Greatest Rumble Confirmed As WWE Network Special, WWE Botches Styles Graphic

– The 50-man “Greatest Royal Rumble” event scheduled for April 27th from Saudi Arabia has been confirmed to be a WWE Network special. If you are a WWE Network subscriber and attempt to cancel your account, WWE lists the upcoming Network specials that you’ll be missing out on – and the Greatest Royal Rumble is listed.

WWE announced earlier this week that the Greatest Royal Rumble event will feature 7 championship matches. Top stars advertised for the show include John Cena, Triple H, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles and Randy Orton. The Undertaker and Chris Jericho are also rumored for the show.

– On last night’s episode of SmackDown Live, WWE Champion AJ Styles was sitting ringside for Shinsuke Nakamura’s match against Rusev. After the match Aiden English and Rusev attacked Nakamura, and while Styles was taking his time getting ready to jump in and help out, the Japanese star rallied back and was able to fend the pair off himself.

Several fans pointed out that WWE botched the on-screen graphic that appeared when Styles was introduced. He was correctly listed as WWE Champion, however an image of the Untied States Championship was depicted.

AJ Styles Addresses If He’ll Miss WrestleMania Due To Injury

WWE Champion AJ Styles took part in a conference call with international media on Tuesday to promote WrestleMania and addressed his status for the show in light of his undisclosed injury.

To recap, WWE ran an injury angle at Friday’s live event from Madison Square Garden that saw Styles pulled from action. Styles was left off SmackDown live events on Saturday, Sunday and Monday – and was scheduled to be evaluated by WWE doctors backstage at RAW.

When asked on the conference call about his status for WrestleMania, Styles made it clear that his WWE Championship defense against Shinsuke Nakamura will take place as scheduled. Styles stated bluntly,

“If my leg got cut off, I’d find a way to make it to WrestleMania.”

Styles added, “I will be wrestling Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania. Don’t worry about it, it will be fine.

The WWE Champion was reportedly set to met with WWE doctors backstage at Monday’s RAW. No word yet on how that evaluation went, but it seems like the Styles vs. Nakamura dream match is safe.

AJ Styles Injury Update

WWE Champion AJ Styles is dealing with an undisclosed injury and will be evaluated by WWE doctors backstage at tonight’s RAW, according to a report at PWInsider.

Styles was scheduled to work this past weekend’s WWE live events, but only appeared at Friday night’s show from Madison Square Garden. Styles was advertised to team with Shinsuke Nakamura against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, but that match never took place due to Zayn and Owens attacking Styles before the match.

Fans on Twitter freaked out at the prospect that AJ Styles might be injured with less than three weeks until WrestleMania.

Shinsuke Nakamura wound up defeating Kevin Owens in singles action, with AJ Styles making the save afterwards when Owens and Zayn were attacking Nakamura.

At this weekend’s SmackDown live events, Randy Orton subbed in for AJ Styles, teaming with Nakamura against Zayn and Owens.

As of this writing, AJ Styles is still scheduled to defend the WWE Championship against SShinsuke Nakamura at Wrestlemania 34 on April 8th.

AJ Styles Announced As Injured Again By WWE, Official WrestleMania 34 Poster Is Missing One Top Superstar (Photo)

– WWE Champion AJ Styles missed last night’s live event in San Angelo, Texas after it was once again announced he was injured. “The Phenomenal One” also missed Saturday’s live event from Odessa, Texas after suffering a storyline injury at Friday’s Madison Square Garden live event due to a beatdown from Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

It’s unknown if this angle is being used to rest Styles so he can heal a legitimate injury that has yet to be disclosed. He’s expected to defend his WWE Championship against 2018 Men’s Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura in a WWE dream match of sorts. We’ll keep you updated…

– WWE has released the official poster for WrestleMania 34, which features all Superstars expected to compete at the event smiling (except of course Triple H and Brock Lesnar). One top WWE Superstar missing from the poster, however, is The Undertaker. He is rumored to be taking on John Cena at the event. If that match is made official WWE will likely release another poster featuring “The Deadman” as well. Check out the poster here:

AJ Styles Addresses Why He Almost Returned To Impact Wrestling Before Signing With WWE

WWE Champion AJ Styles recently spoke with former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia on her Chasing Glory podcast. During the interview, he talked about the decline of TNA from 2009-2010.

Styles made his name known while in TNA Wrestling, now known as Impact Wrestling, from 2002–2013 well before he signed with the sports entertainment company.

While in the promotion, Styles held the NWA World Heavyweight Championship three times and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship twice. Also, he was the first holder of the X Division Championship, a title he held six times.

“When you want to become a lesser version of something else, and when I say that, I mean WWE Light, you’re not giving people an alternative.” Styles added, “if they want to watch WWE, they’re going to watch WWE. You’ve got to be something different, so they went with a regular square ring. I thought that was a big mistake. You [brought] in guys that I don’t know people wanted to see anymore because they had grown so used to a certain style of wrestling that was happening at TNA. There were a lot of things that [brought] it down and it was guys like Christian and Kurt [Angle] who came over before all this happened that really sparked TNA and made it something bigger. It was growing because of them. But around 2009, 2010, around there, they forgot who they were and didn’t rely on the guys that got them there to the ballgame in the first place, the big game, anyway. And therefore, it started going downhill.”

“Despite all that, I saw myself as, ‘this is my home,’ and I was loyal to TNA,” Styles reflected. “But when you don’t allow me to provide for my family the way I think I should be able to by all the time and all the years I put in, well then, it’s not making much sense to me. And so, ultimately, that’s why I left, because they wanted me to take less than I was making. I hadn’t done anything wrong and I tried to be the best ambassador for the company that I could. A lot of things I thought I did right, but they didn’t see it that way, so I left. I bet on myself and I left.”

In 2014, Styles signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) and won his first of two IWGP Heavyweight Championships in his debut match with the company.

Styles first appeared on WWE television in 2002 but turned down a developmental contract he was offered by the company.

He signed a multi-year contract with WWE fourteen years later in January 2016 and made his re-debut at that month’s Royal Rumble. Also during this interview, he addressed his decision to go to WWE despite being offered a deal by TNA.

“It wasn’t too long after that [NJPW stint] that TNA came back to me and said, ‘okay, we’ll give you pretty much when you’re asking for to come back.’” Styles elaborated, “I said, ‘well, I’m not coming back without somebody. I need Anderson and Gallows.’ I said, ‘I want them to come with me.’ We actually had a meeting over at Dixie Carter’s house. There were still some things we weren’t sure about and I had talked to WWE a little bit, but they hadn’t gotten back to me, so I just assumed they had other things going on. They didn’t need AJ Styles, which… WWE is a big place. I get it. I’m not the most important person in the world. I know that. But luckily, Triple H and I, we had a great conversation, like a 30-minute conversation the first time we talked. I said, ‘oh, this is going well.’ And within a week, the ball really started rolling.”

Alexa Bliss Reacts To Asuka’s WrestleMania Decision, Mojo Rawley On “You Can’t Wrestle” Chants

– As we’ve noted, Asuka chose to challenge Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34 for the SmackDown Live Women’s Title. The 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble winner had her choice between Flair or RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. Despite currently being a Superstar on RAW, “The Empress Of Tomorrow” decided to challenge SmackDown Live’s top woman instead. Bliss took to Twitter to react to Asuka’s decision:

– On the Fastlane pre-show last night Breezango teamed up with Tye Dillinger to defeat Mojo Rawley, Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin in a Six-Man Tag Team match. During the match Rawley was receiving “You can’t wrestle” chants from the crowd. He took to Twitter to react after the show:

AJ Styles & Shinsuke Nakamura Hype WrestleMania 34 Match, Asuka Confirms She’s Challenging Charlotte For The SDL Women’s Title (Video)

– WWE Champion AJ Styles successfully retained his title in a Six Pack Challenge at last night’s Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV) event. “The Phenomenal One” will now go on to defend his strap in a dream match against 2018 Men’s Royal Rumble winner Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania 34. Both men took to Twitter to hype the upcoming title bout:

– Speaking of Royal Rumble winners, 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Asuka appeared at Fastlane after Charlotte Flair successfully defended her SmackDown Live Women’s Title against Ruby Riot. She confronted Flair and pointed at the WrestleMania 34 sign, indicating her choice to challenge Flair at the event.

Although she didn’t verbally confirm her decision during the segment, a post-event interview with Cathy Kelly confirmed “The Empress Of Tomorrow” did in fact choose Flair for WrestleMania:

John Cena Congratulates AJ Styles After WWE Fastlane, AJ Styles Warns Shinsuke Nakamura (Videos)

AJ Styles defended his WWE Championship at Fastlane in a Six-Pack Challenge against John Cena, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler and Baron Corbin. On this past Monday’s episode of RAW, Cena claimed that he was going to win the title and dared AJ Styles to invoke his rematch clause and make it a Triple Threat match at WrestleMania between Cena, Styles and Nakamura.

Cena stated that this was his last chance at making it to WrestleMania. He admitted that he failed at Elimination Chamber, but vowed to capture the WWE Championship at Fastlane. However, Cena once again came up short at WWE Fastlane 2018 and AJ Styles retained his WWE Championship. After the match, Cena raised AJ Styles’ hand and then clapped for him on the entrance ramp.

After his victory, WWE Champion AJ Styles was interviewed backstage by Cathy Kelley. AJ was asked about overcoming the odds and walking out of WWE Fastlane as the WWE Champion. Styles immediately brought up Shinsuke Nakamura and the dream match that is now official for WrestleMania 34. AJ said that now that the match is official, he is going to kick Shinsuke Nakamura’s ass at WrestleMania.

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura posted the following tweets after WWE Fastlane:

AJ Styles Opens Up On Potential Match With Shinsuke Nakamura At WrestleMania 34

WWE Champion AJ Styles recently spoke with former WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia on her Chasing Glory podcast. During the interview, he talked about working with Jinder Mahal.

If you recall, Styles won the WWE Title from Mahal late last year on an episode of SmackDown Live.

“At first, it was different. Jinder came in and went straight to the top when he came to SmackDown and it was a position he wasn’t in. And when you get to this upper level, things change in the way that you work in the ring, the way you act, everything. And he had to learn really quick basically how to be a big star in WWE, which sounds easy, but it’s not.”

“He took it well. I literally said, ‘Jinder, what do you think?’ I wanted to know what he thought, if he was okay with it, because that’s important to me that, ‘I’m not better than you. You’ve been a great champion. What do you think, man?’ and he was okay with it. Again, he has been in the business for a while now, so he was very mature in the way he handled it and I appreciate that. Sometimes you have to wait your tour and sometimes it takes longer than you’d like, but eventually you’ll be back on top.”

With SmackDown star Shinsuke Nakamura winning this year’s Royal Rumble match, he has secured a WWE Title match at WrestleMania 34.

If Styles is able to retain his title at the Fastlane pay-per-view event against John Cena, Baron Corbin, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Dolph Ziggler in a Six Pack Challenge, then he will face Nakamura at the biggest event of the year for the sports entertainment company.

“There could be a chance of headlining WrestleMania this year. I’ve got to make it through Fastlane before I can do this, but if I get the opportunity to wrestle Shinsuke Nakamura at WrestleMania, a match that no one has seen on U.S. soil, and only happened once in Japan, this could be huge. I need some payback [for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 10], but he doesn’t have the home field advantage this time. So it’s exciting to think that something like that could happen, even if it’s not the main event. They’re going to wish it had been. I expect this match to be amazing. Nakamura is a great talent here and I feel like were going to tear the place apart to be honest with you.”

AJ Styles Comments on CM Punk Possibly Returning to the WWE

It’s been several years since A.J. Styles crossed paths with CM Punk when both performers were working on the independent circuit before each of them became superstars in the WWE.

Most recently, Styles has become one of the most recognizable names on the WWE roster where he currently reigns as heavyweight champion.

Meanwhile, Punk is still pursuing his second mixed martial arts fight in the UFC after leaving WWE a few years ago after his contract expired while also being locked in a dispute with the company.

While Punk has given no indication that he’d ever return to wrestling much less work with WWE again, it’s tough to ignore the fantasy matchmaking to see him mixing it up with Styles in a pairing that would pit two of the best in the business against each other.

For his part, Styles knows that ultimately money will probably play a part in whether Punk decides to return to wrestling or not but he also knows some burnt bridges can never be rebuilt.

“Money talks but there’s some issues there that I don’t know enough about. A lot of guys [ have had issues] and like I said money talks,” Styles told “Loper and Randi In the Morning” on Friday ahead of his appearance at WWE Fastlane in Columbus, OH.

“But some guys have bigger issues than others. Who knows.”

The ‘bigger issues’ likely references Punk’s ongoing lawsuit with WWE doctor Chris Amann, who sued the former pro wrestler after comments he made about being mistreated by the physician while on the company’s roster.

There have been rumors that the lawsuit will go to trial soon but it’s unknown if that will put an end to the feud between Punk and the WWE or only further escalate it.

Either way it certainly seems fun to think about pairing up Styles and Punk for a match one day in the future.

Would you like to see AJ Styles take on CM Punk in the WWE? Sound off in the comments and let us know.

AJ Styles Is Not Interested In John Cena’s WrestleMania 34 Match Proposal

WWE Champion AJ Styles recently joined Busted Open Radio with David LaGreca and Mark Henry to discuss his upcoming Six Pack Challenge WWE Title defense against John Cena, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, and Dolph Ziggler. “The Phenomenal One” sung Cena’s praises and called him one of the greatest of all time:

“I’m not saying that John is a great athlete, I don’t want to discredit who John is,” Styles said. “He’s not known for his moveset. But his psychology is unbelievable! Like, he gets it on another level. It makes up for things he lacks in his moveset because he’s so unbelievable in that ring. When he and I work together… I say him signing something, and he is a leftie, he uses his left hand.

“I said, ‘that’s gotta be what it is John, that’s why we work so well together, because you’re a leftie and I’m a rightie and it just works.’ We’re different in every way, but we keep on putting on great matches.”

On RAW this week Cena suggested a Triple Threat match at WrestleMania between himself, AJ Styles, and Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Title. Styles said that he doesn’t want that match to happen as he wants Nakamura all to himself:

“I guess John Cena was on RAW last night saying that he’s going to win [at Fastlane] and I should invoke my rematch clause at WrestleMania so that it can be a three-way between myself, Nakamura and John Cena,” Styles said. “Well I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to lose this match coming up at Fastlane. I want Nakamura all to myself.

“I’ve got a score to settle with Nakamura,” Styles admitted. “We had a match – one match – between him and I in Japan. He took that match, he won that one. He had home field advantage. I want the home field advantage this time and we’ll see what happens. I want him all to myself.”

WWE SmackDown Live (March 6) Preview: Two Matches Announced

It’s Tuesday and that means another episode of SmackDown Live is upon us.

Tonight (March 6), the show takes place inside the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. WWE.com has rolled out their preview for tonight’s episode. The show has two matches and one segment set. WWE is also teasing conflict between two female superstars.

The Lowdown

WWE champion AJ Styles is set to take on one of his Fastlane opponents in a non-title bout. He’ll meet Dolph Ziggler, who got a measure of revenge on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn last week. After losing to John Cena, Styles will look to redeem himself on the go-home show.

An old rivalry will be renewed. Randy Orton will do battle with Jinder Mahal. Back in May 2017, Mahal shocked the world when he defeated Orton for the WWE title. That rivalry sparked the return of the Punjabi Prison match. They’ll meet again tonight just five days before Orton challenges Bobby Roode for the United States championship.

Ruby Riott has been a thorn in the side of SmackDown Women’s champion Charlotte. Riott is the last member of the Riott Squad for Charlotte to take out. Before their title match at Fastlane, the two will have a faceoff.

Becky Lynch and Money in The Bank holder Carmella have been at odds on social media. Things got heated enough for Lynch to challenge Carmella to a match tonight. We’ll see how it all plays out tonight on SmackDown Live at 8 p.m. ET.

AJ Styles Reacts To Fastlane Main Event Change (Video), Bayley On Possible Sasha Banks Feud, Jinder Mahal

Per the stipulation, Cena has now earned himself into the WWE Championship match on the Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV) next month. The match will now be a Six Pack Challenge between AJ Styles, John Cena, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, and Dolph Ziggler. WWE posted the following video of Dasha Fuentes interviewing the WWE Champ after his loss. Check it out:

– RAW Superstar Bayley was recently interviewed by The Mirror following WWE’s Elimination Chamber PPV this past weekend. “The Hugger” was asked about a possible feud with her former NXT rival and friend Sasha Banks. Here’s what she had to say:

“I would love for that to happen and I really do think that we have such a great chemistry and it’s just a natural bond, that it doesn’t matter when it happens, we can pick it up anywhere,” Bayley said. “Not to sound cocky or anything, but I just think we have a really good connection. Whenever we have the time to tell that story, we would be able to. And last night after what she did, I think now is a good time! So I would love to start that up and get some payback.”

Two Top WWE Stars Could Be Switching Brands Soon

With WrestleMania 34 around the corner some big change-ups to the roster can be expected after “The Show Of Shows.” This could include another possible Superstar Shake-Up. That means top Superstars could be getting ready to switch brands, and per a report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that could include Seth Rollins and WWE Champion AJ Styles switching brands.

This is in an effort to freshen up potential feuds and matches on RAW and SmackDown Live. It’s believed backstage that Roman Reigns has primarily run through all the top contenders on RAW at the moment, so bringing over some new faces for him to feud with would be integral for him to have a good run as Universal Champion. With Styles going to RAW it would leave a big hole in the SmackDown Live roster, thus the reason to move Rollins over to Tuesday nights.

It would also be consistent with the new push he has been receiving from WWE brass as of late. Rollins would continue to be built up as the face of SmackDown. If WWE does do this it will take place by way of the rumored draft after WrestleMania. This weekend Rollins will be part of the first-ever Seven-Man Elimination Chamber match. The winner will go on to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34.

Styles is scheduled to defend his WWE Title in a Fatal Five-Way against Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, and Dolph Ziggler. That will take place at WWE’s Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV) event next month on March 11th.

AJ Styles Reacts to Jeff Jarrett’s WWE Hall of Fame Induction (Video)

WWE recently posted an interview with AJ Styles reacting to the news of Jeff Jarrett’s Hall of Fame induction.

Styles and Jarrett have a history together. When Jarrett was running the show for TNA Wrestling, now known as Impact Wrestling, Jarrett relied on Styles to be the top guy. “The Phenomenal One” used to be referred to as “Mr. TNA.”

During the interview, Styles expressed his joy with Jarrett’s induction:

“When I heard that Jeff Jarrett was being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame I was super excited, so excited for him. Listen, Jeff started in the WWE. There were other things before that, but WWE is where he made a name for himself I think. I’ve worked with Jeff a lot. I’ve got to know Jeff personally, so (with) everything that he’s done for me I can’t help but be excited for him and proud that he’s gonna be in the WWE Hall of Fame.”

Rough Times

Styles also said that Jarrett has had to deal with adversity in his personal life.

“Well I’ve gotta tell you, Jeff has been through a lot with his wife passing. I was with him during that. It was a tough time for him, but for everything that he’s been through and to fight through, I’m just glad to be a friend of his. He’s got a great family and (I’m) just glad to be around him.”

WWE Teases Rey Mysterio vs. AJ Styles (Video), Sean Waltman Related To Florida School Shooting Victim

AJ Styles: Ronda Rousey Could Be The Next Kurt Angle In WWE

TMZ caught up with WWE Champion AJ Styles over the weekend and asked him about Ronda Rousey joining the promotion. Styles, widely considered one of the top pro wrestlers in the world, has high expectations for Rousey inside the squared circle. Notably, he compared Rousey to Kurt Angle, who made the jump from Olympic wrestling to WWE back in 1998.

“Let me tell you about someone who came in kinda like Ronda did and learned [snaps fingers] like that,” Styles said. “Kurt Angle! I don’t know if you remember Kurt coming in like that and went straight to the top.”

Styles put over Rousey’s athletic credentials, claiming that she’ll be a quick learner who has the potential to learn pro wrestling like Angle famously did during his rookie year.

“Now he was an Olympic Champion but he didn’t have the name recognition that Ronda has. Ronda though, she’s an athlete man. She can adapt, that’s what she does. She’ll learn quick. She’ll be a sponge. She will be up there with the Kurt Angles and everyone else that has gone into the Hall of Fame.”

The Phenomenal One named Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks as opponents he’d like to see Ronda Rousey work with You can check out Styles’ comments about Ronda Rousey joining WWE here:

IMPACT Wrestling VP Wants AJ Styles Back, John Cena Officiates A Wedding (Video)

– Scott D’Amore, IMPACT Wrestling’s Vice President, was recently a guest on the Sitting Ringside with David Penzer podcast. During the episode Penzer asked D’Amore who he’d like to build IMPACT around if they were available. D’Amore made it very clear that one day he wants to see “The Phenomenal One” back in an IMPACT Wrestling ring:

“God, that’s a tough question!” D’Amore said. “A.J. [Styles] was the face of this company for so long, and I have to think somewhere in the back of my mind, very deep in my heart, there’s one day that A.J. steps back in an Impact ring and has that homecoming moment!”

– John Cena was again on TODAY this morning and actually officiated a wedding. He also made a joke about his “You Can’t See Me” catchphrase. Watch the segment here:

AJ Styles & Dolph Ziggler React To Fastlane Change, Why Tye Dillinger Hasn’t Been On WWE TV

– Earlier today SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon announced on Twitter that the Triple Threat match between AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn for the WWE Title at Fastlane will now be a Fatal Four-Way match. Next week’s SmackDown Live match between Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler will determine the fourth entrant. AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler took to Twitter to react to the news:

https://twitter.com/HEELZiggler/status/961645478214385664?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mandatory.com%2Fwrestlezone%2Fnews%2F922559-ziggler-reacts-huge-stip-added-to-his-match-w-corbin-wwe-wishes-big-show-neidhart-a-happy-birthday

– As he was discussing SmackDown Live’s Top 10 list on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed why Tye Dillinger has been kept off WWE TV. Meltzer revealed WWE doesn’t want fans doing the “10” chant anymore:

“Dillinger is just a guy on the brand that works prelims and they put him at number 10 and it makes for a cute minute for people to chant 10, which they don’t even want people to chant anyway. That’s why they keep him off TV so much because they don’t want people chanting 10. So the whole thing is completely stupid.”

AJ Styles On Shawn Michaels Turning Down A WrestleMania Match With Him

Current WWE Champion AJ Styles recently did an interview with India Today to talk about several professional wrestling topics. One such topic was the rumored match that was planned between himself and WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels at last year’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV). It turns out that Michaels shot the idea down:

“He [Michaels] said no. I’m not doing it. But being in the ring with someone like Shawn Michaels or the Undertaker and being able to learn from those guys will be a blessing. I would love to be in the ring with Shawn Michaels. Similar size, similar styles and to be in the ring with someone like that and all the knowledge he has. It would be a classic.”

“The Phenomenal One” was also asked about how he thinks “The Modern Day Maharaja” Jinder Mahal is doing in WWE. Styles said Mahal is doing great and he has all the makings of being the star he already is:

“Jinder is doing great. He has everything that he has got here. Looks like a star, acts like a star. That’s why he is one. He is perfect for the WWE, perfect for India. He is great and to see him be the star and come along is really cool. This business is really tough and Jinder went through some tough times in this business and now to see him where he is after all the hard work he has put in, he deserves everything and he has earned everything in the WWE.”

Did AJ Styles Get Heat For Hulk Hogan Reference On RAW 25?, Roderick Strong Earns Title Opportunity (Video)

– During his interview with “Mean” Gene Okerlund on RAW 25 last month, WWE Champion AJ Styes mimicked Hulk Hogan in his promo. Per a report from Sports Illustrated, Styles did not take any heat for the segment as it was completely scripted.

Styles reportedly asked if he could mimic Hogan out of respect as they grew close to one another in TNA. It should also be pointed out that WWE put the clip on their YouTube channel, something they wouldn’t do if there was an issue with Styles’ promo:

– On last night’s episode of NXT Roderick Strong defeated Tyler Bate to become the new No. 1-contender for the WWE UK Championship. That title is currently held by Pete Dunne. Strong and Dunne had a brief encounter after the match backstage which you can check out below:

How WWE Will Determine Fastlane Main Event, US Title Match Set For Next Week

Next week’s WWE SmackDown in Kansas City will feature Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens to crown a new #1 contender to the WWE Title. The winner will go on to face WWE Champion AJ Styles in the main event of the March 11th WWE Fastlane pay-per-view from Columbus, Ohio, which will be the final pay-per-view before WrestleMania 34.

Sami vs. Owens was made after SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan acknowledged the referee made a bad call in AJ’s 2-on-1 Handicap Match win over Sami and Owens at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view on Sunday.

Next Tuesday’s SmackDown will also feature WWE United States Champion Bobby Roode defending his title against Rusev. Rusev earned the title shot by winning a Fatal 4 Way over Kofi Kingston, Jinder Mahal and Zack Ryder on tonight’s SmackDown.
