Baron Corbin Reveals Immediate Reaction To WWE Release

Baron Corbin has revealed his issue with the way his WWE release came about.

The former US Champion was one of the surprise departures from the company in recent months. He was considered the ultimate utility player so people were shocked when the officials decided not to renew his deal at the end of 2024.

The 40-year-old opened up about the end of his 13-year run with the company during a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio. Revealing his immediate reaction to the release, Baron Corbin said that he did not panic:

“I was always smart with my money, so I didn’t hit the panic button of like, ‘Oh no, how am I gonna pay my bills?’ It was like, I clicked right into, I think in November is when they told me, ‘Hey, we’re not gonna renew.’

And I was like, ‘All right, let’s go. Next step. Let’s see what I got.’ I’ve been trying to create other stuff whether it be in the food world, I want to get in horror movies. I want to do some fun stuff with that. So I was excited, like right out the gate. I didn’t have the panic.”

My Feelings Were Hurt: Baron Corbin

This is not to say that Baron Corbin was not upset with his release. He has previously implied that there is a particular person behind the scenes who wanted him gone. During the interview, Corbin confirmed that the person in question was not Triple H. Though he was bummed that the news was given to him by Talent Relations, instead of it coming from the current creative head:

“I was bummed. I think my feelings were hurt a little bit sadly enough because of everything I’ve given to the company for 13 years. Getting called on a Thursday, ‘Hey, we need you here tomorrow. We know you were supposed to be off this weekend.’ or leaving for my family vacation, eight months ago when we were in Spain on a family vacation, to fly to Scotland to do a match.

I was always a company guy and put them first. Then to get a call from TR that we’re not gonna do it. I think it would have hurt my feelings less maybe if Hunter had called and been like, ‘Hey man, this is where we’re at’ or whatever. But again, I don’t think he played that much of a role in it. So I don’t know. I think that was my issue.”

Tom Pestock Claims Single WWE Official Behind His Release, Promises Return as Bishop Dyer

Tom Pestock’s WWE departure in 2024 was influenced by a single individual, according to the former Superstar. During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Pestock, previously known as Baron Corbin, discussed his release.

“I believe there’s one person that made this decision or influenced this decision, and I think that’s what put me in the position I’m in now.”

Rather than being discouraged, the former U.S. Champion is using his release as motivation, stating he’s “not gonna let one person control me or my fate or my destiny.” Pestock vowed to demonstrate WWE’s error in releasing him, adding that “it’ll come back on them, whoever that person is.”

Pestock remains confident that his future accomplishments will make WWE regret their decision and potentially seek to bring him back. However, if a return does materialize, fans should expect a different persona entirely.

“Maybe that door will open again and they’ll say, ‘Hey man, come on back.’ But if they do, they’re not getting Baron Corbin. That man is dead. They’re getting Bishop Dyer.”

The emergence of Bishop Dyer represents a fresh start for Pestock following his 12-year tenure with WWE. Having already made his mark at GCW Bloodsport, Dyer is determined to show WWE—and one particular decision-maker—the magnitude of their mistake.

Baron Corbin On His WWE Departure: One Person Was Behind It All

Baron Corbin believes there was one particular person behind his WWE release.

2024 saw some really surprising departures from the company including names such as Indi Hartwell, Jinder Mahal and Bobby Lashley. Though probably none of these was as shocking as the departure of the Lone Wolf.

Being an extraordinary in-ring worker who can help build any star, as well as somebody who could even get characters like sad Corbin over, the former US Champion was considered the ultimate utility player. So the news of WWE not renewing his contract was met with astonishment among fans.

The former WWE star opened up about the top brass’ decision to not renew his contract during his new interview with Chris Van Vliet. Baron Corbin interestingly suggested that there was someone in particular who was not his fan:

“It was two and a half million views on my tweet alone. People were shocked. I was shocked. I could weirdly, kind of, you know when your gut instinct tells you something, and like I said, I think there was one person in particular that I think was behind all of it, and it sucks, but it is what [it is].”

I’m Not Gonna Cry Over It: Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin also revealed that Randy Orton had called him after learning the news and offered to talk to Triple H on his behalf:

“I’m not gonna cry over it because I’m grateful for everything I had there and every opportunity that I had there, I can’t let one person put me in a bad place. I’m not gonna let one person control my emotions.

I mean the fact that Randy Orton’s calling me, going there’s someone that doesn’t like you. Again, I know who it is. I told him and he’s like yeah, probably right. But when you have someone of that magnitude being like I want to talk to Hunter, it makes you feel good.”

Despite the abrupt end of his 12-year tenure with the company, Baron Corbin seems to be in good spirits. During the interview, he explained that he has been smart with his money and proclaimed that he can now do whatever he wants.

Baron Corbin Looking To Embrace Post-WWE Freedom

Baron Corbin is excited about the freedom of a post-WWE career.

The former WWE star recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet. He talked about things such as his most recent GCW appearance, wanting to compete in NJPW and more.

Corbin departed WWE in November last year ending his 12 year run with the company when the officials did not renew his contract. When asked what he wants to do now that he’s no longer in the Endeavor-owned promotion, Corbin explained that he’s been smart with his money so now he can do whatever he wants:

“Now I’m gonna have an opportunity where I don’t have to ask permission to do something. I’ve also been smart with all of my money that I’ve made over the years with WWE because I’ve watched how quickly it can end.

When I left the NFL it’s like no more paychecks, and you go oh man, it ends that quick. I was playing ping pong, and now I don’t have a job, it’s crazy. So I put myself in a position now that I can literally just do the things I want to do.”

Just Like Guilty Pleasure: Baron Corbin

The former US Champion real name Thomas Pestock, recently displayed one of his skills outside the wrestling world by winning a gold medal in an international jiu-jitsu competition. Discussing other post-WWE ambitions, Baron Corbin noted that he had his iron in a lot of fires even when he was under a WWE contract.

The wrestling veteran explained that with the newfound freedom he can do whatever he wants and revealed his interest in pursuing an acting career in particular:

“I want to do movies, I want to do TV shows, and I want to do horror movies or thriller movies or darker action kind of films, anything in that world. Whether it’s television, it’s Netflix, it’s Hulu, or it’s the B rate horror movies that are amazing, just like guilty pleasures, I love them, that’s the world I want to dive into.”

Corbin appears to be interested in balancing his acting career with his continued presence in the world of wrestling. The former WWE star recently filed a trademark which potentially revealed his post-WWE ring name. You can check out more about it here.

“Baron Corbin is Dead” – Tom Pestock Talks Fresh Starts, AEW and More

Tom Pestock, formerly Baron Corbin, has opened up about his future in the ring, including what he plans on changing going forward. On the Insight podcast, Pestock shared that the next chapter of his career would take him oversees.

“I would love to go to New Japan for multiple reasons, and the door never closes with WWE either.”

Many former WWE Superstars have found their ways to AEW, including top names including Cope, Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, and Toni Storm. While Pestock won’t rule out an ‘All-Elite’ future, he believes that his WWE past would play a factor in things.

“If I went there, out of respect for that world, I wouldn’t want to be just another WWE guy that came there because they left WWE. I would rather go and do New Japan for a year or more.”

Further alluding on wanting a fresh start, Pestock shared that “Baron Corbin is dead as far as we know.” Moving on from his WWE past, Pestock is excited to use a “new name, new moniker, new character.” This week, Pestock filed a trademark for Bishop Dyer, a potential new name for this new chapter of his career.

Pestock, a foirmer WWE U.S. and NXT Tag Team Champion, recently competed under his real name at GCW Bloodsport, where he fought Josh Barnett. Though Pestock came up short in their showdown, the ex-Superstar remains excited to establish his own name outside WWE.

Baron Corbin Becomes Unlikely Defender Of Tony Khan Over Rey Fenix Situation

An unlikely name has come into Tony Khan’s defence amid the drama surrounding Rey Fenix’s AEW status following Penta’s WWE debut.

The discussion about AEW extending Fenix’s contract picked up again on Saturday after the high-flying star posted a picture of himself on social media. The former champion was seen wearing a straightjacket in the photo indicating that he was being ‘restrained’ by the company.

Former WWE star Tom Pestock better known to fans as Baron Corbin came in support of Khan over the issue. Responding to a post suggesting that Tony should let Rey Fenix out of his deal, Corbin claimed that you need to honor your contract:

“If you sign a contract, you honor it.  Would it have been okay if Tony didn’t pay him while he was hurt or out of action?  The answer is no bc Tony signed the contract as well. You can’t switch teams after getting what you want and signing the contract.”

Baron Corbin also responded to some other objections to his remarks in the thread suggesting that there might be more to the story of Fenix and AEW than people know.

The former WWE star’s comments actually align with what the AEW star himself has suggested in the past. He’s previously claimed that a ‘huge injustice’ has been done to him and that he’ll get the chance to speak the truth one day.

Recently Departed WWE Star Backstage At Worlds End

A couple of interesting non-AEW names were backstage at tonight’s Worlds End PPV from Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.

The area is home to many notable pro wrestlers and one of them, former WWE star Baron Corbin was spotted at the show. Corbin’s 12-year-long WWE run came to an abrupt end earlier last month after the company surprisingly chose not to renew his contract.

Real name Tom Pestock, the wrestling veteran has stayed active outside of the sports entertainment world since then. He most recently won a gold medal at an international Jiu-Jitsu tournament.

Baron Corbin Wins Gold Medal At International Jiu-Jitsu Tournament

Another Former WWE Star Backstage

Another interesting name who was said to be around is AJ Francis, also known as Top Dolla. Like many other TNA talents, his deal is also set to expire on January 1.

Dolla was seen talking to names such as Tony Khan and Jeff Jarrett before the show. He was also seen with his former Hit Row teammate Swerve Strickland at the event.

It’s unknown if either of these names were backstage on a business expedition or just visiting friends. Their impending free agency definitely marks an interesting coincidence in either case.

Baron Corbin Wins Gold Medal At International Jiu-Jitsu Tournament

Baron Corbin has earned a gold medal of his own in Jiu Jitsu.

Real name Thomas Pestock, the former WWE star competed in the IBJJF Tampa International Open 2024. He participated in the Master 2 Ultra Heavy division first earlier in the day but failed to win the gold medal. Corbin defeated Bradley Curtis in the semifinal before being defeated himself by Franck Alphonse.

The former US Champion didn’t ponder over his loss for too long, however, and he entered the Master 2 Open division later in the day.

Pestock was successful in his quest this time. He first defeated Fi Li and Bradley Curtis in the semifinals. The wrestling veteran then bested his teammate Diogo Rodrigues Ponciano Freitas to finally win the gold medal:

Baron Corbin trains at the Rudos BJJ in Florida. This isn’t his first medal in the sport as he previously also won gold at the Jiu Jitsu World League back in December 2023.

The former champion famously faced Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle in the latter’s final pro wrestling match at WrestleMania 35 which Corbin won.

When WWE let go Corbin by not renewing his contract earlier this month, Angle vented his frustrations over the company wasting the talent he put over in his retirement match.

Baron Corbin Responds To Kurt Angle Lamenting WWE Wasting His Career Despite WrestleMania 35 Win

Former WWE star Baron Corbin recently responded to WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle and he wished that he could make him proud.

‘The Lone Wolf’ emerged victorious over the Olympic gold medalist at WrestleMania 35 in the legend’s farewell match. Corbin was expected to gain momentum following the win, especially after he won the King of the Ring that year. However, things went south for him and he was ultimately released this month.

During a recent interview, Angle lamented how WWE handled Corbin’s career since his win in Angle’s retirement match. The former World Champion felt his retirement match against Corbin was wasted as it didn’t benefit Corbin’s career.

Taking to social media, Baron Corbin addressed Angle’s comments and wrote that the win was one of the reasons he wished to have become world champion. He said it would honor what Angle did for him. Baron Corbin further expressed his regret for how things didn’t work out but appreciated Angle for his help. Check out his Tweet below:

Corbin’s career received a little push when he arrived in WWE NXT last year. He had a great run on the developmental brand and even won the NXT Tag Team Championships with Bron Breakker. However, WWE decided not to renew his contract when it expires. Corbin had previously said that WWE ‘fumbled the bag’ by releasing him.

Kurt Angle Laments WWE Wasting Baron Corbin After Retirement Match

Kurt Angle has voiced disappointment over WWE’s handling of Baron Corbin’s career after the Lone Wolf was victorious in Angle’s final match. Speaking to Wrestlezone, Angle didn’t hold back on his view that Corbin was wasted in WWE despite his WrestleMania 35 victory.

“For me, it makes me feel like I did that for nothing. It’s not like, ‘Screw you Angle’, but, it kinda is.”

Corbin’s win appeared to be a launching pad for the former NFL star, who would capture the King of the Ring crown that same year. Unfortunately, momentum quickly faded for Corbin, who slipped further and further down the card. Angle himself predicted that Corbin’s post-WrestleMania 35 season would see him reach new heights which never materialized.

“I thought they were gonna run with the kid, I thought they were gonna make him one of the top tier guys and he was on his way.”

Corbin’s career only began to pick up once more after a return to WWE NXT in 2023 which saw him win the NXT Tag Team Championships with Bron Breakker. This month, Corbin was informed that his WWE contract will not be renewed when it expires, ending his 12-year tenure which saw the promotion ‘fumble’ the former U.S. Champion.

The choice of Corbin as Angle’s final opponent was a controversial one at the time, with many hoping for John Cena or another classic rival from the Olympian’s past. Angle has said he wishes Cena had been his final opponent instead, as what WWE did with Baron Corbin left a lot to be desired according to the WWE Hall of Famer.

Carmelo Hayes Struck With ‘Survivor’s Guilt’ Over a Recent WWE Release

Carmelo Hayes says he’s felt “survivor’s guilt” after Baron Corbin’s recent release from WWE. The two worked together closely in NXT last year.

Corbin marked his return to the developmental brand in May 2023 by ambushing Hayes, who was the NXT Champion at the time. They had an intense feud, with Hayes emerging victorious. They wrestled once again on SmackDown during this year’s King of the Ring tournament. Hayes tells Metro that Corbin’s firing hit him especially hard.

“It’s kinda like a survivor’s guilt, you know what I mean? After a day or two, you’re like, “Man!” You just hate to see that for them.”

– Carmelo Hayes on Baron Corbin’s WWE release

Hayes says Corbin took a liking to him, and helped him tremendously by offering all sorts of advice – about wrestling, personal finances and life in general. Those lessons will serve him for years to come, and he’ll always hold a special place for his one-time onscreen rival.

“I’m forever indebted to Baron Corbin, he adds. “Super talented, and I hate to see him go. That was one of those ones that really kinda hurt.”

– Carmelo Hayes on Baron Corbin’s inflence

Baron Corbin Agrees WWE ‘Fumbled The Bag’ By Releasing Him

This week, Baron Corbin was informed that his WWE contract will not be renewed when it expires, bringing an end to his 12-year tenure with the company. Corbin was at one point a main eventer on Monday Night Raw, and appeared poised for a World Championship win, though that never materialized. When a fan on Instagram argued that WWE ‘fumbled’ the Lone Wolf, Corbin agreed with the sentiment.

image 2

Corbin’s comment comes amid a discussion about the rapport of WWE talents after leaving the promotion. Samantha Irvin has been outspoken about her reasons for exiting WWE, though has made clear she enjoyed her time with the company. Indi Hartwell has remained more positive about her own exit from WWE, and has said fans shouldn’t cry to see her released, but smile that she was with WWE in the first place.

Corbin joined WWE in 2012 and quickly established himself as part of NXT. In 2016, he was called up to the main roster by winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and won the U.S. title the following year. Despite being prominently pushed on Raw in 2018 and 2019, including a King of the Ring win, Corbin would slide down the card and would only revitalize his career with a return to NXT in 2023.

Now, Corbin will have to prepare for a life outside WWE, and already has a career in mind if his days in wrestling are over. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Baron Corbin and his future outside of the Sports Entertainment promotion.

Wrestlers Rally Behind Corbin, Nox, and Hartwell After WWE Exits

This week, WWE cut Baron Corbin, Indi Hartwell, and Tegan Nox, in the latest round of releases by the Sports Entertainment juggernaut. While Corbin has been informed that his contract will not be renewed when it expires, Nox and Hartwell have already been cut and are awaiting entering free agency next year.

On social media, several wrestlers shared their support for those cut by WWE. Former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Tyrus had an interesting offer for Baron Corbin.

AEW broadcaster Renee Paquette showed her support for Corbin, who appreciates everyone who’s supported him during his 12 years with WWE.

AEW’s Deonna Purrazzo had nothing but love for Indi Hartwell after the now-released Superstar tried to see the silver lining in her situation.

Shazza McKenzie is optimistic for Hartwell’s future post-WWE and is firmly a member of Hartwell’s fan base.

Veda Scott made clear that she sees the former NXT Women’s Champion as a star.

Fellow WWE NXT UK alum Flash Morgan Webster is excited to see what Tegan Nox does next and praised the ex-Superstar’s Shining Wizard finisher.

Alex Windsor of World of Sport is eager to see Nox, who’ll now be going by her pre-WWE name of Nixon Newell, in the near future.

And WWE SmackDown Superstar Michin said that she was thinking of her friends after these latest cuts to the roster.

It’s never easy to lose a job, and now these three wrestlers will now have to forge their paths outside WWE. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Indi Hartwell, Nixon Newell, and Baron Corbin and their future outside of WWE.

Baron Corbin WWE Release: ‘That’s All She Wrote Folks’

Baron Corbin is leaving WWE after 12 years. The former United States champion and King of the Ring winner was among Friday releases first reported by Fightful.

Corbin confirmed the news on social media and expressed his gratitude for the support he’s received throughout his career. “That’s all she wrote folks. It’s been real and I appreciate everyone who supported me.”

Wrestling World Reacts To John Cena Announcing 2025 In-Ring Retirement

The wrestling world has reacted to John Cena’s announcement that his final match will come at WWE WrestleMania 41 in April of next year.

At WWE Money in the Bank 2024, Cena surprised the fans in Toronto with an unannounced appearance at the event. The 16-time WWE World Champion spoke openly about his career before sharing the news that he plans to retire from in-ring competition next year. The topic of Cena’s retirement has been broached several times in recent years, as John has been well aware that his days in the ring have been numbered for some time.

Reaction To John Cena’s Announcement

Cena’s announcement understandably had the wrestling world abuzz with many taking to social media to share their reactions. On Twitter, Baron Corbin made his claim to face Cena in what will be John’s final match.

Corbin isn’t the only Superstar with their eyes on John Cena. Former Raw Tag Team Champion Omos also wants a piece of Big Match John.

‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor reacted to Cena’s retirement by using the same verbiage that John used to announce the death of Osama Bin Laden after WWE Extreme Rules 2011.

WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, who spoke highly of John after Money in the Bank, shared a video of the pair backstage following Cena’s announcement.

Cena’s announcement has surpassed the realm of professional wrestling. On Twitter, the Orlando Magic wished John a happy retirement.

The MLB also praised Cena and thanked John alongside an image of the 16-time World Champion throwing a pitch.

Best in the World: Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin Make Bold Claim of Dominance

WWE has plenty of options when it comes to their booking, but certain Superstars will always stand apart from the rest. Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin are quite a pair, and they’re not finished dominating yet.

The conversation can be had for years about who is the greatest tag team. If you ask Baron Corbin, he believes his tandem with Breakker is the greatest pairing in the business right now.

Baron Corbin’s Bold Claim

Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin swiftly ascended in NXT’s tag team ranks. Their partnership began during the 2024 Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, culminating in victory at NXT Vengeance Day. Following their triumph, they secured the NXT Tag Team Championship by defeating Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo on the February 13 episode of NXT.

In a conversation on WWE’s The Bump, Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin reflected on their achievements. Breakker asserted their dominance, proclaiming themselves as the premier tag team globally.

Bron Breakker expressed his firm belief that they stand as the foremost team globally. He emphasized the depth of their partnership, highlighting its uniqueness. Drawing attention to their shared NFL background, he underscored the rarity of their collaboration in WWE. According to Breakker, their current performance and entertainment level surpasses expectations, showcasing their seamless synergy and maximum effort.

Baron Corbin Explains His Statement

Corbin echoed Breakker’s sentiments, emphasizing their ability to switch gears in competition—a quality few possess. He expressed confidence in their capability to challenge any opponent, including the reigning Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, The Judgment Day.

He mentioned a recent statement made on television. Corbin highlighted their seamless transition from backstage camaraderie to intense competition when the bell rings. According to him, this ability to switch gears sets them apart, enabling them to escalate the intensity of their performances. Their dynamic encourages friendly competition, pushing each other to excel in every aspect of their matches. Despite the allure of competing on Raw and SmackDown, they remain focused on their current position as NXT Tag Team Champions.

We should get a shot at those. That should be something we can get. We can go and we can cut whoever in half that we need to Saturday morning at NXT, and then we can go on to WrestleMania, and I think we can take those titles off of Judgment Day.

I think we can handle anybody in the ring. He says best in the world, and that includes all those teams in WWE that are thinking that they’re on our level. We got eight weeks in the bank together, and we’re already tag champs. That speaks volumes to what we can accomplish.”

What’s Next For Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin

Bron Breakker was officially called up to the WWE main roster during the 2024 Royal Rumble match. He was a last-minute replacement for Brock Lesnar, who was pulled from the match when his name was connected to Janel Grant’s bombshell of a lawsuit.

Although Breakker’s call-up was official, and he later joined the SmackDown brand, he still had things to wrap up in NXT. Obviously, that called for an NXT Tag Team Title run, and he’s having a great time with Baron Corbin.

Only time will tell if that team transcends to the main roster, but they’re having quite a time in NXT.

SEScoops will have more on this story, and so much more, as more information is known. As always, keep checking back for the updates and headlines that you need.

Not Taking WWE NXT Off Air

Earlier this month, the WWE NXT crowd were told to watch their language after heavy profanity was sent the way of Carmelo Hayes. Despite rumors suggesting last week’s NXT could have been taken off the air due to the chants, there was ‘no chance’ it would be taken off the air by the USA Network.

Baron Corbin Clinches Silver In Jiu-Jitsu World League, Vows to Win Gold Next Time

WWE NXT Tag Team Champion Baron Corbin is ready to improve after clinching a silver medal in a Jiu-Jitsu World League tournament.

Taking to Instagram, the Lone Wolf shared a photo of himself as well as the Bronze and Gold medalists on their respective podiums. Corbin admitted it wasn’t the result he wanted but is ready to learn from his mistakes.

Obviously not the result I wanted last night! Lost 2-0 on points in the finals. @the305mvp put it in perspective and said “You win or you learn. What did you learn?” I defn learned a few things and will get back in the Lab and work! The work is never done! @rudos_bjj already has a plan.

We all stumble and it should push us to get better. I’m taking home another gold in the next tournament. I hope the guy who beat me is there so I can get it back. Let’s go!

Baron Corbin in WWE

Corbin has been a part of the WWE roster since 2014. In addition to his current reign as an NXT Tag Team Champion with Joe Gacy, he is a former United States Champion. Corbin has also captured the King of the Ring crown and Money in the Bank briefcase but failed in his cash-in attempt.

Baron Corbin’s Fighting Prowess

Baron Corbin’s fighting skills were long established before he stepped foot in a WWE ring. He is a two-time Golden Gloves regional amateur boxing champion. In 2008, he competed in the Golden Gloves National Tournament of Champions in the super heavyweight division and made it to the quarter-finals.

More recently, Corbin captured gold at a different Jiu-Jitsu World League contest as a representative of the Rodos BJJ fighting gym. Alumni of Rudos BJJ include Matt Riddle, Shayna Baszler, and reigning WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY.

What Happens To Barron Corbin After His Partner Signed With WWE SmackDown?

Baron Corbin and Bron Breakker just became your new NXT Tag Team Champions this past Tuesday, but now Breakker is SmackDown bound. Fear not, fans of “Wolf Dogs.”

Although Bron Breakker may be headed for bluer horizons on Friday night, Fightful Select is reporting that officials have been very impressed with the pairing of Breakker and Corbin. They’ve appeared to leave enough of a mark together as a tag team that there’s been consideration to bring Baron up along with Bron on SmackDown.

Corbin and Breakker had a hard-hitting throwdown main event on NXT as the Dusty Rhodes Classic 2024 winners up-ended the D’Angelo Family to become the new champs.

This all happened despite Breakker making his main roster debut at the WWE Royal Rumble and then making an appearance on main roster programming as he considered his “free agent” options.

The latest episode of SmackDown featured GM Nick Aldis making it official that Breakker has been signed to his brand and that he will be exclusive to Fridays.

A Possible New Name For Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker?

Even if the future of the “Wolf Dogs” is up in the air, there is an interesting tidbit to add from the Fightful report. If the pairing between Corbin and Breakker continues to cultivate, a new name is being considered for the team.

Instead of “Wolf Dogs” WWE officials are considering “Spear Of Days” for the dynamic duo.

While they are the new champs, Corbin and Breakker have been teasing uncertainty considering Breakker’s future in WWE, but the Capitol Wrestling Center was fully behind their victory on Tuesday night.

New Champions: Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin Win WWE NXT Tag Team Gold

Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin were an unlikely team, but the two have proved that they are quite a pair. Now, they are NXT Tag Team Champions to top it all off.

New NXT Tag Team Champions

The Family, Tony D’Angelo and Stacks, were NXT Tag Team Champions. Then their match against the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winners was set for this week’s episode.

Breakker and Corbin battled D’Angelo and Stacks in the main event of this week’s show. Fans in the NXT Arena were also pulling for a title change. That finally went down as Breakker scored the pinfall after a spear.

This was a hard-fought match, as The Family was able to create some devastating offense to really slow down their opponents. Breakker also took a table break right before the finish went down, but he was able to make his way to the ring.

What’s Next

Bron Breakker was called up to the WWE main roster as part of his 2024 Royal Rumble entry. He appears to be going to the RAW brand, as I was told, but his time in NXT is obviously not over yet.

WWE has let champions in NXT get their main roster call-ups, only to lose the belts later. Sometimes, a title is relinquished instead of actually dropping it. Either way, Corbin and Breakker are starting a new run as champions.

SE Scoops will have more on this story as more information is made available.

Wrestlers React to Super Bowl LVIII As Kansas City Chiefs Win With Overtime Touchdown

The climactic finish to Super Bowl LVIII that saw the Kansas City Chiefs emerge supreme once again has had the wrestling world talking.

At the end of the fourth quarter, the Chiefs were tied 19-19 with the San Fransisco 49ers. In overtime, it looked like the 49ers were going to win. That was until the last second when the Chiefs scored, earning them the lead and their latest Super Bowl championship.

The Wrestling World Reacts

On Twitter, Baron Corbin shared his delight that the Chiefs are now back-to-back champions. The Lone Wolf, who had been backing the Chiefs from the start, couldn’t celebrate two loudly as his children were sleeping.

Naomi attended the game with Mercedes Mone and Bayley and the three had been backing the 49ers. Safe to say, the Glow was not pleased with the result.

WWE and TNA Wrestling Hall of Famer Bully Ray joked that the result was illegitimate with some wrestling terminology.

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose didn’t watch the game live but felt it would’ve been better had it taken place in the legendary Tokyo Dome used for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom.

Rose would also use an image of Travis Kelce at the game to tease Mercedes Mone’s expected arrival in AEW. The Boss will reportedly debut at the upcoming Big Business event in her hometown of Boston next month.

Music icon Taylor Swift was at the big game, rooting for her boyfriend Travis Kelce of the Chiefs. In a tweet, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus drew comparisons between herself and the Shake It Off star.

The United Football League owned by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, also reminded fans that their season kicks off next month.

Usher performed at the Big Game’s half time show, in a performance that left Chelsea Green deceased.

Corey Graves also had his own unique reaction to the Super Bowl half-time show.

And WWE themselves congratulated the Chiefs with the introduction of the new limited edition Super Bowl LVIII Champions Legacy title.

49ers Vs. Chiefs: WWE Superstars Give Their Picks for Super Bowl LVIII

The Superstars of WWE have weighed in as to whether it’ll be the San Francisco 49ers or the Kansas City Chiefs who stand tall at Super Bowl LVIII.

The Big Game is mere hours away with excitement for the Super Bowl at a fever pitch. The match will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, which WWE fans will recognize as the host of SummerSlam 2021.

WWE Stars Give Their Picks for Super Bowl LVIII: 49ers or Chiefs?

Football fans have their picks for who’ll be winning Super Bowl LVIII, as do the WWE Superstars. In a recent video, the Superstars were asked for their predictions for the Big Game.

In the 49ers’ corner, the team has Jey Uso, who made it clear he’s red and gold ’til he’s dead and cold and threw in a YEET for good measure. San Francisco’s own ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio is unsurprisingly backing the 49ers, as is the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match winner Bayley and Alpha Academy’s Otis.

The Kansas City Chiefs have some considerable star power of their own, in addition to Taylor Swift. R-Truth is backing the Chiefs, while Baron Corbin was practically offended anyone thought he wouldn’t be rooting for the team. Carlito is also backing the 49ers, as is WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. WWE Raw announcer Samantha Irvin is also backing the 49ers.

Not everyone had a clear-cut favorite, as Byron Saxton said that Taylor Swift was going to win the game herself. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka and Kairi Sane simply laughed off the question. When the pair were asked the question in 2020 (which again featured the 49ers and the Chiefs), the Kabuki Warriors made it clear that they didn’t care.

There’s some WWE involvement happening right now at Super Bowl LVIII…

Roman Reigns Celebrates Historic Anniversary Today

Roman Reigns is an unprecedented talent in the modern era of professional wrestling and although outcomes are predetermined, what he has achieved is impressive for the current day.

With his WWE Undisputed Universal Championship reign, Roman has rivaled historical names such as Bruno Sammartino and Hulk Hogan for the length of time he’s held the gold. And with such a reign comes plenty of wins and a mere handful of losses.

As of December 15, it marks four years since Reigns has been pinned in a singles match and the person to do such is a surprising one. One on one, Baron Corbin is the last person to keep Roman down for the three count.

While Reigns may unofficially be the current “king” of WWE, Corbin was King Corbin back in December 2019 and he took on Reigns in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs match at TLC 2019. The two battled for over 20 minutes, but Corbin had some help from wrestlers who are actually no longer with the company.

Dolph Ziggler and The Revival, now better known as FTR in AEW, stacked the deck against a babyface Roman in the battle. Chairs were used in thwarting Reigns’ progress and  Corbin ultimately hit his End Of Days finisher on a chair for the 1-2-3.

Reigns did find himself getting pinned this past July at Money In The Bank, but that was in tag team action as he and his cousin Solo Sikoa lost to The Usos. It was Jey who secured the only other pinfall on “The Tribal Chief.”

MJF Meets John Cena & Other WWE Names at The Iron Claw Premiere

The stars were out for the premiere of The Iron Claw, with AEW World Champion MJF being joined by names from WWE.

The Iron Claw delves into the lives and numerous tragedies of the Von Erich wrestling family. The wrestling lineage began with Fritz Von Erich (real name Jack Adkisson,) and his sons would also find success in the squared circle. The Von Erichs are still a force in wrestling today with Marshall & Ross Von Erich competing to this day.

WWE & AEW Collide on the Red Carpet

MJF plays Lance Von Erich in the new film, a kayfabe relation of the family who doesn’t mesh well with the actual Von Erich wrestlers. MJF also serves as an executive producer for the film so it was hardly a surprise to see him walk the red carpet for the premiere. What may have surprised fans though is that MJF was joined by some of WWE’s top names, including 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena.

Cena wasn’t the only notable name to meet up with MJF at the premiere. The reigning AEW World Champion could also be seen with NXT Superstar Baron Corbin.

Liv Morgan was also at last night’s premiere of The Iron Claw. Morgan is currently out of action with an injury and attended a party with MJF last October

MJF in the Iron Claw

John Cena may have made ‘You Can’t See Me’ his catcphrase, but wrestling fans may struggle to see MJF in The Iron Claw. The reigning AEW World Champion appears for a few seconds in one scene and has no lines in the film. MJF originally had a much bigger role in the film before edits were made
