-According to one source, the recent pairing of AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka was inspired by the Shawn Michaels and Diesel combination from the 1990s.
-Vickie Guerrero recently noted on her official Twitter account that she is going back to college to get her medical administration degree.
-The president of WWE Studios, Michael Luisi, has been added to the panel at the upcoming New York Comic Con, which takes place this Sunday and also features WWE Superstars Kane and Hornswoggle.

Tonight at WWE Battleground, the Divas Championship will be on the line as AJ Lee defends the butterfly-emblazoned belt against Brie Bella. Promoting the bout on the WWE App, Natalya and Eva Marie spoke to Tom Phillips, where they announced that they are rooting for their Total Divas co-star in her match against Lee. During the interview, Eva Marie rattles the third-generation wrestler with her proclamation that she could be the No. 1 contender—Eva Marie has competed in one match thus far, a non-televised tag team bout at SummerSlam Axxess in August.
Natalya said, “I’m actually really excited to see what’s going to happen at Battleground. As much as I wanted to be the No. 1 contender for the Divas Championship, I’m happy that Brie is going to get a chance to make a stand against AJ and really put her in her place for all the things she’s done to us Total Divas. I am looking forward to AJ getting beaten.”
Eva Marie then remarks, “Now Nattie, I know you want to be No. 1 contender. I know you’re a little hurt that you’re not in Brie’s spot right now, aren’t you? I mean let’s be honest, I think I can be No. 1 contender, but I’ll be rooting for Brie.”
Natalya snaps back, “Yeah, you really could be No. 1 contender. I’d like to see you do a headlock takeover first.” Eva Marie responds, “Absolutely, no problem. I’m just being honest.”
Natalya then resumes talking about the match: “What we’re trying to say is that all us Total Divas are excited about seeing AJ Lee without the Divas Championship on Sunday at Battleground. If it’s Brie Bella that does it, then so be it.”
Promoting tonight’s WWE Battleground pay-per-view event, WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee addressed a series of topics in an interview published today on BleacherReport.com, including her scathing “#PipeBombshell” toward the stars of Total Divas, her recent heated interaction with Jerry “The King” Lawler at the announce desk and the meaning behind her tattoo.
In the lengthy interview, Lee reveals that she was asked to appear on the E! reality series, and declined. This led to the WWE Diva’s on-screen tirade towards the cast, since WWE chief Vince McMahon wanted her to explain why she was against the show. The New Jersey native, however, says her not jumping aboard the project was perceived the wrong way.
Lee states, “I give [the cast of Total Divas] credit. Of course on screen I’m not going to say any of that. (Laughs). I’m going to take jabs and stuff as part of the story. But I’m not a hundred percent against it.
“As a person, I couldn’t do it. The whole story is, they asked me to be on it and I told them no. And it was kind of received the wrong way. I was upset about it and there was a lot of friction between myself and the people who kind of wanted me to jump on board with this show.
“It’s not who I am. I don’t think it helps with what I’ve done so far either. It may be great for the girls who are kind of spokeswoman kind of women. That’s not my world.
“But me not jumping on board was kind of perceived the wrong way. I think Vince likes people who are really brave and quirky and like to take risks and stir the pot sometimes. And he was like “OK. She doesn’t want to be on it? Let her tell us all why.”
“No one really knew what I was going to say. So, that’s how that happened.”
Last month during an episode of Raw, Lee was involved in a heated spat with Jerry “The King” Lawler while commentating a Divas match—she sniped not being his type since she’s too young for him. The 26-year-old reveals that she doesn’t plan her on-screen remarks.
“The funny thing is I get a lot of “oh, I can’t believe they let you say that!” Everything that has been kind of controversial in the last couple of weeks has been 100 percent from my mind. It’s just been me saying “Let’s see how much trouble I can get in,” Lee said.
“When you do commentary you don’t really plan anything. I watch my matches back and Jerry Lawler rubs me the wrong way. The way he talks about the girls and me in particular. As a character I feel like she wouldn’t like him. So, I went out there thinking “I’m ready to fight any of you.
“You can’t really plan what you are going to say, but I’m kind of a smart a**. I like to jab. That’s who I am. I went out there and they were all sort of attacking me and I was not prepared for that. So I kind of went into smart a** mode. And it happened. (Laughs).
“We never talked about it, but I think it was fine. It was just a fun little jab I think.”
In early September, Lee tweeted an image of a tattoo she got on the back of her neck to commemorate the date she won the belt (June 16, 2013). Contrary to popular belief, the mark “wasn’t just about winning the title.” She explains, “I lived in a car. I lived on the street, I lived in a motel. My whole life I always believed I wouldn’t be in this situation any more. I’m going to be in WWE and I’m going to be the champion.
“That was the light at the end of the tunnel. That made me not lose my mind and not give up. To achieve those goals was all kind of dream sequence. To have the opportunity Kaitlyn and I did, a 20-minute match and everything so absolutely perfect. I had imagined it as a kid and it all came true in real life.
“I kind of made the tattoo look like a prison tattoo. I was like a prisoner serving time. To me it was like I finally accomplished something and it was time served. Fourteen years of trying to get here. I made it out of a dark past. That’s what it means to me. It just happens to be the date I won the title. That was the ultimate goal.
“I think that’s the only tattoo I’ll ever get. I probably won’t get a matching one the day I lose it. (Laughs).”
Lee also discusses the state of the Divas division, her move up the wrestling ranks, crafting matches, and more. To read the lengthy interview, click here.

After returning to WWE in March, The Bella Twins resumed their manipulative and malicious characters until just recently, as Brie has been portraying a smiling babyface character (with Nikki following her lead) in her battle against Divas Champion AJ Lee—which was then solidified due to her relationship with top babyface wrestler Daniel Bryan being acknowledged. However, on WWE programming, no clear indication was given as to what led to the twin duo’s sudden change of heart after portraying “mean girls” for months.
According to PWInsider.com, the twin duo technically turned babyface as a result of Lee’s scathing “#PipeBombshell” toward them and their Total Divas co-stars on the Aug. 27 episode of Raw. The WWE creative department’s idea was that since Lee portrays a Total Divas loathing villain, The Bella Twins and the other stars of the E! reality show are therefore de facto babyfaces.
It would appear that Brie and Nikki, as well as sidekick Eva Marie, didn’t receive a memo on the switch as their characters continued to appear in the same arrogant manner through the Sept. 16 episode of Raw-near the conclusion of the show, Brie was shown embracing Bryan backstage as he went out to the arena to face Roman Reigns. Brie began smiling after scoring the pinfall victory in the 10-Diva Tag Team Match on the Sept. 23 Raw, as she and her Total Divas peers celebrated the win together. Following the match, however, Nikki and Eva Marie labeled themselves as well as Brie as “Mean Girls” on Instagram, but haven’t against since.
To turn The Bella Twins babyface, Lee said the following: “Do you want to know what I see when I look in that ring? Honestly? Cheap, interchangeable, expendable, useless women. Women who have turned to reality television because they just weren’t gifted enough to be actresses. And they just weren’t talented enough to be champion.
“I have done more in one year than all of you have done in your entire collected careers…I have shattered glass ceilings and broken down doors. Why? So a bunch of stiff, ungrateful plastic mannequins can waltz on through without even as much as a thank you?…I gave my life to this and you were just handed fifteen minutes of fame…you’re all worthless excuses for women and you will never be able to touch me.”
It will be announced on this week’s WWE SmackDown that WWE Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel will defend his title against R-Truth. Bray Wyatt also teased an appearance at Battleground, which will likely be the rumored match we reported on Tuesday with Wyatt taking on Kofi Kingston. The following are highlights from a recent interview with former TNA Knockout Mickie James:
On her current status with TNA: “I mean I really don’t know. I’m not at liberty to say. I’m sure people can figure it out.”
On the difference in TNA running Impact Wrestling on the road and in Orlando: “Obviously there’s a huge difference. When we were in Orlando, you had vacationers but typically we had the same audience, the same hardcore audience that would come to every taping. I mean that was a cool factor but now being on the road, it’s different, the fans feel like they’re part of the show because it’s in their hometown, they’re gonna get a chance to get seen on TV ya know. I think it’s a great difference. You can see the energy of the show has changed, watching on TV and live, it transforms you as a performer. You feed off it I think.”
On the comparisons between her character in WWE in 2005 and the present-day AJ Lee character: “You know I’ve heard that and I’ve seen that. I feel like they’ve done it a bit different which is good because obviously you don’t want to do it the same.I did get a chance to see her segments with Stephanie backstage and things people have Tweeted me whether it’s mashups or different things. It’s a cool thing. Obviously we did something right the first time or you wouldn’t want to do it again with a different angle.”

– The official website of WWE announced Monday afternoon that Divas Champion AJ Lee will defend her title against Brie Bella at this Sunday’s Battleground pay-per-view event.
Previewing the match, WWE writes, “With the full attention of Brie Bella — who is no doubt eager to prove that she’s more than a “cheap, interchangeable, expendable, useless woman,” to quote the champion — focused solely on her, will the mercurial AJ Lee be able to back up her brazen words? Or will WWE’s black widow find herself trapped in a web of defeat as Brie begins her second reign as queen of the mountain?”

Madusa, formerly known as Alundra Blayze, is none too pleased with reigning WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee recently appearing in possession of the WWE Women’s Championship—the 50-year-old considers herself the rightful owner of the strap since she never lost it in a match.
Last week, WWE’s resident “Geek Goddess” tweeted this photo of herself holding the retired belt (for a WWE.com photo shoot she and other wrestlers took part in):
Upon seeing the picture, Madusa called out Lee on Facebook. She wrote:
“Apparently someone has delusions of grandeur……..
“AJ Never was, Never will be the WWE womens champion as long as I OFFICIALLY hold the title. Bitch never beat me, Bitch never will. However she does give good mike skill so lets see what she has to say now….
According to this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lee’s tribute drew a negative reaction from some of her co-workers as they consider it an “eye roller”—wrestlers displaying fan-like behavior is generally frowned upon by those affiliated within the industry. Plus, WWE commentators Jerry “The King” Lawler and John “Bradshaw” Layfield poked fun at her ink during last Monday’s live Raw broadcast by saying if she lost the belt, she would get a tattoo commemorating the date.
During a recent interview with WWE.com, the New Jersey native explained the meaning behind her unique mark.
“When I was really young, my entire family was covered in tattoos, so it was okay to get one. But I knew, when I did get one, that I wanted it to be something important and special. So, at a very young age, I decided that I would get it when I won the title,” said Lee.
“I’m not a girly girl. And I didn’t want fancy script or a butterfly or anything like that on me. I wanted something surreal; something that showed time served. That’s why it’s in the style that it’s in. [The Divas Championship is] something that I worked for and spent a great deal of my time trying to get. It’s 14 years in the making. So, it’s supposed to be really cold. Just a mark of an accomplishment and now I move on.”
– WWE sent out a press release on Wednesday announcing the new “John Cena’s Fast Lane” mobile game. The game is being billed as the ‘first-ever 3D mobile racing game’ and is now available for download from Apple iTunes and Google Play for use on iOS iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices.

-WWE Hall Of Famer Adam “Edge” Copeland will be hosting SyFy’s Ghost Mine on September 4th.
-The following is an excerpt from a new online blog by WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley, where he discusses AJ Lee’s promo from Monday’s RAW:
Yes, that was an amazing promo by AJ – primarily because she believed every word of it to be true..or at least it seemed that way to this 28 year wrestling veteran. After all, going back to the lessons I learned from Michael PS Hayes, a heel is always at their most believable and frightening and believable when they absolutely believe in their own words and actions. AJ’s words were convincing and seem to be the ones being embraced by the WWE Universe. I know many people look at Bri and Nikki and see two beautiful women who have been given their spot in the company due to their beauty and choice in boyfriends.
That’s not what I see when I look at Bri and Nikki. I see two strong, proud women who walked away from WWE in April 2012 following a legitimate business disagreement with the company. Bri and Nikki wanted to have more say in what they could and could not do outside of WWE. The company disagreed. I know that feeling. I’ve been there. The Bellas took a stand and walked away. I know that feeling too. But they didn’t do it the Mick Foley way – whining and complaining, and (ask Layla about this sometime) even yelling a little bit. They did it the right way. They took a stand, did everything they were asked to do, and left with their heads held high; earning a heightened respect from everyone they dealt with on their way out.
And when they returned, they came back with a piece of the puzzle that had been missing from the Divas division. They returned with “Total Divas” – the vehicle the entire Divas division has driven to new heights of acceptance and mainstream recognition. I’ve often wondered why AJ wasn’t part of the show. Obviously, she’s a unique character and an an extremely talented wrestler. I would have really enjoyed the opportunity to see her outside the ring – to see how much AJ the performer and AJ the character had in common. I could completely understand any hard feelings she might harbor against the Bellas in that regard. But the idea that the Bellas haven’t worked for everything they’ve received is just plain wrong from this Hall of Famer’s perspective.
The following are highlights from a new Jim Ross blog:
On his UK speaking tour: “Our UK Tour was a huge success. My thanks to all who attended and supported our inaugural journey especially PSI Events & @americansoda. We sold out Cardiff, London, and Glasgow while Manchester had the largest crowd vs Man U vs Chelsea in football just down the street. The Q&A’S with the fans were a blast. I had so much fun meeting the fans one on one even though our unique accents were both humorous & challenging to understand at times. :) Travel was challenging and aggressive. As a great man once told me, “Sleep is our enemy” so I think we defeated our enemy on this trip. No sleep but a lifetime of memories. Lots of plans to do more Evening With…shows on the drawing board but time will tell. Stay tuned.”
On Monday’s edition of WWE RAW: “Stayed up LATE to watch RAW but it was worth it. Bravo to @CMPunk, @heymanhustle, & AJ Lee among many for a fun show. Raw has momentum and with so many new talents and issues evolving, the future is exciting.”
On upcoming tryout at WWE Performance Center: “Working a tryout camp Thursday & Friday at WWE Performance Center. Always looking for the next star. Good luck to all. Effort is your key. Be passionate. It’s your Wrestlemania.”

– Monday’s Raw saw AJ Lee unleash a scathing “pipe bomb” towards her fellow Divas as she passionately complained they were handed opportunities she had to sacrifice for. “You’re all worthless excuses for women, and you will never be able to touch me,” said Lee in her promo. “And that’s reality.” The official WWE website has issued a poll asking fans which person did she burn the worst during her tirade—The Bella Twins, The Funkadactyls, Natalya, Eva Marie, JoJo, or Tyson Kidd.
Though The Bella Twins were not specifically referenced in Lee’s tirade, they are currently leading the poll at 40%. They are trailed by Natalya, and Tyson Kidd, who she labeled as “not much of a man” based on his dealings with Natalya on Sunday’s episode of Total Divas.

WWE commissioned a company in Mahopac, New York to upgrade the center.
“WWE brought me in to do my thing, within the budget, not to give them more than they needed, but not undershoot either,” said Francis Manzella of Design Limited. “They gave me complete freedom in the design of the new room. I was told not to duplicate the old room [that Audio 3 replaced] nor the other audio post rooms in the facility.”

The Funkadactyls, Cameron and Naomi, have also tweeting their reactions, and they are as follows:
Cameron: “Aj you have “it” all because how many of the top guys have you been with? Oh and btw remember this boo, only way from top is bottom! #raw Did I forget mention @WWEAJLee I may not be a top girl but at least I can go to bed at night knowing I have a clean conscious. #girlbye”

-Due to the fact that WWE Divas will be part of the already scheduled mixed-tag match for the SummerSlam pay-per-view (Dolph Ziggler & Kaitlyn vs. Big E.
