Charlotte Flair Says She’s Pitched To Be Paired With Andrade In WWE

Charlotte Flair is engaged to fellow WWE Superstar, Andrade. During a recent interview with TV Insider, Charlotte noted that she has pitched WWE to work with her fiancé on-screen.

“I’ve actually pitched that,” Flair said when asked about working with Andrade. “I would be very much open to that. I’ve done a lot in my career, but nobody has seen me in an on-cam relationship, or in that light. I can come across cold on TV.”

Andrade has not been a fixture on WWE programming since the fall. His lat official match with WWE was on October 12th, 2020 in a loss to Angel Garza.

Flair also spoke about her segment with her father from the February 22nd edition of RAW.

“I loved the back-and-forth because originally it wasn’t supposed to be that way. My dad comes from an era where he can cut a promo and not have to memorize things. I’m so in the zone right now where for the first time in my career I’m comfortable to ad lib out there. I’m an emotional person as it is, so trying to channel certain things that have frustrated me was very easy. I was never expecting to be back on screen with my dad in 2021 and have him across the ring from me [supporting someone else]. So I was able to bring out certain emotions.”

Andrade Undergoing Procedure, Will Miss In-Ring Action

Andrade was not drafted during this year’s WWE Draft nor was he signed as a “free agent” to either RAW or SmackDown.

As a result, it caused speculation that he could be returning to NXT. Whether he does go back to NXT remains to be seen, but there’s a reason as to why he wasn’t selected in the Draft.

Wrestling Inc reports that Andrade is undergoing a minor elective procedure and is expected to be out of action for a month.

Andrade joined Mickie James as the only two stars not drafted following the conclusion of night two of the WWE Draft. James is currently out of action with a broken nose, which will prevent her from wrestling for a couple of weeks.

Andrade was last seen in action on Monday’s episode of RAW where he dropped a loss to Angel Garza in a singles match. Post-match, Andrade, and Zelina Vega were attacked by Bray Wyatt and Alexa Bliss.

The NXT speculation came about when he tweeted and deleted “thank you,” but that was quickly cleared up by Charlotte Flair. His girlfriend stated that he was simply wishing Vega well as they go their separate ways. However, he then shared a photo of himself with the NXT Title.

As of this writing, Andrade nor WWE has commented on his status and when he’ll be placed on a brand.

Update On Plans For Andrade & Mickie James Following WWE Draft

Several talents were left undrafted after the 2020 Draft concluded with this week’s episode of Raw and after WWE announced some more draft picks during the night, there are two talents which have been left without a brand.

Pwinsider recently provided some updates on the future of both these stars in Mickie James and Andrade. According to their report, the plan as of this past Monday night was for both Andrade and Mickie James to join the Raw roster:

“As of last night, the plan is for the Andrade and Mickie James, the two talents left undrafted following the 2020 Draft to land on the Monday Night Raw roster.”

There has also been some buzz of Andrade moving back to the NXT brand.

Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer believes that Vince McMahon never “got it” with Andrade. When Paul Heyman was removed as the Executive Director of WWE Raw earlier this year, Andrade lost a key ally.

The 2020 edition of WWE Draft saw a number of big stars changing brands including names like Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, and the Fiend being moved to different rosters. You can check out the updated rosters of Raw and SmackDown after both nights of Draft at this link.

Updated: Former NXT Champion Among Names To Become Free Agents After Draft

Update: WWE revealed some additional draft picks over the night. They announced that Erik of the Viking Raiders has been picked up by Raw while Billie Kay, Zelina Vega, and Tamina Snuka have all been drafted to SmackDown.

The WWE drafts continued on night two of the event during this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw and supplement draft picks were made on the Raw Talk following the show as well.

However, even after this, a number of high profile names have been left undrafted and per the rules, they have now become free agents and they are free to sign with the brand of their choosing..

The names which have become free agents after not being drafted include Andrade, Billie Kay, Erik, Tamina Snuka, Zelina Vega, Gran Metalik, Lince Dorado, Mickie James.

Out of these 8, the most interesting names to have not been picked up during the TV drafts have to be of Andrade and the former IIconics member Billie Kay.

There were reports of Paul Heyman being high on both Aleister Black and Andrade before he was removed from the position of Executive Director of Raw and this change made people curious about the future of both the stars.

While WWE looks to have plans for Aleister Black who has recently turned heel, the fact that the former NXT and US Champion Andrade was not even drafted is making fans worried.

Similarly, it was said that Vince McMahon was a fan of Peyton Royce and after the break up of IIconics and latest drafts, the future does not look very bright for Billie Kay and we will have to see if the company has any plans for her.

Backstage News On The Future Of WWE Tag Team

WWE has been teasing the break up for the team of Andrade and Angel Garza for a while now and latest reports suggest that we may have already seen the last of the two together.

WWE officials have made the decision to split the duo and they are not expected to be seen together after Garza returns to action, per a report at Pwinsider.

For those who don’t know, Angel Garza suffered a torn quad during his tag team match at the Clash Of Champions PPV. He had teamed up with Andrade to challenge the Street Profits for the Raw tag team titles at the show.

However, the injury caused this match for the Raw tag team championships to be cut short and it helped the champions in retaining their title at the PPV.

While WWE has not provided any update on his status, the high flying star himself revealed on his YouTube channel that he is not expected to stay out of action for long and he should be back in the ring within a few weeks.

This is not a big surprise as WWE has been teasing the break up of this tag team for a while and just recently their manager Zelina Vega also left the group to focus on her own singles career.

Now with the drafts set to begin on this week’s episode of SmackDown, the big question is if we are going see the two getting drafted to different brands as well, to effectively end their pairing.

Zelina Vega Says Her Group Could Be “Doing More” on Monday Night RAW

WWE Superstar and RAW personality Zelina Vega recently appeared on SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio. Vega appeared on the show to discuss her recent on-screen managerial role, and if she feels there can be more done to push herself and the group featuring Andrade, Angel Garza and formerly Austin Theory.

Zelina Vega on Scratching The Surface

“I do I feel that this is just scratching the surface” Vega began when describing the group. “When it came to me and Andrade in NXT? We were just, you know, it was like thunder happened and it was great together in NXT; but I think that shows where we can go and that we can even surpass that.”

Zelina Vega would elaborate further, saying “I feel that there’s so much more that can be done and we’re just finally getting the chance to show that. So do I feel like as a group we can be doing more? Absolutely. Do I feel by myself I can be doing more? Yeah, absolutely, you know, but it comes down to getting that opportunity to do that.”

Vega would finish by saying how she is constantly trying to prove herself on Monday nights. “Right now I feel like I’m constantly trying to prove myself. I’m totally okay with that because at the end of the day? It’s like ‘okay, who’s the one you know not striking out? Who’s the one who’s here constantly? Who’s the one who’s working hard and more than enough?’ My name is gonna keep coming up.”

Andrade Retains United States Title At WWE Elimination Chamber

The reign as WWE United States Champion for Andrade hasn’t come to an end as Humberto Carrillo wasn’t the man to dethrone him.

As seen at Sunday’s (March 8, 2020) WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Wells Fargo Center on the WWE Network, Andrade beat Carrillo to retain the title by using the tights.

A potential title change was heavily speculated on by fans despite it being reported last month.

Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated reported that Andrade’s days as champion were numbered. The reason for that is due to Andrade serving a suspension for failing a Wellness Policy test at the time. This was the Superstar’s first violation of the company’s Wellness Policy.

Last December, during a house show at MSG, Andrade defeated Rey Mysterio to win the United States Championship for the first time.

Time will tell whether WWE continues this feud or goes into a different direction heading into the WrestleMania 36 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Tampa, Florida at the Raymond James Stadium.

Andrade Shares Message Ahead Of In-Ring Return

Current WWE United States Champion Andrade is set to return to in-ring action following his 30-day Wellness Policy suspension. Ahead of his return at WWE Super ShowDown, Andrade took to his Twitter account with a purposeful message:

“Support me, motivate me or get out of my way. I start the week and you ? Apóyame, motiva o quítate de mi camino!!! Empezamos la semana y tu ? #Andrade #FaceOfLatinos #MyTime #Diez

Andrade is set to compete in a Gauntlet Match at WWE Super ShowDown. He joins AJ Styles, Rusev, Bobby Lashley, R-Truth and Erick Rowan in a matchup to win the Tuwaiq Mountain Trophy.

Andrade’s First Post

Following his initial suspension, the Champion posted a photo of himself as a boy to Instagram. He accompanied the image with the following caption:

“Never give up because things got tough, remember where you come from and where you are going.”

Andrade was last on WWE television on the Monday Night RAW following January’s Royal Rumble. He competed in a matchup against Humberto Carillo. Andrade would be disqualified after his business manager Zelina Vega interfered. Carillo would become frustrated by these events and subsequently attacked Andrade after the match, delivering a Hammerlock DDT onto the concrete outside the ring.

WWE Super ShowDown takes place on February 27th from Mohammed Abdu Arena on the Boulevard in Saudi Arabia.

Details On Top WWE Raw Star Potentially Dropping Title Soon

It appears that WWE United States Champion Andrade could be counting down the days of his title reign on Raw.

Andrade’s days as champion are numbered, according to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. As of this writing, there’s no word on if the title change could be due to the most recent situation that put him on the sidelines.

He’s currently serving a suspension for failing a Wellness Policy test. This is the Superstar’s first violation of the company’s Wellness Policy.

What is known is that Andrade is scheduled to return from his 30-day suspension at WWE Super ShowDown.

WWE presents the pay-per-view event on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the Mohammed Abdou Arena that will air on the WWE Network.

WWE has already announced him for a Gauntlet Match for the Tuwaiq Mountain Trophy. This contest will also feature Rusev, R-Truth, Erick Rowan, Bobby Lashley, and AJ Styles.

Up to his suspension, he had been feuding with Rey Mysterio then back into a feud with Humberto Carrillo. Since Andrade has been on the sidelines, WWE put Angel Garza with Andrade’s normal manager, Zelina Vega, on Monday Night RAW.

Rey Mysterio Expresses Interest In Mask vs. Hair Match At WrestleMania 36

Andrade Makes First Public Comments Since Suspension

WWE United States Champion Andrade has been suspended by WWE for 30 days. The suspension is due to the Superstar’s first violation of the company’s Wellness Policy. WWE has not announced what caused Andrade to fail the test.

Andrade posted the following to social media recently:

https://www.instagram.com/p/B76ffSwnJFR/

“Never give up because things got tough, remember where you come from and where you are going.”

Andrade Suspended From WWE

Andrade also recently spoke to Seconds Out about his initial frustrations while training at the WWE Performance Center.

“When you would work out with the guys who have never wrestled in their life? I’ve been wrestling for nine years in this moment and some of these guys don’t know a wristlock, or waist lock, or headlock,” Andrade explained. “I stay in the corner and say, ‘Ugh! Three hours?’ Because the class is three hours.”

“I have to stay in the ring because I’m learning headlocks, or a spot, or a little wrestling. And I’ll say, ‘Okay, Norman Smiley, next.’ People are standing in the ring while he says, ‘A headlock is this, a headlock is this, a headlock is this.’ Norman Smiley keeps saying wait, wait, and he understands because he speaks Spanish and says, ‘Hey, tranquilo, tranquilo, tranquilo, relax, wait, wait.’”

WWE Suspends Andrade For Violating ‘Wellness’ Drug Policy

WWE United States Champion Andrade (Manuel Oropeza) has been suspended from WWE for wellness policy violation. The company announced the news Tuesday afternoon.

He was reportedly told about the suspension this Monday morning, though at the moment it’s unknown what substance the champion was tested positive for.

Andrade defended his US Championship against Humberto Carrillo in a singles match at the pre-show of last night’s Royal Rumble PPV where he retained his title.

The former NXT Champion then faced Carrillo once again in a Royal Rumble rematch on Monday’s WWE Raw. This time Andrade was disqualified from the bout due to interference from his business manager Zelina Vega.

Vega’s interference angered Humberto, who attacked Andrade after the match was over and then delivered a Hammerlock DDT on the concrete outside of the ring.

It’s believed that the angle was done to write the US Champion off of the WWE television and the company is already teasing the same on their website.

Since this is the first violation of the wellness policy for Andrade, he is expected to be suspended for a period of 30 days, before returning to WWE TV.

Rey Mysterio Expresses Interest In Mask vs. Hair Match At WrestleMania 36

Rey Mysterio recently spoke with TV Insider where he spoke about how WWE United States Champion Andrade reminds him of WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero.

This is where the idea of a potential Mask vs. Title match between himself and Andrade at WrestleMania 36 was brought up.

This comes after Andrade recently snatched Rey’s mask off during a post-match angle. Andrade just retained the United States Title over Mysterio in a Ladder match on last Monday’s episode of RAW.

Mysterio noted that he would be willing to do a Mask vs. Hair match at WrestleMania 36, which he thinks would be a huge stepping stone for them

“I think something along the ways that if he wants to keep feuding and going a step further, I’m willing to put my mask on the line versus his hair for a WrestleMania moment. Whatever the case might be, whoever ends up winning, I think it would be a huge stepping stone for either of us.

As far as moments, I really would love to relive a Royal Rumble moment, being that I hold the record right now for having the longest time in a Rumble match. These moments stick in my mind and heart. You always want to become better than you were yesterday.”

It appears that WWE is moving on from the Mysterio vs. Andrade feud as Andrade already has his next title defense booked.

Andrade will defend the United States Title against Humberto Carrillo at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.

Andrade Shares His Initial Frustrations In WWE’s Performance Center

Current WWE United States Champion Andrade and his fiancee Charlotte Flair were recent guests on Seconds Out. During the conversation, Andrade spoke about how he didn’t have much difficulty adjusting to WWE’s in-ring style. He credited his international experience with helping him make the adjustments. Andrade did, however, share some frustrations he experienced during his time in WWE’s Performance Center.

Andrade’s WWE PC Frustrations

Andrade confessed that he had difficulty with WWE’s demanding schedule. He compared it to his time wrestling on the indies and in Mexico, explaining how “you have your time” there. However, upon signing with WWE and moving to America, you’re suddenly locked into their regimented schedule, where “[…] you need to go the gym, you need promo, you need all this schedule. I don’t like schedules.”

Having had years of experience before stepping into a WWE ring, Andrade admitted he had problems attending lessons covering the basics:

“When you would workout with the guys who have never wrestled in their life? I’ve been wrestling for nine years in this moment and some of these guys don’t know a wrist lock, or waist lock, or head lock,” Andrade explained. “I stay in the corner and say, ‘Ugh! Three hours?’ Because the class is three hours.”

He continued,” I have to stay in the ring because I’m learning headlocks, or a spot, or a little wrestling. And I’ll say, ‘Okay, Norman Smiley, next.’ People are standing in the ring while he says, ‘A headlock is this, a headlock is this, a headlock is this.’ Norman Smiley keeps saying wait, wait, and he understands because he speaks Spanish and says, ‘Hey, tranquilo, tranquilo, tranquilo, relax, wait, wait.'”

“After that, you stay in promo class and between promo class with the English and Spanish,” Andrade continued. “Sometimes when I have my English class, I don’t get home until like 5 or 6 PM when I start my day at 8 AM. I think, ‘Oh, I’m so tired.’ From Monday to Thursday or Friday for one year? Whew, I’m so tired. It was a hard time for me but for now, I’m here. I have a beautiful lady that’s a superstar, my belt, and a good life.”

Andrade is scheduled to defend his United States Championship this Sunday at Royal Rumble against Humberto Carrillo. He recently retained his championship against Rey Mysterio in a Ladder Match.

Charlotte Flair: Not Being On Camera With Andrade Best For Us Right Now

Charlotte Flair says that she would love to team together with Andrade under the right circumstances, but his partnership with Zelina Vega is also important.

“So, for Andrade right now, the focus is having the US championship, and his bond with Zelina is so strong,” Charlotte told Metro UK.

Charlotte added that she and Andrade are open to the idea of being a mixed tag team or doing something together, but being separate on camera is best for them as for now.

“I think the two of us having separate storylines and not being together on camera is probably for the best right now. Definitely later down the road, we’re open to the idea of a mixed tag or doing something together. ‘But I think right now is a super important time in his career, and I wouldn’t want to interfere with how well Zelina and Manny work together.”

Andrade agreed with Charlotte and said that it would be a good idea to team up in the future. But he also highlighted Zelina Vega’s importance in his career.

“But now, Zelina’s been working with me for four years. I won the NXT title with Zelina, and now the United States championship,” said Andrade.

Andrade defeated Rey Mysterio at a WWE house show from Madison Square Garden on December 26, 2019, to become the WWE United States Champion.

The couple announced their engagement when Andrade asked the big question on New Year’s Eve and Charlotte said yes.

When a fan on Twitter once asked her how their relationship first began, Flair confessed that she was the one who made the first move, asking Karl Anderson if Andrade was his friend. She also revealed that their first date was at catering during a WWE show and that the first time she realized she was in love with him was when she almost “accidentally said it on our first boat trip!”

Ric Flair Issues High Praise To WWE Superstar

Ric Flair has issued some high-rise upon his soon-to-be son-in-law, Andrade. The WWE Hall of Famer took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the WWE United States Champion. He declared that after this past Monday’s episode of RAW, the Superstar has “Moved Into The Elite Class Of Being One Of The Top 5 Performers In The WWE!”

Ric Flair’s Elite Class

Flair shared how the other four Superstars already “Know Who They Are.” He revealed he has already spoken to them. For “The Nature Boy,” his top five rankings aren’t simply speculation, they’re fact. Ric Flair accompanied his thoughts with a picture of Andrade looking lovingly at his WWE US Championship. In the image, he is flanked by his manager, Zelina Vega.

“After Last Night’s RAW, In My Opinion, The Great @AndradeCienWWE Has Moved Into The Elite Class Of Being One Of The Top 5 Performers In The WWE! The Other 4 Know Who They Are Because I Have Already Told Them. This Isn’t Up For Speculation. This Is A Fact!”

Andrade’s Ambitions

Andrade recently shared his intentions to becomes the “new face” of Latinos. He noted how he is working towards securing his own personal legacy—one that respects and acknowledges those notable Latino Superstars before him but is distinctly his own. He proposed over the holidays to his now-fiancee, Charlotte Flair.

Andrade On Becoming The “New Face” For Latinos In WWE

The current WWE United States Champion, Andrade, has declared his intentions to become the “new face” for Latinos in the company. Speaking with The New York Post, Andrade addressed his ambitions and his commitment to learning English. He also broached whether he wants to be involved in a storyline with his fiancee, Charlotte Flair.

“Always Rey Mysterio was the face of Latinos [and] in the past Eddie Guerrero,” Andrade said. “Now is my moment to be the face of the Latinos in WWE. It looks strong to win the title, no? I’m more strong with more opportunities and focused on the next title. This is why I’m preparing and I’m working hard, so maybe in one year no more Rey Mysterio. I’m the new face and my legacy starts.”

Learning English

Regarding his goals to further learning English, Andrade revealed how he practices whenever he can. The champion shared how he and Charlotte Flair will work on his language skills on “every drive, on the side, when we’re home” in his efforts to get better.

“I am trying to practice for the future [for] great promos in English and a little Spanish, you know the promos before with Rey Mysterio and, in the past, Eddie Guerrero,” Andrade divulged.

Andrade And Charlotte Flair

With Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch having recently been involved in an on-air WWE storyline, fans may wonder whether the same could happen for Andrade and Charlotte Flair. When asked, Andrade was coy with his response, replying “Maybe in the future, but now she’s focused on her work. I’m focused on my work. Now Zelina’s in my corner. Maybe in the future, but not for now.”

He shared how he would love to have feuds with notable WWE Superstars. Andrade named Triple H and Roman Reigns as top-level Superstars he’d love to wrestle. His goal, however, remains unchanged: to become WWE’s next big Latino star.

Although respectful of his connection to those who have come before him, Andrade stressed that he is not the same as Eddie Guerrero or Rey Mysterio and that he is “working for my legacy.”

Charlotte Flair On How She And Andrade Began Dating

WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair recently took part in a Twitter Q&A session with her fans, utilizing the hashtag “#HappyWooYear.” Flair, who recently announced her engagement to RAW Superstar Andrade, answered questions regarding her relationship. She also addressed who she would like to compete against in 2020 and recalled Ric Flair’s impressions of her new fiancee when they first met.

When a fan asked her how their relationship first began, Flair confessed that she was the one who made the first move, asking Karl Anderson if Andrade was his friend. She also revealed that their first date was at catering during a WWE show and that the first time she realized she was in love with him was when she almost “accidentally said it on our first boat trip!”

As for her father’s impressions of Andrade when they first met, Charlotte recalled Ric saying “He’s a good wrestler!” Flair also took to Twitter to share his feelings on the engagement news.

Charlotte Flair also engaged with questions over who she’d like to face in the coming year. When asked to name the one person she hoped to have more matches with, Flair was succinct with her response, naming Alexa Bliss. She also expressed her interest in wrestling against WWE veteran Mickie James, declaring that they “need to have a match.”

Andrade On Winning The US Championship, Advice From Charlotte Flair

WWE United States Champion Andrade was recently interviewed by The New York Post. He took the opportunity to discuss his recent championship victory and his respect for the former U.S. Champion, Rey Mysterio. Andrade also shared the advice he has received from his fiancee Charlotte Flair.

Looking back at winning the United States Championship, Andrade noted how he not only defeated a Legend to do it but also managed to do it in the legendary arena, Madison Square Garden. “Rey Mysterio is a legend in Mexico and MSG is one of the most famous arenas in the world, to win the title is many dreams [for me],” he said. “Winning the title, that was my opportunity. Now is my moment.”

Andrade stressed that “Whenever Rey wants a match, I’m ready,” before divulging his respect for the luchador. He reflected on how Mystery is a legend and idol in Mexico, and so to win the title from him was “incredible.”

Andrade Receives Championship Advice

Since winning the championship, Andrade has shared that he has received advice from Charlotte Flair in how to carry himself as a champion. Given that Flair is a multiple time Women’s Champion in WWE across NXT, RAW and SmackDown, no doubt Andrade will take her advice on board.

“When I won the title at Madison Square Garden, she told me [I needed] something different to enter with the title,” Andrade said. “You hold the title to a different side or in the middle so people can remember this and have familiarity with the title. You now are the champion.”

Andrade and Flair recently revealed on social media that they are now engaged, with Andrade proposing on New Year’s Eve.

Flair’s father, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, was quick to share his excitement over the news. He took to Twitter to write “Congratulations To My Beautiful Daughter @MsCharlotteWWE And An Awesome Young Man @AndradeCienWWE On Their Engagement! So Happy, So Proud! What A Way To Start 2020!”

Ric Flair Reacts To Charlotte & Andrade Getting Engaged

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has given his reaction to the big news over the last 24 hours, which is Charlotte Flair and WWE United States Champion Andrade getting engaged as they are set to be married.

The happy couple has yet to announce when they plan to get married but it was Andrade who asked the big question on New Year’s Eve and The Queen said yes.

Ric Flair Reacts To Their Engagement

The legendary pro wrestler took to his official Twitter account where he reacted and congratulated the happy couple by writing the following:

“Congratulations To My Beautiful Daughter @MsCharlotteWWE And An Awesome Young Man @AndradeCienWWE On Their Engagement! So Happy, So Proud! What A Way To Start 2020!”

Flair has since noted in a post on Twitter that back in 2018 during a dinner on New Year’s Eve she and Andrade had to use Google Translate to interact. She also called Andrade the love of her life in a hashtag.

Inside of the ring, Andrade has been in a feud with Rey Mysterio on television. In fact, Andrade beat Mysterio to win the United States Title last Thursday night at a house show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

WWE has already confirmed that Andrade will make his next title defense against Mysterio on next week’s episode of RAW in Oklahoma City, OK at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on the USA Network.

Charlotte just finished up a feud with WWE Women’s Champions Asuka and Kairi Sane as she teamed up with RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

WWE is moving away from that feud as Flair doesn’t have her next program lined up yet. What we do know is that she’ll be competing in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.

Andrade Wins US Title On MSG House Show

Andrade is the new WWE United States champion. He defeated Rey Mysterio at a WWE house show from Madison Square Garden on December 26th, 2019. It is the first title Andrade has won since leaving NXT.

Mysterio defeated AJ Styles for the title last month on an episode of RAW from November 25th, 2019. He had won the title for the first time at Money in the Bank this year from Samoa Joe. Mysterio would be forced to vacate the title due to injury not long after, however.

Andrade Reveals He Was Nervous Meeting Ric Flair When He Started Dating Charlotte

After a lot of rumors and speculation, Andrade and Charlotte revealed that they were dating around February.

Andrade revealed an interesting but amusing tidbit about the time when he started dating Charlotte, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

In an interview, Andrade revealed that he was nervous and scared of meeting his girlfriend’s father. But after meeting Flair Andrade is happy as they both seem to have a good relationship with each other.

“When we first met I was seriously so nervous – so, so nervous,” Andrade told Digital Spy. “Now I’m so happy. I love Ric Flair. He’s a great person with me, he talks, texts me, sometimes we have dinner. He’s great with me now.”

At first, Andrade wasn’t sure if him dating Charlotte would go too well with the Hall of Famer. He even asked Charlotte to keep their relationship under wraps, but Charlotte assured him that her father wouldn’t care.

“When we first started [dating] I asked Charlotte, ‘Please don’t say nothing to your dad’, and she said, ‘No it’s my dad, he won’t care’,” Andrade said.

“But I have so much respect for her dad and professional respect for what he did in this business, he’s a legend. I’m so happy.”

He was also asked if the duo would want to appear as an on-screen couple on WWE television. Andrade was open to the idea but said that for now they are focusing on their singles career. He suggested that they both could appear on the Mixed Match Challenge as a team a few years down the line.

“Now she is focusing on her career and I am focusing on my career,” Andrade said. “But in the future maybe we’ll be a Mixed Match Challenge team. I know it’s a great idea. Maybe not now, maybe in a year or two years.

Andrade Talks His Family’s Legacy

Andrade his a third generation wrestler. His father wrestled as Brillante and his grandfather as El Moro. Many of his uncles and cousins are also professional luchadors. The 29-year-old recently spoke with WWE.com about his family’s history in wrestling.

“I’m from Gomez Palacio, Durango,” Andrade says in the video (translated). “I’m proudly from Mexico. I am in another country, but representing Mexicans and all the Latinos as well.”

WWE posted the following video of Andrade talking his family’s history in wrestling:

“This is my life; I came to give all of myself,” he continues. “Lucha Libre has been in me since my birth. It is in my blood and I don’t regret my roots.”

Andrade would continue to talk about his family history in wrestling.

“My grandfather started with ‘sports-entertainment’ in the family. My father followed his steps, my uncles and also myself, following the family tradition. I did not have the honor of seeing my grandfather wrestle. I was three years old when he passed away. But I had the honor of being present to see my father wrestle. I was a little kid, and also wrestled next to him, never against him but being next to him in the ring. I’ve watched my uncles wrestle. I’ve been in the ring against them, and also against my cousins. I chose this path and I followed it. It’s amazing and I don’t regret it.”

Chad Gable Looks Towards His King Of The Ring Matchup Against Andrade

Chad Gable has opened up about facing Andrade during the next round of WWE’s current King of the Ring tournament. He advanced after defeating Shelton Benjamin this past Tuesday on SmackDown.

“Look, I’m not a cocky guy,” Gable said, “but I’ve been telling everybody, and especially Shelton for the last couple of weeks, that I’m going to be the one that comes out on top. He’ll be looking up at me. Maybe so many people won’t be looking at me as an underdog anymore.”

For him, he believes that people have struggled with Andrade as they have been so mismatched with his style. Gable, however, believes that Andrade has never wrestled anyone like him before.

“I think a lot of people have had trouble with Andrade because he’s such a style mismatch for so many people. I mean, he’s incredible. But there’s nobody on this roster, I promise you, that has more experience wrestling international athletes from all over than I do and that includes Andrade. He’s never wrestled someone like me.”

“He’s Not A Threat To Me”

Andrade’s manager, Zelina Vega, explained how Andrade isn’t nervous about facing anybody. She called Gable’s victory over Shelton Benjamin a “lucky win.”

When it comes to being an underdog, Vega claimed no one knows what that means better than her, and she intends to use that knowledge to help focus Andrade.

“Last week, I said that this is my destiny,” Andrade stated. “I will become the next King of the Ring, and Gable…he’s not a threat to me. I will beat him. I will move onto the next round in this tournament, okay?”

The two will face off next week on SmackDown Live, competing for a chance to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Andrade Thanks Charlotte Flair And Fans For Their Support

Both Andrade and Charlotte Flair have been off of WWE programming in recent weeks.

This is due to the unfortunate passing of Andrade’s mother. He discovered the sad news whilst he was out in Saudi Arabia for WWE’s Super ShowDown event.

It was reported via F4WOnline.com that Charlotte Flair was scheduled to return over the weekend. She was meant to perform at a WWE Live Event in Denver, Colorado. She would not work any of that weekend’s live events as she is still taking time off to support her boyfriend, Andrade.

Taking to social media, “El Idolo” thanked WWE, Charlotte, and the WWE Universe for all the support they have given him.

“Many thanks to WWE, family, girlfriend, friends and fans for all the support !! GRACIAS TE AMO MAMA”

Charlotte also posted something recently to her Twitter account. With SmackDown Live moving to Fox TV, she wanted to make sure people know that she will soon be the queen of not only Smackdown, but also Fox.

The two are scheduled for this week’s episode of SmackDown Live in Ontario, California. Neither Superstar is booked for WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view, Stomping Grounds. The PPV takes place this Sunday from Tacoma, Washington, and doesn’t appear to be selling in the way WWE will have anticipated.
