John Cena continues to mock Baron Corbin

On this past Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown, John Cena referred to Baron Corbin as a “dumpster fire”. The entire crowd then began chanting “dumpster fire” at Corbin while he was on the entrance ramp. Cena continued to mock Corbin by posting the following photo on Instagram earlier today:

SmackDown General Manager made Cena versus Corbin at WWE SummerSlam official. Cena challenged Corbin to a match on Tuesday night’s SmackDown but Corbin refused. Bryan then emerged from backstage and noted that Corbin clearly wasn’t dressed to wrestle that night and made the match for SummerSlam on August 20th.

Nikki Bella blasts Baron Corbin on Twitter

Corbin posted on Twitter that John Cena insulting him on SmackDown made Cena no better than the trolls on social media. Nikki Bella responded and it led to the following exchange:

Kevin Owens on his 3 year anniversary in WWE

Kevin Owens took to Twitter today to state that he signed with WWE three years ago today and that it has worked out pretty great for everyone. Owens will face AJ Styles at WWE SummerSlam on August 20th. SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon will be the special referee for that match.

Dave Meltzer Says Baron Corbin Is Not Ready To Be WWE Champion, Corbin Responds

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that he believes that Baron Corbin is not ready to become WWE Champion. Meltzer stated that Corbin was getting a push because of WWE’s “fetish with tall guys” and that Corbin needed to improve his promos.

Here is what Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio:

“I’m not saying Baron Corbin should never get pushed down the line or anything like that if he improves, that is fine. But him as World Champion now, at least with Jinder there’s an excuse but Baron Corbin it’s just like it’s their freaking fetish with tall guys. It is like, what has he done? What great matches has Baron Corbin had with anybody? You know, nothing. What great promos has he done?

His promos suck. Has he improved? Yes, he’s improved a lot. Yes, he can be in a tag team main event when he’s in there with AJ Styles and Sami Zayn and do his part? Yes, yes he’s okay there with Kevin Owens as a partner. Can he be a bully to Sami Zayn in an undercard match and have an average undercard match? Yes, he can. That’s not a World Champion”

Corbin reacted to a tweet by WrestlingNews.co that quoted Meltzer:

John Cena’s SummerSlam Opponent Announced, Updated PPV Card

John Cena kicked off this week’s episode of SmackDown and danced along to “John Cena sucks!” chants on the entrance ramp. Cena came down to the ring and stood with a smile on his face as the crowd booed and cheered. Cena discussed Shinsuke Nakamura defeating him last week and earning a shot at the WWE Championship at WWE SummerSlam.

Cena said that Shinsuke is afraid of nothing and a “Nakamura” chant broke out in the crowd. John noted that for a while he didn’t know why people were chanting Nakamura’s name, but last week he found out why. Cena said that Nakamura hits extremely hard and that he was shocked when he found out that he lost. Cena said that he shook Shinsuke’s hand after the match because Nakamura earned the right to call himself a champion.

Baron Corbin interrupted and said that he was so sick and tired of people talking about the stupid handshake after the match. Corbin said that he was Mr. Money in the Bank and that means that he is the future and that he has no problem making Cena a part of the past. Cena responded by calling Corbin “a skinny-fat overrated dumpster fire”. Cena then pointed to a sign in the crowd that read “Baron Corbin is a dumpster fire” and the entire crowd started chanting “dumpster fire!” at Corbin.

Cena challenged Corbin to come down to the ring for a fight. Corbin declined and said that John Cena isn’t worth his time because he has nothing he wants. SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan then came down to the entrance ramp and had a stare down with Corbin as the crowd chanted “yes!”.

Daniel Bryan tried to talk but the entire Toronto crowd started chanting his name. Bryan acknowledged the crowd and then directed his attention back to Corbin. Bryan said that he doesn’t know if Corbin is a dumpster or the future. Bryan then announced that Baron Corbin will face John Cena at WWE SummerSlam on August 20th.

Potential Spoiler On John Cena’s SummerSlam Opponent

Last week on SmackDown Live, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated John Cena to earn a shot against WWE Champion Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam. With less than two weeks until the pay-per-view, “free agent” John Cena is still without an opponent for the show. According to a report at PWInsider.com, Cena will be working against Money in the Bank contract holder Baron Corbin.

After last week’s SmackDown went off the air, Baron Corbin attacked Shinsuke Nakamura, who had just defeated John Cena in the main event. Cena made the save and slammed Corbin through the announce table with an Attitude Adjustment, setting the stage for their SummerSlam showdown.

As we’ve noted in recent weeks, Cena will be competing on the RAW brand after SummerSlam. Cena is advertised for most episodes of RAW following SummerSlam leading up to the RAW brand’s No Mercy PPV on September 24th, where Cena will also be competing.

Cena is not advertised for the RAW after SummerSlam and will be missing the September 18th episode of RAW, as he’ll be appearing on a SmackDown live event from China.

John Cena is currently starring in Season 2 of the American Grit reality competition series, which airs Sunday nights on FOX.

Baron Corbin Has New Entrance Music (Video)

SmackDown Superstar Baron Corbin has new entrance music. Mr. Money in the Bank’s new theme song premiered over the weekend at WWE’s live event from Ottowa:

Corbin still holds the Money in the Bank contract that guarantees him a shot at the WWE Championship at a time of his choosing. As of this writing, he’s not booked for SummerSlam.

After last week’s SmackDown Live went off the air, Corbin attacked Shinsuke Nakamura, who had just defeated John Cena in the main event to earn a shot against WWE Champion Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam. John Cena made the save and slammed Corbin through the announce table with an Attitude Adjustment.

More Heat On Enzo For Bringing ‘Questionable’ Guests Backstage

As noted previously, Enzo Amore was kicked off a WWE tour bus by Roman Reigns. It has also been reported that Enzo may be moved away from WWE RAW in an effort to get Amore away from Vince McMahon.

Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated is now reporting that Amore is guilty of “bringing a series of questionable guests into the locker room. The visitors broke locker room etiquette by filming and taking pictures of the wrestlers”. This apparently bothered several WWE talents who believe that Amore should know better by now.

Finn Balor & Baron Corbin Trade Shots, WWE’s Top 10 SummerSlam Entrances

Finn Balor and Baron Corbin trade shots on Twitter

Finn Balor posted yesterday that he forgot to do his ab crunches. Baron Corbin then responded and started to make fun of Balor’s size. Finn fired back with a shot of his own about Baron Corbin’s mid-section.

Kurt Angle On Staying Sober, SmackDown Star Debuts New Theme Song

– On Saturday, Kurt Angle celebrated his four year anniversary of remaining sober. Regarding this, the Raw General Manager posted the following on Instagram.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BXeL2ecAxF8/

Angle’s struggle with addiction is well-documented. Prior to the 1996 Summer Olympics, Angle fractured two of his cervical vertebrae but was able to wrestle by receiving Novocaine injections in his neck. Angle eventually became addicted to Vicodin and was taking 65 extra-strength Vicodin pills a day at the height of his addiction. After he moved from WWE to TNA in 2006, he began mixing his medication with alcohol and his life spiraled out of control.

During a Reddit AMA in March, Angle said his wife, Giovanna, threatened to leave him if he didn’t clean himself up.

“[She said], ‘Listen, I love you, but you have had 4 DUI’s already. I love you but I can’t stay with you. I can’t live like this. You pass out every night at 7 o’clock and you don’t spend any time with the kids,'” Angle recalled when asked about his lowest moment.

That’s when Angle realized he had to turn his life around.

“She wanted me,” Angle said. “She wanted the Kurt Angle that she knew. So I decided to check into rehab. That’s where my rock bottom came.”

– At tonight’s WWE live event in Ottawa, Ontario featuring SmackDown LIVE talent, Baron Corbin came out to a new theme song. You can hear a snippet on WWE’s Snapchat.

– In John Cena’s latest “Hard Nocks South” video documenting his various workout routines in his gym of the same name, the WWE Superstar increases weight on cleans and squats.

John Cena vs Shinsuke Nakamura Finish Reportedly Changed, Original Plans Revealed

WWE.com accidentally posted in their SmackDown Live recap that Baron Corbin interfered in the match between Shinsuke Nakamura and John Cena. That obviously did not happen, as Corbin attacked Nakamura after SmackDown went off the air. Cena then came back down to the ring and hit him with an Attitude Adjustment through the announce table.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plan was indeed to have Corbin interfere in the match and go Nakamura. Ultimately, his plan would backfire and he would take out Cena and Nakamura would get the victory. This would then lead to Cena versus Corbin at SummerSlam and Nakamura versus Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at the PPV as well.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is unsure if it was Cena that wanted Nakamura to win the match clean, or if Vince McMahon simply changed his mind about the finish of the match. Cena is not currently scheduled for a match, however it seems likely that he will face Baron Corbin given the events that took place after SmackDown went off the air on Tuesday.

Here is what was posted on WWE.com before it was edited:

“The following week, The Leader of the Cenation squared off against The King of Strong Style in an intense showdown to see who would have the right to challenge The Modern-Day Maharaja for the WWE Title. With the two Superstars going toe-to-toe in the heart-stopping bout, Baron Corbin suddenly interfered. While The Lone Wolf seemed intent on handing Nakamura the defeat, his plan backfired, and he inadvertently helped his nemesis pick up an incredible victory over Cena.”

Baron Corbin Explains Why Winning Money In The Bank Was ‘Terrifying’

WWE Superstar and “Mr. Money In The Bank” Baron Corbin did an interview with FOX 8 Cleveland this morning to promote tonight’s (Tues. August 1, 2017) SmackDown Live. “The Lone Wolf” talked about a variety of topics regarding his professional wrestling career, including what it was like winning the briefcase, terrifying whoever is the WWE Champion, and his extensive athletic background before joining WWE. Here are the highlights:

It being ‘terrifying’ to win the Money In The Bank briefcase:

“It was terrifying, because I’m on a 16 foot ladder and it’s moving, and there are people trying to throw me off of it – and that’s the thing too I thought, ‘Oh it’s a ladder, it’ll be easy.’ And even just kind of walking through things and climbing up the ladder I was like ‘Wait, this is moving.’ And then I’m gonna add five other people to being in the match, and I have to take both hands off the ladder to unclip it and I’m going, ‘Please, just don’t fall off, don’t be here for five minutes trying to…’ It’s an experience, but I walked away with it (the briefcase).”

Terrorizing whoever is WWE Champ now that he has the briefcase:

“They always have to be on their toes. I can come out any time, anywhere, any city, any country, I mean anywhere I want to cash that in I can and it’s not fun for them to always have to look over their shoulder.”

Playing in the NFL and boxing before joining WWE:

“My resume was funny growing up. I was in the gym the other day and this kid was like, ‘Who are you?’ Tyler Breeze threw me right under the bus saying I was a professional wrestler. He was like googling me and said, ‘Wait you played in the NFL? You were a Golden Gloves champion in boxing? You’ve lived a life!’ I was like, ‘Yeah man, everything I did tailored me to get where I am now.’

“Going through college football, the NFL, boxing, doing the Golden Gloves, all that has led me to walk around with a briefcase that’s bright blue, hold a contract in it that allows me to make my debut at WrestleMania and be successful. All those things are in line for me and everything I’ve gone through in sports has made me successful in WWE.”

Baron Corbin responds to criticism on Twitter

Baron Corbin responded to fan that suggested that he might cancel his WWE Network subscription because Baron Corbin won the MITB briefcase and Big Cass is getting a push on RAW. Here was his response:

Kodiak Berry now has 32 followers, so mission accomplished I guess. Corbin won the Money in the Bank briefcase last month and that guarantees him a shot at the WWE Championship whenever he wants it. Corbin has been in a feud with Shinsuke Nakamura recently on SmackDown and the two will face off this Sunday at WWE Battleground.

Baron Corbin Gives Kid His Shirt, Denies Being A Good Guy

After Smackdown and 205 Live last night, Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Baron Corbin in a dark match.

Video of Corbin appearing to console an upset young fan after the match was posted earlier this morning:

Did Corbin Break Character?

If Baron Corbin broke character upon seeing the young fan upset, he was back in character later on social media. According to Corbin, he is related to the youngster, and would not do anything similar for kids he doesn’t know.

The 32-year old Corbin is a former Golden Gloves boxing champion, and attended pre-season camps with the both the Indianapolis Colts and Arizona Cardinals. He was signed to a WWE contract in August of 2012.

Since debuting on the main roster, Baron Corbin has already won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and the Money in the Bank briefcase.

What Current WWE Star Just Bought Undertaker’s Old House?

WWE released a statement earlier regarding a unique real estate purchase by one of their superstars. This particuliar house has now been owned by 3 WWE superstars. The most recent owner, the Big Show, had originally purchased the property from the Undertaker, but has now sold it to a younger superstar.

The house is designed for a tall, giant-like person, as both Big Show and the Undertaker are. This made it an appealing purchase for the home’s newest owner, Baron Corbin.

Corbin had this to say on Chris Jericho’s podcast recently:

“It was built for a tall man.” “Everything is way taller than it should be”

Baron Corbin

For 32 year old Baron Corbin, pro-wrestling is the 3rd athletic endeavour he has succeeded at a high level in.

Before embarking on a football career, Corbin was a 2x Golden Gloves boxing champion. He played 2 pre-seasons in the NFL after 4 seasons of Div II football in college. In 2010 he went to camp with the Colts and in 2011 with the Cardinals. There were reports that Corbin was disciplined privately for throwing upper-cuts during skirmishes.

He signed with WWE in 2012, the year after he was released from the Arizona Cardinals.

Brock Lesnar’s Opponent for July 29th Announced, Updated Schedule

Brock Lesnar has been advertised as appearing for several dates leading up to SummerSlam. Following the Great Balls of Fire PPV, Lesnar is scheduled to appear the following night on Raw, but then be absent until a Detroit house show later this month.

His opponent that night was recently revealed to be the current Money in the Bank champion, Baron Corbin.

Why is Brock Lesnar Wrestling a Smackdown Live Event?

As we saw this weekend, when Rollins replaced Nakamura in Vancouver, the brand-split doesn’t always apply to house shows. Lesnar is scheduled for another Smackdown Live event on August 12th in Tampa. The dates most likely work conveniently for Lesnar, or WWE has particular interest in drawing a larger than average house those nights.

Brock Lesnar’s Upcoming Schedule

Lesnar is also scheduled for the July 31st, August 17th and August 28th episodes of Raw, as well as the August 20th SummerSlam PPV. Strangely, he is not scheduled to be at Raw the night after SummerSlam on August 20th, despite being scheduled for the PPV the night before.

WWE Superstars Blast LaVar Ball Segment on Monday Night RAW

On Monday’s WWE RAW from Los Angeles, Lakers first round draft pick Lono Ball, father LaVar and brother LaMelo Ball appeared on the show as guests on Miz TV. LaVar and Miz went at it on the mic, LaVar ripped off his shirt to challenge The Miz, and LaMelo was caught using a racial slur on the mic.

The family’s appearance drew a ton of headlines across the sport media newswire, however, it wasn’t too well received by the WWE Universe and WWE Superstars themselves. Monday Night RAW Superstar Curtis Axel took to Twitter to comment on the ‘dumba**’ LaVall Ball’s appearance and told him to ‘stay off our stage’:

https://twitter.com/RealCurtisAxel/status/879555457764872192

Mr. Money In The Bank, Baron Corbin, commented on the WWE’s Instagram post of The Ball Family backstage and commented on the fact that LaVar cost his son millions of dollars in sponsorship deals:

Baron Corbin Reacts To Money In The Bank Win, Confronts Jinder Mahal (Video)

Baron Corbin spoke to ESPN.com about his big win at Sunday night’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view. As the latest MITB briefcase holder, Corbin has the chance to ‘cash in’ at any time and challenge any champion on SmackDown to an impromptu title match.

Corbin told ESPN, “It’s an amazing moment. I’m here to leave my mark in WWE history. I started that on Day 1 when I walked in and won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and now tonight, being Mr. Money in the Bank, pulling that briefcase down.”

He continued, “History shows that anybody who gets their hands on the briefcase becomes WWE champion, and so I have no doubts in my mind that that’s next for me. That’s the next step in my career, and this briefcase is going to help achieve that, and nobody’s going to take that away from me.”

On the post-MITB edition of Talking Smack, Corbin confronted WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. It remains to be seen if Corbin decides to cash in on Mahal or if he waits until Jinder is dethroned by a certain returning WWE legend.

Video: AJ Styles Talks Cashing-In MITB, Lana on Her SDL Women’s Title Shot, Corbin on Attacking Nakamura

– In the video below, SmackDown Live star AJ Styles joined Talking Smack following last night’s (Tues. June 6, 2017) episode of SmackDown Live to discuss the upcoming Money In The Bank (MITB) Ladder match and when he’d cash-in if he were to win.

Styles said it would all depend on how he feels after the match and if he’s in good physical condition. “The Phenomenal One” stated “Winners find a way to win,” and if he gets the briefcase, he’s focused on cashing in at the right time:

– As we’ve previously reported, Lana made her SmackDown Live debut last night and also joined Talking Smack. Lana discussed receiving a shot at the SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Naomi at the MITB pay-per-view (PPV), seeing as the rest of the women’s division will be involved in the first ever female MITB Ladder Match.

Lana claimed that SmackDown Live is “The Land Of Opportunity” and also said she has had doubters her entire life telling her she’d never amount to anything. After crossing the ocean and making it out of her ‘pathetic’ little village in Russia, look at where she is now. “The Ravishing Russian” says she will prove all her doubters wrong against Naomi and vows to make history. Baron Corbin Attacks Sami Zayn, Breezango Celebrates Victory (Videos)

Baron Corbin Attacks Sami Zayn During Talking Smack

The more things change, the more they stay the same for Sami Zayn. Sami joined the SmackDown roster after WWE’s Superstar Shake-Up. Zayn had a rough go of it on RAW and people really wanted him to join the SmackDown roster. Since joining SmackDown, Zayn has lost a #1 contenders match for the US Title and lost a #1 contenders match for the WWE Championship. Now, Zayn is back to getting his ass kicked by Superstars that are much bigger than him.

Zayn spent a long time on RAW getting destroyed by Braun Strowman. He played the role of Kalisto in this past week’s Dumpster Match on RAW. Instead of Kurt Angle asking Kalisto if he was sure that he wanted to fight Strowman, it was at the time RAW GM Mick Foley begging Zayn not to enter a match with Braun. Zayn wound up asking for a trade to SmackDown and Foley shot it down.

Now, Zayn is finally on SmackDown and it appears he is going to enter a feud with Baron Corbin. WWE is very high on Corbin and folks like Jim Ross believe he is a future main-eventer. Zayn may have switched brands, but his role on the show looks like it has remained the same. Last night on Talking Smack, Baron Corbin attacked Sami Zayn. It was retaliation for Zayn hitting a Helluva Kick on Corbin earlier in the night. Corbin beat the hell out of Zayn and also launched a referee across the room.

Breezango Celebrate Becoming #1 Contenders To SmackDown Tag Team Championships

Breezango competed in a Beat The Clock Challenge last night on SmackDown to determine the #1 contenders to the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Breezango defeated The Ascension in the quickest amount of time and will now face The Usos at WWE Backlash for the titles. WWE has uploaded a new video of Breezango celebrating their victory.

Everything That Happened On This Week’s Talking Smack

Daniel Bryan announced that The Miz and Maryse will be fined $5,000 for Maryse slapping Renee Young earlier on Smackdown.

Baron Corbin was the first guest on the show. It was announced that Corbin will face John Cena next week. Corbin claimed that Smackdown beat Raw in the ratings last week because he was in the main event. Corbin said that he is looking past John Cena and focusing on the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. Daniel Bryan didn’t think it was wise to look past John Cena. Corbin said that there is no way a part time wrestler can beat him. After Corbin left, Daniel Bryan praised Corbin’s confidence and said that he didn’t disagree with Corbin that he had a major part in the ratings for Smackdown. Bryan also said that Baron Corbin looked dominant last week in the main event of Smackdown and he wouldn’t be surprised if Corbin won the Royal Rumble match.

Daniel Bryan discussed part time wrestlers and said that Ambrose has wrestled the most matches this year. Bryan said that Ambrose has been main eventing almost every WWE live event and he understands why wrestlers may be angry with part timers that show up and take the best matches at Wrestlemania. Carmella and James Ellsworth then joined Talking Smack. Renee Young questioned that their relationship was legitimate. Ellsworth tried to apologize to Daniel Bryan about interfering in Carmella’s match earlier in the night but Carmella stopped him. Daniel Bryan thought it was absurd that Ellsworth interfered in a women’s match. Renee asked what do Carmella and Ellsworth do for fun? Carmella said that Ellsworth is really great at holding the bags when they go shopping. Carmella was also wearing the James Ellsworth shirt and at one point called him “Jimmy”. Renee Young continued to question the relationship between Carmella and Ellsworth after they left. Daniel Bryan then said that Ellsworth might be bringing something to the table that we don’t know about. Bryan then added that Ellsworth might be bigger than we think he is.

https://twitter.com/totaldivaseps/status/816497727047667713

The Miz then stormed the set and angrily stared at both Renee Young and Daniel Bryan. The Miz chastised Daniel Bryan for allowing Renee Young to get involved. The Miz also complained that the referee should have disqualified him because Maryse slapped Dean Ambrose. The Miz also ranted that Dean Ambrose didn’t deserve the match in the first place. Daniel Bryan claimed that The Miz only thinks that Superstars don’t deserve matches because he knows that they are better than him and he cannot defeat them. The Miz then completely lost his mind and went on a crazy rant. His face was completely red and he started slamming on the table. The Miz claimed that he was the best wrestler in the WWE. Talking Smack ended with The Miz whipping his microphone across the set while shouting that he was sick of this company and everyone plotting against him. The Miz then stormed off and the show abruptly ended.

Main Event & More Announced For Next Week’s SmackDown

WWE has announced a loaded line-up for next Tuesday’s SmackDown from Baton Rouge, Louisiana:

– SmackDown Tag Team Champions American Alpha defend against The Wyatt Family in their rematch

– Nikki Bella does battle with Natalya

– John Cena and Baron Corbin face off in the main event

Ziggler & Corbin On Smackdown, Kevin Owens Versus Penguin, Alexa Bliss Video

The WWE announced via Twitter that Dolph Ziggler will once again be facing Baron Corbin this Tuesday night on Smackdown. The Miz will also be defending his Intercontinental Championship against Dean Ambrose on the show.

The WWE also posted a video of Kevin Owens dropping a penguin decoration off of the entrance ramp at a live event in Boston.

In the latest Canvas 2 Canvas video, WWE artist Rob Shamberger created a painting of the Smackdown Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss.
