    — Beth Phoenix reportedly suffered a torn ACL that is expected to keep her out of action indefinitely.

    The reigning Women’s Champion initially suffered the injury at last week’s SmackDown television tapings when she worked a match with Rosa Mendes for WWE Superstars.

    As far as her Women’s Title is concerned, an angle will occur on tomorrow night’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown involving the belt.

    — Just before his release last month from WWE, Shelton Benjamin had gone back to college. He will be receiving his degree at the end of this semester from the University of Minnesota. Benjamin was a two-time All-American wrestler before being recruited alongside Brock Lesnar by Gerald Brisco to join the promotion in 2000.

    — Having passed 1,000 days as WWE Champion, John Cena is the fifth longest reigning champion in history, trailing Bruno Sammartino (4,040 days), Hulk Hogan (2,185), Bob Backlund (2,138) and Pedro Morales (1,027).

  • Beth Phoenix Reportedly Injured At SmackDown Tapings

    WWE Women’s champion Beth Phoenix was reportedly injured at Tuesday’s Smackdown TV tapings during a match taped for Superstars.

    Phoenix was working with Rosa Mendes in a singles match and reportedly went down with an injury. The match was ended abruptly and the referee did the “X” sign over his head.

    DivaDirt.com reports Phoenix was seen on crutches backstage after her match.

    This morning, Phoenix posted the following message on Twitter, indicating her “injury” may have just been a false alarm:

    “Thank you for the concerned messages…I am 100% just fine and as always in Glamtastic Fighting Form!!”

  • WWE Holding Nine-Man Match, Vickie Guerrero Wrestling, More

    — The WWE website announced that a Nine-Man Tag Team Match featuring the competitors of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania will be taking place on next week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

    Also announced for next week is a match between Beth Phoenix and Vickie Guerrero.

    — WWE World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho will join talk show host George Lopez on Lopez Tonight Tuesday night, March 23, at 11 ET/10 CT. The show airs on TBS.

    — This week’s edition of the POWER 25 has been released on WWE.com. WWE Champion Batista holds the top spot for the second consecutive week. It’s worth noting that Vince McMahon is listed on the chart at No. 23.

  • Beth Has Run-In With Police, CM Punk Sandwich Details, More

    — SmackDown Diva Beth Phoenix had a run-in with police last night while driving through Dallas, Texas. She noted the following on her Twitter account: “Just got pulled over while driving to Dallas by a Walker Texas Ranger wannabe. he wrote me a ticket. I gave him the Glamastare..he cried.”

    — Brie and Nikki Bella give their Super Bowl pick via video footage at the following link.

    They also gave their Super Bowl pick on Twitter, writing: “Wow SuperBowl Sunday! Feelin’ like a good day! We’re excited for both teams, but the Bella Pick is The Colts, Have a fun and safe SuperBowl!”

    Meanwhile, former WWE Diva Stacy Keibler picked the Colts to win 34-28. She told ESPN.com: “I think this game has the chance to be one of the most exciting Super Bowls yet. Two fantastic offenses vs. two underrated defenses. I am secretly rooting for New Orleans because I know Reggie Bush, but in the end, though, I think Peyton Manning’s experience will be the difference. I just don’t think that New Orleans will be able to stop him consistently.”

    — Former WWE performer Armando Estrada’s Baby’s Steak and Lemonade restaurant based in Glendale, Arizona has a sandwich called the CM Punk. Its description reads: “The Straight Edge Sandwich Wrestles Grilled Chicken Breast, Marinara Sauce, Provolone Served On Fresh Baked Bread.” The restaurant also has a sandwich called Big Vito.
