  • Becky Lynch Optimistic About Singles Match With Ronda Rousey

Becky Lynch Optimistic About Singles Match With Ronda Rousey

Becky Lynch is showing optimism over a potential singles match with Ronda Rousey.

At WrestleMania 35 back in 2019. Lynch took on Ronda Rousey and Charlotte to determine the undisputed WWE Women’s Champion. Going into the match, Rousey was the Raw Women’s Champion, while Charlottle held the SmackDown Women’s Title.

Becky Lynch ended up winning that match and becoming the “champ-champ.” Rousey hasn’t had another WWE match since.

Appearing on the Out of Character podcast, Lynch told Ryan Satin that she feels a one-on-one match with Rousey will eventually happen.

“Yeah, and I do think it will. The fact that I’ve had a baby and came back so great that she’ll probably want to one-up me. She’ll try to come back in three months, then I’ll be right there to punch her right in the face, give her a Rock Bottom, out of here in 20 seconds, Ronda. So long, good night.”

At the moment, Becky is busy feuding with Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks. Lynch is the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion. She will put that title up for grabs on Oct. 21 in a triple threat match against Belair and Banks. The championship match will be featured on the WWE Crown Jewel card.

Lynch made her return to the ring in August. She had been away due to pregnancy. Last month, Rousey welcomed her first child. Time will tell if Rousey will eventually get the itch to return to the squared circle. If she does, there’s definitely unfinished business with Becky.

  • Becky Lynch Defends Summerslam Squash Against Bianca Belair

Becky Lynch Defends Summerslam Squash Against Bianca Belair

Becky Lynch is justifying WWE’s decision to have her defeat Bianca Belair in a matter of seconds.

Becky made her surprise return at the Summerslam PPV back in August. Belair was expected to put her SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line against Sasha Banks. When Sasha was a no-go, Carmella stepped up, but Becky got her out the way quickly.

Belair was then challenged by Becky Lynch to put her title on the line at that moment. Belair accepted and was nailed with a cheap shot from Becky, who scored the pin in under 30 seconds.

WWE was under heavy criticism for the finish. Many believe it did Bianca Belair no favors to lose in that fashion on such a big stage. Many also criticized the decision to turn Becky heel, a move that was reportedly her idea.

Appearing on the FOX Sports’ Out of Character podcast, Becky told Ryan Satin that it was the right move to make.

“I know a lot of people were upset [about the squash]. Well, if we had a long match and then I beat her, then I just beat her. That’s not good for her. But if she’s robbed and she doesn’t expect it, then we want to see her succeed. I think we’re doing just fine.”

Becky will be defending the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Belair and Sasha Banks on Oct. 21. The title match will be featured on the WWE Crown Jewel show in Saudi Arabia.

After the Crown Jewel event, Becky and Belair will be members of the Monday Night Raw brand. Banks will remain on SmackDown.

  • Becky Lynch And Lita Teasing Confrontation On Raw

Becky Lynch And Lita Teasing Confrontation On Raw

WWE Hall Of Famer Lita and the current SmackDown women’s champion Becky Lynch are teasing a confrontation ahead of this Monday’s episode of Raw.

The Attitude Era star retweeted an article on her profile looking at five dream matches she could have with stars of the current roster. Not very surprisingly, one of the names on the list was of The Man herself.

Lynch took the time to respond to the wrestling veteran saying that she will like to send Lita off with a bad arm. Lita then teased a confrontation between the two:

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw will be airing live from Chase Center in San Francisco, California. It’s also where the former women’s champion resides.

Becky Lynch was moved to Raw during the WWE Draft. While the changed rosters do not come into effect until after the Crown Jewel PPV, there is nothing that can stop The Man from doing what she wants.

Lita was last seen wrestling in a WWE ring almost 3 years ago. She competed in a 10 woman tag team match during the October 29, 2018 episode of Raw.

Will you be excited for a Becky Lynch vs. Lita match in the future? Let us know your thoughts about a potential clash between these two below.

Smackdown Women’s Title Match Added To WWE Crown Jewel

WWE Crown Jewel will play host to a big women’s title match.

The promotion announced that a triple threat match between Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Sasha Banks will take place at the event on Oct. 21. Lynch is the reigning WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion and her gold will be at stake.

Here’s what WWE said in the announcement:

“Three of the best in the game will vie for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE Crown Jewel when Becky Lynch defends her title against both Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat Match.”

    Lynch vs Banks vs. Belair

Becky Lynch made her surprise return at SummerSlam back in August. She challenged Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Belair was initially set to meet Sasha Banks but “The Boss” was removed from the card. Bianca Belair accepted Becky’s challenge, only to get hit with a cheap shot and lose her gold in under 30 seconds.

Becky and Bianca ended up having a rematch at Extreme Rules. The match ended in a No Contest as Banks made her return and attacked both competitors. It all leads to the triple threat title match at Crown Jewel.

  • Sasha Banks Returns At WWE Extreme Rules

Sasha Banks Returns At WWE Extreme Rules

Becky Lynch made her first televised defense of the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair in a rematch, but the bigger news was the return of Sasha Banks.

It happened during the hour of the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in Columbus, Ohio at the Nationwide Arena. The match was fast-paced right from the get-go. Throughout the match, Lynch would go for the armbar and this was the story of the match as Belair continued to get out of it.

Belair went for her finisher, but Banks ran out and attacked Belair to cause the DQ. After Banks got done attacking Belair she went after Lynch. Banks hit Belair with the backstabber and so did it to Lynch. Banks stood tall.

Lynch made her WWE TV return last month at SummerSlam by defeating Belair in under 30 seconds to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Originally, Belair was supposed to defend the title against Banks at this show, but it was announced at the PPV that Banks wouldn’t be able to compete.

In late August, Belair became the number one contender by defeating Liv Morgan, Carmella, and Zelina Vega in a four-way elimination match on SmackDown despite the rule of champions getting an automatic rematch.

At first, Lynch refused to give Belair a title shot as Lynch declined to give Belair a title match. However, WWE authority figures Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce informed Lynch that she’ll be defending the championship against Belair at Extreme Rules. On the SmackDown episode from Madison Square Garden, WWE booked a contract signing for the match to make it official.

  • Becky Lynch On When She Found Out About Her SummerSlam Return

Becky Lynch On When She Found Out About Her SummerSlam Return

Becky Lynch made her surprising return at the SummerSlam PPV and in typical WWE fashion, she hadn’t been told about it a couple of days before the show. The SmackDown women’s champion recently had an interview with BT Sport. She talked about things such as her upcoming match against Bianca Belair and more.

When asked about her SummerSlam return and how it came together, Lynch revealed that she was clued in on Monday. However, Becky wasn’t entirely sure that she would be appearing on the show until a day before the event took place:

“So I actually really only knew what I was doing, probably, that I was going to have that match probably a day or two before. I got a call on Monday, SummerSlam happened on Saturday, that there was a possibility that I was needed to fill in for a match, but I didn’t know entirely until Friday,”

Becky Lynch also praised Bianca Belair saying that she is the most athletic woman WWE has ever had and claimed that her rival will have a bright future. Though this is not the only time The Man’s return had been discussed. She confirmed previously that the company had discussed plans for a WrestleMania return for her before those talks were nixed.

  • Becky Lynch Says Wrestlers Should Focus On Story More Than Moves

Becky Lynch Says Wrestlers Should Focus On Story More Than Moves

Becky Lynch returned to WWE at SummerSlam and promptly won the Smackdown Women’s Championship from Bianca Belair. She’ll defend her title this Sunday against the former champion at Extreme Rules. Ahead of Sunday’s title match, Lynch spoke with Metro UK. During the discussion, Lynch was asked about what she has learned throughout her career and the Man responded that one lesson she has learned is that connecting with a crowd is more important than wrestling moves.

“There’s so many lessons. One, I think, is that the connection with the crowd is the most important thing,” Lynch said. “It’s more important than moves, it’s more important than anything, being able to connect with an audience. I feel like that is something I got fairly early on – whether or not I was any good, it was just being able to connect with an audience.”

Lynch continued to talk about the importance of telling a story in a wrestling match and how this is what truly connects with an audience.

“And two, was story above all else. I think sometimes, as wrestlers who love wrestling, we want to have a good wrestling match in spite of story. Does that make sense?”

“It’s a story, and how that whole story makes you feel. And that’s what we do, we’re storytellers. I think I learned that fairly early on that that’s more important.”

Lynch is the inaugural holder of the Smackdown women’s title, having first won the belt in 2016. She’s held the title 4x, which ranks second all-time behind Charlotte Flair’s 5 reigns. Lynch has also held the title for 248 combined days, which ranks second behind Bayley’s 520 days with the belt.

  • Becky Lynch Confirms Initial Plans For Return At WrestleMania

Becky Lynch Confirms Initial Plans For Return At WrestleMania

Becky Lynch has revealed nixed plans for a return at WrestleMania 37.

Lynch ended up making her surprise return at WWE SummerSlam. She replaced Sasha Banks to challenge Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Lynch won the title in under 30 seconds after nailing Belair with a cheap shot following by a pump handle slam for the win.

Lynch had been out of action due to her pregnancy. She quickly found herself hitting the gym and getting back in shape. In fact, “The Man” revealed to talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy that she was even set to make her return at WrestleMania inside Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida back in April.

Ultimately, Becky Lynch didn’t appear at “The Grandest Stage of Them All.” Bayley didn’t even have a match at the PPV. Instead, she was involved in multiple segments on the show before being made to look like a fool courtesy of the Bella Twins.

Becky is currently embracing the role of a heel on television. She has done all she can to avoid a rematch with Belair. Lynch’s efforts were futile, however, as she will be putting her SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line against Belair at Extreme Rules on Sept. 26.

  • New Trademark Filed By WWE For Becky Lynch

New Trademark Filed By WWE For Becky Lynch

WWE continues to file trademarks and this time there’s a new one for Becky Lynch.

Lynch is the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion. She captured the gold in a surprise appearance at this year’s SummerSlam event. Becky nailed Bianca Belair with a cheap shot followed by a pump handle slam for the victory.

This marked the heel turn of Becky Lynch. She’ll be taking on Belair in a rematch at WWE Extreme Rules on Sept. 26.

With the heel turn comes a new trademark. Here’s a description of the United States Patent & Trademark Office filing.

“BIG TIME BECKS™ trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

Back in August, WWE filed a trademark for “The Man,” another nickname of Lynch. Ric Flair had been at odds with the promotion over trying to secure the trademark but both parties were able to work something out.

  • Becky Lynch: Big E’s WWE Title Reign Brings Hope To The World

Becky Lynch: Big E’s WWE Title Reign Brings Hope To The World

Becky Lynch thinks quite highly of Big E winning the WWE Championship.

Big E captured the gold when he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on the Sept. 13 episode of Monday Night Raw. The previous champion, Bobby Lashley, had successfully defended his title against Randy Orton. Big E capitalized on his opportunity and hit the Big Ending for the victory.

Appearing on WWE’s The Bump, Lynch discussed the significance of Big E’s title victory.

“E is the best. He has talked me off many a ledge, many a ledge when I was down and couldn’t get my foot in WWE, E was always there to make me laugh because he’s one of the funniest dudes you’ll ever meet, and be so kind and patient. He’s got this calming energy that when you sit beside him, he just makes you feel better and calm and hopeful. This new era of E in WWE brings a lot of hope to not only the company, the business, but the world.”

Becky Lynch is the current SmackDown Women’s Champion. She made her surprise return at SummerSlam, defeating Bianca Belair for the gold. After Big E’s victory, Lynch hopped on Twitter to congratulate the new king of Raw.

Big E likely isn’t done with Lashley. On Sept. 26, Extreme Rules will take place inside the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. While nothing has been made official, many expect the two to meet again at the PPV.

  • Becky Lynch Hopes To Be Bigger Than The Rock

Becky Lynch Hopes To Be Bigger Than The Rock

Becky Lynch is already one of the biggest stars in the pro wrestling industry but she is not satisfied with her position yet and she wants to be even bigger than the great one himself, The Rock.

The SmackDown women’s champion recently spoke to New York Daily. She talked about many things and also addressed the rumors that she was trying to break into movies before her pregnancy.

While she didn’t provide much detail, Lynch hinted that there are some projects ‘in the works’, before claiming that she wants to be even bigger than the people’s champion:

“I hope I can be bigger than The Rock and better than The Rock. The Rock is a good friend. The Rock is a great friend, but I’m on a different path and I’m different than The Rock and I’m not trying to be the next anybody. I’m the first Becky Lynch.”

Becky Lynch also commented on the reports about her character change after her return. She mentioned how everybody thinks she turned heel because of the way she defeated Bianca Belair at SummerSlam.

However, according to The Man, she doesn’t really understand the talk about being a heel. The current champion explained that she hasn’t changed and instead, she has just gotten smarter.

  • Paul Heyman Discusses Becky Lynch’s Heel Turn

Paul Heyman Discusses Becky Lynch’s Heel Turn

Paul Heyman has thrown in his two cents on the heel turn of Becky Lynch.

Lynch made her return to WWE after being away due to her pregnancy. She appeared at the SummerSlam PPV, challenging Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Lynch landed a cheap shot to Belair once she accepted the challenge and hit the pumphandle slam for the pin in under 30 seconds.

Heyman spoke to the New York Post and said that fans don’t have to settle on thinking she’s just a face or a heel.

“I’m not a big believer in the positioning of people as protagonists and antagonists, I think these personalities have multiple sides to them,” Heyman continued. “Events in life will change your perspective, demeanor and the way you address people. So, if there is a more coarse side of Becky’s personality that is now coming to the forefront and you’re a fan of Becky then embrace it and accept it.

“And if you just judge someone by their immediate actions and their short-term perspective then I guess you now have a villain for whom you can root against.”

Lynch has been refusing to give Belair a rematch but now she has no choice. At Extreme Rules on Sept. 26, Lynch will put her gold on the line against Belair.

As for Heyman, he finds himself in a tricky situation. Brock Lesnar made an unexpected return at SummerSlam, confronting Roman Reigns. For years, Heyman has served as Lesnar’s advocate. When Brock was away, Heyman aligned himself with Reigns.

  • Becky Lynch Responds To Criticism Over Heel Turn

Becky Lynch Responds To Criticism Over Heel Turn

Becky Lynch is aware of all the hoopla surrounding her heel turn.

Lynch returned at WWE SummerSlam back in August. Bianca Belair was set to defend the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks at the PPV. When Banks couldn’t compete, Carmella stepped up to take the challenge. She ended up getting tossed out of the ring by Lynch, who challenged Belair.

Lynch got the match but it didn’t last long. She nailed Belair with a cheap shot following by a pumphandle slam for the win in under 30 seconds.

This marked Lynch’s heel turn, much to the chagrin of many fans. Lynch responded to critics during an interview with the NY Daily News.

“I’ve just come back and now I feel like suddenly there’s this conversation that I’m not doing things the right way, but I don’t know what anybody expects me to do. Do you want me to come back and toy with Bianca and give her more of a chance to look like she’s got an opportunity? Or would I come back, knowing that I haven’t done this in a while, and be smart about it and blindside her?

Becky Lynch: I Just Got Smarter

She continued, “I just did what an intelligent person would do. If you haven’t been wrestling in a long time, then you’ve been strategizing. You’ve been strategizing because you haven’t been in the ring with this person, so then you are going to do something different. You are going to catch them off guard.”

Lynch questioned why she is suddenly considered the ‘bad guy’ because she came back better than ever. She doesn’t consider herself a heel. She simply believes she got smarter.

Becky Lynch is one of WWE’s most popular stars. She solidified herself as “The Man.” Despite turning heel, Lynch has been getting cheered at the shows she attends. Lynch had taken time off as she was pregnant. She was reportedly set to return in October but that got bumped up.

  • Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair Announced For WWE Extreme Rules

Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair Announced For WWE Extreme Rules

The first match has been announced for the upcoming Extreme Rules PPV.

Becky Lynch will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair at the show, which will be a rematch. Lynch made her big return at last month’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event where she beat Belair in under 30 seconds to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Belair was originally slated to defend the title against Sasha Banks at SummerSlam, but it was announced right before the match started that Banks wouldn’t be able to compete.

Belair became the number one contender to the title last week by scoring a win over Liv Morgan, Carmella, and Zelina Vega in a four-way elimination match This came after Lynch refused to give Belair a title shot on SmackDown. On Friday’s show, Lynch again declined to give Belair a title match, but WWE authority figures Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce came out to announce that Lynch will be defending the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Belair at Extreme Rules.

It was also confirmed that a contract signing for the bout will take place on next Friday’s SmackDown at Madison Square Garden, which will feature an appearance by Brock Lesnar.

WWE presents the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event on Sunday, September 26, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio at the Nationwide Arena that will air on Peacock.

  • Brock Lesnar’s Last-Minute Return Due To CM Punk’s AEW Debut (Report)

Brock Lesnar’s Last-Minute Return Due To CM Punk’s AEW Debut (Report)

CM Punk, Becky Lynch, and Brock Lesnar all returned to pro-wrestling after varying lengths of absences recently. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE brought back Brock Lesnar and may have sped up the return of Becky Lynch due to pressure to appease Fox after CM Punk debuted for AEW.

“FOX was very upset that WWE didn’t make a big offer to Punk to keep him from going to AEW, and politically, WWE felt the need to get Lesnar and Lynch to Smackdown right away,” wrote Dave Meltzer.

Fox and CM Punk are said to have a good relationship stemming from his time on WWE Backstage.

In terms of Becky Lynch, she was likely always returning at SummerSlam, anyway. For Lesnar, however, his deal was said to have been made very last minute. Meltzer noted that those close to the situation are “saying it was literally a last-minute deal that was put together for a number of reasons, all in some form related to FOX, C.M. Punk showing up in AEW and John Cena leaving.”

It was also noted that the reason Lesnar looked leaner than usual is that he did not have advanced notice he’d be returning. Both Lesnar and Lynch will be headed to the Smackdown brand with Lesnar challenging Reigns for the Universal title and Lynch now the Smackdown Women’s Champion after defeating Bianca Belair on Saturday.

  • News On Becky Lynch’s SummerSlam Appearance

News On Becky Lynch’s SummerSlam Appearance

Becky Lynch’s SummerSlam appearance has created both positive and negative buzz for WWE, especially due to Lynch’s quick win over Bianca Belair on the show.

Belair was originally supposed to face Sasha Banks. Since WWE had not changed the match until the show started, a lot of people wondered if The Man’s return was a last-minute decision made in response to CM Punk’s AEW debut.

Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast recently provided some updates on the situation. He noted that Becky Lynch was always going to appear on the show, though the title change was a last-minute decision:

“Becky Lynch was always gonna come out for this live crowd. That was not something that was last minute. The title change was the difference, that was something new. That was not planned…that was an adjustment, they made.”

WWE knew that Sasha Banks will not be able to make it to SummerSlam 8 days before the PPV.  So it makes sense that they adjusted the plans accordingly instead of completely changing their long-term booking for Becky Lynch.

Reports also suggest that the new SmackDown women’s champion herself made the decision to turn heel. Now it would be interesting to see how the company handles Bianca Belair after the big loss.

  • USA Network Not Happy With Becky Lynch And Brock Lesnar Joining SmackDown

USA Network Not Happy With Becky Lynch And Brock Lesnar Joining SmackDown

The two big SummerSlam returns in Brock Lesnar and Becky Lynch both got involved in feuds concerning the SmackDown brand upon their comeback. It appears that the officials from the USA Network are not very happy about it.

According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast, the NBC Universal and USA Network officials are ‘not thrilled’  with the fact that both the returning stars are now on the SmackDown side which airs on Fox.

Zarian noted that the network officials also had issues with Lynch and Lesnar not being booked for the post-SummerSlam edition of Raw.

The idea behind it was that John Cena made appearances on both brands recently while working a feud with Roman Reigns on the blue brand.

Though the WWE officials have assured them that with the WWE draft coming up in October, this situation is only temporary. The network executives are told not to worry as the company has plans to “shuffle the deck.”

There is no word yet on what changes WWE is planning to make to the roster to distribute the star power among both brands equally but we should get a better idea as the draft draws nearer.

Both Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar are being teased for this Friday’s episode of SmackDown. This will be both the star’s first SmackDown appearance since 2019.

  • Sean Waltman On Bianca Belair’s SummerSlam Loss: ‘This Ain’t It’

Sean Waltman On Bianca Belair’s SummerSlam Loss: ‘This Ain’t It’

Sean Waltman has thrown in his two cents on Bianca Belair’s controversial SummerSlam loss.

Belair entered Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada as the SmackDown Women’s Champion. She was expected to put her title on the line against Sasha Banks. Belair made her way to the ring when it was announced that Banks was unable to wrestle.

Becky Lynch made a surprise return and asked Bianca for a last-minute title match. Bianca accepted and Becky nailed her with a cheap shot followed by a pump handle slam for the three-count. The match didn’t make it to the 30-second mark.

During an edition of his Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast, Waltman expressed his dismay with how WWE booked Belair’s title loss.

“Bianca is on her way to being a MEGA star, and a lot of people are really emotionally invested in her. You can’t do that to people in this day and age,” Waltman pointed out. “You used to be able to do it. That’s why I was saying that was the old mentality, but everyone knows what’s going on. The fan base is incredibly educated, and WWE, I’ve heard them compare themselves to Marvel. Marvel, when it comes to fan service, they’re amazing. This ain’t it.

“You can’t sh*t on a huge portion of your fan base like that. I’m a huge Becky Lynch fan, really big. I was so happy with her run and when she got the bloody nose, cut the promo and all that sh*t, and I’m still a big fan. This did her no favors. It was just unbelievable. Bianca, she’s a thoroughbred. It’s just totally unbelievable that she would get beat that quick by anybody in that f*cking roster. MAYBE Nia [Jax].”

It has been reported by PW Insider that Lynch will be turning heel following her actions at SummerSlam. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter later reported that Lynch was the one who requested the heel turn.

  • Becky Lynch To Appear At Super SmackDown In MSG

Becky Lynch To Appear At Super SmackDown In MSG

Becky Lynch will be making her way to New York City.

Lynch made a surprise return at WWE SummerSlam this past Saturday night (Aug. 21). She took out Carmella and asked Bianca Belair for a SmackDown Women’s Title match on the spot. Bianca accepted and Becky nailed her with a cheap shot followed by a pump handle slam for the victory in less than 30 seconds.

The newly-minted SmackDown Women’s Champion is now being advertised for the “Super” edition of SmackDown inside Madison Square Garden in NYC on Sept. 10.

“BREAKING, ‘The Man’ Becky Lynch is back! See the new Smackdown Women’s Champion live in action when WWE Super SmackDown returns to The Garden on Fri, Sept 10.”

Much has been made over the return of Lynch, which was reportedly supposed to be held off until October before Sasha Banks was pulled from the SummerSlam card. Many believe that Lynch’s actions at the PPV event were heelish and didn’t do Bianca any favors.

As it turns out, the idea is for Becky Lynch to be a heel going forward according to PW Insider. Furthermore, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that Lynch requested that she returns as a heel and that request is being granted.

  • Becky Lynch Reportedly Requested To Turn Heel At WWE SummerSlam

Becky Lynch Reportedly Requested To Turn Heel At WWE SummerSlam

There has been a lot of criticism among fans regarding Becky Lynch turning heel. WWE tried to turn her heel in 2018 at SummerSlam following a match with Charlotte Flair, but that was rejected by the fans and she was turned into a mega babyface.

Lynch returned at SummerSlam to beat Bianca Belair in less than 30 seconds to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Dave Meltzer reported today that the heel turn was something Lynch requested and WWE officials signed off on the decision.

The booking decision was odd for fans to understand as Belair had been built up for months as a top star. Even Nikki Bella expressed unhappiness over the way Belair was booked.

Original plans called for Lynch to return to WWE TV in a few weeks as she hadn’t been seen on television in over a year due to her pregnancy.  However, WWE had to change course once Sasha Banks was not cleared for in-ring action to challenge Belair for the strap at SummerSlam.

This was after Banks not only missed live events the weekend before, but she wasn’t backstage at SmackDown or SummerSlam. The fallout from Lynch’s return and title change at SummerSlam will take place on this Friday’s SmackDown.

  • Becky Lynch Turning Heel for Bianca Belair Feud

Becky Lynch Turning Heel for Bianca Belair Feud

The return of Becky Lynch at Summerslam was a moment that caught everybody by surprise. Not only was there zero rumours or spoilers about her in-ring return, but she pinned Bianca Belair in 27 seconds to win the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

This booking has already caused a lot of commotion in wrestling communities. Many are saying that it does a huge disservice to Belair. A woman who went from ESPY award winner to a jobber in less than six months. However, it looks as if this could be part of a larger construct.

    Becky Lynch Heel Turn

Becky Lynch is one of WWE’s most beloved Superstars, but don’t get too comfortable cheering for her. According to PW Insider, who cited multiple WWE sources in their report, the plans are in place for Becky Lynch to play the heel role in her upcoming feud with Bianca Belair.

Becky Lynch has previously had a few heel runs with the company, but this decision would seem a little strange given the anti-hero role she was playing and held on to during her hiatus from the ring. You can’t help but wonder if this really is the best way to book the feud.

    Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair

Currently, Bianca Belair is a face who has done so much for her character despite very limited storytelling in WWE. However, the decision to turn Becky Lynch heel still doesn’t necessarily feel as if it is the right one.

The character of The Man dominated WWE headlines. The Stone Cold Steve Austin style rebel who didn’t care what people thought or felt. The Man, in many ways, transcended the heel/face stereotypes.

Either way, it would appear that creative minds have been set. The returning Becky Lynch is going to be the villain for the foreseeable future. Whether she will continue with her current moniker or change to something else also remains to be seen.

  • Becky Lynch Comments On SummerSlam Return

Becky Lynch Comments On SummerSlam Return

Becky Lynch made her triumphant return to WWE during the SummerSlam PPV. The Man went on to reclaim her throne and won the SmackDown women’s championship during her comeback.

The new champion was interviewed backstage after the show. She was asked how it feels to be back. She responded by saying: “The Man is back, and it feels good!”

Reports of Sasha Banks potentially being pulled from SummerSlam had come out a few weeks before the show but officials did not confirm it until the day of the event.

The match was still on until Bianca Belair made her entrance. She was only informed after she got in the ring that the boss will not be able to compete on the show.

It was then announced that Carmella will be replacing the former women’s champion in the SummerSlam match. Carmella came out for the fight but Becky Lynch made her return before the bout could start.

Lynch got in the ring and attacked Carmella. She replaced Carmella in the women’s championship match and Becky ended up defeating Belair in a quick fashion.

Other notable moments from the show include another massive return and multiple other title changes. You can check out the complete SummerSlam result at this link.

Becky Lynch Returns To Win WWE SmackDown Women’s Title At SummerSlam

The rematch of the WrestleMania 37 night one main event between Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Title didn’t take place at SummerSlam. However, fans did get to see Becky Lynch make her return at SummerSlam in Las Vegas, Nevada at Allegiant Stadium.

WWE announced that Sasha Banks was not cleared to compete. She was replaced by Carmella, who just lost to Belair on Friday’s SmackDown. Belair cut a promo about how eventually she will get Banks and until then, she would beat Carmella. This led to Becky Lynch returning.

Lynch attacked Carmella and the match started after Lynch challenged Belair. Lynch punched Belair and hit a power slam for the win to win the title.

WWE posted this video of Becky Lynch reacting to her surprise return at SummerSlam:

There had been conflicting reports about the status of Banks vs. Belair for over the last week as both stars missed last weekend’s house shows for an unknown reason. It was reported that both stars were cleared for SummerSlam, but Banks wasn’t featured on Friday’s SmackDown.

Lynch had been away from WWE due to her being pregnant with her first child last year. She vacated the title. There had been reports that WWE could add a Bayley talk segment to WrestleMania 37 as it had been discussed when an idea of Lynch driving a big truck was brought up for her return.

It was later reported that the reason Lynch didn’t return at WrestleMania was due to her not being ready at the time.

Update on Becky Lynch and her WWE Status

WWE Superstar and former RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has been out of action for over a year. The ‘Man’ revealed during the WWE Performance Center era that she was pregnant, and would be taking time off ahead of becoming a mother.

That was at the RAW following Money In The Bank 2020, and Lynch’s child Roux was born in December 2020.

Fans have been speculating as to when/if the former Champion would return, and Lynch herself has been trolling fans online by suggesting that she could appear at anytime, most recently at the WWE Money In The Bank 2021 PPV event, where she was actually in attendance and training.

There had been rumors of Becky Lynch making an appearance at WrestleMania 37 earlier this year as part of Bayley’s Ding Dong, Hello segment.

Those rumors are back, and with the Sasha Banks vs Bianca Belair match being in jeopardy having The Man return for a segment with Bayley might be the best alternative at this point.

Seth Rollins will be facing WWE Hall of Famer Edge at the event this Saturday on Peacock and WWE Network.

Banks attacked Belair to close out this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, with Zelina Vega and Carmella potentially joining Banks to form a new group, although this has not been confirmed officially.
