New Entrance & Theme Song For Bayley Revealed At WWE House Show

The transition into a new character for WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley is still underway.

While Bayley has portrayed a heel character on WWE television for weeks now, changes have been made. Significant changes were shown off on Friday Night SmackDown when she showed off new gear and look as she has cut her hair shorter.

In fact, she beat Charlotte Flair on SmackDown in Las Vegas, Nevada at the T-Mobile Arena on FOX this past Friday to regain the title.

Fast forward to Saturday night at a WWE live event in Odessa, TX at the Ector County Coliseum, Bayley revealed a new entrance with a different theme song.

At this show, she lost a tag team match to WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Flair when she teamed up with Tamina.

Footage of her new entrance was captured by fans in attendance at the house show, which you can see here:

Bayley Wins WWE SmackDown Women’s Title, Shows Off New Look

Charlotte Flair’s reign as WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion didn’t last long as Bayley is back on top as champ.

Bayley beat Flair to win the title in the main event on this week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Las Vegas, Nevada at the T-Mobile Arena on FOX. As a result, Bayley is now a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Prior to the match, Bayley showed off a new look as she cut her hair as its shorter. After the match, Bayley cut a promo about how she can’t excite the fans anymore, which she called “bi**hes” and that “screw all of you.”

Bayley just dropped the title to Flair in one of the top matches this past Sunday at the WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event in Sacramento, California at the Golden 1 Center on the WWE Network.

Bayley became the champion when she won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and later that night cashed in the contract on Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

The two stars have been feuding on television for a few months now.

Bayley Keeps SmackDown Women’s Title In Clash Of Champions Defense

Despite her accomplishments, Charlotte Flair wasn’t the star to dethrone Bayley on top of the women’s division on the WWE SmackDown Live roster.

The match was set up on the August 20th episode of SmackDown Live when Flair appeared on Alexa Bliss’ talk show, A Moment of Bliss, alongside Nikki Cross.

This led to Bayley coming out which is where Flair issued the challenge and Bayley accepted. The segment ended with Bayley pushing Flair off her chair.

WWE Clash Of Champions Results (9/15)

Bayley successfully retained the SmackDown Women’s Title over Flair. This match took place at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view event in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Spectrum Center.

The two stars have been working live events as of late. Bayley actually won the title from Flair at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view this past May.

Bayley became the champion when she won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and later that night cashed in the contract on Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

This happened after Flair had beaten Becky Lynch to win the title yet again.

Becky Lynch Mocks Bayley Over Not Being Featured In SmackDown Advertisement

WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch decided to have some fun with WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley on social media.

Lynch shared a photo of a SmackDown ad for the FOX Network. In the graphic, Lynch is listed with WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, Roman Reigns, and Charlotte Flair.

Lynch would also write the following in the caption of the photo on her official Twitter account:

“Hey Bayley, isn’t it great to see the women’s champion get so much attention on the new Smackdown ads for Fox? You’re doing amazing, Sweetie.” She later followed it up with, “I was a little petty there. I’ve been stabbed in the back a lot, but your one really hurt. Now you know I’ll have to make that right someday. See you soon.”

Lacey Evans, who feuded with Lynch over the RAW Women’s Title earlier this year, chimed in and referred to the comments as “classless and embarrassing.” Lynch would respond to this:

https://twitter.com/BeckyLynchWWE/status/1172225648380829696

This jab comes after Bayley turned heel by attacking Lynch two weeks ago and aligning herself with Sasha Banks.

Also, this past Monday night on RAW, WWE booked a tag team match between the Four Horsewomen.

The premiere episode of WWE SmackDown Live on the FOX network will be a 20th Anniversary special. The October 4th show takes place from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California.

WWE’s Four Horsewomen Discuss RAW Tag Team Match, Future Ambitions

Tonight’s Monday Night RAW will see RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch team up with Charlotte Flair against SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks. Ahead of this Four Horsewomen reunion, all four Superstars sat down with ESPN.com to discuss their tag match. They also spoke about their future ambitions.

When it comes to tonight’s match at Madison Square Garden, Bayley reflected that “The four of us will always be tied together and having a match with all of us in a place like MSG is special. I came up to the main roster last and this is one of the only times we’ve all been in the ring together on the main roster.”

“It’s a pretty big moment especially in somewhere like MSG, which is so historical,” Lynch added. “It’s a whole different kettle of fish now, and I’m a whole different woman now.

Sasha Banks commented on how “It’s really crazy to know that I’m gonna be in the ring with these girls that I started with and I haven’t been in the ring with them for a very long time.”

Our stories are so intertwined if you go back to the beginning,” Flair said. “But I will say for Monday, this is the first time that the four of us have been on Raw together — just the four of us in a solo storyline.”

Never Satisfied

When it comes to their future plans, Bayley admitted that, despite everything they have achieved, none of them will ever be content or satisfied. Lynch added to this idea, claiming she would like to main event more shows.

“Just more main events,” Lynch said. “Just constantly main eventing and generating interest, whether it’s the main event or not. And that’s what we’re doing. Look, that’s all I’ve ever wanted — for women’s wrestling to be the coolest thing on TV, for people to be talking, for people to have opinions, for people to be so invested they can’t miss our matches.

Banks doesn’t want to main event more pay-per-views—she wants to main event every single one. She explained she wanted to main event every major show as well as every TV show and Live Event. “I want it just like as the guys do — I want to have it all. I’m never gonna be satisfied. Even when I get that, I’m gonna want more. That’s just the kind of person that I am.”

Charlotte Flair, however, believes that although it may not take place next year or even in a few years, a Fatal Four Way match between them will eventually main event WrestleMania:

“I hope the future holds the four of us in a Fatal Four Way in the main event of WrestleMania. That’s what I hope the future holds. I’m not saying it’s this year, next year, the next or the next after that. But eventually I truly believe that the Fatal Four Way will be a main event match at WrestleMania.”

Bayley Has Harsh Words For Charlotte Flair, Wants To Elevate The Women’s Division

During last night’s episode SmackDown Live, Bayley came out during Charlotte Flair’s interview time on A Moment of Bliss. She ended up pushing Flair off her chair.

After the show, the SmackDown Women’s Champion had some harsh words for Flair ahead of their matchup at Clash of Champions.

“Come on, you know you want to do that sometimes,” Bayley joked. “She talks a little too much, I know everybody wants to push her just a little bit or shut her mouth. We all knew Charlotte was gonna come after me. It was only a matter of time before she challenged me for the title.”

Bayley continued, “She’s too wrapped up in her own head to realize what I’m trying to do. And when I say I want to elevate this title and this division, I’m not talking about me, her, or just right now in the current division. I’m talking about 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 years from now. The future. Because what we’re doing right now matters. They’re going to remember what we’re doing right now.”

She claimed that what she’s trying to do for the women’s division is akin to what Trish Stratus did for them, and that, unlike Charlotte who is too selfish, she wants to help prepare the division for the next generation.

“Charlotte Flair, you can live on the red carpet. You can rack up all of your appearances, you can have the most appearances of all the women in the division, but you’ll never understand that what I’m doing right now is what Trish Stratus did for us. Right now, I’m helping the division for the next generation, and that is something that Charlotte Flair is too selfish to understand.”

Bayley Wants WWE To Create Queen Of The Ring Tournament

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley wants WWE to create a version for women stars that is similar to the King of the Ring.

Bayley talked about the return of the King of the Ring tournament during an appearance on the KSFY Morning News while promoting a WWE show.

Since the news of the return of the fan-favorite tournament, fans have been pushing for a Queen of the Ring tournament. This is something that Bayley agrees with.

Jerry Lawler Explains Why He’s Not Too Crazy About WWE King Of The Ring

“We kinda want a Queen of the Ring. If you guys could make that happen, I would love that.”

Time will tell whether or not WWE will actually create such a tournament. It wouldn’t be a big change as WWE has done the same thing with various matches and gimmicks for female talent.

This includes a women’s Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and Money in the Bank among others.

There was a rumor going back to last year where WWE was considering the idea of a Queen of the Ring tournament. Obviously, that never came to be.

The most recent tournament for women came in the form of the Mae Young Classic, which is an all-women’s tournament featuring top Independent talent.

WWE has yet to announce the 2019 Mae Young Classic.

Match Advertised For SmackDown’s Fox Debut, Bayley On Sasha Banks’ Actions On Raw

Match Advertised For SmackDown’s Fox Debut

WWE is locally advertising a big triple threat match between the current WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler for SmackDown’s Fox debut on 4rth October.

While it’s possible that this bout ends up being a dark match on the show, it looks to be a good enough match for the Blue Branded Show’s first episode on the network.

Other stars advertised for the event built as the 20th-anniversary special of the show include WWE Hall of Famers Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Goldberg, Jerry Lawler, Mark Henry, Ric Flair and Sting.

Bayley On Sasha Banks’ Actions On Raw

Before former Women’s Champion Sasha Banks went on a hiatus from WWE, she was teaming with Bayley, who is currently holding the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

After Sasha’s shocking return and heel turn during this week’s Raw, her former partner was asked about the Boss’ behavior in a backstage interview during the broadcast of SmackDown Live.

However, replying to the question, Bayley said that the whole world knows Sasha is her best friend but Natalya and Becky Lynch are also her friends and so she will keep her mouth shut on the matter:

Bayley Teases Title Match Against NXT Star

WWE confirmed on this week’s episode of Raw that after SummerSlam, Clash Of Champions will be their next PPV event and shortly after the announcement was made, we saw a very interesting exchange between two WWE Stars.

The current SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley sent out a tweet to NXT Star Candice LeRae asking if she wanted a match at the upcoming PPV and the NXT Star replied positively:

It’s unknown whether this is actually a setup for a match between the two but with Clash Of Champions featuring all the main roster champions, it’s at least confirmed that Bayley will be defending her title at the show.

Candice LeRae, who is also the wife of former NXT Champion Johnny Gargano, signed a contract with WWE in 2017.

After spending more than a decade in the independent circuit, she made her debut for the development brand of WWE in May 2017. She has gotten involved in a number of short feuds since then.

It’s worth mentioning here that LeRae has previously made a main roster appearance when she competed in the Women’s Royal Rumble match during the 2017 edition of the PPV of the same name.

Clash Of Champions will take place on September 15 from the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC.

Bayley Keeps SmackDown Women’s Title In SummerSlam Defense

Ember Moon wasn’t the star to dethrone Bayley on top of the women’s division on the WWE SmackDown Live roster.

Bayley successfully retained the SmackDown Women’s Title over Moon. This match took place at Sunday’s (August 11, 2019) WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event in Toronto, Ontario at the Scotiabank Arena.

WWE SummerSlam 2019 Results & Live Coverage (8/11)

The match was set up when Bayley noted in an interview that she would like to face Moon after the two of them defeated Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville in tag-team action on an episode of SmackDown Live in July.

Bayley became the champion when she won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and later that night cashed in the contract on Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

This happened after Flair had beaten Becky Lynch to win the title yet again. Time will tell whether WWE continues this feud.

It’s possible that WWE goes into a different direction heading into the Clash of Champions pay-per-view event on Sunday, September 15, 2019 in Charlotte, North Carolina at the Spectrum Center.

Bayley Believes WWE Didn’t Give Her & Sasha Banks A Chance With Tag Titles

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champions Bayley recently did an interview with talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy that is set to be released on Thursday.

McCarthy sent out an excerpt from the interview on Twitter that included Bayley’s comments on the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

This is where she noted that she felt the company didn’t give them a fair chance with the titles during their reign.

Bayley said, “We thought Sasha and I would be given that chance and we weren’t. We then thought the IIconics would get that chance, they didn’t really.”

She added that she wished the best to Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss, who just won the titles, with their reign as she thinks “the titles have so much potential.”

Banks hasn’t wrestled or even been seen on WWE television since WrestleMania 35 when she and Bayley lost the Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Banks reportedly wanted to leave the company over WrestleMania weekend. She remains under contract with the company and had a meeting with Vince McMahon earlier this summer to hash things out. That’s the latest on her status with WWE.

Bayley and Banks won the titles to become the inaugural champions back at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event in February.

Bayley Asks Trish Stratus For A Match Over SmackDown Women’s Title

We noted before how WWE announced the return of the King’s Court segment for this week’s episode of SmackDown Live taking place from Memphis, Tennessee.

The company confirmed that the Hall Of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler will be returning to SmackDown to host this segment in his hometown and he will be interviewing fellow Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus during the show.

Interestingly after the revelation, the current SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley responded to the announcement and expressed interest in defending her title against the WWE Legend.

The Champion replied to WWE’s Official tweet on the matter and she asked the WWE Hall Of Famer if she would like to have a SmackDown Women’s Championship match with her:

It’s worth mentioning here that there have been reports of Stratus wrestling at the upcoming SummerSlam PPV but she is expected to face the former Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at the show.

It’s believed that the upcoming King’s Court segment will kick off their feud in some manner but this tweet from Bayley has made things interesting.

Now it’s possible that the SmackDown Women’s Champion also gets involved in this segment somehow and her rivalry with Flair end up being the foundation for this rumored SummerSlam match between Trish and Charlotte.

Bayley Talks About Dusty Rhodes Helping Her Embrace Her Character

Bayley recently attended the Ace Comic-Con, where she and Charlotte Flair took part in Lilian Garcia’s podcast, Chasing Glory.

During their conversation, Bayley revealed information about how Dusty Rhodes helped to inspire her character in NXT and his overall vision for the brand and its Superstars.

“We try to hide our true self because we don’t think that is good enough for our fans. We’re like, ‘no, they’re not really going to like me,’ but Dusty Rhodes would be like, ‘no, that is what makes you special.’ “

She talked about how Dusty compared her and Charlotte, helping her to embrace the differences that would help her not only stand out, but also connect with the WWE Universe.

“You are athletic; Charlotte is wrestling royalty. Bayley, you’re a fan, make it larger than life. We really are who we are, and he made us confident in ourselves, and that is when everything blew up. That is when NXT blew up, and it was because Dusty Rhodes made us. He believed in all of us, and believed in who we were and who we were afraid to show who we were.”

Bayley is scheduled to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ember Moon. Their match takes place at SummerSlam on August 11th from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.

Bayley Retains SmackDown Women’s Title At WWE Extreme Rules

Bayley is still on top of the women’s division on the WWE SmackDown Live roster.

Bayley successfully retained the SmackDown Women’s Title over Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross in a 2-on-1 Handicap Match at the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in Philadelphia, PA.

This was actually a rematch between Bliss and Bayley. Bliss earned a second chance to challenge Bayley for the title back on the June 25th episode of SmackDown where Nikki Cross faced Bayley in a non-title match.

The situation was if Nikki won then she would guarantee that Bliss would face Bayley for a second time. As seen in the match, Cross got the job done.

Bayley successfully retained the SmackDown Women’s Title over Bliss at the WWE Stomping Grounds pay-per-view event in Tacoma, WA at the Tacoma Dome.

Bayley became the champion when she won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and later that night cashed in the contract on Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. This happened after Flair had beaten Becky Lynch to win the title yet again.

Bayley Shocks Reporter With Details of WWE’s Treatment of Talent

The recent Bayley interview with Kristine Leahy of the FOX Sports 1 (FS1) show Fair Game has the pro wrestling world buzzing after a portion of the clip was deleted from the official Twitter account of the show.

The topic of discussion that caused the controversy was based around the fact that WWE Superstars travel themselves from city-to-city and country-to-country.

The SmackDown Women’s Champion spoke about the “sketchy areas” she often travels through and how she always fears she is going to run out of gas.

Leahy was shocked by the comments, and asked if WWE Superstars even have a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Bayley was uncomfortable with the line of questioning and tried to steer the conversation in a different direction.

Check out a complete transcript of the controversial part of Kristine Leahy’s interview with Bayley from FS1’s Fair Game, as well as the video footage of the portion that ended up getting deleted from the official social media accounts of the program.

Bayley FS1 “Fair Game” Interview Transcript

Bayley: “Oh man. It’s not pretty. It’s haaard. The hardest part is literally the drives afterwards. Like we’ll have four-hour drives, five-hour drives. Sometimes it’s in the sketchiest towns when there’s literally nothing, and you’re afraid you’re gonna run out of gas, which does happen. It’s gotten very close where I have to take my foot off the pedal. The last time it happened–”

Kristine Leahy (interrupting): “You’re driving YOURSELF? You don’t have like a driver?”

Bayley: “No…”

Leahy: “WHAT???”

Bayley: “Yeah, we drive ourselves. We get our own rental cars and we drive ourself.”

Leahy: “You get a RENTAL car?

Bayley: “Yes. How do you expect us to get around to these towns and entertain people?”

Leahy: “I don’t know! You’re superstars. I feel like after the show there’s a driver, and it’s like, ‘Here’s your driver. Get in. You’ve had a hard day of work. We’ll drive you with a full tank of gas.’”

Bayley: “We do it five days a week, so they can’t do that for 30 superstars five days a week.”

Leahy: “I don’t know. I think they make a lot of money off of you guys.”

Bayley: “I think so too, but you know, they take care of us for most things-“

Leahy (interrupting): “Do you want me to negotiate your guys’ new CBA? Do you have CBA?”

Bayley: “No, but–”

Leahy: “Let’s make one. Drivers!”

Bayley: “Things like this, they work around it. It’s fun though, it does become fun. You get to connect with whoever you travel with and there’s memories you won’t have with anyone else. It becomes a real family or sisterhood or brotherhood.”

Eva Marie Praises Bayley, Open To WWE Return

Former WWE Superstar Eva Marie recently noted on social media that she is open to a WWE return. The 34-year-old from California was responding to comments Bayley made on FS1’s “Fair Game.”

Eva Marie said Bayley taught her a lot while both were in NXT and she would love to come back and work a program with her.

“I don’t know if you guys remember Eva Marie, she used to wrestle for NXT also. We had a cool, little storyline going on somewhere in there, and the fans despised her,” Bayley said of Eva Marie on the show.

What Is Eva Marie Up To These Days?

Since leaving WWE in 2017, Eva Marie has landed several film & television roles. She finished in 7th place on a season of Celebrity Big Brother which aired this year. She also made her film debut in Nicolas Cage’s Inconceivable.

Head-to-Head Stats

In 2015, Bayley and Eva Marie were involved in an angle in NXT which saw them work several matches against each other. Bayley beat Eva Marie in 3 straight matches at NXT live events that July. Bayley would then defend the title successfully against Eva Marie in two matches that fall including one which aired on NXT programming on the WWE Network.

Stipulation Added To Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley Match At WWE Extreme Rules

A big change has been made to the Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley match at the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules PPV.

During Monday’s RAW, Bayley took on Sarah Logan where Bayley won her Beat The Clock match in over four minutes while Nikki Cross beat Dana Brooke in 1:50.

As a result, Cross got to choose the stipulation for the scheduled match between Bliss and Bayley. Cross inserted herself into the match, which now makes it a Handicap Match as Bayley will defend the SmackDown Women’s Title against both stars.

WWE presents the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event on Sunday, July 14th, 2019 in Philadelphia, PA at the Wells Fargo Center that will air on the WWE Network.

WWE Had Plans For The Bella Twins To Feud With The IIconics For The Women’s Tag Team Championships After WrestleMania 35

Sasha Banks hasn’t been seen in WWE since she and Bayley lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 35. The women who would walk away victorious that night were Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, The IIconics.

This win surprised the WWE Universe, as many believed that Banks and Bayley were primed for a long run with the championships.

It appears the reason for the change was to set up a feud between The IIconics and The Bella Twins.

The news was revealed on a recent episode of The Bella Twins podcast.

“Bella Twins Were Coming Back In A Big Way”

During the show, Nikki divulged more information about her neck issues. She also spoke about the plans that had been put in place for a Bella return, post-WrestleMania.

“Brie and I, we were gonna come back and fight for the tag titles after WrestleMania and we were gonna go against The IIconics for a few months,” Nikki said.

She explained that “Deep down inside, I kept having this weird feeling that I needed to get an x-ray on my neck because, for a while, I wasn’t feeling okay. Brie knows that in December after Evolution, I just kept telling her that I feel off and my head doesn’t feel right…”

Brie added that they had gear ready, and the two of them were fully prepared for their return to in-ring action—despite only having retired weeks prior.

“We were ready,” Nikki said. “Bella Twins were coming back in a big way.”

They were meant to start the feud on the SmackDown Live after WrestleMania. Nikki Bella’s MRI results would scupper those plans after doctors informed her her neck was fully herniated. She was also told they had discovered a benign cyst on her brain. They warned her that one bad landing could lead to paralysis.

The IIconics haven’t had a notable feud since winning the championships. Though they have been competing against Asuka and Kairi Sane at Live Events, the duo have yet to defend them on a pay-per-view.

A new match has been announced for the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules PPV, which will be WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley defending the title against Alexa Bliss.

The match was set up on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live as Nikki Cross faced Bayley in a non-title match. The situation was if Nikki won then she would guarantee that Bliss would face Bayley for a second time. As seen in the match, Cross got the job done and now this match is official for Extreme Rules.

This is a rematch as Bayley successfully retained the SmackDown Women’s Title over Bliss at the WWE Stomping Grounds pay-per-view event in Tacoma, WA at the Tacoma Dome.

Bayley Calls Out Liv Morgan & Other Smackdown Stars

Following her successful title defense against Alexa Bliss last night, Smackdown women’s champion Bayley told WWE correspondents that she has some history with Liv Morgan she wouldn’t mind re-visiting. Bayley also listed off some other names she would be willing to defend her title against.

“All that matters is that finally, I ended that chapter with Alexa Bliss,” Bayley said. “I rewrote everything that happened a couple of years ago and now I can move on. Move on to the Smackdown roster, move on to building the division and move on to creating and building everything.”

“I want to create, build my legacy to be the best Smackdown women’s champion you’ve ever seen.”

Bayley was then asked about potential next challengers for her title.

“Let’s see, Smackdown, Liv Morgan where you at?” Bayley said. “We have a lot of history with Riott Squad, let’s see what you’ve got all by yourself.”

She would then go on to mention names like Ember Moon and Charlotte as potential challengers as well.

Bayley vs Alexa Bliss

The history Bayley rewrote last night dates back to a rivalry the two had over the RAW women’s title. Bliss defeated Bayley for the RAW women’s title at Payback in 2017. She then defended the title against Bayley successfully at Extreme Rules 2017 in a kendo stick on a pole match.

Bliss holds the advantage in the head-to-head stats between the two on the main roster, having won 3 matches to Bayley’s 2. In NXT, however, Bayley was a perfect 3-0 against Bliss.

Bayley Retains SmackDown Women’s Title At WWE Stomping Grounds

Bayley is still on top of the women’s division on the WWE SmackDown Live roster.

Bayley successfully retained the SmackDown Women’s Title over Alexa Bliss at the WWE Stomping Grounds pay-per-view event in Tacoma, WA at the Tacoma Dome.

Bliss earned this title match opportunity when she beat Charlotte Flair and Carmella in a triple threat match on the June 4th episode of SmackDown Live. Although Bliss is technically a RAW star, she appeared on this show and became the rightful title contender via the wild card rule.

Bayley became the champion when she won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and later that night cashed in the contract on Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. This happened after Flair had beaten Becky Lynch to win the title yet again.

It turns out that Bayley and Bliss have some history as Bliss beat Bayley to win the RAW Women’s Championship at the 2017 Payback pay-per-view event. As a result, it marked the fact that Bliss became the first woman to hold both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Titles.

Title Match Announced For WWE Stomping Grounds

The first title match has been announced for the upcoming WWE Stomping Grounds PPV. WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley will make her next title defense against Alexa Bliss.

This match was booked on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live when Bliss beat Carmella and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat match to become the new #1 contender for the title. Despite there still being a brand split and Bliss being a RAW star, due to the Wild Card Rule, Bliss is allowed to challenge for the SmackDown title.

WWE presents the Stomping Grounds pay-per-view event on Sunday, June 23 at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA that will air on the WWE Network. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming weeks.

WWE has replaced the previously scheduled Backlash pay-per-view event that was supposed to take place on June 16th with this show. The reason for the schedule changes is due to the Saudi Arabia show being moved from early May to June 7th. Here is the updated card:

WWE Hall Of Famer Offers High Praise To Bayley

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently co-hosted SiriusXM’s Busted Open radio which is where he offered some high praise to newly crowned WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.

“I know exactly what she can do… be a great champion. That’s exactly what she can do.”

Bayley cashed in the MITB contract that she had won earlier in the night at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view after Charlotte Flair beat Becky Lynch to win the SmackDown Title. This led to Bayley then beating “The Queen” to become the champion.

Henry brought up having a conversation with Bayley about not being a placeholder or teaching other stars but rather going out and being a champion to own her spot.

Henry mentioned how Bayley showed some edge by cashing in of the Money In The Bank case as fans haven’t seen that from her before and how great it was.

“Bayley didn’t have the aggressiveness that she showed, when she handed that briefcase over, you freeze frame her face, she was about that life, boss.”

Henry added that she was ready to get it and that was a different Bayley then what fans have seen in years past.

Sasha Banks Reacts To Bayley’s Money In The Bank Win

The Money In The Bank PPV received mix reaction from fans with most of the PPV being praised by the WWE Universe with the exception of the finish of the show.

The segments which were highly praised included Bayley’s Money In The Bank Win and her successful cash in on Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

And it appears that Bayley’s former partner Sasha Banks liked this booking too and the former Women’s Champion reacted to it via the following tweet after the event:

The New SmackDown Women’s Champion also responded and replying to the tweet from Banks, the former NXT Star said that she is her heart:

For those who don’t know, Bayley won the Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match while Charlotte was able to defeat Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Championship during Money In The Bank.

However, Flair didn’t stop after winning the title and she along with Lacey Evans unleashed a post-match beat down on the Man after the bout.

This provoked Bayley to come out to help Lynch clear the ring and seizing the opportunity, she cashed in her Money In The Bank contract on Charlotte.

There has been no recent updates on Sasha Banks’ situation and currently, it’s hard to say when or if Banks will return to the WWE Programming in future.

Bayley Wins SmackDown Women’s Title At WWE Money In The Bank

Bayley is on top of the women’s division on the blue brand of WWE and “The Man” is holding one less title.

The reign as WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion for Becky Lynch has ended as she lost the strap to Charlotte Flair at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view event in Hartford, CT. The finish of the match saw Lynch toss her to the floor and they did a near count out spot. Lacey Evans ran back down to the ring and punched Lynch. Flair with a big boot for the win.

Post-match, Flair and Evans beat down Lynch until Bayley ran down to the ring to make the save. Bayley cashed in the MITB contract where she would beat Flair. Bayley is now the SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Back on the April 23rd episode of SmackDown Live, Flair beat Bayley to become the new #1 contender for the SmackDown Women’s Title. As a result, Flair earned the right to challenge Lynch for the title at this show.

Lynch has dethroned Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair when she beat the women in a Triple Threat Match to win the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Titles at WWE WrestleMania 35, which ended up serving as the main event. This marked history as it was the first time that women have headlined the biggest event of the year for the company.

Going forward, it will be interesting to see which title that Lynch chases after.
