Former Top Executive Reflects on His 9 Years With WWE

Former WWE Executive Canyon Ceman has shared his farewell post to the company. Ceman worked with the WWE from 2012 to 2021.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that the WWE released Ceman on July 23, 2021. The company has released talent over the year due to budget cuts. However, it’s unclear if the former executive release is related to WWE’s budget issues. The timing of Ceman’s departure also happened around the time of WWE’s contract issue with Adam Cole. Wrestling Inc’s Marc Middleton shared that timing of Cole’s contract dispute “Very much lines up with the timing of Ceman’s departure.” Although, the WWE hasn’t confirmed Middleton’s statement.

Regardless, Ceman seems grateful for his time in WWE and shared his appreciation in the farewell post on Linkedin.

“In the spirit of 2022, and a new chapter about to begin, I want to say thank you and a final LinkedIn goodbye to my past chapter at WWE am grateful to WWE for an adventurous 9.5 year run as a leader in talent development,” wrote Ceman.

    Canyon Ceman Reflects on Accomplishments

In his post, Ceman detailed his proud accomplishments during his WWE tenure. He shared that he helped scout talent in China, Japan, and Mexico. Ceman also mentioned he played a role in the “Women Empowerment Movement” in the WWE. The former executive brought up talents Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Rhea Ripley as people he helped.

“I am most proud of the efforts we made towards professionalization and globalization of athlete acquisition and development, India, Dubai, Japan, China, Saudi, Mexico, Australia, Chile, Germany,” said Ceman. He continued, “…Our role in the Women’s empowerment movement in WWE, from Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch to Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair, so proud of Sara Amato and all we accomplished. The culture of respect and empowerment we built at the WWE PC, as we launched and grew NXT and NXT UK, and of the superstars launched and stories created through all of these projects.”

Ceman also thanked his former co-workers like Triple H, Matt Bloom, and William Regal. He ended the farewell post by saying that an announcement was coming soon. It’s unclear if Ceman still wants to work in the professional wrestling business.

  • Becky Lynch Retains Raw Women’s Title At WWE Day 1

Becky Lynch Retains Raw Women’s Title At WWE Day 1

Liv Morgan got her chance to step into the ring and challenge Becky Lynch for the WWE Raw Women’s Title a second time at the Day 1 pay-per-view event.

The match featured Lynch in control early as she ragged dolled her around the ring until Morgan fought back including a drop kick off the middle rope. Morgan hit a spring board powerbomb for 2. Lynch won with her powerslam finisher.

Their first match took place on the December 6th episode of Raw where Lynch retained the title against Morgan in the main event as she grabbed the bottom rope for extra leverage while pinning Morgan.

On the December 13th episode of Raw, Morgan interrupted Lynch and challenged her to a rematch. At first, Lynch denied cheating to win and that Morgan was an easy opponent. Also, Lynch thought Morgan should blame herself for not beating Lynch to it

Lynch eventually attacked her and trapped Morgan’s arm between the steel steps and the ring post and started stomping on it. Lynch then said if Morgan still wants that rematch then it came happened and it did.

What are your thoughts on Becky Lynch retaining the Raw Women’s Title? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.

Tommy Dreamer Shares His Top Male & Female Wrestlers Of 2021

Tommy Dreamer has unveiled his picks for the top male and female wrestlers of 2021.

Wrestling fans had plenty to smile about this year. Fans eventually were back in arenas at full force in the United States and we saw plenty of fantastic matches and moments.

Whether you’re a fan of WWE, AEW, NJPW, Stardom, Impact, AAA, or the indies, you were likely satisfied at least a few times.

    Tommy Dreamer’s Number One Picks

On an episode of Busted Open Radio, Tommy Dreamer made a top 10 list for the men and women of wrestling in 2021. His top pick on the female side is Becky Lynch, who he gave the nod to over Mickie James.

“My number one on the top 10 women is ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch. Another person who came back unexpectedly, had a child, is in amazing shape and, I feel even though she’s a way better babyface than as a heel, is still thriving in the role that is given to her.

“I had big debate over Mickie and Becky but Becky is on a larger scale so that’s where I came with my top 10.”

Dreamer admitted that he had one heck of a time making his top choice on the men’s side. Ultimately, it was down to Kenny Omega and Roman Reigns.

“My number one is Kenny Omega. Why? Because he held three titles for three different companies and was a drawing factor on PPVs and a drawing factor in attendance for three different companies.

“Not only was he killing it on the microphone, not only was he killing it in the ring, he did it for three different companies and he too was banged up.”

Who is your pick for the top male and female wrestlers of 2021? Let us know in the comments!

  • Top WWE Stars Pulled From MSG Event Amid Covid-19 Outbreak

Top WWE Stars Pulled From MSG Event Amid Covid-19 Outbreak

WWE is making some major changes to tonight’s live events in New York City and Tampa, all while the company continues to deal with a Covid-19 outbreak with their performers and staff. While we can’t say for certain that the changes are due to the outbreak, four big names are not present tonight at Madison Square Garden who were advertised previously, and further changes are also being made to the main event tonight in Tampa.

Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins vs. Big E in a triple threat steel cage match and Bianca Belair vs. Becky Lynch in a steel cage match were advertised for the MSG show tonight. According to PWInsider, Rollins, Lynch, Big E, and Belair are not at the show. The report notes that Edge is now being brought in for the show as a replacement, and he is now scheduled to work a match on the show. Natalya will also now be appearing.

Madison Square Garden did announce this afternoon that an NXT title match between Tommaso Ciampa and Pete Dunne has been added to the show. However, it should be noted that that match has previously been planned for the Raw tour this week.

The PWInsider report also notes that changes are in store for the WWE live event in Tampa tonight as well. The advertised main event there has been Roman Reigns and The Usos vs. Drew McIntyre and The New Day. Plus, a women’s match featuring Charlotte Flair vs. Sasha Banks in a Street Fight. We’re not aware of what changes are set to be made as of right now.

WWE’s ticket sales for the MSG show tonight in particular have been disappointing, with the live attendance looking to be WWE’s lowest at the venue since 2004. As of this afternoon, only about 51% of the tickets had been distributed based on the setup for the show. Post-Christmas shows at the Garden have typically been hot tickets in years past.

Liv Morgan Attacks Becky Lynch At Seth Rollins’ Wrestling Academy

WWE filmed and released footage of an angle shot at Seth Rollins’ Black and Brave Wrestling Academy. In the video, Liv Morgan attacks someone she assumes to be Becky Lynch from behind, only for the real Lynch to appear behind her.

The two then fought with a kendo stick for a period before Morgan eventually gained the advantage and Lynch escaped the ring area.

Morgan and Lynch will again clash for the title at the Day 1 PPV on January 1st, 2022. The first title match between the two ended when Lynch scored the victory while grabbing a hold of Morgan’s tights. It was just the second time the two have faced each other in singles competition on WWE programming. The first occurred in 2019 when Lynch needed just 1 minute and 18 seconds to defeat Morgan in a Beat the Clock Challenge.

Morgan recently commented on when she found out she’d be main eventing an episode of RAW against Lynch during an Instagram live session.

“Not until that day [did Becky Lynch and I know we were main eventing Raw] and all week I was hoping, I was hoping so much that we’d get to main event because I really want to pay homage but also, you know, do our own thing and I just was hoping it would be the main event and then I found out a couple hours into the day that we were gonna be the main event because originally, we weren’t. We weren’t gonna be the main event. It got switched and so it was just so special.”

WWE Day 1 Updated Card: Lynch vs. Morgan Set, Lashley Added To Title Match

Liv Morgan’s challenge for a rematch at the WWE Day 1 pay-per-view event against Becky Lynch with the Raw Women’s Title was accepted by the champion on Monday’s episode of Raw.

They just main evented last week’s episode of Raw when Lynch used the ring rope to secure leverage for her pin to retain the title. On this week’s show, Lynch was confronted by Morgan.

Although Lynch declined, a brawl broke out with Lynch getting the advantage on the outside and putting Morgan’s arm between the ring steps and the ring post before stomping it on. Lynch then accepted the challenge if Morgan still wanted it.

Also, Bobby Lashley has been added to the WWE Title Match as Big E will now defend the title against Lashley, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens. Lashley won a gauntlet match, which included victories over Rollins, Owens, and Big E, to earn his way into the bout.

WWE presents the Day 1 pay-per-view event on Saturday, January 1, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia at the State Farm Arena that will air on Peacock. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming weeks. Here is the updated card:

  • Becky Lynch Gets Pinned In Dark Match On SmackDown

Becky Lynch Gets Pinned In Dark Match On SmackDown

This week’s WWE SmackDown saw some special appearances including Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. While she didn’t compete on broadcast, she did get in the ring after the cameras were off.

Becky Lynch participated in a fatal four-way match that featured SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, and Bianca Belair, who is also from Raw.

Fans captured the dark match and from the footage it can be seen that Sasha Banks pinned Becky Lynch, much to the fans’ delight. It’s also interesting to note that Lynch was last pinned on television by Banks too, on the October 15 edition of SmackDown.

Meanwhile on the main show, Banks offered advice to Toni Storm in a backstage segment after she picked up a victory against Charlotte Flair in a contender match. Storm was awarded the win by disqualification as Flair wouldn’t stop attacking her. This effectively made her the number one contender for the title.

Lynch, on the other hand, may be facing Liv Morgan to defend her Raw Women’s Championship in a rematch. We saw Lynch using ropes for advantage while rolling up Morgan for the win on this week’s Raw. Of course, the referee didn’t notice this illegal move, so it is likely that we’d see a rematch to settle things fairly.

Morgan recently got in hot water for a promo on the 29 November edition of Raw. During the promo, Morgan said, “You’re the reason why your friend is gone, just like the reason why your big, fat greedy contract is the reason why my friends are gone.”

She explained her stance in an interview and said she’s not apologetic. “…Becky brought up my friends. She’s brought up my friends not being here,” said Morgan. She continued, “… After my segment aired, I got texted from my friends saying how proud they were and how amazing they thought it was. I don’t think there were hard feelings, kind of anywhere around. I know I’m kind of addressing something that may feel like an elephant in the room or maybe taboo, but these are things that are happening. You know, and I don’t think I said anything wrong.”

  • Liv Morgan Responds to Criticism on Promo About Released Talent

Liv Morgan Responds to Criticism on Promo About Released Talent

WWE superstar Liv Morgan has responded to fans’ criticism of her promo at Monday Night Raw on November 29. She is in a feud with Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch.

Morgan appeared on the Out of Character podcast with Ryan Satin to discuss her controversial promo segment. During the promo, Morgan said, “You’re the reason why your friend is gone, just like the reason why your big, fat greedy contract is the reason why my friends are gone.” The WWE edited the quote out of the youtube video.

Morgan explains why she didn’t say anything wrong and wasn’t out of malice in the interview. Morgan also shared that her friends were supportive of her segment.

WWE Releasing Talent for Budget Cuts

The WWE is having a controversial year in talent management. The company has released 80 wrestlers this year, and WWE claims their reasons for cutting talent are budget cuts. However, the WWE is also having a successful year with more live events and lucrative television contracts. Regardless, the WWE felt they needed to cut talent to be more profitable. It’s also unclear if WWE plans to have more budget cuts before the end of the year.

    The Future of Liv Morgan

Morgan is in her first singles championship feud in the WWE. She challenged Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship on Monday. Lynch retained her title with a roll-up while using the ropes for leverage. It’s unclear if Morgan will get an immediate rematch against Lynch for the championship. Although, the result of the match could lead to a rematch at Day 1 on January 1, 2022.

  • Update On What Top Superstars In WWE Are Paid

Update On What Top Superstars In WWE Are Paid

On WWE Raw this week, Liv Morgan implied that the reason her Riott Squad teammates had been let go from the company was Becky Lynch’s lucrative contract. The exact terms of Lynch’s contract are unknown, but she’s almost certainly making millions of dollars per year.

The salaries of top WWE stars was recently addressed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. According to Dave Meltzer, the top guys in WWE such as Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are making more than $5 million per year.

There is one other person who is believed to be making around $4 million per year. That could be Becky Lynch, although that is only speculation. Other top talent in the company make around $2 million or $3 million per year as well.

“Regarding contract sizes, the very top people (by this meaning Reigns and Lesnar) are above $5 million per year on their guaranteed deal and another person is at around $4 million, but a lot of the top talent is now at $2 million and some at $3 million,” wrote Dave Meltzer.

These figures are just their guaranteed dollar amount. It does not include their merchandise revenue or other potential bonuses as part of their contract.

Bianca Belair Opens Up About SummerSlam Loss: ‘It’s A Hard Blow”

The call of letting Becky Lynch squash Bianca Belair for the SmackDown women’s championship during her SummerSlam return has been one of the most controversial booking decisions from WWE officials this year.

The EST of WWE recently had an interview with Peter Rosenberg on Cheap Heat. Among other things, she opened up about the disappointing SummerSlam loss.

Bianca admitted that losing to Lynch in 26 seconds was a hard blow. She mentioned how the day was very chaotic and she felt like the title was snatched away from her very quickly. Though she also credited her husband for keeping her intact:

“SummerSlam, that was a day. That whole day was so chaotic. Everything was so last minute. This one sitting beside me here [Montez Ford] really kept me intact and constantly checked my perspective.

I was champion, and then to lose my title to Becky Lynch in 26 seconds,” said Bianca Belair, “It’s a hard blow, especially because I feel like I was just getting started and it got snatched away so quickly.”

The former women’s champion also discussed the aftermath of the show. She mentioned how she doesn’t usually look at people’s reactions online. However, her mother encouraged her to look at the comments supporting her after her loss.

Despite the unpleasant experience, Bianca Belair is keeping a positive outlook. She said that nobody can stop her from getting what’s for her and she will eventually get back to the top of the mountain.

  • Bully Ray Scoffs At WWE’s Idea Of Heel Becky Lynch

Bully Ray Scoffs At WWE’s Idea Of Heel Becky Lynch

Bully Ray doesn’t want WWE to continue to present Becky Lynch as a heel after Survivor Series.

This past Sunday (Nov. 21), Lynch shared the ring with her former close friend Charlotte. The two had a match that was highly praised and Becky ended up picking up the win.

Bully Ray Thinks WWE Is Force-Feeding Heel Becky Lynch

On the latest episode of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray said WWE should just let Becky Lynch continue to be embraced by the fans.

“Now we have Becky, who the people are behind. She looks great, she wrestles great, she does everything that I like. When she talks I’m into her.

“Why do I hate you, Becky? For what reason? You want me to hate you because you’re force-feeding a couple lines down fans’ throat that creative told you to say that absolutely, positively suck?

    “No, I don’t hate you. I don’t agree with the force-feeding.

“Last night, after her performance with Charlotte, what’s she gonna do? Come out tonight and say, ‘I didn’t need you fans behind me. I knew I could do it all on my own.’ Ugh, kill me now.”

    Emotional Post-Match Interview

Following her Survivor Series clash with Charlotte, Becky had an emotional post-match interview. Bully Ray feels fans are totally behind Becky, especially after that interview.

“When Becky starts to cry last night, when you see them overwhelmed with emotion, if you see somebody cry you feel for them.

“So, when I’m watching her get all welled up in emotion talking about her friendship with Charlotte and how now it’s come to an end, you know that it actually, truly, genuinely bothers her.

“She’s crying and in that moment in time you’re like, ‘Man, I really feel bad for this girl.’

“So, you want me to feel bad for her based on real emotion post-match but tonight you’re gonna write a bunch of gibberish on a piece of paper that makes me go, ‘Oh my god I hate Becky.’

“No, there’s no reason to hate Becky and I don’t wanna hate Becky just because you’re hoping and praying that I love Liv Morgan.”

At Survivor Series, WWE ran an angle where a special golden egg was stolen. In storyline, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has ordered roster members of both brands to attend the Nov. 22 episode of Raw.

Whether or not we’ll be able to see a bit more of the rivalry between Becky and Charlotte on this episode remains to be seen.

Watch: Becky Lynch Gets Emotional After Survivor Series

The long-standing history and the backstage drama that occurred beforehand made the Survivor Series clash between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair a very emotional encounter for both the competitors.

The Raw women’s champion was interviewed backstage after her match with Flair. She was asked if this was the most emotional match of her career. She replied by saying that she doesn’t know if she is happy or sad.

“Yeah, even watching the video packages, I got a little bit emotional cause to see where we came from to where we are now,” said Lynch. “And the hatred there, the hatred going out there. It’s so sad. That’s somebody who I loved so much. Who I trusted with my life. And we’ve been through everything together.”

    I’m the better woman

Lynch continued, “We nearly died in a car crash together and just how much we despise each other now. I just wanted to rip her apart out there. I wanted to rip her apart. I didn’t break her arm like I wanted to. Like I set out to do. And I don’t know if I’m happy or I’m sad about that. but I got the win. And now she knows. She can’t deny it. I’m the better woman.”

Becky Lynch picked up a victory in this encounter after stealing a trick from Charlotte’s playbook. She rolled her up for the pin using the ropes for advantage.

Vince McMahon has ordered talent from both brands to be in attendance for Monday’s Raw, so it’s possible we could see another chapter in this rivalry unfold.

  • Becky Lynch Tops Charlotte Flair at WWE Survivor Series

Becky Lynch Tops Charlotte Flair at WWE Survivor Series

WWE booked the biggest match possible with its top female talent in Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at the Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Brooklyn, New York.

Neither title was on the line. The match opened the show and they went straight into a fight. After brawling, Flair took over and beat her down for a few minutes before Lynch rallied back. At one point, Lynch locked in the figure four leg lock. Lynch pinned Flair with Lynch holding the ropes but the ref didn’t see it.

Last year’s high profile champion vs. champion match for the women featured Raw Women’s Champion Asuka losing to SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks.

Both stars changed brands in the draft, but to resolve the situation with their titles, the company decided to have a championship exchange segment on an episode of SmackDown last month where Lynch became Raw Women’s Champion while Charlotte became SmackDown Women’s Champion.

It was reported that Lynch and Charlotte had a legitimate backstage confrontation following the awkward title exchange.

Time will tell where the company goes with these two wrestlers heading into the Day 1 pay-per-view event in January from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

WWE Legend Compares Real-Life Heat Ahead Of Charlotte-Becky Lynch

The heat between Charlotte and Becky Lynch reminds one WWE Hall of Famer of his own experience.

Charlotte and Becky are scheduled to clash at the Survivor Series PPV on Nov. 21. Charlotte will represent SmackDown, while Becky is the gold standard of the women’s division on Raw.

There is some legit bad blood between the two former friends.

It came to a head on the Oct. 22 episode of SmackDown, when Charlotte reportedly went off-script during a title exchange segment.

The two were said to have been involved in a shouting match backstage. It was reported that Charlotte was escorted out of the building while Becky was gearing up for a dark match.

Jerry Lawler Recalls His Own Situation In Light Of Charlotte-Becky Beef

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Jerry “The King” Lawler compared issues he had with Bill Dundee to the beef between Charlotte and Becky Lynch.

“Oh without a doubt. That happens a lot but you try your best to kinda cover it up when you’re actually on the air or in front of fans.

“In my case, probably one of my best not only opponents but partners throughout the years was Bill ‘Superstar’ Dundee.

“I’m sitting at a table where I just happen to have these right in front of me. Here’s the AWA World Tag Team Championship. The only world tag team titles that I ever won and Bill Dundee was my partner during that.

“Also, we looked back and realized that Bill and I probably wrestled against each other almost 500 times. And that’s one that most people would not realize that Bill and I never had the best relationship.

“There was always a little, I don’t know if there was an animosity. I always felt it was like professional jealousy, so we never palled around or hung around each other at all and there was always that, I don’t want to say hard feelings but it was a strained relationship.

“I think that’s the situation that Becky and Charlotte find themselves in right now and I think a lot of that, we don’t want to admit it, but it is professional jealousy.”

Becky Lynch Watches AEW, Says She’s In Favor Of Competition

Becky Lynch isn’t shy in admitting she watches AEW.

Becky is one of WWE’s top stars. She is the current Raw Women’s Champion. Despite being a heel, she is constantly cheered and has reportedly been hailed as a bit of a backstage hero.

Becky Lynch Likes Competition Such As AEW

Much has been made over the “war” between WWE and AEW but Lynch is all for it. Appearing on The MMA Hour, Lynch said she has no problem watching AEW and views it as an alternative.

“I watch everything. Competition is great. It’s great for the creative because I think it drives everybody. I think Vince McMahon works incredibly well when he’s pushed by competition.

“I think for the stars it gives options. If you don’t like vanilla, you can go with chocolate. If you don’t like strawberries, you can go with butterscotch. There’s options for fans, for wrestlers, and yeah it’s great.”

“I consider them the alternative. Their product is different than our product. We offer a different product than they do.”

Becky Lynch will be busy this Sunday night (Nov. 21). She’ll be going one-on-one with Charlotte at Survivor Series.

There has been some legit bad blood brewing between Becky and Charlotte. Reports have said the two were involved in a shouting match backstage after a title exchange segment went awry.

Becky Lynch Buries Ric Flair, Says Charlotte ‘Purposely’ Disrespected Her

Becky Lynch is of the belief that Charlotte had every intention to disrespect her.

The title exchange segment that took place on the Oct. 22 episode of SmackDown didn’t exactly go according to plan.

It was reported by PWInsider that Charlotte and Becky were to engage in a tug of war with the Raw Women’s Championship but instead, Charlotte dropped the title. Becky then threw the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Charlotte.

Furthermore, it was reported that Becky and Charlotte engaged in a shouting match backstage. It’s been said that Charlotte was escorted out of the building as Becky had a dark match and WWE officials didn’t want things to escalate.

    Disrespect

Becky appeared on The MMA Hour and told Ariel Helwani that she feels Charlotte’s actions were done solely to make her look bad.

“There was a plan in place that was supposed to go one way and if it went one way then everyone would’ve had a moment and it would’ve been great.

“I, in the back, said, ‘This isn’t gonna happen. She’s gonna do something else.’ She did exactly what I said that she was gonna do.

“Sometimes things can happen out there and people can get carried away in a moment and you don’t have time to process what happens, but I knew that she was gonna purposely disrespect me.

“I processed it a lot quicker and so, I was able to hold it together until I got backstage. I did what I was supposed to do and then when I got backstage I lost it a little bit.”

Becky Lynch & Ric Flair Have Words

Ric Flair recently took to his Twitter account to express his excitement over seeing his daughter, Charlotte, take out Becky at Survivor Series.

Becky had a scathing response, referring to accusations hurled at Ric over the Plane Ride From Hell.

“It’s really sad, because this is a legend at one point, Ric Flair is now jealous of me, it’s cool for me, he’s now using me to get clout to promote whatever he has going on because he’s dug himself into a hole with other things.”

Becky Lynch Says She’s Open To Pursuing Hollywood Career

Becky Lynch is interested in working in the Hollywood industry after leaving WWE.

This week, Lynch went viral after some fans thought that she was spotted on the set of Marvel’s upcoming film, Black Panther. It was another female actor on set that reminded some of Lynch, but the rumor spread like wildfire and reached Lynch herself. She had an amusing reaction to the rumor, and responded with a meme on Twitter:

Lynch, however, does seem interested in working in films. In an interview with The Independent, Lynch said that she loves performing and after WWE she would be open to acting.

“Performing is what I love to do. Right now I love what I’m doing. I love this business, where I’m at, this challenge. I love putting little nuances into what I’m doing,” Lynch said. “I studied theatre, that’s what I got my degree in. That is something I would love to do when the wheels fall off. Just performing, being involved in entertainment, in general, is what I love and honestly, it’s the only thing I’m really good at.”

Lynch also revealed that she asked The Rock and John Cena for advice about transitioning into Hollywood.

“They are just so generous with their time. If ever I have a question or issue or worry, or something to run past them, they are so open and generous and there to help me out,” Lynch said. “When you’re at that level, when you’re that busy and you still check on the generation coming through, what incredible human beings they are.”

All I’ll say is, the locker room needs a hero sometimes, and sometimes somebody has to be that hero. I’m all right being that hero. That’s all I’ll say on that matter.”

Becky Lynch Unable to Trust Charlotte Flair Currently

She tried to avoid commenting more on her relationship with Flair. However, Traina asked her how she deals with working with someone with whom she has a problematic relationship within the ring. She wrestles Flair at Survivor Series on November 21st at the Barcley Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Lynch discussed how wrestlers have to trust each other in the ring and work together to entertain their audience.

“…When you have two people that are wanting to work together to make magic, then you make magic, said Lynch. She continued, “Sometimes when there is hostility when you can’t trust the person, then you never know what’s going to happen. And you always have to be on guard. It’s like a game of chess.”

Traina asked if she currently trusts Flair and if they were friends. Lynch responded by saying that she doesn’t trust her.

At one point, they were best friends. It’s unclear why or when their relationship became problematic. Flair hasn’t responded to reports of their relationship status.

Both wrestlers will have to work together through their problems in less than two weeks.

  • WWE Edits Title Exchange Between Charlotte & Becky Lynch

WWE Edits Title Exchange Between Charlotte & Becky Lynch

WWE had modified the title exchange segment involving Charlotte and Becky Lynch.

Much has been made about the title exchange that took place on the Oct. 22 episode of SmackDown. Charlotte was the Raw Women’s Champion, while Becky held the SmackDown Women’s Title. Since both competitors were drafted to the opposite brands, there was a title exchange.

Things Go Awry Between Charlotte & Becky Lynch

Things didn’t exactly go according to plan. Charlotte allowed the Raw Women’s Championship to drop to the mat but the script called for Becky to snatch the belt. Charlotte handed the title to authority figure Sonya Deville. Becky threw her SmackDown Women’s Championship at Charlotte, which was said to have been done differently than the script called for as well.

    WWE Edits Title Exchange Segment

On the encore presentation of SmackDown, Charlotte dropping the Raw Women’s Championship was edited out. Becky Lynch throwing her title at Charlotte remained.

PWInsider reported that Charlotte had expressed concern over the segment making her and the Raw Women’s Championship look weak before the fiasco ensued. It was said that Charlotte and Becky had a shouting match backstage but didn’t get physical.

In a follow-up from PWInsider, it was reported that Charlotte was escorted out of the building by a WWE official. The reason for this is said to have been because Becky was staying in the building for a dark match and officials didn’t want things to escalate even further.

  • Charlotte Flair Escorted Out Of SmackDown After Becky Lynch Confrontation

Charlotte Flair Escorted Out Of SmackDown After Becky Lynch Confrontation

The heat for the awkward SmackDown segment and the post-show confrontation between Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch is falling on Flair and not Lynch per the latest report. PWinsider, who broke the story, has provided more details on the aftermath of the situation. The new report reveals how people backstage feel about the surprising turn of events and who is being blamed.

Flair had been arguing against being made to ‘look week’ in the segment throughout the day. She is the one seen as the person responsible for the segment going off the rails. There is heat on The Queen in ‘certain circles’ for disrespecting Becky.

Becky Lynch, on the other hand, has no heat for the confrontation as there was no physical altercation between the two. The locker room saw it as The Man standing her ground and reaching the boiling point after being pushed too hard.

Some feel that Flair took the segment that was supposed to build a match between herself and Sasha Banks and put the attention back on her and Becky. People believed that the whole thing undermined Banks, who is being positioned as the top babyface of the SmackDown brand opposed to Flair.

Though the site has rectified the report about the script for the segments after it was revealed that Charlotte was supposed to play ‘cat and mouse’ with the belt. They confirmed the plans but added that Flair wasn’t expected to pull the belt away from Becky at any point. The segment was not rehearsed in advance or suggested to the talent for that matter.

Charlotte Flair Was Escorted Out Of SmackDown

The belief among people backstage is Flair pulling the title was done to make Lynch stupid. She would have had to pick up the belt after being ‘one-upped.’ This obviously didn’t happen as Sonya Deville made Flair hand the belt to her. Becky Lynch ended up throwing the SmackDown women’s title at her arch-rival, which was supposed to happen but happened ‘differently’ than originally planned.

The confrontation between the female stars happened in the gorilla position. Fightful select reported that Charlotte Flair was told to leave the building while Becky Lynch competed in a dark match. This was done to avoid further argument. The new report adds that Flair was escorted out by a WWE official.

Flair was said to be very upset coming out of the situation as well, though it likely wasn’t a strategy to get out of her contract. Charlotte has years left on her current deal. WWE is not likely to let someone they deem an important asset walk out of the company only for them to show up on TNT.

  • Charlotte Flair And Becky Lynch Had Shoot Confrontation After SmackDown

Charlotte Flair And Becky Lynch Had Shoot Confrontation After SmackDown

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch had a shoot confrontation after going off script during their title exchange segment on this week’s episode of SmackDown.

The Queen had raised concern about the championship exchange segment before the show went on air, according to reports from PWinsider.

Flair reportedly didn’t want to look weak herself or wanted her title reign to look week during the show. Though the segment went as planned despite her concerns.

The tensions grew when the Raw women’s champion went off script during the title exchange. There was a moment where she had to hand her title belt to her rival.

However, Charlotte Flair pulled the title and threw it on the mat away from Becky, which wasn’t the original plan. Sonya Deville demanded Charlotte to retrieve the belt and hand it to her, which she did.

The on-screen WWE official asked Becky to hand over her title as well, but The Man threw her belt at Flair instead, which was again not part of the plan.

Charlotte then picked up the SmackDown women’s title and did the mic work to set up Sasha Banks’ entrance. Things went as planned from there on with Becky teasing a potential match with Flair or Banks for Survivor Series.

After the show-closing altercation between Flair and Banks, Charlotte went to the back. This is where the face off between the two horsewomen took place.

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch had a confrontation over Flair allegedly disrespecting Lynch by “trying to make her look bad.” The two exchanged loud words but they didn’t get physical.

Stay tuned for more on this altercation.

Becky Lynch Keeps SmackDown Women’s Title At WWE Crown Jewel

Becky Lynch had the deck stacked against her storyline-wise when she put the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title on the line in a triple threat match against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event.

The match had a typical three-way flow to it and everyone got in their signature moves. At one point, Banks and Lynch applied both of their submissions at the same time to Belair. Later on, Lynch applied a double disarmer. Belair hit the KOD to Lynch only to be pulled out of the ring by Banks and once in the ring, Lynch rolled up Banks for the win.

In late July, Banks returned to WWE television to continue her feud with Belair after being off TV since the post-WrestleMania episode of SmackDown. Although Banks initially saved Belair from an attack by Carmella and Zelina Vega, after they teamed up, Banks turned against Belair and put her in the Banks Statement twice.

Banks was slated to challenge Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Title at August’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event, but Banks was pulled from the show due to unknown reasons aside from her not being medically cleared to compete. Instead, WWE brought back Lynch earlier than she intended to do so where she quickly beat Belair to win the championship.

Banks made her return by causing Lynch and Belair’s rematch to end in disqualification at Extreme Rules.

“It would be very powerful if we headline the show, this is the biggest match you can have in pro wrestling right now, regardless of gender.”

Becky Lynch On The Importance Of Their Crown Jewel Match

Becky Lynch will defend her title in a triple threat at Crown Jewel

The triple threat match at the Crown Jewel PPV will be only the third women’s wrestling match in the country. For the current champion, it will be even more special because it’s her first match in the region. Discussing the importance of the bout, Becky Lynch said that it’s very important:

“I think what’s very important, in a place like Saudi Arabia, is to show the women what’s possible, maybe pro wrestling catches a young girl’s eye. If we can have that effect on even one person, it’s huge. Maybe it’s not now, but for the future, you can dream and you can achieve. Now more than ever, that’s so important.”

Natalya and Lacey Evans were the first female stars to be allowed to compete in Saudi Arabia during the Crown Jewel 2019 event. Bayley and Bianca Belair then followed in their footsteps with the first-ever women’s title match from the country during the Super ShowDown 2020 event.

Becky Lynch Recalls Asking The Rock To Use The Rock Bottom

When Becky Lynch defeated Bianca Belair in just seconds at SummerSlam to win the Smackdown Women’s Championship, she used a variation of the Rock Bottom. During an appearance on the Out of Character podcast, Lynch recalled asking the Rock about using the move.

“I used a variation of the Rock Bottom before but it’s just easier to just get it and go,” Lynch said (transcriptions via Wrestling Inc.). “I asked The Rock if I could use it and he was very gracious and said I could.”

Lynch continued to say she called the Rock and he couldn’t have been more gracious.

“I called him, told him how SummerSlam was going to go down, and said ‘Here’s what I’m thinking, I’m supposed to hit one move on her [Bianca Belair], can I use this?’ He said ‘Yeah.’ There was more, he is so awesome and so gracious with his time and his advice. To be able to get advice from one of the best like that and somebody who’s so busy like that, it makes you feel very happy.”

The move is called the Man-handle Slam when Becky uses it.

Lynch was recently defeated by Sasha Banks on Smackdown on Friday night. It was the first singles match she’s lost by pinfall or submission since the Money in the Bank 2019 PPV. Charlotte Flair defeated her for the Smackdown Women’s Championship on that show.

  • Becky Lynch To Ronda Rousey: “Don’t Come Back”

Becky Lynch To Ronda Rousey: “Don’t Come Back”

Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey are both former RAW Women’s Champions and also new mothers. Lynch recently spoke with TMZ and was asked if she had any advice for Ronda Rousey about returning to the ring after recently giving birth as well. Lynch’s advice was for her not to return at all.

“Don’t [come back], cause I’m still on top, Ronda, you won’t like it. That’s my advice,” Lynch said during the interview.

Lynch returned at SummerSlam this year and defeated Bianca Belair for the Smackdown women’s championship in just seconds. She also spoke to TMZ about what life has been like since her return.

“It’s been crazy, Mike. It went from zero to 100 real quick. Coming back, and coming back on top after not wrestling for a year and a half. It’s been wild, but it’s been amazing. And, my baby comes along everywhere with me.”

Lynch was also recently on the Out of Character podcast with Ryan Satin. During that discussion she said she was optimistic that a singles match between her and Ronda will happen at some point.

“Yeah, and I do think it will. The fact that I’ve had a baby and came back so great that she’ll probably want to one-up me. She’ll try to come back in three months, then I’ll be right there to punch her right in the face, give her a Rock Bottom, out of here in 20 seconds, Ronda. So long, good night.”
