Former WWE RAW Women’s Champion Nia Jax has reflected on an incident where she injured Becky Lynch.
She did so while she was recently interviewed by the Sporting News. This was when Jax punched Lynch back in November on RAW during an invasion angle where she would cause Lynch to suffer from a broken nose and concussion.
This led to Lynch being pulled from her champion vs. champion match against Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series.
“Obviously, we learned that I can’t throw punches (laughs). I’m just kidding. From that experience, there’s always an opportunity whether it’s good or bad. If somebody gets hit, that happens in a contact sport.
It happens, so you just have to be able to look at the positives and take it and run with it. I just realized that everything is an opportunity no matter what happens.”
Jax continued by stating that people might freak out like they did on her and that’s ok due to her now being one of the top heels in this company. She added that it’s her job to be a heel and take everything as an opportunity.
Jax is slated to team up with Tamina to challenge Bayley and Sasha Banks for the WWE Tag Team Titles at Sunday’s Fastlane pay-per-view event.
As the Road To Wrestlemania continues, it’s looking more and more like a Triple Threat match will, in fact, determine who will be the RAW Women’s Champion. Most fans preferred to see a singles contest between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch. However, WWE has decided to insert Charlotte Flair into the mix.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that injury risk played a factor in WWE’s decision. These days, WWE stars are getting hurt a lot more frequently. One reason WWE was motivated to book a Triple Threat was because, if one woman became injured, they could still make a singles match. The report notes that this is not a major reason for the decision, but it was one reason.
Currently, the match only officially includes Rousey and Flair at WrestleMania. However, on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, WWE set the scene for how Lynch will be added to the match. If she defeats Flair in singles competition at Fastlane this weekend (Sun. March 10, 2019), “The Irish Lass Kicker” will be WrestleMania-bound. Lynch has been dealing with a storyline injury for the past few weeks on WWE TV.
RAW ended with the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble winner taking a vicious beating from the RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. Her condition will likely be worsened for her match with Flair, so that should be a key storyline Sunday night. The Triple Threat match between Flair, Rousey, and Lynch is expected to be the first-ever women’s match to headline a WrestleMania card.
What do you think about the Triple Threat match between Lynch, Rousey, and Flair?
Becky Lynch has reacted to the attack that she received from WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey during Monday’s episode of the flagship show of the company.
This came after Lynch had signed a contract with Charlotte Flair for a match at the Fastlane PPV event. This match has a stipulation on the line as it was announced that If Lynch wins at Fastlane then she’ll be added to the RAW Women’s Title Match between Rousey and Flair at WrestleMania 35. However, if she loses then she’s done.
Lynch took to her official Twitter account to give her reaction by writing the following:
WWE NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa was originally advertised to make an appearance at Chaotic Wrestling’s “Cold Fury 18” event. This show goes down on March 15th in Haverhill, Massachusetts.
However, Ciampa has been pulled from the show. It’s been reported that he’s dealing with an injury, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. As a result, the promotion had to find a replacement for him.
Thus, one-half of the current NXT Tag Team Champions Hanson of the War Raiders will appear at this show. They made the announcement with the following post shared on their official Twitter account:
WWE has announced that Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch in a singles match will take place at the Fastlane PPV.
Stephanie McMahon announced in a backstage segment on Monday’s RAW episode that all charges against Becky Lynch have been dropped and that her 60-day suspension has been lifted. If Lynch wins at Fastlane then she’ll be added to the RAW Women’s Title Match between Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35. However, if she loses then she’s done. For weeks now, the belief is that Flair vs. Lynch vs. Rousey for the title will take place at WrestleMania 35.
WWE presents the Fastlane pay-per-view event on March 10, 2019 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio that will air on the WWE Network. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming days. Here is the updated card:
Updated WWE Fastlane Card
WWE Champion Daniel Bryan vs. Kevin Owens
WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. Shane McMahon & The Miz
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. Nia Jax & Tamina
WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka vs. Mandy Rose
Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch
What are your thoughts on this match being added to the card? Sound off in the comment section.
Becky Lynch definitely knows how to press Ronda Rousey’s buttons.
The latest example of Lynch’s expertise in taking subtle shots at Rousey ahead of their expected match at WrestleMania took place this past weekend at UFC 235 in Las Vegas.
Lynch, who has attended several UFC cards in the past, enjoyed this one from the cozy confines of a private box at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas where she watched the fights alongside fellow WWE superstars Seth Rollins and Renee Young.
While it was a night away from the ring for Lynch, she didn’t shy away from taking another shot at Rousey by wearing a shirt that night that read ‘I Own Ronnie’.
Lynch has been taking shots at ‘Ronnie’ on social media for the past few weeks with the anticipation for their expected match ratcheting up with every exchange.
Now Lynch has gone into the house that Rousey used to rule in UFC and she still managed to take a dig at the former UFC women’s champion.
Lynch will undoubtedly continue her attacks on Rousey and Charlotte Flair in the final few weeks leading to WrestleMania in April.
We’re on the road to WrestleMania and the Twitter banter between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey is heating up. Despite winning this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble, WWE storylines have the Irish grappler without a match at WWE’s biggest show of the year. That isn’t stopping her from getting under Ronda Rousey’s skin.
Things got so heated this week that Ronda Rousey threatened to “Beat the living s**t” out of Becky Lynch the next time that she saw her. Ronda Rousey called out Becky Lynch for posting “fake” mugshot photos of herself, stemming from Lynch’s “arrest” this past Monday after Raw. Lynch told Rousey not to use the “f” word and told her to focus on getting good at being a pro wrestler instead of acting above it.
Rousey doubled down on her use of the “F” word, posted a photo of Becky Lynch’s dis-armher arm bar finisher with the caption, “F word? You mean “fake”? Fake like your non sensical BS ‘armbar’ that doesn’t even work and just looks like you’re holding the dick you wish you had?” Lynch responded with the following – and yes, that’s the face of Ronda Rousey’s husband, Travis Browne.
Their social media feud was a hot topic of conversation this week on the Busted Open Radio show on Sirius XM. Co-host Bully Ray knows the wrestling business inside and out and believes Rousey is legitimately disturbed by Becky Lynch’s trash talking.
“I think Ronda got so p*ssed off that Becky put the picture of the husband up there that she threw everything out the window,” he said. “Start using the word, start using her real name, basically, everybody is reading this and going, ‘Oh my God, is this real?’ So, Dave I ask you, is it?” Ray’s co-host Dave LaGreca then commented that he had no idea if the ‘beef’ between the two was legitimate. Bully Ray then responded by saying “that’s the beauty of it.”
Ronda Rousey is embroiled in a heated social media feud with Becky Lynch as she gears up to be part of a historic WrestleMania main event. Since Becky Lynch won the Women’s Royal Rumble, their rivalry has been one of the hottest angles in all of professional wrestling
On a recent installment of the Ronda on the Road YouTube series, Rousey made it clear that she loves being part of WWE, but has other options.
“The thing is, I love this job. I really love this job. But I don’t need it at all. Not in the least little bit.”
Rousey continued, “So the second I’m not happy, I reserve the right to walk out the door and live happily ever after with the love of my life.” Ronda’s next comments solidified that this was very much a speech ‘in character.’
“The Authority, so they are called in this company, are just used to bullying everyone around. And like I said, they give them just enough for them to live a lavish lifestyle, but still have to come back. I don’t.”
Rousey is currently scheduled to defend her RAW Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 35.
WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has taken a shot at Becky Lynch over the latest angle in their feud on WWE programming. She knocked Lynch for her actions and sharing photos of her mugshots on Twitter.
Rousey wrote, “That’s what I’m trying to do dumbass. You hobbling around trying to be a ginger crutch ninja and taking fake prison photos in the hallway isn’t helping”
The arrest angle was done after Natalya and Rousey defeated The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott & Sarah Logan) in a tag team match on Monday’s episode of RAW in Atlanta, GA. WWE officials sent Lynch down to the ring and was removed by Atlanta police after invading the show to attack the champion the women’s division on the red branded show.
The belief is that Lynch will still make history by being involved in the main event of WrestleMania 35 in April. She earned this title opportunity once she won the Women’s Royal Rumble Match at the pay-per-view event that took place in January.
Originally, Lynch was set to challenge Rousey for the RAW Women’s Title at WrestleMania 35 but things changed once she was suspended for 60 days by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon due to her storyline knee injury.
As of this writing, Charlotte Flair is still advertised to face Rousey at the biggest event of the year for WWE. However, it’s expected that WWE will change the match to a Triple Threat Match.
Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch decided to continue the latest angle in her storyline on WWE television.
On Monday’s episode of RAW in Atlanta, GA at the State Farm Arena, Natalya & WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey defeated The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott & Sarah Logan) in a tag team match.
After the match, things got intense once Lynch came down to the ring and was removed by Atlanta police after invading the show to attack the champion the women’s division on the red branded show of the company.
On Tuesday night, Lynch took to her official Twitter account where she shared photos of her mugshot to her followers, which you can see here:
Originally, Lynch was slated to challenge Rousey for the RAW Women’s Title at WrestleMania 35. However, that was changed by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon when he announced that Lynch had been suspended for 60 days.
Thus, not being allowed to compete at WrestleMania 35. McMahon later announced that Charlotte Flair would replace Lynch and take on Rousey at the show. The belief is that WWE will make it a Triple Threat Match and add Lynch into the mix.
WWE ran an angle this weekend at live event that saw Charlotte Flair viciously attack Becky Lynch.
On Saturday night in Alexandria, LA, SmackDown Women’s Champion Asuka was battling Flair with the strap on the line when Lynch came from out of nowhere to attack Flair. However, things didn’t go Lynch’s way as Flair landed a kick to Lynch’s knee then tied up her knee up in the ropes and continuously hitting it with a steel chair.
After the angle, WWE announced on their official website that Lynch has “re-injured” her knee after the vicious attack. This comes after WWE Chairman McMahon announced that Lynch had been suspended 60 days and replaced by Flair to challenge WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey for the strap at WrestleMania.
As of this writing, WWE has yet to announce that Flair will be competing at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. Although it’s unlikely that she’ll compete at this show, she has vowed to be there. Her intentions are to watch Rousey make her next title defense against Ruby Riott at this show.
Check out this video of Charlotte attacking Becky Lynch Saturday night:
Becky Lynch Responds To Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Comments
Stone Cold Steve Austin had recently commented on fans comparing Becky Lynch to him and said that the Man does remind him of himself. Now the former Women’s Champion has responded to it.
Lynch responded to the Texas Rattle Snake’s comments via the following tweet, saying that she will have to share a drink with the former World Champion somewhere down the road:
As seen on Monday’s Raw, Becky Lynch was suspended by Mr. McMahon who also replaced her with Charlotte Flair in her WrestleMania match against Ronda Rousey. Now it’d be interesting to see where this storyline leads.
Naomi Comments On Being Pulled Over
We noted before how one half of the SmackDown Tag Team The Usos, Jimmy Uso was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstruction in Detroit, Michigan earlier this week.
He along with his wife Naomi were pulled over for driving down on the wrong side of a one-way street and Jimmy was arrested when he tried to ‘square up’ with the police.
Though the SmackDown Star was later released on a bond and when a fan asked about Naomi on Twitter, she revealed that she is also ok:
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin loves what Becky Lynch is doing. The WWE Hall of Famer says “The Man” reminds him of himself.
Austin called into Sirius XM’s Fight Nation show Wednesday night and spoke to hosts Miesha Tate and Ryan McKinnell about Becky Lynch’s skyrocketing popularity.
“She does remind me a lot of myself, cause if you line up that women’s roster and you said ‘Hey, I want you pick my next break out superstar’ I don’t think you’re gonna pick out Becky Lynch and I damn sure know you wouldn’t have picked me out of a line-up.”
Stone Cold believes Becky Lynch has worked her tail off, studied the game and has a chip on her shoulder. WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon provides talent with opportunities and lynch has made the most of them.
Any time WWE has cooled her off, she’s forged ahead and kicked down every door she’s had to. “So I love what she’s done, I love what she’s doing. I like her swagger and she is the hottest thing going right now and she’s not a person that’s dwelling on ‘this is going to be the most athletic match in the world.’”
Austin added that Becky Lynch is a great worker, but it’s her character that he finds most appealing. He loves her “The Man” gimmick.
Former WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins appeared to take a shot at former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. The reason for the jab was due to Rollins’ comment about the adult language that Lynch uses through the power of social media as she continues to advance her character.
It all started once Lynch stated, “Complete and utter bulls–t” as a response to her storyline suspension.
For those who may have missed it, during Monday’s episode of RAW, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon announced that Lynch would be “suspended” for 60 days. Thus, Charlotte Flair will now take her role in one of the biggest female matches in the history of the company.
Originally, Lynch, who won the Women’s Royal Rumble Match, was slated to challenge WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey for the strap at WrestleMania 35 on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium.
The belief is that this would’ve served as the headliner of the show, which also would’ve meant that they would make history. However, with Lynch being suspended for 60 days, Flair will now take on Rousey at the show.
There’s speculation after it’s been reported that it will turn into a Triple Threat Match with Lynch vs. Flair vs. Rousey. Back to Rollins, he took to his Instagram account where he took a jab at Lynch for using such language on social media:
Ronda Rousey believes the Women’s Evolution was robbed. The alleged offense took place last night when Vince McMahon replaced Becky Lynch with Charlotte Flair in the WrestleMania 35 main event.
Rousey issued a response to the decision recently. The reigning RAW Women’s Championship made her feelings known on Instagram.
Becky Lynch also took to social media in reaction to Vince McMahon’s announcement. Lynch referred to the match announcement as “complete and utter bulls**t”.
“Take your apology, and shove it up your arse.” – Becky Lynch, RAW 2/11/19
7x WWE Women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair, also reacted to news she’ll be wrestling Ronda Rousey at Mania. She took to Twitter to fend off some who are critical of her replacing Becky Lynch in the Mania main event.
“Wow, I didn’t realize that so many of you didn’t want me in the match. Taking that into account, I’ll be asking management to remove me effectively immediately,” Flair Tweeted. “J/K I could not possibly care less what you think.”
I’m sure you would. That would make you feel right at home.
WWE recently announced that Becky Lynch had been ‘invited’ to WWE RAW this Monday by the McMahon family. Lynch was suspended by Stephanie McMahon on this past episode of RAW as she was unwilling to see a doctor for her knee injury sustained at the Royal Rumble.
Lynch attacked Stephanie on RAW and then confronted Triple H the very next night on Smackdown. After exchanging words with ‘The Game’ Lynch slapped Triple H before exiting the ring and leaving the arena. Becky has been on an incredible hot streak over the past few months, the self proclaimed ‘Man’ has become an anti hero ever since Summerslam last year. Lynch of course won the Women’s Royal Rumble back in January and chose to face Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania. The match will be contested for the RAW Women’s Championship. There are conflicting reports on Charlotte Flair’s involvement in the match, with the Smackdown Superstar being considered to make the bout a Triple Threat affair.
‘The Man’ has now responded to the McMahon’s offer. Lynch took to Twitter and wrote “The McMahon family have me all confused. For a bunch of people who keep telling me to go home, you sure invite me to your shows a lot. The Man will come around, I guess. See you Monday.”
Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch taunted Triple H and Stephanie McMahon after sharing the ring with them on this past week’s episodes of Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live.
It all started after Lynch was “medically suspended” by Stephanie, who was later attacked by SmackDown star. Then, on Tuesday’s SmackDown Live, Lynch had an exchange with “The Game” to start off the show and later slapped him.
Lynch took to her official Twitter account where she taunted Triple H and Stephanie. She wrote, “Hey Steph, don’t forget to ask your husband how his day went in work. #idonttrustnoneofyou.”
The storyline is that Lynch won’t be allowed to challenge WWE Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey for the title at the WrestleMania 35 if she’s not cleared by a WWE doctor to compete again.
SmackDown Dark Match
Asuka successfully defended her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair by submission to win the match, which served as the dark main event on Tuesday night at the SmackDown Live TV event in Everett, WA at the Angel of the Winds Arena. It should be noted that Asuka didn’t appear on Tuesday’s episode of the blue brand.
With the Royal Rumble out the way and the women’s victor, Becky Lynch, established, it appears WWE is full steam ahead for WrestleMania 35. Despite the WWE Universe wanting “The Man” Becky Lynch to face off against “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey one-on-one, rumors still persist revolving around Charlotte Flair’s inclusion in the match.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Lynch was involved in a storyline featuring Stephanie McMahon. “The Man” would find herself suspended after refusing Stephanie’s demands to see a doctor regarding her knee. This prompted her to then attack WWE’s Chief Brand Officer on live television.
According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, there could be plans of a feud between the two women on the way to WrestleMania:
“The idea very much is, when this gets going, that Stephanie is a heel and they are doing — it is the beginning of kind of a Stephanie in a heel thing trying to hold down Becky because they only know one way to do this.”
Regarding Lynch’s hotly debated WrestleMania 35 matchup in April, Meltzer said that the “original [plan was] Becky Lynch beating Ronda Rousey. I assume Becky Lynch is still beating Ronda Rousey in the match. Perhaps they do something where she beats Charlotte Flair and they could come back with Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey in a singles [match] and Ronda will stay for an extra month. That’s certainly possible, that’s maybe even the way to do it.”
Shortly after winning the Women’s Royal Rumble, Becky Lynch confirmed that she would be challenging Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.
Since then the two WWE Superstars have been trading barbs via social media. Becky Lynch recently wrote that “Enough though I’ve had just 6 singles PPV matches since my WWE debut (Ronnie has 7) – I’ve changed this whole damn business. Overrated? The Man is underrated af.”
Rousey responded to this by saying that “Unlike you I don’t give a damn about my reputation or how I’m rated. You claim you’re carrying the @WWE, but all you do is cut promos about me, give interviews about me, and tweet me…you need me to have a real chance to get that main event spot at WrestleMania and you know it.”
There’s been speculation that Rousey and Lynch would be headlining the show. There has also been plans within WWE to add Charlotte Flair to the match and make it a Triple Threat for the title.
Last month Becky Lynch spoke to AZ Central regarding some fans calling her ‘overrated.’ Lynch stated “I keep hearing now that I’m ‘overrated,’ I don’t think I even know what that really means. Does it mean that I’m not what you think I should be? I’m working my [rear] off and delivering what I say and get a reaction every single time. What does that mean? Of course, it’s only from a few loud people. And that’s naturally gonna happen as you rise up the ranks.”
Seth Rollins is currently dealing with an undisclosed injury that will keep him out of action for the next several weeks. Rollins has not been medically cleared to wrestle, according to John Pollack of Post Wrestling.
“He is off live events for the time being and not expected to be used on Raw this Monday to recover,” Pollock reports. “We were told that he will only be doing promos with no physicality for the next month on television.”
WWE has yet to acknowledge the injury, but it’s believed the situation predates his recent beatdown at the hands of Brock Lesnar last week on Raw.
Rollins is scheduled to challenge for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35 on Sunday, April 7th.
Other WWE Injury Updates
Sasha Banks was not cleared to compete following the Royal Rumble but she is expected to be for Monday. She’ll team with Bayley against Nikkie Cross and Alicia Fox in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship qualifier.
AJ Styles was said to be a little beat up but will be cleared for Smackdown on Tuesday.
Becky Lynch was not on a recent Smackdown house show but the knee injury she is dealing with is said to be entirely storyline based. She’ll be on Smackdown this week barring any new developments. Lynch was seen leaving the arena Tuesday on Smackdown before WWE medical personnel could evaluate her.
But if you listen to The Jim Ross Report weekly, you also know that Good Ol’ JR does not hold back his praise for the modern WWE product when he believes it is warranted.
Ross expresses that sentiment on this week’s show when discussing the Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch faceoff from Raw on Monday.
“I don’t think I have ever heard a more intense or memorable segment than the verbal interaction, the verbal sparring, between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch,” said Ross.
That’s right, the announcer who provided the soundtrack to the Attitude Era ranks the Rousey and Lynch segment right at the top of his list.
“Becky Lynch cut a strong-ass promo, and Ronda Rousey trumped it,” said Ross.
“I didn’t think she was memorizing or reciting someone else’s lines that they wrote at their little laptop. It felt real to me.”
Ross also praised Rousey for recovering after the audience threw her off her promo game.
“The audience hijacked Ronda and knocked her off her game for a few minutes. I’ll never understand that, quite frankly,” said Ross.
“They hijacked the interview, and she miraculously recovered to rebut Becky Lynch.”
Becky Lynch hit Charlotte Flair with quite a shot this week on SmackDown Live. Fans have WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler to thank for that. Lawler revealed on a recent episode of his podcast, “Dinner With The King,” that he gave “The Irish Lass Kicker” on how to throw a good punch.
Lawler said he recently ran into Lynch backstage at a WWE event. They’ve exchanged greetings in the past but had never had a real conversation. Lawler said Lynch ran up to him and said she had been binge-watching a lot of “The King.” Lynch said Vince McMahon recently told her that he wanted her to be more physical.
She couldn’t think of anyone who throws a better punch in the business than Lawler. Lawler told Lynch he always tried to throw a punch the way someone would really try to hit somebody else. Aiming for their face or nose, and not making your fist so rigid and hard. Then, on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, Lynch hit Flair with a punch that looked very much like Lawler’s inside the ring.
Shortly after, Lynch and Lawler had the following exchange on Twitter:
“That’s a Jerry Lawler punch if I’ve ever seen one! Beautiful!”
Becky Lynch’s well-received victory at the Royal Rumble earlier this week and the segment between her and Ronda Rousey on the following Raw made it clear that fans are behind this feud and they would love to see a one on one match between the two.
While the reports suggested that the company is planning to add Charlotte Flair to this bout later on, it appears that these two mentioned segments have made the official decide otherwise.
In the latest edition of their Week in Wrestling column, Sports Illustrated provided an update on the WrestleMania main event, revealing that the company is planning to close the show with the Raw Women’s Championship match:
“The picture for WrestleMania 35 is far clearer today than it was a week ago. With only 67 days until the event, sources close to WWE have told Sports Illustrated that the current plan is to close WrestleMania 35 with the Ronda Rousey-Becky Lynch match as the main event.”
This leaves Charlotte in an interesting spot as it’s not very likely that she will be left out of the WrestleMania card. So it’d be interesting to see what backup plans the company has for her and who the Queen ends up facing at the show.
WWE’s Royal Rumble event saw possibly the hottest Superstar in the company, Becky Lynch, win the Women’s Royal Rumble. The Smackdown Live Superstar wasn’t originally booked to appear in the match following her loss to Asuka. The ‘Lass Kicker’ took Lana’s place when she was unable to compete, outlasting Nia Jax and Charlotte Flair in the final 3 to win the match and headline WrestleMania.
On Monday’s RAW Becky Lynch appeared to confront Ronda Rousey and demand that she got her chance to face the ‘Rowdy’ RAW Women’s Champion at WrestleMania.
With the success of Lynch at the Rumble it was likely that the Smackdown Live ratings would be positively affected. However, this was not the case. The post Rumble Smackdown was slightly down but essentially even with the last two weeks. Last night’s show averaged 2.137 million viewers, which made it ninth for the night on cable.
According to the Wrestling Observer the show finished second in the 18-49 demo with a 0.70 rating. The only major sports competition on television that night was NBA game on TNT, which did 1.113 million viewers. Smackdown retained around 79 percent of the RAW audience, which is reportedly lower than usual. It’s fairly clear that after a 2 hour NXT Takeover, 6 1/2 hours of Rumble PPV and a 3 hour RAW fans are burnt out.
Becky Lynch has not only become one of the best parts of WWE Programming in the past year but she has also upped her Twitter game. She has become one of the most interesting WWE stars to follow on the social network.
One of the best parts of Lynch’s Twitter are her transactions with other WWE Stars and Legends and the latest example of it is her recent exchange with the Rock.
Becky recently held an AMA session from her account and she ended up having an interaction with the Rock during which this duo teased a big match. Below is a new episode of WWE Now which takes a look at these stars teasing the bout:
Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match Confirmed For Raw
WWE has announced the third qualifying match for the upcoming Women’s Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber match, confirming that the bout will take place on next week’s episode of Raw.
The match will see Bayley and her partner Sasha Banks battling with the team of former NXT Star Nikki Cross and Alicia Fox for an opportunity to compete in the upcoming Chamber match.
This is the final qualifying match from Raw’s side and the winner of the bout will join Nia Jax & Tamina, Riott Squad and Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville at the announced bout.
Becky Lynch’s Epic Response To Vince McMahon’s Birthday Wish
Yesterday January 30th was the birthday of this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble winner and the Man Becky Lynch. So it was inevitable that she will create some twitter buzz.
Lynch made some interesting tweets during the day and she also called out the current Raw Women’s Champion and her WrestleMania opponent Ronda Rousey in one them:
However, the tweet that stood out came in the response of a birthday wish from the chairman Vince McMahon himself, where Lynch effortlessly connected the story to a very famous comment from the boss:
This week’s episode of SmackDown had some surprising matches and segments including the one where R Truth won the United States Championship from Shinsuke Nakamura.
WWE recently posted a top ten moments video of the show which features this surprising title change and more interesting moments from the episode, like Daniel Bryan introducing a new WWE Championship belt.
This list is topped by the main event segment of the show which featured Daniel Bryan and some other stars. It saw Triple H announcing an Elimination Chamber match for the WWE title. You can check out the video below:
