Update: Asuka vs Becky Lynch Not Official For Royal Rumble 2019

Despite the match being announced on a recent episode of Main Event, Asuka vs Becky Lynch is not confirmed for the Royal Rumble. Former Smackdown General Manager, Paige, Tweeted that she made the match before she was relieved of her position and that the match is not official.

“Soooo I tried to make one last match before my time as GM came to end…but unfortunately vs. for the Smackdown Women’s Championship is NOT official for .

Paige’s statements do leave the door open for the match still taking place, however, only the match is not official. It’s not clear what led to the match being announced and then later retracted.

Royal Rumble 2019

Three matches are confirmed so far for the Royal Rumble PPV this year. Braun Strowman will challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. There will also be the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches with R-Truth and Carmella having earned the 30th entrant in their respective Rumbles.

Royal Rumble 2019 is scheduled for January 27th, 2019 from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

John Cena Praises Becky Lynch

John Cena offered up some praise for Lynch earlier.

“I love any instance where people feel comfortable enough with self to be expressive,” Cena said of Lunch. “For so long I didn’t know what or who Becky Lynch was. And now I do. And that fires me up.”

John Cena Praises Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch’s recent success in WWE seems to have caught the eye of John Cena. The 16-time WWE World Champion was recently interviewed to promote his new “Bumblebee” film. During the interview, “The Leader Of The Cenation” was asked about Lynch. Cena said that he loves the fact that Lynch is confident enough in herself to be expressive. He ended off by saying it fires him up to see a Superstar thriving the way Lynch is.

“I love any instance where people feel comfortable enough with self to be expressive. For so long I didn’t know what or who Becky Lynch was. And now I do. And that fires me up.”

Lynch Tweeted out the clip of Cena and issued a response. The Irishwoman said she found her voice in 2018. Come 2019, she won’t allow anyone to hold her down again:

The former SmackDown Live Women’s Champion is currently embroiled in a feud with Charlotte Flair and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey. It’s possible the three are involved in the main event of WrestleMania 35. If so, it’ll be the first women’s match in history to main event “The Show Of Shows.”

Becky Lynch Shows Of Christmas Gifts From Conor McGregor

Two Irish sports stars who have been getting chummy with one another recently are Conor McGregor and Becky Lynch. McGregor is a former dual-weight UFC champion who is the most famous star the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA) has ever seen. As for Lynch, she’s arguably the biggest star in professional wrestling at the moment. The pair have exchanged words with one another on social media in recent weeks.

However, it looks like “The Notorious” recently sent Lynch a gift just in time for the holidays. Lynch took to her Instagram story to share that McGregor recently sent her some bottles of his new Proper 12 Irish Whiskey.

Lynch and McGregor have yet to have met in person, according to Lynch in a recent interview on “Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show.” However, McGregor has told Lynch to call him if she ever needs any “back up” in WWE.

Lynch also teased doing something with McGregor in WWE as well.

McGregor is currently awaiting punishment from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for his post-fight brawl at UFC 229 in October. As for Lynch, she’s currently wrapped up in a feud with Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey. It could find its way into the main event of WrestleMania next year.

What do you think of McGregor sending Lynch some of his Proper 12 Irish Whiskey?

Becky Lynch vs Asuka Booked For Royal Rumble 2019

Becky Lynch will challenge Asuka for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at the Royal Rumble. In peculiar fashion, WWE announced the match during an episode of Main Event. The syndicated show is filmed before RAW and rarely broadcasts much of any significance.

The announcement was made after a recap of Asuka vs Naomi from Smackdown was played on the show.

Becky Lynch vs Asuka – Royal Rumble 2019

Asuka and Becky Lynch have never faced each other in single’s competition on WWE programming. When house shows are factored in, however, the Rumble will be their second single’s match. Asuka successfully defended the NXT Championship against Lynch at a WWE house show in Japan on July 2nd, 2016.

They’ve twice been on opposing sides of each other on WWE programming, however. The first time was the 2017 Royal Rumble, which Asuka won, and the second was Sunday’s TLC triple threat match which again was won by Asuka and also involved Charlotte Flair.

Royal Rumble 2019

Lynch facing Asuka at the Rumble throws a wrench in the idea that Lynch would enter the Rumble match itself in order to win and face Ronda. Though, if WWE does want to do Becky vs Ronda in the main event of WrestleMania, there are several avenues they can take to get there.

Ronda Rousey Claims Becky Lynch Stole Her Underwear

The angle between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch has taken a new turn: Ronda is claiming that Becky stole her underwear. The alleged theft is believed to have taken place during the Smackdown invasion of Raw in the build-up to Survivor Series.

Rousey made the allegation during a series of Tweets the two began exchanging yesterday.

https://twitter.com/BeckyLynchWWE/status/1075485278612152320

Rousey offered up the following explanation for her interference at TLC on Sunday:

Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair

Becky Lynch was a guest on Edge and Christian’s podcast last week. She spoke about how even now she is not “the chosen one” by WWE brass.

“No matter how much things change, they stay the same,” Lynch said on the show. “I’m the champ and I’m still not on those posters. So there is that, there is that I’m still not completely the face of the company no matter how much I do, no matter how much interest I’m drumming up, I’m still not the chosen one and that’s fine because that gives me more fuel for the fire.”

Long Line For Becky Lynch Signing (Photo)

Becky Lynch continues to prove that she’s one of WWE’s biggest stars. The now-former SmackDown Live Women’s Champion held an autograph signing at a Cricket Store recently in Clovis, California. The signing took place between 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. local time. Lynch did the signing in order to promote last night’s episode of SmackDown Live in nearby Fresno.

It turns out, the line for the meet and greet actually began to form well before 10 A.M. Unfortunately not all fans were able to make it inside to meet “The Man,” after waiting outside in the cold for hours. But Lynch went outside to pose for photos with fans anyways. Check out some photos of the long line here:

Over the weekend, Lynch dropped the SDL Women’s Title to Asuka in the first-ever Triple Threat Women’s Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) match. Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Asuka main evented the TLC PPV. However, RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey interfered in the contest when she pushed a ladder down carrying both Lynch and Flair.

As a result, Asuka, being the last woman standing, was able to climb the ladder and retrieve the title. It’s likely WWE is setting up a big Triple Threat match between Flair, Rousey, and Lynch for WrestleMania 35. It has the potential to be the first female match in history to main event a WrestleMania PPV.

Becky Lynch: I’m Still Not The Face Of The Company No Matter How Much I Do

Becky Lynch might be the hottest thing in WWE at the moment but she still doesn’t feel like she gets the respect she deserves. The Man was a guest on Edge and Christian’s podcast last week and spoke about how WWE still doesn’t treat her as the face of the company. Lynch relayed a story on the show about how even now it’s Charlotte Flair and not her who is on the posters for Smackdown.

Lynch would credit the fans with helping to put her in the position she is in now, however.

“Thankfully, the fans have believed in me,” she said. “That’s who I thank all the time for putting me in this spot because they never stopped believing in me.”

Lynch began making her comments at approximately 45 minutes into the episode:

Smackdown Live! 12/18 Preview

Tonight’s episode of Smackdown will emanate from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. Smackdown is under new management as well. Last night on Raw, the McMahon family announced they will be taking control of both Raw and Smackdown.

Smackdown General Manager, Paige, reacted to the news:

Asuka’s Reign Begins

On Sunday, Asuka climbed the ladder and grabbed the Smackdown Women’s Championship title. Tonight on Smackdown, the era of Asuka begins. Will there be someone from the Smackdown women’s division who wants to end her title reign quickly, however? We could find out more about what is in store for Asuka and her title reign as we head towards the Royal Rumble tonight.

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair Respond To Ronda Rousey’s Actions On Sunday

Ronda Rousey cost both Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair the Smackdown Women’s title on Sunday. While it’s not yet clear what will be in store for that two former friends as WWE heads into the Royal Rumble, tonight both will respond to Rousey’s actions from Sunday.

Will Daniel Bryan Introduce A New Strap For The WWE Championship?

Daniel Bryan promised that if he could defeat AJ styles at TLC on Sunday that he would replace the strap on the WWE championship. According to Bryan, he wants to introduce a new sustainable strap. Bryan evidently realized on Sunday the strap for the title is made of leather and leather comes from cows which create methane and contribute to global warming when mass-bred through factory farming.

Will Bryan follow through on his promise? If so, what will the strap be made out of? Will he mistakenly refer to it as a belt? We could find out the answers to these questions tonight on Smackdown.

Who Will Be Next For The Bar?

The Bar defeated arguably two of the best teams in WWE history on Sunday. In a triple threat match, they defeated both New Day and the Usos. Just like that, new title contenders will need to be determined in the Smackdown tag team division. We could find out tonight what is next in store for Sheamus and Cesaro tonight.

Becky Lynch Issues Statement On WWE TLC Loss

Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has broken her silence on losing the title.

“The Man” is dealing with the outcome of the main event of TLC pay-per-view event in San Jose, California as she lost the title to Asuka while also battling Charlotte Flair in the first-ever Women’s Triple Threat TLC Match once WWE RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey came out to the ring where she pushed Flair and Lynch off a ladder then left and walked to the backstage area. She took to her official Twitter account where she posted the following:

“Resilience and heart and passion got me up this morning, bandaged me, got me through a work out. But it was straight simple vengeance that made me promise to chase them all down. I agreed. It will be done.”

https://twitter.com/BeckyLynchWWE/status/1074752918111150080

She would later tweet in a response to a fan, “It’s not the title that made The Man, it was The Man who made that title. TBC.”

https://twitter.com/BeckyLynchWWE/status/1074754480070123520

It appears that Lynch will get her rematch clause put into place in order to get a shot at reclaiming the SmackDown Women’s Title against Asuka which could come as soon as the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.

Watch What Happened After TLC Went Off The Air

As noted before, Asuka walked out of the Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view event last night as the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, in the main event match which also saw interference by Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey.

In a video released by WWE, we get a glimpse at what happened after the match when TLC went off the air:

As Charlotte Flair was making her way back to the ring, we see Becky Lynch angry over the interference by Ronda Rousey which cost both the competitors the title.

Charlotte Flair herself was not too happy with the outcome, and understandably so.

During the match, Ronda Rousey interfered by pushing Becky and Charlotte off a ladder which gave Asuka the chance to win the match.

“I will be back, I will be back, I will be back!” an emotional Becky Lynch proclaims on the ramp whilst making her way backstage.

While as of this writing there is no news on when Becky Lynch will get her rematch for the title, it seems like it could be coming soon. We could see a rematch this Tuesday on SmackDown Live or on the Royal Rumble, whenever it is, we’ll keep you updated.

The TLC pay-per-view event takes place tonight (Sunday, December 16th, 2018) in San Jose, California at the SAP Center that will air on the WWE Network. Be sure to join us for play-by-play action.

WWE Releases Becky Lynch Documentary (Video)

WWE just released a documentary on SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, hours before her historic title defense. Lynch will defend her SDL Women’s Title in the first-ever Women’s Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) match against Asuka and Charlotte Flair. It all goes down at the TLC PPV from San Jose, California’s SAP Center.

Lynch’s documentary, entitled “Becky Lynch’s journey from “doctor jail” to WWE TLC: WWE Chronicle,” documents her return from injury. Several weeks ago, Lynch suffered a broken nose and concussion at the hands of Nia Jax during a segment on Monday Night RAW. The injury forced Lynch out of her scheduled match against RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series.

The loss of the match was a huge blow to the card, as it was the most anticipated on the show. Instead, Charlotte Flair stepped in for Lynch, who hand-selected “The Queen” as her replacement on SmackDown Live. Now, Lynch is fully recovered from her injuries and will compete this weekend in a physically taxing TLC bout.

Becky Lynch Claims She & Ronda Rousey Are WWE’s Biggest Stars

There’s no doubt that Becky Lynch has risen to become one of WWE’s biggest stars in the past few months. However, has she become one of WWE’s top two biggest stars? “The Irish Lass Kicker” sure believes she is. Speaking to Uproxx recently, Lynch went as far as claiming that she and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey are the company’s two biggest stars.

It’s for that reason she believes they should main event WrestleMania 35 next year from MetLife Stadium:

“Look, main events of WrestleMania already have “man” written into it, and I am the Man… There [aren’t] two other stars in WWE right now bigger than Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey, and for that reason and that reason alone, that should be the main event.

“If we look at the trajectory of WrestleMania and WWE and who gets the main event spot, it’s always the top draw. And it’s always the people that are bringing the most people into the stands. Well, that’s the Man.”

Lynch rose to prominence in WWE after turning heel on Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam. Flair had injected herself into a SDL Women’s Title match she worked hard to earn, and wound up winning the match. Lynch attacked Flair, before going on to capture the title herself at the Hell In A Cell (HIAC) pay-per-view (PPV).

In that time Lynch has become a massive fan-favorite amongst WWE fans, and is preparing to make history tomorrow night. She’ll defend her title in the first-ever Women’s Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) match against Flair and Asuka. The PPV goes down from the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

What do you make of Lynch’s claim that she and Rousey are WWE’s biggest stars?

Becky Lynch Talks About Her Heel Turn

The WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch recently spoke to Yahoo Sports where she touched on the topic of her heel character, after she turned on her best friend Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam. “The Man” also talked about why her turn has been one of the best angles in professional wrestling and more.

After sitting on the sidelines for a almost a year, Becky Lynch took out her frustration on her best friend Charlotte Flair when she turned on her after losing a title match against her.

“I think I knew going into it that I wasn’t the bad guy in that situation,” Lynch told Yahoo Sports. “How could I be the bad guy? I had gone on a winning streak unmatched by anyone on ‘Raw’ or ‘SmackDown.’ I owned the show. As soon as Charlotte comes back she gets a title opportunity and then steals the win from me. I think the fans wanted me to have that single moment.”

Becky talks about how instead of the fans hating her for being a villain, she was cheered on and supported by everyone. She was surprised that turning on her best friend made her even more popular than before.

“Yes [I was a bit surprised],” Lynch said. “I don’t think you can ever expect a response like that. When you get one it’s incredible, but it’s never expected or guaranteed.”

“[Fans] want somebody that they can look at and emulate,” Lynch said. “Someone who knows when enough is enough. When they’ve been passed over continuously, undermined, underestimated and they say, ‘No, you know what, I deserve this. I worked for more than this, I am more than this. I’m going to show the world.’ That’s what [I’m] doing.”

Becky says that her heel turn was something that she knew she had in herself, but she wasn’t sure on how she could bring it out and be well received by the audience.

“It’s something that I knew that I had in myself, but I didn’t know how to bring it out, what the right opportunity would be,” Lynch said. “I’ve walked around saying the things that I’ve been saying in my head for a long time and now the truth is coming out and I’m saying what I want to say without any fear of what people think of me, fear of being disliked. It’s been very freeing.”

Becky Lynch In TLC

Becky Lynch is set to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair and Asuka tomorrow at TLC. After being out from Survivor Series due to a legit broken nose and concussion, and unable to face Ronda Rousey at the event, Charlotte Flair took her place and was disqualified for her brutal attack on Rousey. Flair explained that she attacked Rousey for Becky’s sake, but when Becky returned on the subsequent episode of SmackDown she revealed that she actually did it for herself. After a title match was set between the two at TLC, the female roster demanded a chance for the title and an eight-woman battle royal was held. Asuka emerged as the winner, who was then added in the match at TLC. The event will broadcast tomorrow on WWE Network on 7ET/4PT from the SAP Center in San José, California. You can check out the entire card here. Also take a look at our predictions for the event.

Becky Lynch Reveals There Was Locker Room Animosity Towards Ronda Rousey

The SmackDown Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, recently appeared on popular MMA show, ‘Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show.’

During the course of the interview, ‘The Man’ broached a number of different subjects. These ranged from her career and recent broken nose, to Conor McGregor and her growing popularity.

She also shared her opinion on current RAW Women’s Champion, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey.

“Nobody Can Take That Away From Me”

According to Becky Lynch, there was a sense of resentment and animosity towards the former UFC Bantamweight champion upon her arrival and immediate push.

“Absolutely [there was dislike towards Ronda Rousey],” Lynch admitted. “That’s the thing with so many people and the people they want to succeed, right? And that was never me. There are chosen people and that was never me. I was never meant to succeed. I was never the one that was meant to be the champion, the one that was meant to be on top, the one that was supposed to be on the posters and the billboards,” she said.

“I think that’s what made it [Lynch’s success] all the more sweeter and I think that’s what the audience relates to because they could see that,” Lynch declared. “And that is why I think they’ve supported me because I made this myself and nobody can take that away from me. Nobody can take that away from me.”

WWE Working On Becky Lynch Network Special

It appears that the WWE will be releasing a documentary on their current SmackDown Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE has issued a film crew to follow ‘The Man’ this past week for an apparent Network special. There has been no confirmation as of yet if this will be a new episode of ‘WWE 365’ or potentially for their ‘WWE Chronicle’ show.

365 vs Chronicle

WWE 365’ documents a year in the life of a specific superstar. These episodes grant fans a unique insight into that performer. Conversely, ‘WWE Chronicle’ is much more of a story driven, in-character focused offering.

It will be interesting to see which of the two the Becky Lynch documentary will be.

The recent filming included her appearance on ‘Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show.’ Their discussion ranged from her popularity within WWE and Conor McGregor, to Nia Jax breaking her nose.

‘The Lass Kicker’ defends her championship gold this Sunday at WWE’s December event, Tables, Ladders and Chairs. She will be facing off in a triple-threat matchup against Charlotte Flair and Asuka in the first ever Women’s TLC confrontation.

Which show are you hoping this special is for? Are you looking forward to its debut?

Becky Lynch Mocks Corey Graves’ “Heenan-Lite” Routine

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch got fans talking over a recent tweet that she sent out towards WWE color commentator Corey Graves, who calls both Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live.

Lynch is preparing to make her next title defense against Charlotte Flair and Asuka in the first-ever TLC Match at the TLC pay-per-view event on Sunday, December 16th, 2018 in San Jose, California at the SAP Center that will air on the WWE Network.

This is the latest step in her career under the WWE banner as she continues to be one of the biggest stars that the WWE has right now not only on SmackDown Live but on the entire roster.

On Wednesday afternoon, Lynch decided to have some fun at the expense of Graves when she mocked him in a tweet that appeared to be random. She wrote, “So Graves has been saying I’m too cocky, and I talk too much on social media – like that’s a bad thing. I drum up more interest in 1 tweet than you do with 5 hours of your Heenan-lite routine every week. Listen, I’m here to make history, you’re just here to observe me do it.”

https://twitter.com/BeckyLynchWWE/status/1072979658113802242

This is when Graves responded to her message by writing, “I’ll admit it. It’s tough to go FULL-Heenan when the boss is actually paying attention to your work. You’ll realize that someday.”

Toni Storm Talks NXT UK, Becky vs Ronda and more

Mae Young Classic 2018 winner Toni Storm recently spoke to the UK’s Metro Sport on a variety of topics. The Australian Superstar is one of the top prospects in the UK and is heavily featured on the NXT UK brand.

When asked who the best wrestler in the world is right now Storm replied by saying “That is such a tough one right now! You’ve got the likes of Daniel Bryan and Finn Balor, but I’ll tell you who’s coming up right now who’s going to take that soon, Pete Dunne! I think he’s on his way to becoming the best in the world. He knows exactly what he’s doing, he’s an absolute professional and has been doing it since he was a kid. He’s just fantastic.”

Storm was also asked who the most underrated wrestler in the UK scene was. Toni stated that “I know it’s probably the obvious choice but my fiancee Chris Ridgeway is incredible, and he’s doing really well on the UK indie scene. He needs to be seen all over the world. I watch his stuff a lot, I had a match with him a few months ago and he is literally world class. It would be good if we could see his face a lot more.”

Storm was also asked if she felt Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch should headline WrestleMania next year. The Aussie Superstar responded by saying “Absolutely, 100%! Imagine that, it should absolutely headline Wrestlemania. They’re two of the toughest women in the world. That’s exactly what I want to see at Wrestlemania.

Becky Lynch Reflects On Raw Incident With Nia Jax

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch made an appearance on the Ariel Helwani show on Monday where she spoke on a wide variety of topics including the incident with Nia Jax during the RAW invasion angle. This was when Jax punched Lynch a few weeks ago on RAW during an invasion angle where she would cause Lynch to suffer from a broken nose and concussion. This led to Lynch being pulled from her champion vs. champion match against Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series.

During this interview, Lynch reflected on how she got through the segment as she stated that she went to the hospital that night after the event and completely blacked out after she got hit. However, she was able to roll up to the ropes, got up again and went into auto-pilot

“I smashed half of RAW, including ‘Ronnie’ Rousey. So it turns out that my auto-pilot is a bad a** too.” This is where she continued by stating that she got checked out and showed up to the SmackDown TV event the following day. After the show, she wasn’t able to fly due to strict concussion protocols.

She also hoped once she showed up to Survivor Series that she could get in there and fight but they wouldn’t let her. Lynch recalled taking some time off to rest which is hard for her considering that she’s used to be on the road for 300 days a year.

I took my rest, I took my fish oil and my CBD oil, things that were supposed to help get my brain better. Now, I still have the broken nose, but it’s nothing I can’t fight through.”

Becky Lynch Hints At Learning Deadly Move From Conor McGregor’s Coach

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has hinted at adding a new move that could be deadly inside of the squared circle. Lynch dropped a hint at potentially working with Conor McGregor’s coach, John Kavanagh, over the break in the WWE schedule during her time off for the Christmas holiday when she returns home to Ireland in order to train.

This wouldn’t be the first time for Lynch to work with Kavanagh as she and Jinder Mahal did just that last November while WWE was on tour in Ireland.

This exchange all started once Kavanagh tweeted about The Man on Monday once her appearance on Ariel Helwani’s MMA show was announced, which led to Lynch responding by stating that she was looking to learn a new move to show off in her matches.

Becky wrote, “Been looking for a new impact move, I’m home for Christmas if you’re around.”

This led to Kavanagh responding by stating that they should work on a new move together which led to Lynch commenting back to him by stating that she wanted something “Deadly. I’m looking to cross paths with a few women over here who’ve earned a good beating. Thought I’d add a new attack at home, then come back here for all their heads.”

Becky Lynch Takes Shot At Charlotte Flair’s “Cosmetic Enhancements”

Becky Lynch took a crack at Charlotte Flair’s “cosmetic enhancements” on Twitter recently. Lynch was responding to criticism from Flair about having missed time on Smackdown due to a concussion and broken face.

https://twitter.com/beckylynchwwe/status/1071138710006185984?s=12

“Charlotte calling me out on TV and online for “missing time.” Again, The Man will just provide the truth in the face of lies.”

Becky Lynch Takes Shot At Charlotte Flair

Big E was shocked enough by the statement that he reacted with a Kramer GIF:

Charlotte also issued a response to Becky:

“Walking out in a T-shirt doesn’t qualify as “not missing a smackdown”. I’ve never missed a day as champ. You want to make fun? Go ahead. You have plenty of time to tweet from the sidelines. When you pull out of TLC, I’ll be there to save the day. Again.”

Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair vs Asuka – TLC

Becky Lynch will defend her Smackdown Women’s Championship against 2 challengers in 8 days at TLC. Originally, Smackdown GM, Paige, booked a rematch between Becky and Charlotte for the title. The rest of the Smackdown Women’s roster complained, however, and Paige later scheduled a battle royal with the winner being added to Becky vs Charlotte at TLC.

Asuka would win the battle royal later that same evening and book her spot with Becky and Charlotte at TLC.

Becky Lynch States That She Wants To Main Event WrestleMania 35

Becky Lynch is arguably the hottest star in WWE right now. ‘The Man’ has seen an incredible rise to the Smackdown Live Women’s Championship and is reportedly being groomed for the WrestleMania 35 main event. In a recent interview with the Asbury Park Press Lynch confirmed that she wanted the top slot at the show of shows.

When asked what her ‘hopes’ were for WrestleMania 35 she stated “The same hopes as I always have, to main event WrestleMania, right? And that’s what I want to do this year. And I don’t care who I have to go through to make that happen, that’s my goal, and to go out and steal the show.” Becky is currently expected to be in the main event against RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey.

Lynch also discussed her use of social media to help get her character over. Becky said “I think it’s so important because you’ve got however long we have on TV, usually maybe 15 minutes, 10 minutes. 10, 15 minutes we have on TV, 30 if you’re Becky Lynch and you put on the longest women’s match in WWE history on TV, maybe. Becky elaborated further, stating that “when you’re on social media you can extend the story, you can get your voice out, you can let people know how you’re feeling, what you’re thinking. And what I’ve said about other people’s social media is they’re on there writing love letters to each other. I don’t have time for that. I don’t have time for that because I don’t care about anybody else, I care about me and being the champion, being the best, being ‘The Man.’

Becky Lynch Pinpoints The Moment Fans Started Supporting Her

Given her astronomical rise to the top of the main event scene within WWE, you wouldn’t blame Becky Lynch if everything felt a bit like a blur.

Ever since turning heel against Charlotte Flair during August’s SummerSlam event, ‘The Man’ has been on a crusade as she continues her anti-heroine behavior. Not even suffering a broken nose and concussion could impede on that.

For Lynch, however, she believes she can almost pinpoint the moment the WWE Universe began to rally behind her.

Speaking with Asbury Park Press, ‘The Lass Kicker’ divulged that she believes this crystallising moment took place during WWE’s Money In The Bank event on June 17th, 2018.

“I don’t know if it’s that they [the WWE Universe] can tell that I’m so passionate about it [wrestling] and that I just want to be really good and that every time I go out there I try to put on the best match possible in the time that I can for them,” she said. “I don’t know if it’s that, but I think that we saw at Money in the Bank every time I climbed the ladder they showed their support, and I think that was when everybody started to turn their heads and say, “Oh, OK, Becky’s got a connection with these people.”

Becky supposedly had issues believing in herself in the past. Given the vocal swell of support over the past few months, that presumably won’t be a problem anymore.

Finn Balor Didn’t Think Becky Lynch Believed In Herself

Given how they now both work for the same company, it’s easy to forget that it was Finn Balor who helped to train Becky Lynch when she was first getting started in pro wrestling.

That was in 2002. Before Bullet Club, before ‘The Demon,’ and before Becky Lynch became ‘The Man’ in WWE.

Speaking with Sam Roberts on his podcast, Notsam Wrestling Podcast, Finn Balor recalls training a young Lynch as well as a number of other topics, including his forthcoming match against Drew McIntyre at WWE’s TLC event, his time at NXT, and the potential of moving to SmackDown.

A key takeaway from their conversation revolved around Becky’s belief in herself and her abilities. Reflecting on her recent rise to superstardom, Balor commented that everybody believed in her when she first started out. Everyone except herself.

“Can I believe that this is happening? Yes,” Balor said with resolute confidence. “I’ve always believed that Becky had that in her, I just don’t know that she believed it. Maybe in the last couple months, she’s started to get that self-confidence. I think everybody believed in her except herself. Finally, she got that self-confidence, and she’s been rockin’, man. It’s unbelievable to watch, and I think it’s only going to get bigger.”

“She is on fire right now,” he continued, “and she’s been around almost as long as me. She’s been around 15-16 years or something, so she knows exactly what she’s doing in the ring. She’s comfortable, her promos are on fire, and she’s killing. Long may it continue.”

Becky Lynch Discusses Being Trained By Finn Balor

Becky Lynch is arguably WWE’s hottest star at the moment. Her rise began back at SummerSlam when she turned heel on Charlotte Flair following their SmackDown Live Women’s Title match. Despite attempting to turn heel, the WWE Universe has thrown a tremendous amount of support behind “The Irish Lass Kicker.”

Lynch won the SDL Women’s Title from “The Queen” at Hell In A Cell (HIAC), and has reigned ever since. Now, she’s preparing for yet another historic title defense. After successfully defending her title in the first-ever Last Woman Standing match at Evolution, she’ll attempt another historic defense. Lynch will defend her title against Flair and Asuka in the first-ever Women’s Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) match.

The bout goes down at the TLC PPV on December 16th from the SAP Center in San Jose, California. Recently, Lynch did a Q&A with the Asbury Park Press to promote the match. One of the questions she was asked was about being trained by fellow WWE star Finn Balor early on in her career.

Here’s what Lynch had to say about being trained by her fellow countryman:

“You know what he taught me a long time ago? He said, “If anybody tells you it’s raining, go out and check.” And I always think that’s perfect. It’s a little bit like the whole (idea that) you can’t trust anybody, right? And not everybody’s got your back, right?

“And so I think I’ve learned that, and you’ve seen that in me coming out on TV recently, that I don’t trust anybody, that I’m going to go out and check for myself and take things for myself. I think that’s what he meant by that. Also, what was so great about Finn is that he was so passionate, right?

“I think that extended down to everybody he taught because we all absorbed that passion and we wanted to be the best. And he just has such a great work ethic and such a discipline and such a drive and such a belief in himself.

“So I think that extended to me and that was something that I looked at and idolized and hoped that one day I could bring out in myself. And look, here we are.”

What do you think about Lynch’s comments regarding being trained by Balor?
