“Becky Lynch took the Jaded (Glam Slam) and landed sideways, she landed on her side. Having separated my shoulder twice wrestling, I knew immediately that was not good. She started grabbing her shoulder, and she was grabbing her shoulder throughout the rest of the match,” Alvarez said. “We can confirm today that she did suffer a shoulder separation. I don’t know the extent of it, there are several grades of shoulder separation.”
Lynch did finish the bout and was using her arm, but after the match, she was seen being escorted by WWE’s medical team following the match.
Bayley, IYO Sky (Io Shirai), and Dakota Kai returned once Belair shook hands with Lynch to form their new faction.
A separated shoulder typically takes between two and 12 weeks to recover from. We wish Lynch a speedy recovery.
It appeared WWE was planning a 3 vs. 3 match at some point. However, those plans will have to be pushed back or changed because of Lynch’s injury.
Becky Lynch had abandoned the moniker that helped her become the most over wrestler in WWE when she turned heel after her SummerSlam return last year.
The former Women’s Champion had defeated Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship in a quick manner, angering a lot of fans.
She completely changed her look after this victory and started promoting herself as Big Time Becks. A full year after that, Becky faced Bianca once against at SummerSlam, this time for the Raw women’s championship.
The former champion put over the EST this time around. After the match, she showed respect to her opponent and shook her hand.
Bayley made her return after this with Dakota Kai and Io Shirai. This group tried to intimidate Belair but Becky Lynch stood by Bianca’s side, cementing her face turn.
The WWE star then cleared any doubts about her future on Twitter. She changed her handle to The Man, hinting at the return of the beloved character:
Though latest reports suggest that Lynch may have suffered an injury in her match against Bianca Belair. If this is true then we may have to wait some more to see The Man’s comeback on WWE TV.
After her face turn last night, it is now rumored that Becky Lynch may have suffered an injury at SummerSlam.
Becky’s SummerSlam Match & Moment
Former Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch appeared to suffer a shoulder injury during her match against Bianca Belair last night at the WWE SummerSlam premium live event.
In the opening match of the show, Lynch challenged for Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Title. Belair picked up the win after 15 minutes of back and forth action.
At this time, neither WWE nor Becky Lynch have confirmed that Big Time Becks was legitimately hurt during the bout. We will continue to provide updates on Becky Lynch as they become available.
Becky Lynch is one of the most successful pro wrestlers of the current generation but it wasn’t always the case. The former women’s champion stepped away from wrestling in 2006 and stayed retired for more than six years. According to Lynch, it was a dark time for her and she battled with depression during this period.
The Man recently had an interview with ESPN. Speaking about her early wrestling career, Lynch mentioned how she didn’t look like the girls that WWE was signing at the time. So she joined a bodybuilding competition in hopes of building herself up, but it turned out to be a slippery slope for her:
“At the time, they wouldn’t have signed me. I didn’t look like the models that they had under contract. So I started doing a bodybuilding competition because I thought, ‘Well, maybe if I look like these girls, then I’ll have a chance of getting signed.’
So I started doing this bodybuilding competition. I know there’s a lot of people that do bodybuilding, and they do great. For me, it was a slippery slope right into an eating disorder. [It] really ruined my mental health for a long time. I became depressed.”
‘It Felt Like A Death’: Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch stepped away from wrestling after suffering a concussion during an indie event in September 2006. She spent the next six years trying to figure out something else to do with her life. She also went to guidance counselors for help:
“I couldn’t face up to it. I was so ashamed that I had turned into this dark person in my head. That I hit this, this low point in this depression. I couldn’t identify with myself because I identified myself as being this great wrestler. Then I just I spent so many years trying to find who I was and what lit that fire in me again.
I would go see counselors and stuff. Guidance counselor. [I was] like ‘I was good at this thing, and I loved this thing,’ and they were like ‘Okay well, but you can’t do this thing anymore. So what else are you gonna do?’ It felt like a death I was kind of trying to grieve. I know that’s very morbid and it’s a dramatic statement, but that’s how it felt.”
Thankfully for Lynch, she managed to recover and get back into the wrestling business. She participated in a WWE tryout after encouragement from a friend. Lynch was signed to a development contract in April 2013, and the rest is history.

For decades, there has been a debate about who is the greatest wrestler of all time.
Names like Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and John Cena could all lay claim to being the G.O.A.T, but there’s plenty more than just those five wrestlers.
Everyone has their personal pick for the greatest wrestler ever, including the current WWE roster.
The Greatest of All Time
Seth Rollins has plenty of accolades to his name, including reigns as WWE and Universal Champion, the WWE Grand Slam as well as capturing the Money in the Bank Briefcase in 2014 and the Men’s Royal Rumble match in 2019.
Rollins is known, on and off-screen for his high opinion of himself, but has chosen a different current Superstar as the greatest of all time.
Speaking to Sport1, Rollins named his wife Becky Lynch as the greatest to ever step foot in WWE (via Wrestling Inc.)
“Becky has developed into one of the biggest stars in the history of our industry with her personality, she is now the greatest wrestler of all time for me. And you can see that there is more than one way to be ‘larger than life.’ If you’re already physically fit, it’s definitely easier, but there’s another way. You don’t have to look like Hulk Hogan or John Cena, Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are also ‘larger than life,’ although they feel physically 1.50. In the end, it’s not about the physical conditions, it’s about what you make of your conditions.”
“With her personality, she is now the greatest wrestler of all time.”
Seth Rollins on his wife Becky Lynch.
Lynch will challenge Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at Summerslam, while Rollins’ match with Riddle has been postponed.
Some have suggested that Rollins will still have a presence on the show tomorrow night.
Vince McMahon was notorious for being a workaholic and not taking any time off before his retirement. The one time he did take a holiday, the wrestling veteran came up with the biggest spectacle of the wrestling business, according to Becky Lynch. Adam’s Apple on YouTube recently caught up with The Man.
When asked about her favorite Vince McMahon story in light of his retirement, Becky recalled the time she asked the boss about taking Holidays:
“Probably, I sat down with him [and asked] ‘Hey Vince, you ever take any time off?'” recalled Becky Lynch, “He’s like ‘Well, one time I took a holiday and I was lying on the beach. I couldn’t relax. Then I came back and I said you know what we’re gonna do? We’re gonna do a big event. It’s gonna be like the SuperBowl and we’re gonna call it WrestleMania.’ I was like ‘Well Vince, I think you should take more Holidays.'”
Apart from this, Lynch was also asked about her favorite match. Replying to it, she said that currently it’s the WrestleMania 38 bout against Bianca Belair. She mentioned how they stole the show at the Grandest Stage Of Them All and got people talking.
Becky Lynch is currently scheduled to face Bianca Belair at SummerSlam in a WrestleMania rematch for the Raw Women’s Championship this Saturday.

WWE Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair has expressed frustration about having opponent changes during her title reigns.
The champion is currently in a feud with Carmella, who stepped in as a replacement for Rhea Ripley. WWE wanted Ripley to challenge Belair at Money in the Bank on July 2.
However, she suffered an injury, and the company gave Carmella the opportunity. A similar situation happened last year when Carmella had to step in to replace Bayley due to injury to face Belair for the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship.
In an interview with The Corner Podcast’s Andreas Hale and Kel Dansby, Belair shared that dealing with opponent changes can be frustrating. She doesn’t blame anyone, but she expressed disappointment that feuds haven’t gone as planned.
“…It’s difficult, and it gets frustrating with me sometimes. I felt like even with my Smackdown title reign, I wasn’t able to live up to the full potential of Smackdown Women’s Champion, just with how short the reign was and also with my title feuds,” said Belair. She mentioned how Carmella replaced Bayley last year and that she misses her.
“…Bayley getting injured and then have Carmella having to step in at Summerslam and I feel like not being able to have these amazing matches with that I could have had in my title reign and being able to go up against other great competitors to prove that I’m a champion and then getting cut short and fast forward now it’s like deja vu. It’s happening all over again.”
Although it can be difficult, Belair believes that it’s making her a better competitor and that she is dependable.
Will Bianca Belair Continue her Feud with Carmella for Summerslam?
The feud between Belair and Carmella is still ongoing, but it’s unclear has changed their mind. Belair defeated Carmella at Money in the Bank, which could’ve ended the feud.
Carmella’s win should set up another match against Belair, but before the match, Lynch demanded that she gets to challenge the champion at Summerslam on July 30.
Belair finds herself in the same situation she faced last year, with the same potential opponents going into Summerslam as champion.
It’s unclear what plans the company has for Belair or who she will defend her title against. Hopefully, for Belair, she doesn’t lose her championship again at Summerslam.
The special Independence Day edition of WWE Raw is in the books and something went down when the cameras stopped rolling.
This week’s episode for the red brand featured a six-man tag match involving WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits vs. Theory and Alpha Academy. There was also a singles match between Seth Rollins and Ezekiel.
The main event was a No Holds Barred match. It was Asuka taking on Becky Lynch.
Once the USA Network broadcast went off the air, Becky Lynch addressed the WWE Universe and called herself the GOAT.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtdsVUMpTN8
WWE also aired its Raw Talk show. Riddle was interviewed and discussed saving Ezekiel from a post-match attack at the hands of Seth Rollins.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair were also interviewed and they talked about their tag team win over Natalya and Carmella.
This week’s episode of WWE Raw is history but did anything go down after the show?
The June 27 edition of Monday Night Raw was a special one. John Cena made his return to a WWE ring in Laredo, Texas. He was in several segments backstage and cut one heck of a promo when he addressed the WWE Universe.
Fans also got to witness two qualifying matches for Money in the Bank. Riddle has been added to the men’s MITB, while Becky Lynch earned her spot in the women’s ladder match.
Following The Broadcast
There was no post-event dark match. After the show, Becky Lynch addressed the WWE Universe, posed, and was taking selfies with some fans in the crowd.
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has said that Becky Lynch seems a “bit off” following the latter’s defeat at Hell in a Cell 2022.
At last Sunday’s Premium Live Event, Lynch lost a triple threat match to Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair which also included Asuka.
On Twitter, Stratus responded to a fan who said they’d love to see Stratus have a role as a WWE authority figure which would lead to a match with Lynch,
While Trish said the match would be a “SPECTACLE” and that Becky Lynch is a “great asset” to the Women’s division, the Canadian legend said that Lynch is a “bit off.”
Responding, the WWE Raw Superstar said that the only ‘off’ she is is “off the charts.”
Stratus’ last match came at Summerslam 2019 when she lost to Charlotte Flair.
Becky Lynch was for years WWE’s unquestionable top female Superstar, holding her own against every opponent.
Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Natalya, and Sasha Banks are just some who fell to Lynch’s time on top, but things are much different now.
Since losing the Raw Women’s Title to Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38, Lynch has become increasingly more chaotic and desperate to regain the championship, something that she’s failed to do so far.
On this week’s Raw, Lynch lost to 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke in the latest setback for “Big Time Becks.”
While the match saw interference by Asuka, the fact that Lynch lost to Brooke (an opponent of far lower standing than her) is telling.
Lynch’s failure to capture the WWE 24/7 Championship also serves as the deconstruction of her character, from confident headliner to paranoid challenger.
The Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, and the match itself, make up a huge piece of WWE’s history. A newer piece of said history is that of the few women’s Hell In A Cell matches we’ve seen. As a result of the women’s revolution, the female performers in WWE got the opportunity to go at it inside the cell just like the men.
So far, there has been four women’s Hell In A Cell matches. Three out of the four have included Sasha Banks. Women’s Hell In A Cell matches were featured at the following Hell In A Cell pay-per-views: 2016, 2019, 2020, and 2021. We have seen Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks vs. Bayley, and Bayley vs. Bianca Belair.
Throughout the years, the women’s match has always been one to steal the show. Many times we only see wrestlers get thrown into the cell when the feud is undeserving of it. However, with there being only one women’s Hell In A Cell match, it is normally given to the feud that is most deserving of it.
Previous Women’s Hell In A Cell Matches
Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Flair (2016)
Charlotte and Sasha set the stage for what the women could do inside Hell In A Cell. From their entrances, you could tell that this match was extremely meaningful. These women took brutal and captivating bumps before the bell even rang. Even though there were some unfortunate, and uncontrollable, mishaps, these women were able to put forward incredible efforts. Unfortunately, the finish of the match was messed up, and the result deflated the crowd, but these women went on to have better matches against each other.
Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch (2019)
Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch has been regarded as one of the best women’s wrestling matches in the WWE. This was viewed as Sasha Banks’ redemption match from her match with Charlotte Flair. The atmosphere of this match really enhanced the match itself. There was so much creativity within this match that it set the bar for the other female Hell In A Cell matches to come. The match itself is regarded as one of the best Hell In A Cell matches of all time.
Sasha Banks vs Bayley (2020)
Sasha Banks vs Bayley was the culmination of one of the biggest stories during WWE’s pandemic era. Banks’ legacy was partially formed due to the incredible matches she had within the cell. Each year, we have seen Sasha improvise and create new things to do within the cell. Bayley’s first go in the cell was one of the defining matches of the pandemic. She was not afraid to take the bumps necessary to make it as legendary as it was.
Sasha and Bayley have such a long history that they were able to use that to their advantage. Everyone remembers their match from NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. They did all they could to create new spots and moments to try and make the match just as memorable.
Bayley vs Bianca Belair (2021)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLiErWk2OLI
Bianca Belair’s first time in the cell was epic. With only about five years of experience, Belair was able to define her career with that match. From Bianca’s gear to her creativity inside the match, it was one of the significant matches in Bianca’s match catalog.
It would be a crime to not mention the performance that Bayley put on in this match. Bayley worked this match as the veteran had already competed against Sasha in the cell the year before. She was able to lead the match while still playing up her usual heel tactics. Bayley had been messing with Bianca since before she won the title. This was the perfect stipulation for this feud that was unfortunately was also the last match in the feud as Bayley got hurt before their scheduled ‘I Quit’ match.
The Importance Of Women’s Hell In A Cell Matches
It’s another scathing indictment of the booking of the women’s division that there is not a women’s Hell In A Cell match on this card. Between the walkout and suspension of the women’s Hell In A Cell veteran Sasha Banks and Naomi, and the lack of strong storylines in the women’s division on SmackDown, it is honestly no surprise that this is where the division is at right now. As the card currently stands, the SmackDown Women’s Championship isn’t even being defended at the pay-per-view.
Possible Hell In A Cell Matches For This Year
Each year, we see new women enter the cell and test the limits of their in-ring ability. It’s sad that this will not be the case this year. There are many women on the roster who would’ve been deserving of the Hell In A Cell match slot.
The best option for this year seems to be Liv Morgan vs Rhea Ripley. If Asuka hadn’t returned, it would’ve made sense to do Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair inside the cell for the Raw Women’s Championship. This would’ve been the perfect match stipulation to tie a bow on their long-running feud. The Raw Women’s Championship feud is currently based on a two-person feud that Bianca was placed in. It doesn’t make sense to put this feud inside of the cell due to the lack of engagement in the feud from the champion herself.
There are many combinations of undeveloped stars within the division that would’ve especially benefited from having the experience of being in the cell. Especially those like Rhea Ripley, Shotzi, Liv Morgan, Doudrop, Zelina Vega, Shayna Baszler, and so much more would benefit from being in a match like this.
They truly have dropped the ball with the opportunity to include a women’s Hell In A Cell match like they have for the last three years. The division, especially in the state it is in without its big stars like Sasha, Naomi, and Charlotte, the other women in the division would’ve benefitted from the chance to compete in a more hardcore and savage match stipulation.
WWE Raw Superstar Becky Lynch may be called “The Man” and “Big Time Becks” but now the Irish Superstar is being compared to Jerry Seinfeld.
During this week’s Raw, Lynch wore a white, puffy shirt during a backstage segment with Dana Brooke and Adam Pearce.
Almost immediately after, fans took to social media to compare Lynch to Seinfeld, who wore a similar top in the hit sitcom’s fifth season.
In ‘The Puffy Shirt,’ Seinfeld earns a lucrative appearance on “Today” but must wear the shirt after a misunderstanding with Kramer’s “low talker” girlfriend.
The episode is often considered one of the best in the entire Seinfeld series, with Jerry’s line “I don’t wanna be a pirate” becoming synonymous with the show.
Fans also compared the outfit to what Prince wore during his ‘Purple Rain’ music video.
On Raw, Lynch defeated Asuka, earning a spot in the Raw Women’s Championship match at Hell in a Cell 2022.
The match will now see both Lynch and Asuka challenge Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair at the June 5, Premium Live Event.
Nia Jax doesn’t think Becky Lynch actually has any friends in WWE.
Jax recently took part in a Q&A on her Instagram, when one fan asked if she and Becky Lynch were good friends. Jax responded by laughing, saying she doesn’t think Lynch has a good friendship with anyone in WWE.
This isn’t the first time Nia Jax has spoken out against Superstars or WWE in general. She recently noted she has received calls from people still there regarding how “miserable” they are working for the promotion.
Jax was released from WWE in November of 2021. During her time with the company, she was a one-time RAW Women’s Champion and a two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Shayna Baszler.
After her release, Jax didn’t do much in regards to professional wrestling, however, she’s currently slated to renew her rivalry with Lana (CJ Perry) at the upcoming inaugural Wrestling Entertainment Series (WES) event on June 4 from Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena.
As for Lynch, she recently dropped the RAW Women’s Title to Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas earlier this year. In her attempt to regain the title, Lynch actually lost a No. 1 contenders match to Asuka on Monday Night RAW last week.
Now, Asuka will face Belair for the RAW Women’s Title at the upcoming Hell In A Cell event. As for Lynch, it remains to be seen what’s next for her, as she was devastated as RAW went off-air last week, following her loss.
Lynch attempted to hit Asuka with her umbrella while the referee was distracted, but Asuka countered with a green mist attack, subsequently pinning Lynch for the win.
Sasha Banks and Naomi walking out of Raw put WWE in a strange position in regards to the already announced Raw main event. This is where Becky Lynch came to the rescue and pitched the alternative match to close the show.
WWE had originally planned a six-pack challenge to determine the new #1 contender for the Raw women’s champion Bianca Belair for this week’s episode of Raw.
However, the company was put in an awkward position because Sasha Banks and Naomi who were supposed to compete in the match walked out of the show.
Vince McMahon was informed about it after the show had already gone on air and they had announced the main event. This is when Becky Lynch suggested the alternative idea.
Per Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Man suggested a one-on-one #1 contenders match instead and offered to put over Asuka in the main event of the show.
This worked because WWE is trying to save a rematch between Lynch and Belair for a major PPV. So she couldn’t win the championship contender match.
The match saw Becky trying to use Asuka’s umbrella as a foreign object. However, the Japanese star blew green mist in her eyes and pinned her for the win.
Asuka will now challenge Bianca Belair for the Raw women’s championship at the Hell In A Cell PPV. The show will take place from Allstate Arena in Chicago on June 6.
Becky Lynch attempted a physical attack on Cody Rhodes after Monday’s WWE Raw went off the air.
Rhodes is currently embroiled in a heated feud with Lynch’s husband, Seth Rollins. When the American Nightmare came out for his dark match main event, Big Time Becks couldn’t contain herself.
Lynch competed against Asuka in the main event of Raw. The winner would become the #1 contender to Bianca Belair’s Raw Women’s Championship. Asuka got the victory and Lynch was left with a face full of green mist.
During Rhodes’ ring entrance, he was confronted by Lynch, who attacked him with a flurry of punches and kicks – none of which landed.
You can see footage of the incident here:
Becky Lynch after Raw just before the Dark match not being able to see anything swinging at Cody is absolutely hilarious! She’s so funny. Also fist bump for Bianca from Cody. pic.twitter.com/q7vcwb4ODB
— Grace 🏴🏴 (@Baby_Face_Grace) May 17, 2022
Cody went on to defeat Seth Rollins in the dark match main event of the evening. The third (and likely final) televised match between these two will take place at Hell in a Cell on Sunday, June 5th.
After Becky Lynch made it backstage, she was interviewed by WWE’s digital team. As seen below, she wasn’t in the best mood about how things transpired on Raw:
Bianca Belair may have not been the main event of WrestleMania 38 this year, but she knows her match with Becky Lynch was tough to follow.
Belair was recently a guest on the “Ring The Belle” podcast and discussed not getting the main event nod for Night One of WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, Texas this year.
While Belair acknowledged that every match on the card deserved to be at WrestleMania, she knew she and Lynch’s match was hard to follow.
“Well, for me, we [Belair & Becky Lynch] are the only two women that have won the main event of Wrestlemania so automatically, you know, for us, that was a huge match. But what I’ll say is every match on the card was deserving to be on Wrestlemania.
“But I’ll say it was hard to follow that and so when you put on a match where it’s hard for anybody to follow, that means nobody is supposed to follow it.”
Lynch put her RAW Women’s Title up for grabs against Belair, with the latter pulling off the win in what was, arguably, the best match of the weekend. Although, they certainly had some competition.
Immediately following their match was a bout between Seth Rollins and the returning Cody Rhodes which also left fans in amazement.
Stone Cold Steve Austin’s long-awaited return to in-ring action ended up being the main event, and was a nostalgia-filled parade of entertainment alongside Kevin Owens.
However, in terms of pure wrestling, there’s certainly an argument to be made that Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch’s match stole the show.
WWE Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair was very much active when the cameras stopped rolling for the May 9 episode of Raw.
During Raw, Asuka was granted a non-title opportunity against Belair by Adam Pearce and Becky Lynch was furious that “The Empress” was being handed a match.
Asuka said that Lynch left in April 2020 to become a mother, but is acting like a baby.
In the main event, Belair faced Asuka in a Championship Contender’s Match, which “The EST” won via disqualification when Lynch interfered.
In the post-show dark match for the Hartford, Connecticut crowd, Belair faced Becky with the championship on the line. Belair retained her title against “Big Time Becks” after hitting her with the KOD.

What’s next for Becky and Belair? What about Asuka?
A returning Asuka confronts Becky Lynch on the April 25, 2022, edition of Monday Night Raw.
With Becky attacking Belair, it appears that their feud isn’t over just yet, and fans can expect a rematch between the current and former Raw Women’s Champion.
This is an interesting move considering that Asuka, upon her return to WWE TV two weeks ago, seemingly began a feud with Lynch, confronting her during a promo about regaining the Raw Women’s Title. Perhaps we’re in store for a triple threat?
If a rematch is in the works between “The Man” and “The EST,” it will likely be at Hell in a Cell 2022 which will take place on June 5.
So far, no matches have been confirmed for WWE’s next Premium Live Event.
Former WWE Superstar Maria Kanellis-Bennett has praised newly-signed talent Roxanne Perez, comparing her to Becky Lynch.
Perez, previously known as Rok-C, officially signed with WWE in March 2020, and is a former Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion.
Speaking to the Bleav in Pro Wrestling Podcast, Kanellis-Bennett said that Perez shares a lot of similarities with the former Raw Women’s Champion:
“I hesitate to say this because I don’t like anybody comparing anybody to anyone else, but the ability that you have in Becky Lynch, you have in Roxanne. I think that is only going to continue to grow. Of course, she’s still got things she has to work on but I think at some point, Roxanne will be on the same level as Becky.
“She has the technique down. She has the story, she has the heart. She used to ride the bus to go to wrestling training before she could drive a car or anything like that. She rode a bus so she could go to training.”
Roxanne Perez’s ROH Women’s World title win came when Kanellis-Bennett had a backstage role with Ring of Honor’s Women’s division.
Perez made her WWE in-ring debut on the April 12, 2022, episode of NXT LVL UP, defeating Sloane Jacobs.
In her most recent match, she faced NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose in a losing effort
Kanellis-Bennett recently announced the start of her own all-female promotion ‘Women’s Wrestling Army.’
Becky Lynch has sent out a warning to fans regarding fake accounts asking people for money while pretending to be celebrities. Lynch wrote the following:
“It should go without saying, but I, or any other WWE superstar, Would not ever message any fan looking for money or gift cards.
Please, if anyone ever messages you, pretending to be me, asking for money, or anything else, immediately block and report. The amount of times I have heard of this happening is sickening.”
This is happening too often with some notable examples including a fan losing his home because he believed that WWE star Liv Morgan needed help. Another fan attacked Seth Rollins at a live event because he was duped by a fake account.
Lynch dropped the WWE Raw Women’s Title to Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38 and took a few weeks off from appearing on television while continuing to work live events.
Lynch returned last week on Raw where she was interrupted by the returning Asuka. She doesn’t have a match lined up for WrestleMania Backlash just yet.
Becky Lynch says the women’s division in WWE is far superior to AEW’s.
WWE is heading overseas this week for the annual post-WrestleMania European tour. The company is still running shows in the US this weekend, including a “Saturday Night’s Main Event” house show from Lakeland, Florida at the RP Funding Center.
Big Time Becks called in to Drew Garabo Live Featured Cut Of The Day to promote the Lakeland event and had some interesting things to say about the state of AEW’s women’s division.
She sees two big issues with the AEW women’s division:
They don’t feature women prominently, as WWE does
The women in AEW are not on “the same level” as WWE
Frankly, they’re not as good as we are
Lynch was asked if she feels motivated by having competition from AEW. She wishes that was the case, but she’s not feeling the heat.
“I wish I could say ‘yes,’ but, unfortunately, I don’t think they are represented the way we are, they don’t get as much time as we get and frankly, they’re not as good as we are,” said Lynch (via Fightful).
Lynch went on to say that WWE has the best women’s division in the world — and it’s not even close.
“Competition is great and it’s great for there to be another place and I have a very good friend, Ruby Soho, over there and I would love to see her as champion one day,” she said. “I would love to see her get the spotlight she deserves. Competition is always great. Over here, we’re on another level.”
Listen to Becky Lynch’s appearance on Drew Garabo Live Featured Cut of the Day:
WWE & AEW’s Women’s Divisions
Top female competitors in WWE include Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Carmela, Naomi, Natalya and Liv Morgan.
Top female competitors in AEW include Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa, TNT Champion Jade Cargill, Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, Nyla Rose, Serena Deeb, Kris Statlander, Ruby Soho and Riho.
Becky Lynch will return this coming Monday on Raw. WWE announced the news on SmackDown and followed up with confirmation on the company website.
This will be Big Time Becks’ first television appearance since losing the Raw Women’s Championship to Bianca Belair at WrestleMania.
During the lead-up to that match, Lynch claimed she would “sell her soul” to remain champion. What will she have to say after tasting defeat?
Based on the what we’ve seen from Lynch since WrestleMania, she hasn’t been handling the loss well. Last weekend, she released a video stating that she wasn’t ready to face the WWE Universe without “her” championship.
In addition to Becky Lynch’s return, WWE has announced the following for Monday’s WWE Raw from the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee:
Randy Orton’s 20th Anniversary celebration
Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair vs. Sonya Deville
Arm Wrestling Challenge featuring Bobby Lashley vs. Omos
Ahead of Monday’s Raw, check out this video of Randy Orton looking back on 20 years in WWE, including some of his greatest milestones and wildest moments:
Becky Lynch isn’t emotionally ready to appear on WWE Raw.
Lynch hasn’t appeared on television since losing the Raw Women’s Championship to Bianca Belair at WrestleMania 38. The loss has affected her confidence. Lynch got accustomed to being a champion that she’s not yet ready to face the WWE Universe without her prized possession.
On Sunday night, Lynch posted a video from backstage at the WWE Live Event from Syracuse, NY. Lynch explained her television absence in a rare display of vulnerability.
“It’s been three years since the last time I walked out on RAW without the championship,” she said. “I’m not ready to walk out on Monday Night RAW without my championship.”
Lynch did not get to the top of WWE without being resourceful. She revealed that she had a plan to make things right. Ahead of her Sunday night showdown against Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley, she continued:
“I always have a plan, that’s why I’m here in Syracuse because I’m going to win back my championship. I will walk out tomorrow on Monday Night RAW as your new Women’s Champion.”
She will not walk out on Raw as the new Women’s Champion. Bianca Belair picked up the victory to retain the title.
Either Becky Lynch needs to get over the fear of facing WWE fans without being Women’s Champion, or it’s going to be a while before she’s back on Raw.
Glazia’s profile on Lynch says, “Lynch stands for [equality] and women empowerment in every sector.
The multi-time WWE Women’s Champion is also quoted saying, “With women empowerment and women coming together, it’s not about being better than the guys or whatever. It’s not just about collaboration; it’s about being equal people and having more of a highlight on women’s athletics, and just women being equal in every aspect.”
Becky Lynch and Charlotte haven’t restored their friendship.
There was a time when Becky and Charlotte were good friends. The two had been chummy dating back to their NXT days and that hadn’t changed on the main roster before things took a bad turn.
The relationship was reportedly strained after Becky called Charlottle “plastic” during a promo a few years back.
The frustration between the two eventually boiled over on WWE TV with Charlotte not engaging in a planned tug of war with Becky during a segment on SmackDown. This was to promote their champion vs. champion match at Survivor Series in 2021.
Becky Lynch & Charlotte Still On The Outs
During an interview with Ariel Helwani for BT Sport, Becky Lynch said that while she wishes the situation could’ve been avoided, she doesn’t regret how she handled herself.
“I wish the whole thing didn’t go down the way it did. It didn’t need to go down that way but I don’t really have any regrets on my behalf.”
When asked where things stand with Charlotte now, Becky’s answer was short and sweet.
“Same.”
As far as interactions go, a simple “hello” is about all that’s left.
“Sometimes, maybe a nod.”
Becky said she realizes that despite the bad blood, the two are still co-workers.
“We have to do live events often two days a week. So, one has to be able to co-exist. We haven’t had to work together though.”
While there is a ton of pride when it comes to the friendship lost, Becky admitted that the split did leave her feeling emotional.
“You talked to me afterwards and I was quite emotional just especially watching the video packages. I think WWE does such an incredible job. That team is amazing at putting video packages together but to see the journey of where we had started to where we are now where we just hated each other and wanted to fight and wanted to rip each other’s heads off.
“It really got to me.”
