Becky Lynch recently told Bayley she’d love to “slap her head off” on Twitter. She made the comments after having challenged Sasha Banks to a fight earlier.
The original post in the thread was Becky Lynch issuing a challenge to Sasha Banks. Lynch posted the comments not long after news and rumors regarding Banks and Bayley’s WWE status began to circulate this week.
Sasha Banks & Bayley
The Boss N Hug Connection lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 35 to the Iiconics. On Raw the following night, Bayley lost a single’s match to the returning Alexa Bliss. Banks was not on the show.
Banks’ situation was addressed in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
“According to one person high up, Banks tried to quit over the weekend, as she felt blindsided when finding out at the last minute that they were taking the tag team titles from her and Bayley.”
On WWE programming this week, Becky Lynch took part in two different segments with Lacey Evans, one on RAW and another on Smackdown. While Lacey Evans has yet to actually wrestle on RAW or Smackdown, she has been wrestling on WWE live events.
In recent weeks, Evans has been teaming with Alexa Bliss in matches against Natalya and Nikki Cross on live events.
Former Women’s Champion Sasha Banks has been in the news in the past few days after she missed a couple of scheduled appearances and it was reported that she has tried to quit the company over creative frustration.
The Women’s Champion Becky Lynch seemingly reacted to these reports recently when she made the following tweet and called out the Boss for a fight:
The latest update on Sasha Banks’ situation reveals that WWE Officials have given her time to think her decision over and we’re waiting for Banks to comment on the matter.
Roman Reigns Confirmed For Next Raw
While he was victories in his first singles match since his
return against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania, Roman Reigns was kept off TV for
this week’s episode of Raw.
Though now the company has confirmed via a press release that the Big Dog will return to WWE programming next week, for the Raw episode which will also be the first part of the Superstar Shakeup.
While WWE is teasing a number of possible rivalries for the former Universal Champion, reports suggest that Reigns will be competing against Baron Corbin in his first singles feud since his comeback.
Becky Lynch is riding high after capturing the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships at WrestleMania. The Irish grappler has reached the top of the mountain, but is a marked woman with foes from both brands looking to dethrone her.
Lynch recently spoke with Middle East publication The National about her big night at WrestleMania and what she sees awaiting her in the months ahead.
“Now’s going to be the hardest part because not only do I have one target on my back, I have two targets on my back,” she said. “So everybody wants a piece of me, everybody’s going to want to be knocking me down. Plus, on Sunday I just showed what was possible.”
She continued, “I showed the entire women’s division that anything’s possible. That you can go from the bottom of the card to the top of the card in a year. So everybody’s going to be champing at the bit, but they’ll find out it’s not as easy as it looks.”
Based on what we saw on WWE television post-WrestleMania, it appears Lynch’s first feud will be against main roster newcomer Lacey Evans.
Lynch gloated about toppling Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania, joking that she ran Rousey straight out of WWE. She also took a dig at Rousey suffering a badly broken hand at WrestleMania. When asked how she feels about “Ronnie” the “little weirdo,” Lynch didn’t hold back.
“Oh yeah, slap the head off her and chase her out of the company,” she said of Rousey. “It was great. It was great. She talked about how my face was so easily breakable and then broke her hand on my face.”
Becky Lynch has dubbed herself “The Man,” a moniker that has been embraced by men, women and children alike. Although “The Man” is inherently a masculine descriptor, Lynch explains that it is not about gender, but instead about being the best you can be.
“It’s amazing,” said Lynch. “It’s amazing because the message of that is that it doesn’t matter who you are or what you are. It’s about being the top dog of whatever it is that you want to do.”
WWE’s current champ-champ, Becky Lynch, recently spoke with Sports Illustrated. She discussed her ambitions going forward now that she is both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion and what her thoughts are regarding her rival, Ronda Rousey.
Her momentous victory on Sunday wasn’t without some controversy. Lynch managed to secure a pinfall onto Rousey for the win. The only problem? Ronda’s shoulders were not securely against the mat for the entire three count. Regardless, only one woman was standing tall at the end of the night with both championships in her possession.
It’s a position that Becky has been eager to attain. One she feels she was made for, unlike, in her mind, Ronda Rousey.
“Only four months after having a part-time schedule, after making her debut at WrestleMania [34]—having been on the cover of everything, just handed everything, she was crying in her kitchen about how she couldn’t make her husband breakfast,” said Lynch. “She couldn’t hack our schedule. Yet we do this every single night, 52 weeks a year, yet she couldn’t handle it for four months.”
Aware of her popularity amongst the WWE Universe, Lynch shares her approach towards her job—in particular, her promo opportunities.
“I approach this as a political campaign,” explained Lynch. “Any time I’ve the opportunity to get my voice out there, get myself heard and my message across, I use it. I want to make sure I do the people proud.”
With her next challenger appearing to be former NXT Superstar Lacey Evans, who has interrupted and attacked the champion multiple times since her win on Sunday, Becky admits that “This is when the hard work starts,” said Lynch. “I’ve got two championships to make.”
In the build-up to the main event of WrestleMania 35, Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, and Charlotte Flair talked a ton of trash talk that led to them being the first women to headline the biggest event of the year for WWE.
Lynch beat Rousey and Flair to win the WWE RAW and SmackDown Women’s Titles at WrestleMania 35 in a Winner Take All Match. Just hours after the biggest win thus far in her WWE career, she appeared on WFAN Sports Radio’s “Boomer and Gio” show, alongside WWE Champion Kofi Kingston to talk about the big win.
During the discussion, Lynch would reveal what she told Rousey’s mother who was in attendance after the contest.
“She was a little upset about all the things I said about her. And I was like, ‘Your daughter had it coming. Now get her out of here!”
Lynch would continue by stating that the former UFC star’s tourist visa in WWE has expired as she sees it as her sport.
“This is my sport,” Lynch said. “This is my turf. This is my territory. Ronnie’s a tourist in my industry. She’s a tourist in my industry. And now her tourist visa has expired. She can get out of here.”
Becky Lynch is the new WWE RAW and Smackdown women’s champion. The Champ Champ will bring both titles to RAW tonight inside Barclay’s Center. The “RAW after Mania” tonight promises to create new storylines where old ones have been concluded.
WWE RAW 4/8 Preview
In addition to Becky Lynch, several other newly crowned champions will be on tonight’s show. Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Zach Ryder, & Curt Hawkins all have new championships as a result of their matches at WrestleMania and all will be on RAW tonight.
Becky Lynch Brings Both Belts To WWE RAW
Becky Lynch will bring both belts to RAW tonight. While WWE is giving little away as to what Becky will be doing on the show tonight, there will likely be some type of ceremony to honor her accomplishment.
Becky’s segment tonight raises other questions, however. For instance, will either Charlotte Flair or Ronda Rousey be on-hand? Or will Flair stick to Smackdown and Rousey ride off to the sunset? There are still a lot of unanswered questions at the top of WWE’s women’s divisions and we might get some answers tonight.
Seth Rollins Returns To RAW
Seth Rollins is the new Universal champion. He slew the beast at WrestleMania and now that beast has flown home and reportedly has more interest in Daniel Cormier’s title belt than the one Rollins now holds.
Rollins has promised to be the opposite kind of champion Brock was. The Architect plans to be a fighting champion which could mean he puts the title on the line tonight.
Drew McIntyre Not Expected To Go Away Quietly
Despite losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania on Sunday, Drew McIntyre is not expected to drop his rivalry with the Big Dog. McIntyre controlled much of his match against Reigns and sources are saying he plans on pursuing another match with the former Universal champion. We’ll likely find out more about this tonight.
Finn Balor’s 2nd Intercontinental Championship Reign Begins Tonight
Much like with Rollins, Balor says he plans to be a fighting champion. To that end, we could even see Balor put the title on the line tonight.
Balor won the Intercontinental championship by defeating Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania. He did so, however, as his demon gimmick. Balor could likely have to prove he can defend the title without the demon sooner rather than later, however.
The Streak Is Broken
For the first time in 5 years, the RAW after Mania will also feature the fall-out from a long streak ending. Instead of the Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak coming to an end at WM30, however, it’s Curt Hawkins long losing streak coming to an end at WM35.
Hawkins and Ryder pulled off the upset over the Revival last night. Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder will likely be looking for a rematch soon, however, so time will tell how long the new champs can keep their current winning streak alive.
Last night’s double championship victory by Becky Lynch was not without controversy. There are reports this morning that the finish of last night’s main event did not go entirely as expected.
Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer is saying the planned finish of the match was Lynch pinning Rousey but Rousey’s shoulders coming up during the pin was not planned. He noted the planned finish was once to be a submission win for Lynch but it was later changed to a pinfall.
“At one point, the finish was going to be a submission finish,” Meltzer said on the WM35 main event. “There were a lot of people who were for it and a lot of people who were against it. In the end, the idea was a pinfall and not a submission.”
He would continue to say that Rousey’s shoulders coming up was accidental.
“She wasn’t supposed to get the shoulders up,” he continued. “It just happened.”
Ronda Rousey Suffers Broken Hand
Rousey is also reported to have suffered a broken hand.
“I have some news,” Dave Meltzer said. “Ronda has a broken hand, a severely broken hand. She just was diagnosed with it.”
Some users on Twitter feel Rousey has had that hand wrapped for a few weeks now:
Future Plans For Ronda Rousey
According to comments made last night on Wrestling Observer Radio, there is no timetable for Rousey’s return to WWE.
“This was scheduled to be her last match,” Meltzer continued. “Will she come back at some point? Obviously, that’s up to her.”
WWE is moving forward assuming Rousey won’t be involved for some time, however.
“There is no timetable for Ronda Rousey at this point.”
Conor McGregor enjoyed Sunday night’s WWE WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view.
The former 2-division UFC champion complimented his fellow countrywoman Becky Lynch, who captured the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships in the main event. In doing so, she joined his elusive ‘Champ Champ’ club.
McGregor was impressed by the performances of all three women. He also teased interest in accepting Stephanie McMahon’s invitation to step into a WWE ring.
A follower of Conor’s then posted a photo of Chris Jericho with the Undisputed Championship titles from 2001 in response to Conor saying Becky is the first “champ champ”. Conor issued a response, which you can see below. He explains the unofficial rules for “Champ Champ” status and shows off his knowledge of wrestling history.
Stephanie McMahon On Possibly Signing Conor McGregor
Stephanie McMahon said yesterday that Conor McGregor is a huge personality when asked about possibly signing the MMA fighter someday. McMahon said the company is always looking for big personalities who can connect with their audience.
“I’d love to have Gronk in the ring,” Stephanie said to TMZ Sports. “Conor McGregor – huge personality. There’s a number of different women that I’ve had my eye on as well. It’s really about bringing in the biggest personalities with the best athletic ability. Whoever can entertain and connect to our audience.”
Becky Lynch has dethroned Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair. As a result, she is the new WWE RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion.
She snapped Rousey’s winning streak as she beat the former champion and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat match at WWE WrestleMania 35, which ended up serving as the main event in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium on the WWE Network.
This marked history as it was the first time that women have headlined the biggest event of event of the year for the company.
Rousey’s in-ring debut took place at WrestleMania 34 in a mixed tag team match with Kurt Angle as her partner, against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. Since then, she has been pushed as WWE top star in the RAW Women’s Division and one of the biggest talents that the company has under contract.
Lynch earned this title opportunity by scoring a win over Flair at the WWE Fastlane pay-per-view event. It appears that Lynch and Flair will continue their feuding going forward as Rousey’s status is up in the air.
It’s been reported that Rousey is likely finished with WWE as a regular full-time star at this show but will remain with the company going forward as an ambassador due to her still having years left on her current deal. It’s always possible that she makes a return for another match down the road.
Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, who is set to share the ring alongside WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in a winner take all match at WrestleMania 35, continues to make the media rounds.
Lynch recently spoke with Sports Illustrated to promote WrestleMania 35. During the interview, Lynch talked about how Rousey does not deserve to be a champion in this business because she is not mentally equipped to do so.
“Ronda Rousey has had that title for almost a year, but no one started talking about the title ‘til ‘The Man’ came around,” said Lynch, who wrestles Rousey, the Raw women’s champion, and SmackDown champ Charlotte Flair in a winner-take-all match this Sunday at WrestleMania 35. “Ronda Rousey does not deserve to be a champion in this business. Her body is made of titanium, but her mind is not equipped for it.”
Rousey has been critical of pro wrestling in the build to this match at WrestleMania. For months now, the three female stars have been trading words to build hype for the historic contest.
Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will be cheering on Seth Rollins when he challenges Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at WrestleMania 35.
Lynch, who is set to share the ring alongside WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair in the headliner of this show, spoke with GQ to promote the event.
This is where Lynch made it known that she thinks Rollins needs to beat Lesnar for the future of WWE.
“For the future of the business, Seth Rollins needs to take that championship off of Brock Lesnar. It needs to be defended on shows. It’s not fair that it’s being held hostage. If Seth Rollins is the champion, then we’re going to see that, because that man works his a** off and delivers every single time. He deserves to be the champion and the people deserve to have him as champion.”
Lynch would bring up Rousey while talking with Lesnar about being champions on a part-time schedule and handed everything because they have a name.
“They’re champions who don’t show any respect for the business and don’t care about the future of it. That’s the difference between Seth and myself and Brock and Ronda: Seth and I care. We love this industry, we love this business.”
Becky Lynch is set to perform in the main event of WrestleMania 35 tomorrow night. Her rise to the top of the industry did not come without its fair share of obstacles, however. Lynch recently spoke to Fanbyte and said she used to try not to outshine anyone she was working with.
Lynch says that when the 4-Horsewomen were having matches in NXT, she was hesitant to “outshine” any of her opponents.
“With the Four Horsewomen when we started to break out, everybody wanted to see better from the other, instead of being competitive, you know, everyone wanted to step up their game,” Lynch says. “Everybody wanted to have the best match, everybody wanted to have the best reactions, and that helps everybody step up because nobody wants to be left behind. I think for a long time I used to dumb myself down because I didn’t want to outshine anyone or make anybody feel uncomfortable. And then once I stopped doing that and was like, no, you wanna get on my level, come meet me up here, I think it sparked a bit of a fire in everyone.”
Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch was back at it again by talking about WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. The two stars have been trading words not only on television but on social media as well over the last few months.
They will share the ring alongside WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35 when they take part in a triple threat winner takes all match in the headliner of this show.
While doing a recent interview with TMZ, Lynch claims that Rousey will retire from in-ring action under the WWE banner if she loses at WrestleMania. There have been rumors that Rousey may take time off from competition after this show.
According to Lynch, her belief about Rousey walking away from the pro wrestling business is due to the way that she handled the end of her pro-MMA career and walked away from the sport after suffering two straight losses.
“She won’t be able to hack it,” Becky said of Ronda on TMZ Live. “She won’t be able to take it. She won’t be able to look defeat in the face and say I can come back from this.”
“When Rhonda feels untouchable, that’s when she gets put to sleep. That’s when she gets knocked out.” And, we all know what happens to Rhonda when that happens, she goes and she cries under her blankey for a year or whatever. The only thing she knows how to do is either be invincible or be gone.”
This Sunday sees a historic WWE moment take place as Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey main event WrestleMania 35. The women will compete in what has been dubbed a ‘Winner Take All’ matchup, with both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships on the line.
Speaking with The Orlando Sentinel, “The Man” Becky Lynch reflected on being told that she would be making history, describing her emotional reaction as “waves of gratitude and relief.”
“I just felt waves of gratitude and relief,” Lynch said. “We really did it. We got the main event. There were tears, lots of tears just streaming down my face. Everything I worked my entire life for was coming to fruition.”
“There Is Your Comeback Story. There’s The Message”
When the Sentinel juxtaposed her current position within the company to her NXT TV debut in 2014, she would remark that this comparison acts as a perfect comeback story.
Though it may be hard to believe now, back when Lynch debuted she would dance an Irish jig, playing heavily into her roots and background in an uninspired gimmick hoisted onto her by WWE.
“Oh my God. There is your comeback story. There’s the message,” she said. “If I can debut that way and get to the main event of WrestleMania, anything is possible, for anybody.”
Addressing potential frustrations in the past, she adds that she loves “proving people wrong, so I use that frustration as rocket fuel.”
This Sunday sees the culmination of her personal journey so far. One that has taken her to the top of WrestleMania. It’s another opportunity for her to prove her doubters wrong, as she stands poised to win either belt—that is if she’s able to pin or submit Charlotte Flair or Ronda Rousey.
Things escalated quickly last night between the 3 competitors set to main event WrestleMania Sunday.
In what is being hailed as one of the best WWE segments in ages, police officers were hit, car windows were smashed, and all 3 Superstars were put in handcuffs and arrested.
Rousey is the first of the 3 to comment on what happened last night. The RAW Women’s Champion wasted little time publishing her mug shot.
As of this writing, neither Becky nor Charlotte have posted on social media following their arrests during RAW.
Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair Melee
Last night’s segment featuring Rousey, Lynch, and Flair is being praised by several wrestling personalities. The 3 teamed together against the Riott Squad and were not allowed to betray their partners until the match was over or else lose their spot in Sunday’s main event.
After she made Liv Morgan tap to an armbar, Rousey promptly punched Charlotte Flair in the face as soon as the bell rang to end the match. Security and police were called in to separate them but that proved to be a difficult task.
Big E made a request of the media when covering these events:
Charlotte Flair re-Tweeted this clip of her kneeing a handcuffed Ronda Rousey while she was in the back of police car:
The last Tweet ever posted by Dusty Rhodes was a compliment of Becky Lynch. On June 7th, 2015, the American Dream Tweeted out the following:
We lost Dusty just 4 days later. At the time, the 4 Horsewomen of NXT were starting to come into their own. Sasha Banks was NXT Women’s champion and had just defeated Lynch in a title match at Takeover: Unstoppable the month prior to Dusty’s passing.
Earlier today, Becky Lynch responded to the Tweet, noting that at WrestleMania she has the opportunity to prove just how right about her Dusty was.
Cody Rhodes, son of the late Dusty Rhodes, gave Becky Lynch is stamp of approval.
Becky Lynch in NXT
While Lynch had Dusty Rhodes pulling for her while in WWE developmental, it appears she had her fair share of detractors as well. Not long after learning her match would headline WrestleMania this year, Lynch noted that some were pushing for her to be released when she was still in developmental.
“I got a couple of text messages this week from people here at work and NXT or worked in the office side of things. (They said) I don’t know if you knew this, but there are some people that wanted to fire you when you were in NXT. Congratulations on the main event.”
Turns out that the WWE Universe may have to wait even longer for the rumored faction feud between WWE’s Four Horsewomen and Ronda Rousey’s MMA Horsewomen.
Despite recent reports speculating that WWE is aiming to close WrestleMania 35 with a feel-good moment for the WWE Four Horsewomen, this may no longer be the case.
Writing in a post on the Wrestling Observer Forum, Dave Meltzer divulged that this is apparently no longer the current plan for the end of ‘Mania.
“This is not happening,” he said, “well at least as not happening can be with Vince changing his mind every hour. It makes no sense with the direction they are going.”
Close The Show
With Charlotte Flair now holding the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, the rumor speculated that Becky Lynch would defeat her rival, Ronda Rousey, for the RAW Women’s Championship.
Lynch and Flair, now each holding gold, would then be joined by their former Horsewomen stablemates and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Bayley and Sasha Banks. That is, of course, if they successfully defend them in their matchup.
In case you didn’t know, the women were colloquially known as the Four Horsewomen during their time in NXT. Since that time, Ronda Rousey and a number of her MMA friends have joined WWE’s roster. Prior to that, however, they had also adopted the Four Horsewomen name.
Both took the name in honor of legendary wrestling stable, the Four Horsemen.
What do you think? Are we on the way to a feel-good moment? With Ronda’s Horsewomen stablemates still in NXT, Is a clash between the two still a long way off?
Charlotte Flair’s shocking victory over Asuka is still fresh and while there is no solid news on the reason behind it, people have been speculating about it.
One of the top speculations is that the company is planning
to unify both the Women’s titles and the triple threat match at WrestleMania
will be winner takes all bout.
During a recent interview with CBS Local, ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch was asked about a scenario where one woman walks out with both the titles and Lynch said that if anyone’s going to do that, it should be her:
“If anyone’s going to do that, that should be me. That
will be me. That sounds spectacular. And I would like to be able to defend both
of them. Be the first-ever women’s champ champ. I think that sounds pretty
freakin’ fantastic.”
The former Champion was also asked about being the main event and closing the show in a WrestleMania with such a stacked card.
Answering it, The former NXT Star also acknowledged that this card featuring matches like Kurt Angle’s farewell bout, Batista vs Triple H and Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar is absolutely stacked to the brim.
Though continuing on the topic, the SmackDown Star said that
she has been obsessing about this her entire life and she believes that this
blow off is perfect.
Apart from this, Becky Lynch also revealed that she hasn’t heard about a special WrestleMania entrance for her and discussed SmackDown being labelled as the B Show.
Ronda Rousey has become known for frequently bending, if not flat out breaking, the fourth wall on her personal YouTube show, Ronda On The Road.
This weeks episode of the show follows her journey to this week’s Monday Night RAW in Boston, Massachusetts. During the video, Ronda would speak candidly on her match at WrestleMania. She would admit she thinks Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair wouldn’t be enough to main event the show. She went on toe say they “need” her in the match to elevate their feud. Their triple threat will see womenclosing the show for the first time in WWE history.
“It’s really cool to see people so p****d off, that thought I would fail miserably,” Rousey said. “And see that within one year, I’m in the main event of WrestleMania. And, you know what? I could promise you that Charlotte vs. Becky 9000 would not have made the main event of WrestleMania. They need me and I made it happen.”
Under Pressure
The pressure of main eventing WrestleMania on April 7th isn’t lost on the champion. She shares that “Going into this WrestleMania, I think it’s just… we just need to make sure the event is a huge success.”
She continues, “It needs to do extremely well views, I mean, it needs to do extremely well on pay-per-view buys. I want it to be the best ever because we need the women headlining WrestleMania to not be an isolated event. We need it to be, like, proof that this works and if we don’t do that, everything that we’ve done is for nothing, and we’re going to take so many years and steps back. So, there’s just so much depending on the success of this event. It really reminds me of me and [Liz] Carmouche for UFC. Everything depended on that event [UFC 157] being a success. The whole future of women in that sport, and I think the future of the women in this industry depends on the success of WrestleMania 35.”
Ronda Rousey defends her RAW Women’s Championship against SmackDown Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair, and “The Man” Becky Lynch in a triple-threat at WrestleMania 35. The history-making matchup goes down on April 7th from MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
This week’s episode of SmackDown saw a shocking title change as Charlotte Flair defeated Asuka to become an 8 time Women’s Champion in WWE.
After the show, both Charlotte and the former Champion Asuka, as well as ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch reacted to this surprising turn of event in their own way.
The Japanese star was the first to react, and commenting on the end of her short reign with the Blue Brand’s title, the former NXT Champion simply wrote ‘over’:
For Becky Lynch, this was another opportunity to take some shots at her arch rival, and she pointed out how Flair did nothing to earn this title opportunity in the following tweet:
Finally, the new champion herself posted a photo of her with the Women’s title and she also praised Asuka for being the most talented women she has shared a ring with:
Charlotte was also interviewed backstage by Kayla Braxton
where the SmackDown Star talked about her surprising victory during the show.
She took her own shot at Lynch saying that the one talking the loudest is also the one who will be walking into WrestleMania without a title:
There are speculations about WWE unifying both the Women’s
Championships after this week’s SmackDown but nothing has been confirmed so
far. We’ll keep you posted if any such news comes.
It looks like WWE wants to keep “The Man” around for a long time. Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that the company has offered Lynch a new multi-year contract that includes a pay raise. Lynch is expected to sign the new deal fairly soon.
This comes after it was announced earlier today (Mon. March 25, 2019) that Lynch will be part of a historic WrestleMania main event. Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will all be part of the first-ever women’s match to main event a WrestleMania pay-per-view (PPV). The highly-anticipated bout takes place at WrestleMania 35 next month.
Becky Lynch has been part of WWE since 2013, when she joined the company’s NXT developmental brand. She made here main roster debut in July 2015.
Lynch has become, arguably, WWE’s biggest star over the past year. She really got over with fans when she attacked Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam. Lynch followed-up with a SmackDown Live Women’s Title win at Hell In A Cell. Also, Lynch won January’s Women’s Royal Rumble match to punch her ticket to WrestleMania.
Now, she hopes to win the first-ever women’s match to main event a WrestleMania show by toppling both Flair and Rousey. WrestleMania 35 goes down from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday, April 7, 2019.
What do you think about WWE offering Lynch a new deal?
WWE confirmed the big news on Monday morning when they announced that women will main event WrestleMania 35, which is the first time ever that women will headline a WrestleMania event.
WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair will be the featured match. Several WWE stars took to social media to give their reaction to the announcement made by the company including Rousey, Lynch, and Flair.
Lynch earned this title opportunity by scoring a win over Flair at the WWE Fastlane pay-per-view event. You can check out the reactions here:
In the press release that was sent out to the media about the announcement, it was touted that “At WrestleMania 32 in 2016, WWE re-branded the Divas Division the Women’s Division and unveiled a new Women’s Championship title. Since that time, the women’s evolution has placed a greater spotlight on WWE’s female performers, including more prominent storylines and deeper character development that showcases their athleticism, charisma and star power. Last October, WWE held its first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view event, Evolution, in front of a sold-crowd and millions more watching on WWE Network.”
WWE presents the WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view event on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium that will air on the WWE Network.
Becky Lynch Taunts Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey
2019 WWE Women’s Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch continues to taunt Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey ahead of WrestleMania. Lynch and Flair take on Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship in what’s believed to be the main event of WrestleMania 35.
Recently, Flair posted a photo of herself on Twitter. Lynch responded by taking a shot at “The Queen”:
Rousey also addressed her situation on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. She and her husband, UFC heavyweight Travis Browne, took on several of WWE’s security team members. Rousey said she doesn’t care how much she’s fined by the company for her actions.
Lynch responded by offering to pay Rousey’s fine with her new “shampoo money”:
Speaking of Lynch, her new Funko Pop figure is the number one selling item on Amazon’s Toys and Games section. Check it out here:
Mark Henry Launches Website
WWE Hall Of Famer Mark Henry has just launched his own website, which you can find at TheMarkHenry.com. The site offers a brief synopsis of “The World’s Strongest Man’s” athletic career, and also includes tour dates in which you can meet Henry and watch Monday Night RAW with him.
Here’s a description of of the events from Henry’s website:
“The World’s Strongest Man, Mark Henry is going on tour. On select Monday nights, meet Mark Henry in person at hospitality locations across the country. Come say hello, hang out, eat, drink and join Mark to watch and discuss the hottest action in professional wrestling all on multiple big screen televisions. It’s 3+ hours of non-stop wrestling action, talk and fun.”
Becky Lynch was once at risk of being cut by WWE even before she debuted on NXT television. She had been given an Irish-jig dancing gimmick and lost 12 matches on NXT house shows to start her career.
Lynch then defeated Summer Rae in the summer of 2014 in her NXT TV debut. Lynch took to Twitter recently to comment on her debut match and her position in the company at the time.
In November, Lynch addressed her former gimmick on a media call.
“Let us never talk about that again. You know what, you can’t get worse than that,” Lynch said regarding the gimmick. “Sometimes you’ve just gotta fricking make a fool out of yourself and then you become little bit untouchable. So, I tell ya, it’s gonna make one hell of a biography one day, I hope. That was terrible, and we all know it was terrible. Let nobody else say anything different.”
Lynch would win the inaugural Smackdown women’s championship two years later. She is now a 2x former holder of the title, a Royal Rumble winner, and was awarded the Woman of the Year award by Pro Wrestling Illustrated for 2018. Lynch will face Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair for the RAW women’s championship at WrestleMania 35.

WWE’s YouTube channel has released a clip of former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch reenacting the Austin: 316 promo to celebrate today, March 16th.
Both fans and WWE stars have been posting things about the speech on social media through the day.
This speech made famous by WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin at the King of the Ring pay-per-view event after being Jake “The Snake” Roberts. It’s truly an iconic promo.
Since she turned heel last year, Lynch has transformed her character to be one of the biggest stars in the company and not just in the women’s division.
Part of that success is due to the way that WWE has been booking her as of late. Many fans think that she is as close as a star can be to Austin.
WWE has already announced that Lynch is set Charlotte Flair and WWE Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey for the title at WrestleMania 35 on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium.
Although not confirmed, there’s speculation that this contest could end up taking place in the likely main event. If so, this would mark history as there have never been women to headline a WrestleMania in the past.
