to a report by PWInsider, a fan threw a water bottle towards the ring during the main event. Security quikcly identified the fan and ejected him from the arena, which prompted a loud “You F**ked Up” chant that was audible during the broadcast.
MJF vs. Danielson at Revolution
MJF and Bryan Danielson’s Iron Man match was a gruesome and bloody battle. ‘The American Dragon’ had scored the running knee strike for the first fall. After hitting a low blow, MJF rolled him up for 2 falls.
MJF was DQ’d for the low blow and Danielson was awarded a fall. The third fall for MJF came when he hit a piledriver on Danielson, who was dangling on the middle rope.
The match was a time-limit draw and MJF retained his title. It was announced that the match will continue under sudden death rules as MJF got oxygen. The final moments of the match saw Danielson avoiding being hit with the diamond ring and hit a running knee strike for a near pinfall.
This week on Top Rope Nation, SEScoops Site Manager Ryan Droste and Kyle Ross review Sunday night’s AEW Revolution PPV show. The big debate on the show is whether or not Bryan Danielson vs. MJF was the greatest Iron Man Match of all time.
Plus, where does Revolution rank as far as best AEW PPV events ever?

Jon Moxley may have become the heart and soul of All Elite Wrestling, but the former World Champion has not forgotten about those he worked with in WWE.
Moxley arrived in AEW mere weeks after his departure from WWE and would become the second World Championship of the promotion.
The former Dean Ambrose now holds the records for the most AEW World Championship reigns (three, or four if you include his interim reign) and most days as AEW World Champion.
Revolution Tribute
Long before he was taking it to the likes of MJF, Kenny Omega, and the Young Bucks, Moxley was a staple of WWE, being introduced to the main roster as part of the Shield in 2012.
During last night’s Revolution Pay-Per-View, Moxley once again showed his violent side in his Texas Death Match against fellow former World Champion ‘Hangman’ Adam Page.
In one spot, Moxley had Page’s head prone on some bricks, and in what fans online have called a nod to Seth Rollins, hit a stomp on the Cowboy.
Despite this brutal move, it would be Page who would win the match, getting the submission victory over Moxley after 24 minutes.
Seth on Moxley
Moxley and Rollins haven’t shared a ring in many years, but the Architect has continued to keep a close eye on his friend and former rival.
Speaking in an interview with Ariel Helwani last year, Rollins praised Moxley’s work in AEW, and said there have been no issues between them in the years since Jon left WWE.
“Never any animosity. He’s great, he’s at the top of his game doing his thing over in AEW. So nothing but the best.”
Seth Rollins.
Rollins is expected to face Logan Paul at WWE WrestleMania next month.
AEW Revolution takes place tonight from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California This will be the fourth incarnation of AEW’s Revolution PPV event; the first was held in Chicago back in 2020.
SEScoops correspondents Tyriece Simon, Andrew Ravens, and Ryan Droste have assembled to provide our official AEW Revolution predictions.
Tyriece Simon: Ricky Starks should get the clean win over Chris Jericho, especially with the Jericho Appreciation Society banned from ringside. Starks has been beaten down and made the underdog for weeks, so it makes sense for him to come out of AEW Revolution looking strong. While he wins here, I wonder what AEW has planned for Starks moving forward. (Prediction: Ricky Starks)
Andrew Ravens: Starks should win here as he’s the babyface in this feud, and while he doesn’t need the win to get the rub from the wrestling veteran, it would add to it. They’ve done a good job of building up this match, and one I look forward to seeing. (Prediction: Ricky Starks)
Ryan Droste: It really only makes sense for Starks to go over here. The veteran should put him over and Starks should continue his march to more prominence. Hopefully. (Prediction: Ricky Starks)
Consensus: Ricky Starks
AEW TNT Champion Samoa Joe vs. Wardlow
Tyriece Simon: Wardlow has to get his revenge and win the title back. I think AEW messed up this one of the feuds by having Darby Allin win the title. I think it would’ve been more effective for Joe to have remained dominant and unbeaten until he faced Wardlow again. To me, the feud had lost some momentum from when it started. However, I think Wardlow will win, and he already has his next opponent in Powerhouse Hobbs, who is a heel. (Prediction: Wardlow)
Andrew Ravens: Wardlow is a massive favorite to regain the title, and it makes too much sense for him not to get his revenge, especially considering everything that Joe has done to him for Wardlow to not win the title back. Plus, Joe is being used for the ROH brand going forward, albeit that hasn’t stopped Tony Khan from double-booking ROH talent on AEW programming before. (Prediction: Wardlow)
Ryan Droste: The amount of steam Wardlow has lost since last spring is concerning. It’s time to change that, and although you wouldn’t usually put a title on someone not quite firing all cylinders, beating Wardlow here feels like it would be a big mistake. Joe figures to be one of the cornerstones of ROH, so you go back to Wardlow here. (Prediction: Wardlow)
Consensus: Wardlow
AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter vs. Saraya vs. Ruby Soho
Tyriece Simon: I think Jamie Hayer retains the title in this match. I don’t see why AEW would take the championship from her now. What I can see happening is Soho preventing Saraya from winning, which creates conflict between Saraya and Toni Storm and her. Regardless, I think Hayter keeps her title. (Prediction: Jamie Hayter)
Andrew Ravens: Hayter shouldn’t lose the title here, and I see her retaining the title. The interesting part will be how they get there. I expect Soho to take the pinfall loss so that AEW can build to Hayter vs. Saraya at Double Or Nothing in May. (Prediction: Jamie Hayter)
Ryan Droste: Anything other than Hayter winning would be a mistake. Neither of the other two have the momentum right now, and unlike Wardlow in the previous example, won’t have their stock hurt by a loss here. (Prediction: Jamie Hayter)
AEW Tag Team Champions The Gunn Club vs. The Acclaimed vs. Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal vs. Orange Cassidy and Danhausen
Tyriece Simon: Based on how the story has gone with The Gunns and The Acclaimed, I can see Billy Gunn turning on The Acclaimed. It seems the act between The Acclaimed and Gunn has reached a point where it’s time to break them up. I can see the Acclaimed getting close to winning the title, but Gunn stops them leading to one of his sons getting the win. (Prediction: The Gunn Club)
Andrew Ravens: It wouldn’t make much sense to put the titles on The Gunns just to have them drop the titles here. I think the reason AEW is doing the multi-team match is so The Acclaimed doesn’t have to get beat, and another team can take the loss instead. It also prolongs the rematch between The Guns and Acclaimed for a later date. (Prediction: The Gunn Club)
Ryan Droste: Feels too soon to go back to The Acclaimed after the shocking title change. I think The Gunn Club retain and wouldn’t be surprised to see Billy Gunn play into the finish; maybe not a full blown turn on the Acclaimed, but some type of accidental interference that costs them. (Prediction: The Gunn Club)
Consensus: The Gunn Club
Christian vs. “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry
Tyriece Simon: This has to be the match Jungle Boy gets his revenge on Christian. The feud cooled off because Christian was out due to injury. I expect Luchasaurus to have some involvement in the match, but I think Jungle Boy wins and ends his rivalry with Christian. (Prediction: Jungle Boy)
Andrew Ravens: Months after this feud started, we’re finally going to get a payoff. Hopefully, Tony khan is as done with this feud as I am, and they have Jungle Boy get his revenge by beating Cage, and we move on to something. (Prediction: Jungle Boy)
Ryan Droste: Jungle Boy wins and gets his revenge here finally after Christian’s long time off from injury. It’s time to move on from this, so Jack Perry has to go over. (Prediction: Jungle Boy)
Consensus: Jungle Boy
AEW World Trios Champions The Elite vs. House of Black
Tyriece Simon: I believe The House of Black gets the win here. The Elite needs a credible threat to go against right now. AEW can have The House of Black and The Elite feud for a little longer and probably last until Double or Nothing, which should occur in May. This match can steal the show for AEW Revolution. (Prediction: House of Black)
Andrew Ravens: I can see this being a pick ’em as The House of Black does need a big win to stay credible, and as much as I would like to see Kenny Omega go back to being a top singles star, I don’t think it will happen here. The Elite keep the titles in an excellent match. (Prediction: The Elite)
Ryan Droste: I can’t imagine The Elite losing to House of Black here. I have high hopes for the match, but this would be a really surprising title change to me. Keep the belts on The Elite until (hopefully) we get a match between they and FTR/CM Punk match down the line. That needs to be for these belts. (Prediction: The Elite)
Consensus: Split
Jon Moxley vs. “Hangman” Adam Page
Tyriece Simon: It’s weird how we got here, considering we already had the rubber match. However, this will be the fourth time these two will compete in this ongoing feud. I think Adam Page needs the win here, mainly because Jon Moxley already has two wins over him. Although I don’t know where AEW is going with the BCC and Moxley, as they act like heels, they are cheered by fans. Moxley may win but does something that makes him look more like a heel. I will stick with Page getting the win because I think he needs it at this point in his career. (Prediction: Adam Page)
Andrew Ravens: Page looks like he will be getting the win, but I would rather see Moxley score a PPV win. He lost to CM Punk at All Out and to MJF at the Full Gear shows, the last two PPV events. He has been protected strongly on television, and I will go against the grain by thinking he will get it done here. (Prediction: Jon Moxley)
Ryan Droste: As Andrew pointed out, Moxley is on a streak of big losses on PPV. Adam Page’s stock has fallen a lot since his time as world champion last year. There’s a strong argument for both to win here. I’ll say that Page gets the win, but Moxley does something dastardly after the match in a fit of rage for the loss, continuing his push down the line as a full heel. (Prediction: Adam Page)
Consensus: Split
AEW World Champion MJF vs. Bryan Danielson
Tyriece Simon: This is a true test for MJF as a world champion. He is going against Bryan Danielson, who is still one of the best wrestlers in the world. It’ll be interesting to see how MJF will compete in a 60-minute Iron Man match, considering he doesn’t wrestle that consistently. I believe MJF will win, but the real intrigue is how he will work for 60 minutes with Danielson. (Prediction: MJF)
Andrew Ravens: MJF should and will retain his title here. This could be the best match of MJF’s career thus far, although I think the stip will hurt the match. If AEW wanted to go for an hour, I would rather see it just go an hour without being told in advance. They did that before with 30 minutes and could’ve done it here. Either way, it’s not time for MJF to drop the title. (Prediction: MJF)
Ryan Droste: I would absolutely love to see Bryan Danielson win a world championship again. Love it. That being said, Bryan himself does not seem to care about winning championships at this point in his career — he’s more interested in helping young talent. That’s what he has done with this feud, as the build to this match has been great stuff. They should have an excellent match, but in the end MJF retains. (Prediction: MJF)
Fans tuning in to this weekend’s AEW Revolution 2023 Pay-Per-View will see one wrestler on the show receive their ‘final burial.’
Last June, Christian Cage turned heel on Jungle Boy Jack Perry, attacking the young star after he and Luchasaurus lost the AEW World Tag Team Championship to The Young Bucks.
This betrayal would also mark the end of Jurassic Express, as Luchasaurus would align himself with Cage as part of the feud.
Burial
During last night’s AEW Rampage, Jungle Boy appeared in a video promo and said that a fight with Cage isn’t enough, and he looks to end the Canadian veteran.
Jungle Boy vowed that there will be “grave consequences” for Cage, who has referenced Jack’s father Luke Perry as part of their feud.
The actor, best known for roles in Beverly Hills 90210 and CW’s Riverdale, died in March 2019, and his passing has been used for heat by Cage.
Jungle Boy said that he’ll allow Cage to say ‘hi’ to his dad, and promised that their match at Revolution will be the “final burial.”
While not sharing the same name as WWE’s Buried Alive match, the Final Burial has clear similarities to the bout.
WWE’s first Buried Alive match came in 1996, when Mankind defeated The Undertaker, and the Phenom would also lost the second match against ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin in 1998.
It wouldn’t be until the August 30, 1999, edition of SmackDown that The Undertaker would win a buried alive match, teaming with the Big Show to defeat the Rock ‘n Sock Connection.
Unfortunately for the Phenom, he would lose the two following matches, losing to Mr. McMahon at Survivor Series 2003 (thanks to the interference of Kane) and being bested by his brother (thanks to the interference of the Nexus) at Bragging Rights 2010.
The betting odds have been released for the AEW Revolution pay-per-view event ahead of the show this Sunday night from the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.
So far, five normal AEW titles are on the line, including the AEW Tag Team Title bout pitting champions The Gunn Club vs. The Acclaimed vs. Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal vs. a tag team that will be decided on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite.
As of this writing, the only title expected to change hands is Wardlow being favored to win the TNT Title from Samoa Joe.

Ricky Starks -400 (1/4) vs. Chris Jericho +250 (5/2)
All Elite Wrestling has announced new matches for their upcoming Revolution pay-per-view event on March 5, 2023, at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California during this week’s Dynamite.
Jamie Hayter will defend her AEW Women’s Championship against Saraya, and Ruby Soho in a triple threat match. This comes after Soho’s loyalty has been the focal point of a storyline between Saraya and Toni Storm as outsiders, a play on their WWE history, against hometown talent such as Hayter and Britt Baker. Now, Soho will have to decide which side she’s on.
Also confirmed for the show is Chris Jericho vs.Ricky Starks in a bout where “everyone” will be banned from ringside. This comes after Starks beat Jericho last month on Dynamite while Jericho scored a victory against Starks and Action Andretti in a recent tag team bout.
For the last several weeks, Starks has since been feuding with the Jericho Appreciation Society.

Tony Khan revealed the date and venue of 2023’s Revolution pay-per-view to kick off the post-Full Gear media scrum.
Date and venue of Revolution 2023
Khan announced, in response to the first question, to confirm or reveal where Revolution would be held. He let everyone know that it’s confirmed for the Chase Center in San Francisco. According to the Wrestling Observer, the date is set for March 5th.

The upcoming Revolution show will be the fourth iteration of the pay-per-view. The first show in 2020 just before the COVID-19 pandemic caused a shutdown is best remembered for the Adam Page and Kenny Omega vs. The Young Bucks match. 2021’s show is infamous for the botched ending to Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley’s “Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch.” This year’s show had the CM Punk and MJF Dog Collar match.
The road to Revolution now begins with a new AEW World Champion after MJF won the title in the main event of Full Gear – thanks to the help of William Regal. MJF is the youngest AEW World Champion and only the sixth titleholder in its history.
AEW held their annual Revolution pay-per-view earlier this year from the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando Florida, a show that saw CM Punk battle MJF in a dog-collar matchup, and “Hangman” Adam Page retain the AEW world title over Adam Cole in the main event.
The year prior AEW was running Revolution out of their home-base in Daily’s Place due to the COVID-19 outbreak. That event saw the first-ever Exploding Barbed-Wire deathmatch in the company’s history. Now it looks like AEW will be bringing the fourth ever Revolution to a place the promotion has never been since they launched in 2019.
Revolution 2023 Potentially Headed To San Francisco
According to Fightful Select, AEW is looking to run the Cow Palace in March for Revolution 2023. The venue is located in San Francisco, and is known in the pro-wrestling community.
However, the Cow Palace has not had a wrestling event at it since the 2019 NJPW G1 Special. WWE has not run the venue in over ten years so it could be good timing for AEW to try and claim it as the California market for pro-wrestling has always been strong.
AEW made their debut in California earlier this year with shows in Ontario and Los Angeles. AEW has yet to officially confirm Revolution’s location, nor will they until after their next annual pay-per-view, Full Gear.
Early PPV buy estimates are trickling in for last weekend’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view from Orlando, FL.
The main event saw Hangman Adam Page successfully defend the AEW World Championship against Adam Cole. The event also had CM Punk get revenge against MJF in a highly anticipated Dog Collar Match.
According to Dave Meltzer, Revolution is estimated to have sold approximately 110,000 buys on the Bleacher Report and FITE streaming services.
Factoring in buys from traditional pay-per-view providers, Meltzer believes AEW Revolution could finish in the range of 145,000-170,000 total buys.
If AEW Revolution 2022 did on the low end of estimates, with 145,000 buys, the show would still be considered a huge success. It would be the most-purchased Revolution ever and the second-most purchased PPV in company history.
AEW Revolution Historical Buys (Estimated figures by Wrestlenomics)
AEW Revolution 2020: 90,000 buys
AEW Revolution 2021: 135,000 buys
AEW Revolution 2022: 145,000-170,000 buys
All Out Remains AEW’s Biggest PPV of All Time
AEW Revolution’s early numbers are impressive. However, the company is still hoping to surpass its biggest PPV of all time, All Out. The PPV took place on Sep. 5, 2021. at the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. AEW heavily promoted the event with the in-ring return of CM Punk. All Out earned 205,000 buys and grossed over $10 million in revenue.
The company’s second-highest PPV is the Nov. 13, 2021 event Full Gear at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The big moment from the event was Page defeating AEW World Champion Kenny Omega for the title. The event earned 145,000 buys and four million in revenue.
If AEW Revolution does 146,000 buys, it will surpass Full Gear 2021 as the company’s second-biggest PPV ever. Although All Out remains AEW’s most successful PPV, their PPV numbers stay above 100,000.
AEW last PPV under 100,000 was Full Gear 2020 from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, which did 85,000 buys.
Sting had a wild table spot during his match at AEW Revolution and he’s amped up.
Before the main event title match between champion “Hangman” Adam Page and Adam Cole took center stage, Sting teamed with Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara to take on Andrade El Idolo, Matt Hardy, and Isiah Kassidy.
Sting Takes Leap Of Faith
The six-man tag team match had some gnarly spots. One of them involved Sting, who dove off a mezzanine onto Andrade through three tables.
During the AEW Revolution post-event media conference, Sting described the rush he felt during the spot.
“Ah man, what was it like? That was probably the highest one I’ve ever done through tables like that. So, my heart was pumping pretty good but at the same time, the adrenaline was pumping. The crowd was going crazy and it becomes a little easier at that point. So, exciting. Exciting stuff.”
When asked if he would like to have more matches of that magnitude going forward, “The Icon” said he wouldn’t hesitate.
“That would be pretty awesome to me. I love to do something different from your standard wrestling match. So, I tend to like those types of matches.”
Sting, Darby, and Guevara ended up winning the match after Darby hit the Coffin Drop on Hardy.
