    Finn Balor Tweets Jinder Mahal

    Big E On Officiating Weddings

WWE Superstar Big E was interviewed on WWE.com about becoming an ordained minister. Here are a some highlights from the interview:

WWE.COM: So, what led to you offering yourself up as a wedding officiant?

“I recently learned that I would have a lot of time off. I really don’t do well with a lot of idle time. A couple of weeks ago, we just had WrestleMania, which kept me really busy. Then, we had about six days off, which was fitting, and then TV.

I’m ready to work. I don’t do well with idle time. My head was spinning, thinking “What am I going to do with all these days off?” I don’t really want to take a vacation. I’m bored just being in the house. I think I was talking about it in the locker room, [and] I actually have to give all credit to Enzo Amore. He came up with this idea. As soon as I heard it, I thought “This is kind of ridiculous, but kind of phenomenal, as well.” So, I gave it some thought, ran it by a couple of my friends, got their feedback. I couldn’t really think of a reason not to do it and got even more excited about the prospect.”

WWE.COM: What do you think makes you a good fit for this?

“I guess I’m hoping that people are excited to have me. I don’t want to walk into an awkward situation where just the husband or just the wife wants me there. I want it to be something where everyone involved is pleased with the outcome.

But anything specific? I could give you something sappy about people who are madly in love and want to be together forever, but it’s cool to be part of someone’s day. I had no idea how much interest there would actually be; I just threw it out there. I told Emilio that I wouldn’t be surprised if there were no serious requests, but there are a few. Now, we have to sit down and reply to people. I’ll probably find a way to call, Skype or FaceTime them so people know it’s real.”

If you wish to have Big E officiate your wedding, Big E sent out a tweet letting you know how to book him.

Big E accidentally hit AJ Lee during an episode of WWE RAW on April 8th, 2013.

AJ Lee was asked about the incident while promoting her book, Crazy Is My Superpower. Lee revealed that she messed with Big E after the incident. Lee described Big E as a “gentle giant” and stated that he was very sorry about accidentally hitting her. AJ took advantage of that and pretended to be severely injured from the incident. Lee then encouraged everyone to jokingly tweet at Big E and shame him for accidentally hitting her.

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross praised WWE Superstar Charlotte in his latest blog post. Ross discussed the impact of Charlotte moving to SmackDown and wrote the following:

“Charlotte is a great choice to build the SDLIVE Women’s division around as she’s potentially the Austin/Rock equivalent in the world of WWE women’s wrestling. Athletes, no matter their gender, don’t come along like @MsCharlotteWWE perhaps once in a generation, if we’re lucky.”

Big E Is Available To Officiate Your Wedding, Seriously

This is not a joke. Big E can officiate your wedding if your big day happens to be taking place in LA between April 20th to 22nd.

How Can Big E Legally Marry People?

Apparently anyone can apply for and receive a licence to marry people. This Boston Globe article goes into further detail about how many weddings are now being officiated by people who apply for one-day licenses to legally marry people.

Why would Big E want to do this? Big E’s manner of speaking and voice would make him a very entertaining addition to anyone’s wedding. Not a bad sidekick for 1/3 of the longest reigning WWE tag champs of all-time.

No word on if Big E has been contacted by Laurel Van Ness.

  • Backstage News On WWE’s Plans For The New Day

Backstage News On WWE’s Plans For The New Day

The New Day have been the WWE World Tag Team Champions for over four hundred and fifty days. They need roughly another forty days to break Demolition’s all time record, which they’ll do before the end of the year. After that, there isn’t anything left for them to accomplish aside from putting another tag team over.

Eventually, another team is going to dethrone The New Day and take the Raw World Tag Team titles away from them. The boost from that win is going to be a big deal for another team, but WWE has been delaying that moment until The New Day become the longest reigning tag team champions in WWE history.

According to a report from CageSideSeats, WWE officials have no plans to take the Raw Tag Team titles off The New Day anytime soon. They’re not planning on splitting up the trio, and it’s possible a split may not happen even after they lose the titles. That is leaving some confusion about what’s next for The New Day?

Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods all have the potential to break out as singles stars after the end of their stable. In particular, Kofi could springboard off the success of the stable into the WWE title picture, but it seems that WWE officials want to keep the trio going as long as the WWE Universe accepts them.

Big E Recalls Accidentally Striking AJ Lee On WWE TV

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXAHZXMoX8A

New Day member Big E recently spoke about accidentally striking former WWE performer AJ Lee during his ring entrance ago in 2013. The night after WrestleMania 29, Big E was set to take on Daniel Bryan and had AJ and Dolph Ziggler in his corner. On his way down to the ring, Big E swung his hands in the air as a way to prepare for the match and accidentally struck AJ in the chest. The former Diva of the Year took it in stride, glancing at Big E and moving on with the segment without breaking character. While she no sold it, Big E admits that he was very worried for her.

“That was, at the time, probably the most frightening moment in my career,” Big E said in an interview with the Rappler podcast promoting WWE’s tour of Manila, Philippines in September. “It probably still is.”

The reigning WWE Tag Team Champion also said he wasn’t sure where his errant blow caught Lee and was relieved she wasn’t injured.

“I remember swinging back and knowing that I hit her, and I was expecting to turn around, see this tiny woman on the ground in a pool of blood,” he said. “I don’t know what I would have done after that, probably just walk straight to the back. But thankfully, she’s very tough, it ended up hitting her, in, like, her chest or upper torso region, not her face, she was fine. We ended up having a laugh about it later but that could have been really bad, but thankfully, everything’s all good.”

  • Big E Reveals Which WWE Superstar He Would Add To The New Day, Talks MITB

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jBpNGmNvFk

In a promotional interview for this Sunday’s Money In The Bank event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Big E revealed who he would add to his crew if he had to.

In an interview with VegasSesven.com, The New Day member claims that he, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods always saw their group as a faction that would expand beyond the original three members. Big E says that although he thinks the group is a perfect fit right now with just the three of them, he would add Sasha Banks to the mix if he had to choose a fourth member.

“We’re all such big Sasha Banks fans—I think she would add a different dynamic, though she’s such a strong, beloved character that I don’t think she needs to be surrounded by anyone,” Big E said. “But if we were forced to pick someone, it would be Sasha Banks.”

Big E also talked about Money In The Bank, and said he’s excited to see Seth Rollins bounce back from his knee injury, and says Cena vs. Styles is a match fans have waited a very long time to see. You can read his entire interview here.

Big E Says New Day Is Planning A Special Entrance For WrestleMania

WWE tag team champion Big E recently spoke with Guide Live to promote next month’s WrestleMania 32 pay-per-view. During the interview, Big E revealed that the New Day is working on something big for their entrance at WrestleMania, but they’re not 100% certain it’s going to take place.

“We’ve already kind of started getting people excited about our entrance – which I’ve kind of wanted to temper expectations, but we had some media hits this morning, and Woods and Kofi were already telling people to look out for our entrance. So, I suppose our WrestleMania entrance is the big plan. There’s a good chance that it all gets nixed, and people are very disappointed, but we have something cooking.”

He also revealed that there are two WrestleMania matches in particular that he’s most looking forward to.

“Shane and ‘Taker, for sure. I think that’s such an interesting matchup with so much on the line that a lot of people will have their eyes turned to that one. And also, I’m really excited to see what the women will do. I’m not sure what that match will be. If I had to guess, I’m assuming, possibly it looks like maybe we’re looking at a triple threat for the Divas title – Charlotte, Becky, and Sasha appears to be lining up. There’s a decent amount of pressure on those women with the whole ‘Diva’s Revolution.’ I think a lot of people are excited to see what they do to represent for all the talented women in wrestling.”

  • Big E. On Wanting To Work With Brock Lesnar, Best Tag-Team In NXT & More

Big E recently spoke with Mlive.com to promote the December 26th WWE live event in Detroit at the Joe Louis Arena. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On keeping an eye on NXT:

“I think the three of us tend to look at NXT. I think it’s always important to look at the future of the company. We are excited about giving a younger team an opportunity. There’s a lot of great teams in NXT, but if I had to pick one, I’d say Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady might be the best. I think they’d provide a different rivalry for us.”

On who he would choose to wrestle that he hasn’t faced yet:

“I’ve been around long enough for the most part that I’ve wrestled mostly everyone. I haven’t wrestled Big Show yet. I think Brock Lesnar stands out as a big name. If I had to choose one person to wrestle who I haven’t wrestled yet, it would be Brock.”

On his “Five Count” gimmick in NXT and working with The New Day:

“I had a lot of fun doing the five count thing in NXT. It was a crowd favorite baby face role. But, what we’re doing now has been the best time of my career as far as visibility and progression and just enjoying it. I feel like we are uninhibited and having a lot of fun.”

  • Big E Says New Day Is Working On Some Wild Ideas For WrestleMania

WWE tag team champion Big E recently spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News about the success of The New day and why fans did not buy into the group at first. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

    WrestleMania 32:

“Honestly, the ideas that we said we can’t do right now are probably going to come at some point. We’ve got some wild ones for WrestleMania and obviously I can’t spoil any of that stuff. All the wild ideas that we have, there’s a chance that at some point we can fool someone into allowing us to do down the line.”

    The success of New Day:

“What’s been really rewarding for us is knowing how hard it has been for us to get this off the ground,” Big E said. “We always believed we had the ability to move people the way we have as of late. It’s just a matter of being able to get that window. The last few months, 5-6 months, have been truly rewarding. Obviously, we’re having a blast and I think that shows.”

Fans not buying into the group at first:

“I get a lot of people’s lack of optimism at first,” he said. “When we were first met with the idea, we looked at each other and wondered how we were going to make this work. I think the biggest takeaway is being patient. I think a lot of times with our fans, I think a lot of people were very quick to dismiss what we were. And I get why. I think often times it’s just a matter of being patient with an act; letting it evolve, letting it grow and seeing what it becomes. We were glad we were given enough time to make it work.”

  • Big E. Talks About His Pre-WWE Athletic Career, Dealing With A Number Of Injuries

WWE Tag Team Champion Big E. (Ettore Ewen) of The New Day recently spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News about his days as an amateur wrestler for the Iowa Hawkeyes and dealing with a wie variety of injuries prior to coming to WWE. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On his undefeated Iowa Hawkeyes facing Michigan State for the Big 10 championship:

“I don’t think a lot of people really predicted it to be a 12-0-type season but it’s very cool to see. It’s one of the toughest Iowa teams that I can remember seeing. It’s pretty remarkable so I’m quite proud to go out and watch these guys play their best and deal with a lot of difficulties and adversity.”

On his football playing days with the Hawkeyes:

“I have to use the term ‘the best of times, the worst of times. Worst of times mainly because it was very frustrating dealing with all of the injuries. I tore both of my ACLs. I broke my right patella. I tore my left pec, all within about a 2½-year span. That was very frustrating. But it was a dream come true for me. The first thing I wanted, looking back, being a child, was being a football player. That was my very first dream and getting to live that was really cool.”

On finally making it onto the field during the 2006 season as part of the defensive line’s second unit:

“That year, I believe we played Ohio State when they were No. 1 in the nation,” he said. “The week of, I remember the amount of hype. I believe we were No. 12 in the nation at the time. Things didn’t end up going our way the rest of the year; we finished 6-7. But the atmosphere of that game was really cool. We played Michigan at the Big House when they were No. 2 in the nation. We had some pretty big moments.

“Those are things that I’ll take with me to the grave.”
