The Empress of Tomorrow has finally done it. Asuka won her first championship in the main roster last night when she came out on top of the first-ever triple threat Tables, Ladders and Chairs match involving Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair at TLC pay-per-view event.
The newest SmackDown Women’s Champion had some words to say when she was interviewed backstage after her match. She claimed she is now “The Man” and that nobody is ready for Asuka.
“Becky says she is The Man, Charlotte says she is The Man, but now I am The Man! Nobody is ready for Asuka!,” she exclaimed in excitement over her victory.
As for how Asuka won it, it was because of Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey who interfered in the match and pushed Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair off a ladder, giving Asuka a chance to gain victory. The two losing women weren’t too happy with the outcome.

Asuka has captured her first championship on the main roster. The former NXT Women’s Champion is your new SmackDown Women’s Champion after defeating Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair in the first ever Women’s TLC match at Sunday night’s TLC pay-per-view from San Jose, California.
Thank you for supporting us, always. Thanks to you, the final party was a huge success. 🎉 Who is the champion now?…… It’s me, Asuka🤡
Lynch defeated Flair at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view in San Antonio, Texas on September 16, 2018 to win the title, which marked her second reign as champion. There have been 11 reigns between 7 champions and 1 vacancy in the history of the title. Asuka is also a former WWE NXT Women’s Champion but up to this point, had never won gold on the main roster.
As of this writing, WWE has yet to announce when Lynch will get her rematch for the title. It could come as soon as this Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live Fresno, CA at the Save Mart Center on the USA Network or WWE’s next PPV event, Royal Rumble. This show goes down on Sunday, January 27, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona at Chase Field.

SmackDown Live heads to Las Vegas, Nevada tonight for the go-home show for the TLC pay-per-view event. The final show before Sunday’s TLC will be held at the T-Mobile Arena.
The show’s highlights are going to be a WrestleMania rematch between Asuka and Charlotte Flair, a rap battle between The Usos and The Bar (with The New Day as hosts), and a match between Naomi and Mandy Rose.
Charlotte Flair meets Asuka in a WrestleMania Rematch
After ending Asuka’s two-and-a-half year undefeated streak at WrestleMania 34, Charlotte will once again go face-to-face against the Empress of Tomorrow before their triple threat match at TLC.
The Usos and The Bar to clash in a Rap Battle hosted by The New Day
The rap battle on SmackDown makes a return – and the participants are the same faces that we saw last year, with the addition of The Bar. Except The New Day this time are going to serve as the hosts.
The Bar are going to defend the SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The Usos at TLC and the rap battle will serve as an momentum booster for the teams before their match on Sunday.
Jeff Hardy to address Samoa Joe’s “public service announcement”
Not only did Samoa Joe made Jeff Hardy lose his match against Randy Orton last week, he made a “public service announcement” on the dangers of drinking in excess, mocking Hardy’s addiction problems.
The Charismatic Enigma will address Samoa Joe’s public service announcement in response tonight on SmackDown.
Naomi goes one-on-one with Mandy Rose
Naomi and Mandy Rose will see each other in the ring tonight after their war of words on Twitter. The two went on about each other on the website when SmackDown General Manager Paige had to get involved and set an official match between the two.
. @NaomiWWE I actually feel kinda bad for you sis…
Even @WWEAsuka got tired of you & now has a #TLC title match… AND You’re the reason u and ur hubby just lost in #MMC … NOW WHAT ?!?! ????
I am not your sis! How can someone so beautiful on the outside be so damn ugly inside ? Keep it up #bootlegEva and I’ll finish snatching you like I was before https://t.co/rQPURLnzs8
Smackdown tonight will take place inside the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. 4 segments have been confirmed for the show.
Smackdown 12/4 Preview
Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Asuka Contract Signing
Last week on Smackdown, Asuka won a 9-person battle royal to become the third participant in the triple threat TLC Women’s Smackdown Championship match at TLC. Tonight, all 3 competitors will be in the ring at the same time to officially sign their contracts.
MizTV w/ Special Guest Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan and the Miz were rivals for years while Bryan was not medically cleared to compete. In 2018, they’ve taken their rivalry to the ring. Now that Bryan has become “the New Daniel Bryan”, however, the dynamic between the two could be entirely different. We’ll find out tonight when Bryan is the guest on MizTV.
Former WWE Champion and Bryan’s opponent at TLC, AJ Styles, will likely be watching this segment closely.
Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton
Tonight will be the 12th 1-on-1 match between Orton and Hardy dating back to 2006. Hardy beat Orton in a #1 contender’s match for the Intercontinental Championship back on Monday Night Raw from August 28th, 2006 in their first match.
The last time the two met, on Smackdown October 23rd, 2018, Orton beat Hardy to pull ahead in the all-time series 6-5.
What about Samoa Joe? He interrupted Jeff Hardy’s 20th Anniversary with the WWE celebration last week. Will he get involved in Jeff’s match with Orton tonight?
Xavier Woods vs Cesaro vs Jey Uso
At TLC, the Bar will defend the Smackdown tag team Championships against both the New Day and the Usos in a triple threat match. Tonight, one wrestler from each team will face off in a triple threat single’s match.
If there’s one woman that Ember Moon is familiar with, it’s her old NXT rival, Asuka.
“The Empress Of Tomorrow” ran roughshod throughout her tenure at NXT, including victories over Moon, as she accumulated an impressive winning streak that rivalled, then topped, the one set by Bill Goldberg.
Now that both women are on WWE’s main roster (with Ember Moon on RAW and Asuka on SmackDown), the chances of their rekindling a rivalry are still slim until some sort of shakeup or draft takes place. Even then, both women would have to end up on the same brand.
That, however, hasn’t stopped Moon from speculating over a future match with Asuka.
Speaking to Sky Sports’ “Lock Up Wrestling” podcast, Ember Moon was forthright in her ambition to wrestle Asuka once again, believing she now has enough experience to avenge her previous loss.
“[…] as far as Asuka goes she’s my biggest rival – I’ve said it time and time again. She’s on my list. I’d love another crack at her,” Moon admitted.
She continued, “I would love to have another match just to prove that I can beat her and to have another great rivalry with my best friend-worst enemy, but you know, it’s… it kind of stinks because we’re on different brands right now but who knows. Hopefully soon, I’ll see her in the Rumble. […] I would love another crack at Asuka. Just throwing her over at the Evolution battle royal wasn’t enough for me.”
Would you like to see these two superstars feud once again? Do you think Ember can avenge that loss to Asuka?

A popular wrestler on SmackDown Live is expected to turn heel in the coming weeks. SummerSlam wrapped up last night and we’ll see the aftermath on tonight’s Monday Night RAW and tomorrow’s SmackDown Live. One notable moment on the show was Becky Lynch turning heel. Lynch attacked Charlotte Flair after “The Queen” won their Triple Threat match with Carmella for the SmackDown Live Women’s Title.
With SummerSlam in the rear-view mirror, the build towards Hell In A Cell begins. It looks like another woman could be getting in on the SmackDown Live Women’s Title mix – as a heel. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, that there have been talks of turning Asuka heel. Meltzer even said that he thinks there was a photo going around showing a heel Asuka.
He also mentioned that Asuka has been in a tough spot for the past several months. Back in April she dropped her undefeated streak to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34. She failed to capture the SmackDown Live Women’s Title. Asuka also suffered a pair of losses to Carmella. Since having her streak ended, Meltzer said the Japanese star has looked “terrible” because of her booking.
Perhaps Tuesday night Asuka could begin her transition into becoming a heel. It’s undoubtable that she needs some sort of shake-up since having lost her undefeated streak at WrestleMania to Charlotte Flair.
A heel turn worked nicely for Shinsuke Nakamura. He turned at WrestleMania 34 after losing his WWE Title opportunity to AJ Styles. In the following weeks Nakamura really hit new strides with his character.
Fans seem a lot more invested in the former New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) star as a heel. Hopefully the same response would occur for Asuka.
Discussion: What do you think of Asuka potentially turning heel? What do you think of Asuka’s booking since WrestleMania?

Asuka currently doesn’t have a match scheduled for SummerSlam. The popular former NXT Women’s Champion lost two straight title matches against Carmella, evidently moving her out of title contention. Asuka didn’t appear on Smackdown last night either but she did wrestle in a dark match before the show. She teamed with Naomi and defeated Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in tag-team action.
Asuka on Smackdown
After winning the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble this year, Asuka was unable to defeat Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34. It was the first single’s loss Asuka has suffered in WWE.
Since her WM34 match with Charlotte Flair, Asuka has lost two more Smackdown Women’s Championship matches. Both losses took place in matches against Carmella.
The current Smackdown Women’s Champion defeated Asuka at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view in June. James Ellsworth was on-hand to cost Asuka the match that night. Ellsworth returned the next month at Extreme Rules and once again cost Asuka the match despite being ordered into a shark cage to start the match. Ellsworth has since been released from Smackdown by General Manager, Paige.
Asuka would get her revenge on James Ellsworth on subsequent episodes of Smackdown but she has never received a fair shot at Carmella. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are both currently scheduled to face Carmella at SummerSlam in a triple threat match.

It looks like more changes could be coming to yet another title match on WWE’s SummerSlam card.
As it stands, Carmella is defending her SmackDown Live Women’s Title in a Triple Threat match against Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Asuka is being advertised to face Carmella on SmackDown Live in Orlando next week.
With a potential Asuka victory it’s rumored she could be added into the SmackDown Live Women’s Title match at SummerSlam. This is similar to how Charlotte Flair earned her way into the SmackDown Live Women’s Title match.
That would make the SmackDown Live Women’s Title match a Fatal Four-Way bout.
Asuka’s WWE Run
Asuka signed with WWE back in 2015. She went on an undefeated streak that lasted two years through her run in NXT and the main roster. Asuka won the NXT Women’s Title and eventually relinquished it upon her main roster move.
Her streak ended at WrestleMania 34 when she was defeated by Charlotte Flair. Flair successfully defended her then-SDL Women’s Title. Since being defeated Asuka has lost several times on WWE TV. It should be interesting to see if Asuka ever gets a World Title run on the WWE’s main roster after having her streak snapped.

– Charlotte Flair resumed working out today after undergoing surgery on June 19 to repair a ruptured breast implant.
Flair posted a video clip of her workout this morning on Instagram Story and noted that it was her first day back after taking three weeks off. She adds that her workout was “lower body only.”
Flair also posted the video on her Twitter account and said the “countdown begins.”
There is no word yet on how long Flair will be out of action. She last wrestled on June 17 at WWE Money in the Bank, where she competed in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match. WWE has not addressed her absence from television.
– Last Tuesday on SmackDown LIVE, a “battle of the sexes” match between Asuka and James Ellsworth ended in a double count-out. Immediately following the contest, SmackDown LIVE General Manager Paige announced that Ellsworth would face Asuka again on this week’s show, but in a Lumberjack Match with the “entire” SmackDown LIVE Women’s division surrounding the ring.
On the latest edition of This Week In WWE on the WWE Network, a graphic aired revealing the Lumberjacks in the match. They are Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Lana, Becky Lynch, Naomi and SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella.
Ellsworth posted the graphic on Twitter, adding that Paige put him in an unfair situation.
#SDLive General Manager @RealPaigeWWE has put me in a very unfair situation for this Tuesday
– Stephanie McMahon spoke this morning at the 2018 Girl Up Leadership Summit in Washington D.C., a global movement for gender equality. She talked about her experience in this Instagram post.
Nakamura and Tanahashi have faced each other a number of times before in New Japan Pro Wrestling, and were considered the top rivals in the company.
Both of them have main evented Wrestle Kingdom, in 2008 and 2014 for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and Intercontinental Championship respectively.
Another Match Added To Chris Jericho’s Cruise
Ring of Honor Wrestling has announced that their Sea of Honor Tournament on Chris Jericho’s upcoming Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager cruise will feature another match. “Hangman” Adam Page will go against Kazarian in singles action:
Jeff Hardy will defend his United States championship against a competitor TBD tonight on Smackdown. Tonight’s event will take place inside the Century Link Center in Omaha, NE. It will be the second last show before the Extreme Rules pay-per-view on July 15th from Pittsburgh.
Smackdown Live 7/3/18 Preview
Team Hell No Kicks Off Smackdown
Smackdown will kick off with Team Hell No in a talking segment tonight. They’ve been announced as the first segment tonight.
Last week on Smackdown, Paige announced the newly reunited team will take on the Bludgeon Brothers for the Smackdown tag-team championships at Extreme Rules.
We should get a preview of that match tonight as there is only one more episode left until the PPV.
AJ Styles vs Aiden English
Rusev and Aiden English believe Styles took a cheap shot at English a couple weeks ago on Smackdown. English will get his shot at revenge tonight.
With Styles taking on Rusev at Extreme Rules, expect the Bulgarian Brute to play a role in this match tonight.
Jeff Hardy US Open Challenge
With title contender, Shinsuke Nakamura, out with a standard bomb-sniffing dog bite injury, Hardy will defend the title tonight against anyone daring enough to answer the challenge.
Last week it was Eric Young who answered the challenge in Nakamura’s absence. Will it be someone else from Sanity tonight or a new contender altogether?
Becky Lynch vs Peyton Royce
Lynch made Billie Kay tap out recently and now she’ll get a chance to do the same to another member of the Iiconics.
Lynch seems to be on a bit of a win streak as of late.
Asuka vs James Ellsworth
Inter-gender wrestling takes place tonight on Smackdown! Asuka will look to get her revenge on Ellsworth for causing the distraction in her title match with Carmella at Money in the Bank.
Asuka and Carmella will meet again for the title at Extreme Rules.
New Day 3rd of July Pancake Eating Contest
New Day will celebrate July 4th eve by eating a bunch of pancakes tonight on Smackdown.
The trio says this is the start of a new annual tradition.
We already knew that Asuka can kick hard, but this takes things to a completely new level. At a recent WWE live event Asuka took on Lana and hit her with a kick so hard that her hair extensions popped out.
— Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com (@SeanRossSapp) June 5, 2018
Asuka is gearing up to challenge for the SmackDown Live Women’s Title when she takes on Carmella at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view (PPV) on June 17th from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
Lana will be a part of the Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder match alongside Ember Moon, Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Naomi and Sasha Banks.
SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Carmella is expected to defend her title against Asuka at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view (PPV) on June 17th from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
The pair recently exchanged some words with one another on Twitter ahead of their match-up. Here’s what they had to say:
Who is Asuka? Empress of Yesterday. Stoppable. Beatable. She used to be what I am today. Nobody is ready for Mella. #MITB
WWE Superstar R-Truth has released a new hip-hop single, “That’z Endurance,” which is streaming on WeOnRadio.com. A preview for the song can be found below, which features Mannish Mania and is produced by J-Trx:
Despite being drafted to SmackDown Live in the Superstar Shake-Up, Truth has been out-of-action for the past several months due to a shoulder injury. There is currently no news on when he might be ready go get back into the ring.
Monday Night RAW is live tonight from St. Louis, Missouri, and it’s the go-home show to the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia. PWInsider is reporting that newly acquired SmackDown Live talent, Asuka, is backstage for tonight’s show. She could be making an appearance before moving to SmackDown Live full-time.
Jim Ross Praises Ronda Rousey’s WWE In-Ring Debut
TMZ recently caught up with WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross to get his take on ex-UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey’s WWE in-ring debut. Rousey teamed up with Kurt Angle to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a Mixed Tag Team match.
Ross had some high praise for The Rowdy One’s debut, calling it the most impressive thing he has ever seen in his 40-year professional wrestling career:
“I thought Ronda Rousey’s debut was the most impressive thing I’ve seen in pro wrestling in my 40-year career – best debut I ever saw.”
During tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Daniel Bryan was interviewed backstage by Renee Young. Bryan was asked why he helped AJ Styles earlier after Rusev and Aiden English attacked him. Bryan said that he helped AJ because he respected him.
Big Cass then showed up and towered over Bryan. Cass mocked Bryan’s size and called him “little man” before walking away.
Big Cass tore his ACL in a Brooklyn Street Fight against Enzo Amore on the August 21st episode of WWE RAW.
SAnitY Is Coming To SmackDown
WWE also aired the following vignette on SmackDown that confirmed former NXT Tag Team Champions SAnitY will be called up to the main roster. WWE only showed Killian Dain, Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe in a promotional image later on the show. It appears that Nikki Cross will remain in NXT for now.
Charlotte battled Billie Kay tonight on SmackDown. Charlotte won the match, but was attacked by Peyton Royce and Carmella. Becky Lynch jumped in the ring, but the numbers game caught up to her and the IIconics & Carmella attacked her as well.
Asuka then sprinted down to the ring as Carmella retreated. Asuka booted Billie Kay and then planted Peyton Royce with a German Suplex. Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Asuka stood tall in the ring as Carmella looked worried on the entrance ramp.
Yesterday Asuka Tweeted out a picture of herself with the caption “Fabulous.” This prompted a response from SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Carmella. She said “Girls just wanna be Carmella.”
The pair then continued to go back and forth a bit. Check out the exchange here:
Currently Asuka and Carmella are on opposite brands, however, tonight marks the beginning of the Superstar Shake-Up. It’s possible a feud between Carmella and Asuka begins if they end up on the same show.
Sting Reunites With Fellow WCW Alumni
WWE Hall Of Famer Sting posted a picture on his Twitter account from WrestleCon during WrestleMania weekend. The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion is pictured reuniting with fellow WCW alumni such as Lex Luger, Mr. Hughes, Mick Foley, and Rick Steiner:
While there is no word yet on the possible male superstars switching brands during the Superstar Shakeup next week, it appears we may now have the name of the first big female star who will be moved.
Former NXT Women’s Champion Asuka is now being advertised for a couple of SmackDown Brand Live Events on June 10th and June 13th respectively.
Although not confirmed, many believe that it’s an indication that the former NXT Star will end up on SmackDown Live after the Superstar Shakeup.
As noted before, the original plans for WrestleMania were for Asuka to defeat Charlotte and win the SmackDown Women’s Championship from the Queen.
These plans would have seen the Empress Of Tomorrow being moved to SmackDown Live after her title victory and it appears that the company is moving forward with at least this part of their original idea.
The Superstar Shakeup will be a two-night event and will take place on next week’s episode of Raw and Smackdown Live.

The streak is over, but Women’s Royal Rumble winner Asuka doesn’t sound too upset about it. Charlotte successfully retained the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania with a shocking submission victory. In the process, she ended Asuka’s undefeated WWE streak that lasted 914 days. The tap out seemingly came out of nowhere, especially in light of Asuka being favored to capture the gold.
After the match Asuka got on the mic and said that Charlotte was ready for Asuka, before they embraced. WWE posted a video on their YouTube channel capturing the moments after Asuka came backstage following her loss.
The Japanese star seemed pleased with the match she and Charlotte put together, and hugged two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair and Charlotte as well. Asuka also noted that she’s happy Flair was the one to end her streak and defeat here.
As seen at WrestleMania 34 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on the WWE Network, Charlotte Flair successfully retained her SmackDown Women’s Title against Asuka.
This marks the first time that Asuka has lost a match since signing her WWE contract a few years ago.
Original plans called for Asuka to defeat Flair at the biggest event of the year for the title. The idea behind this was that WWE would eventually build up to Asuka vs. Ronda Rousey. Thus, the reason that fans saw Asuka use the armbar as her finisher for weeks on WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night RAW.
Dave Meltzer shed some light on the plans for this match during the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer noted that originally, Asuka vs. Flair called for multiple armbar attempts and that WWE officials told Asuka months ago when Rousey first signed with the company to start doing the submission hold in her matches. However, she was later told to stop doing them.
This is a perfect example of how plans change in the WWE. Now, it appears that the company is going away from Asuka vs. Rousey and now has their focus on Flair vs. Rousey down in the line.
WWE has been putting a lot of promotion into the upcoming SmackDown Women’s Title match that will see Charlotte Flair make her next title defense against the undefeated Asuka at WrestleMania 34.
The general belief among fans is that Asuka will go over in this match and win her first title as a member of the main roster.
However, that might not be the case as the Smoothie King Center’s website is listing Flair vs. Carmella for the Smackdown Women’s Championship for next week’s Smackdown Live in New Orleans.
As we have noted earlier on the site, Asuka is advertised to face Nia Jax at RAW live events after WrestleMania. This could be taken as an indication of the outcome of the title match at WrestleMania. Flair could retain or Carmella could cash-in her Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania to win the title.
This should be taken as a rumor for now as cards for upcoming events can change at any time. AJ Styles defending the WWE Title against Shinsuke Nakamura in a WrestleMania 34 rematch is also advertised as a dark match for next week’s SmackDown Live.
WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair is finding her spot on the blue brand since being moved from WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night RAW, last year after WrestleMania 33.
The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has been a core part of the women’s division in the sports entertainment company since being called up to the main roster in 2015 during the Women’s Revolution storyline.
She has won championships both in NXT and on the main roster.
The WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion recently spoke with Xfinity to promote WrestleMania 34 where she’s slated to defend her title against the undefeated Asuka. Flair has high expectations for this upcoming title defense.
“Like you said, there have been so many firsts. But for me personally, I’ve had so many big matches. But how have we not crossed paths? So, when Asuka won the Women’s Royal Rumble and I was in the ring with her and Alexa Bliss and then Ronda Rousey came out, I was thinking, “I really want Asuka to pick me. That’s who I want at Wrestlemania.”
Just the Empress vs. the Queen. Not to sound corny, but it just feels right. It’s the perfect storm. And she has so much respect worldwide and I have such respect for her and her style. She already has a story, with us not even having this long build, it just works. I have the title, she has the streak. Who’s supposed to beat who? It’s two bulls going head to head.”
“(Laughs) I’ll just shake her hand. Because everybody bows down to the queen.”
The biggest acquisition in recent years from the WWE has been signing of former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey, who is slated is set to team up with Kurt Angle to take on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a Mixed Tag Team Match at WrestleMania 34.
“I haven’t seen her since the Royal Rumble, but Ronda didn’t get where she is in UFC without working hard and dedication. I think the only thing that’s different in our industry is the level of entertainment that you have to put behind it. But, she’s already done movies. So, if she can excel at something like that, I know she can do the same here. Having Kurt Angle as a partner, I’m sure he’s given her loads of advice, being an Olympic athlete and making the transition to WWE.
I have no doubt in my mind that she’s been in pressure situations. She probably does better under pressure. I hope I get to see her at Wrestlemania and tell her, “You know who you are.” That’s what my dad always says, “Just know who you are when you walk through that curtain because that’s all that matters.”
– SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair is set to defend her throne against 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Asuka at WrestleMania 34 this weekend. The Queen has the opportunity to become the first woman to ever defeat The Empress Of Tomorrow in WWE, as she hasn’t lost in two years of competition. Yesterday Flair took to Twitter to send the following message to her SDL Women’s Title Challenger:
– Several weeks ago to close out Monday Night RAW, The Final Deletion resulted in Bray Wyatt being DELETED by “Woken” Matt Hardy. Wyatt was tossed into the Lake Of Reincarnation and hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since. Wyatt recently took to Twitter and issued out the following cryptic Tweet in the midst of rumors that a character change could be coming for The Eater Of Worlds:
Future advertising for upcoming WWE live events may have revealed who Asuka is slated to feud with after WrestleMania 34.
Asuka signed with WWE in 2015 and was sent to developmental in NXT. In April of 2016 at NXT TakeOver: Dallas Asuka defeated Bayley to win the NXT Women’s Championship. She continued to dominate her opponents in NXT and extended her vicious undefeated streak to over 500 days. The sports entertainment company made the decision to call her up to the main event roster and place her on the flagship show of the company, Monday Night Raw, last September.
Moving to January, she would win the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match. Now, she is slated to challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania 34.
WWE is advertising Asuka vs. Nia Jax for live events after WrestleMania including the live event on Sunday, May 27th at the Hampton Coliseum, Hampton, VA.
As always, the card is subject to change for WWE events.
Asuka has gone undefeated in WWE competition for about two years now, and the company plans on keeping that streak going for the time being. “The Empress Of Tomorrow” won the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble this past January and recently selected to challenge SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in New Orleans despite being a RAW Superstar.
This leaves RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss to defend her strap against Nia Jax. Also on the WrestleMania card will be the in-ring debut of former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, as she teams with WWE Hall Of Famer and Monday Night RAW General Manager Kurt Angle against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. WrestlingNews.co is reporting that WWE has big plans for Rousey and Asuka within the next year. It’s expected that Asuka’s streak will continue on at WrestleMania when she defeats Flair for the SmackDown Live Women’s Title.
Asuka’s streak will be kept alive for the next year leading into WrestleMania 35 in NJ/NY, where Ronda Rousey will challenge the Japanese star. If Rousey is able to be kept ‘special’ by WWE, and Asuka continues to be protected, Rousey vs. Asuka could be the first Women’s match to main event a WrestleMania in WWE history. It was also noted that the match could happen at SummerSlam, however, it would make much more sense as a WrestleMania “dream match.”
– First-ever Women’s Royal Rumble winner and RAW Superstar Asuka has made her decision to challenge SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34. Asuka made her SmackDown Live debut this past Tuesday to confront “The Queen.”
Many fans have been wondering if this now means “The Empress Of Tomorrow” is a SmackDown Live Superstar. WWE still lists Asuka as a RAW competitor, however, if she beats Flair at WrestleMania for the SmackDown Live Women’s Title that’s likely to change.
– A fan recently took to Twitter to tell Heath Slater that he wants to see WWE give him a push. Slater said that he doesn’t need a push, if he gets just a ‘nudge’ he can do the rest:
– Former WWE Superstar Mo of “Men On A Mission” (real name Bobby Horne) took to his Facebook page to reveal he was about to undergo a kidney transplant surgery this past Tuesday. Here’s what he had to say before the surgery:
“To all my friends, fans and family. I love you all. I just received the call. I am on my way to Medical City Hospital for a kidney transplant. Please keep me in your thoughts and. prayers. For the record. I am scared.”
He also recently set up a crowdfunding effort to help pay for his medical costs related to the kidney transplant operation. Here’s his post on the matter:
“Hello, I am Bobby L. Horne and I ad suffering from end stage renal failure. I am Currently on the kidney transplant list in the State of Texas. This fund raiser is to cover the astronomical cost of anti rejection medication for the first year following a transplant. I have spent the majority of my adult life helping others and more importantly our youth. Now I need your help. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.”
