WWE has once again changed the scheduled lineup for their final “Holiday Week” live events at the end of December.
The new main event for the WWE live event on December 28th in Newark, New Jersey is John Cena and Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio in a tag-team match.
Originally, WWE was advertising Cena vs. Del Rio as a singles match, and later Cena vs. Randy Orton as a singles match, but the latest advertisements are promoting the aforementioned tag-team match.
The new tag-team main event is an addition to a card that will also feature Big Show vs. Kane in a steel cage, with WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T serving as the special guest referee.
– Celebrating birthdays today are WWE United States Champion Dean Ambrose (28), WWE Hall of Famer Tammy “Sunny” Sytch (41), and former WWE Superstar Curtis Hughes (49). Plus, today would have marked as the fifty-fifth birthday of WWE Hall of Famer “Ravishing” Rick Rude; he died at the age of 40 on April 20, 1999 due to heart failure.
Sytch, who is currently undergoing treatment for cervical cancer, remarked the following on Facebook on Friday, “Well, the day turned out not as I had planned… The easiest part should have been getting my epidural, but instead, I almost passed out in the table. My pre-op appt and pre-op testing went smoother and faster than I was imaging. That shot hurt like s**t this morning!!!”
– This week’s “Raw Slam of the Week” features the return of Sin Cara, while the tandem of Big Show and Rey Mysterio are highlighted in the “SmackDown Slam of the Week.”
– Zeb Colter’s insults are in the running for “Insult of the Year” at this Monday’s 2013 Slammy Awards (with Stephanie McMahon insults Big Show AJ Lee goes off on Total Divas and Paul Heyman’s insults toward CM Punk). – WWE’s storyline with the Big Show and Triple H has been dropped. At one point, there was talk of them wrestling at the Royal Rumble, but Big Show was brought back to television early and wrestled Randy Orton at Survivor Series. Big Show has already been moved out of the Authority storyline – and competed in an unrelated 6-man tag match last night on RAW.
– WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley appeared on the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom radio show this morning. It will be be replayed at BobandTom.com later this afternoon.

– WWE Superstars Big Show, Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio are being advertised to work at the December 30th WWE live event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and the live RAW on the same night (December 30th) in Richmond, Virginia. WWE Superstar John Cena is also being advertised for the WWE live event in Toronto on December 30th, so if those advertisements are true, he will not be appearing on RAW that night in Richmond.
– According to one source, the reason that WWE booked Ryback to hit his finisher on Big Show on WWE RAW a few weeks back, only for Big Show to kick out and then beat Ryback moments later with his Knockout Punch, was possibly due to their frustration over Ryback using Bill Goldberg’s spear and jackhammer during a recent match without getting permission ahead of time.
– As we recently reported, Jim Ross promised to make a “major announcement” this coming Monday. We noted that the announcement involves his plans for his one-man shows coming to the United States, with New York City likely being his first stop. The rumored venue is The Gramercy Theater, with the rumored date being March 1st.
According to one source, there is said to be a lot of panic backstage in WWE right now regarding creative plans.
When the call was made to switch Daniel Bryan and Big Show in the WWE title picture, the idea was Big Show vs. Randy Orton in a main event match at Survivor Series, with them following up at the TLC pay-per-view with a Big Show vs. Triple H match. Plans then changed to have Orton vs. Big Show in a tables match, which is why Big Show chokeslammed Orton through the announce table on RAW a few weeks back.
At one point, there was an idea floating around that John Cena would feud with Big E. Langston for the World Heavyweight Championship, with Langston turning back heel. When Survivor Series was over, both of those matches were scrapped and the new TLC main event ended up as Cena vs. Orton for both of the titles. As recently reported, there is now talk of having that match serve as a unification match, despite originally not intending to unify the titles.
As far as the creative team is concerned, one WWE source noted that they are “burnt out and scared of who might not be there too much longer.”
Here’s the latest installment of “The YES! & The NO! of WWE RAW.” I may have a different perspective than you since I was live at Raw this week at The Nassau Colosseum! Comment below and tell us how you like the column and if you agree with this week’s picks.
Daniel Bryan & CM Punk cut a promo before facing The Wyatts
The obligatory rematch between The Wyatts and Daniel Bryan & CM Punk, took place on Raw. First a promo from “The Beard & The Best” CM Punk discussing team names, and asking questions allowing Daniel Bryan to answer them with a “Yes!”. Daniel Bryan got a chance to say more than just the three letter word that will follow him for the rest of his career.
I love Daniel Bryan, and so does the crowd. In fact you could hear Daniel Bryan chants during the opening segment, proving once again that this demotion was not “Best For Business” But more on that in the “NO!” section.
Any match can be enhanced with the crowd behind you. When you have top stars like CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, the two most over Superstars at Raw, it can add just that little more energy to the match.
CM Punk made a comment about Triple H and the authority in the opening promo, and wouldn’t know it after Daniel Bryan was “Kidnapped” by the Wyatts. CM Punk was laid out by The Shield. I wonder if that marks the end of Daniel Bryan and CM Punk together, because I was enjoying that. Time will tell.
Who would have thought Goldust would be having great matches alongside his brother in 2013!
The Shield vs The Rhodes and Rey Mysterio
I have never been a fan of Tag Teams growing up watching the WWE. I must say however, though all the missteps, and bad booking since SummerSlam, The WWE has a great tag team division. This, of course includes The Shield and The Wyatt factions. Day in and day out these teams from The Veteran Golddust, to newer WWE talent in The Shield and The USO’s, are having great matches. I am thoroughly enjoying watching these teams work.
The Kosher Butcher!
The Kosher Butcher Superstars for Sandy Relief Auction winner, ” Charlie Tebele was interviewed by Jerry “The King” Lawler. When asked if he were to be a WWE Superstar, what would his name be. Charlie was prepared, with a blue T-shirt and a great gimmick “The Kosher Butcher” He even went as far to come up with his finisher, The Circumcision! At first the crowd didn’t know what to make of this. Not sure if this was shown on TV, but The Kosher Butcher had at least a dozen of his friends and family at Raw, all wearing their Blue shirts! Great stuff. Half way during the Xavier Woods match, and some further thought, the crowd broke out into chants of both “Kosher Butcher” and “Circumcision”, add that to the list of most bizarre Raw chants.
Great Stuff.
Hit up Page 2 below for the “NO!” of this week’s WWE RAW:
WWE.com has published a storyline update on the Big Show’s condition following the “repeated head trauma” he suffered in the main events of Survivor Series and RAW.
WWE’s ringside physician Dr. Chris Amann told WWE.com that Big Show “did sustain some head trauma from Randy Orton’s punt. Thankfully, at that time his neurological exam was normal. He passed all of his impact testing, and he was able to get in the ring without any headaches, dizziness or problems at that time.”
The trauma that would have caused a concussion in another competitor,” he explained, “did not, in fact, cause any concussive symptoms in him.”
The article states that Big Show underwent a full medical evaluation after RAW.
“The trauma Big Show sustained Monday at Raw did, in fact, cause concussive symptoms,” said Dr. Amann. “At this point, we are doing further testing, and he is currently not cleared to participate in any in-ring competition.”
To sell the injury storyline, Big Show did not compete at Tuesday’s WWE SmackDown tapings.

The following are highlights from the latest online blog by WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross:
On tonight’s WWE Survivor Series main event: “Orton vs. Big Show for the WWE Title….I’d expect some sort of a ‘Boston Screw Job’ at Survivor Series especially with Bret Hart on the HOF TV panel. Plus, remember when Bret got shafted at Survivor Series versus Bob Backlund. Just seems as if it’s too easy to not cheat Big Show out of the title and to add much needed heat to Orton and the ‘Authority’ personas. Nice place here for the Shield to circle back through the PPV.”
On “yes-men” backstage in wrestling: “To hear those that are in positions of authority silently nod in agreement at all of upper management’s concepts or suggestions and then gather amongst themselves to bitch and complain is disheartening. Those offenders will tell you that they’ve just trying to keep their jobs which is more often than not sadly true.”
On a Survivor Series memory involving Bobby Heenan and Gorilla Monsoon: “One of my favorite Boston, the site of tonight’s WWE Survivor Series, memories with WWE saw me sharing a small dressing room in the old, Boston Garden with Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan. The Brain would hide Gorilla’s suspenders, socks, etc in the non air conditioned cubby hole that we were sharing. At just the right time, before the ‘Big Ape’ exploded, ‘Wease’ would refrain from angering the giant of a man any further. It was all about ‘timing’ and no one had better timing than Bobby Heenan.”

– According to reports, Big Show’s knee was said to be doing much better on Monday. Show reportedly tweaked the knee on Saturday, which is why he was noticably limping so bad on Sunday.
– Apparently the reason Fandango wore a Union Jack on RAW is due to the belief within WWE that the European fans caused the “Fandangoing” craze on the post-WrestleMania edition of RAW. WWE was playing into that audience on Monday in Manchester with the idea that he would come off as a huge star on television.
– The Washington Post reported today that the NFL’s Washington Redskins are now selling a championship belt:
Day seven of the WWE European tour continues on Tuesday with half of the WWE roster remaining in Manchester, England for the WWE SmackDown and WWE Main Event television taping, while the rest of the roster travels to Newcastle, England for a non-televised live event.
Announced already for the SmackDown television taping is an arm-wrestling contest between World Heavyweight Champion John Cena and former champion Alberto Del Rio. The two will continue to hype their upcoming title rematch at the WWE Survivor Series on Sunday, November 24th.
Confirmed for the WWE Main Event portion of the television taping is a WWE Divas Championship match between current title-holder AJ Lee and Natalya.
Also official for the SmackDown television taping is an appearance of WWE Superstar CM Punk.
Unless WWE continues their recent trend of false-advertising, you can count the following Superstars out of SmackDown and Main Event on Tuesday: Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz and The Shield. Orton vs. Bryan is advertised as the main event for the WWE Championship at the live event in Newcastle, as well as a six-man tag-team match featuring Big Show, Dolph Ziggler and The Miz vs. The Shield.
Make sure to check back here at the website on Tuesday afternoon for live play-by-play spoiler results of the WWE SmackDown and WWE Main Event television taping.
– As previously reported, WWE Superstar Big Show was seen limping around in Cardiff, Wales on Sunday and his match with Randy Orton on the show was cut short. According to updated reports, Big Show is backstage in Manchester for tonight’s RAW and is said to be in much better shape than he was on Sunday.
– UK-based wrestler Kris Travis will be receiving a tryout match against Tensai at today’s WWE television taping in Manchester, England. Travis is 6’1” and just under 210 pounds. Travis is from Sheffield and is said to be one of the better independent pro wrestlers in the U.K. currently.
SEScoops.com reader Josh Wilding attended the November 10th WWE Live event in Cardiff, Wales and sent in the following videos:
At the end of the WWE Championship match between The Big Show and Randy Orton at WWE Live in Cardiff, Kane came out and distracted Big Show, allowing Orton to RKO him and pick up the win. Minutes later, The Shield attacked Show, and this is what happened next:
– The Big Show is currently working through an injury and was seen limping at yesterday’s WWE live event from Glasgow, Scotland. No word yet about the severity of the injury but he’s not expected to miss any ring time. Reader Andy sent in the following live report describing Big Show’s injury:
“At the live event in Cardiff (Wales), Big Show is not 100 percent. He was heavily limping on his way to the ring, looked in pain, and was stretching his right leg a lot as well as running the ropes during Randy Orton’s entrance for the main event.
Before the match, Show gave a hand signal to someone ringside implying he was 50/50. It’s his left side or leg, but the pain was clear to see.”
– British wrestling legend Robbie Brookside is now working as a trainer for WWE at their Performance Center. Previously, he had been working with WWE scouting European talent and he will continue those duties as well.
– WWE producer Billy Kidman has been appearing at WWE’s overseas live events tour, acting as Paul Heyman’s personal physician in segments where CM Punk attacks Heyman.
Speaking of Heyman, he might be returning to WWE television on tonight’s RAW.
– Camera crews from The Travel Channel were at Hogan’s Beach Shop in Clearwater, Florida on Saturday evening filming footage of WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan for a future piece on their channel.
– As previously reported, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan did not appear at the WWE live event in Birmingham, England on Saturday. As noted in our complete live report from the event, WWE Superstar Randy Orton jumped on the microphone during the main event and told the fans who were boo’ing and chanting Bryan’s name that he was not in attendance, and to basically get over it.
Apparently WWE Superstar Big Show, who was Orton’s opponent at the show, got on the microphone after the match to thank the fans and apologize to them for the absence of Bryan.
– WWE NXT stars Conor O’Brian and Rick Victor have been re-named, according to their respective Twitter accounts. On the social media platform, O’Brian is referring to himself as Konnor (@KonnorWWE) and Victor is now Viktor (@ViktorRiseWWE). Together, they appear as The Ascension.
– This week’s WWE Classics On Demand updates are as follows: The New and Improved DX (Parts 4,5, and 6), New World Order: The Revolution, World Wrestling Federation action at Nassau Coliseum (June 10, 1989), AWA All Star Wrestling (November 7, 1981), ECW Hardcore TV (November 13, 1998), Stampede Wrestling (May 1979).
– The latest issue of WWE Magazine features Big Show, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, John Cena and The Miz on the cover. The headline reads: “SUPERSTARS UNITED! WHO’LL BE THE FACE OF WWE IN 2014?”
As previously reported, WWE is putting added emphasis on larger Superstars in recent weeks. This is apparently the reason we’ve seen a push for Big Show to the main event level, as well as the reason behind his match with Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view on November 24th. Additionally, the large-guy-push in WWE is the reason for the added television exposure of guys like Luke Harper and The Great Khali.
A lot of the blame, as far as WWE is concerned, belongs to the recent attempt to push Daniel Bryan to the top. Bryan is getting the blame by WWE management for the recent drop in pay-per-views, as they feel they gave him a shot in the top spot for the last few months-worth of pay-per-views, and they consider the buyrates dropping to be a direct result of trying to push a smaller guy as opposed to a larger guy, which WWE feels the fans want these days.
-As of this past week, the plan in WWE is to put Roman Reigns on the “fast-track” to becoming a babyface. The feeling among WWE officials is that Reigns has the potential to be one of the next big Superstars for the company. Recently on RAW, WWE specifically put Reigns in a position to get people to pop for him by having him hit an impressive-looking spear on Big Show.
-Speaking of spears, WWE has added a new video called “Most Devastating Spears!” to their official YouTube channel. You can watch the new video, with the aforementioned Reigns spear on Big Show included as part of the package, directly below:
-The main event angle on Monday’s edition of WWE RAW saw WWE Superstar Big Show get re-hired by WWE COO Triple H, ending what was probably the shortest “banned for life” sentence in WWE history. Additionally, Big Show was guaranteed a WWE Championship match against Randy Orton at the upcoming WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view.
-Daniel Bryan was officially removed from the WWE Championship picture. As noted, Big Show will receive the next shot at the title, with Bryan now positioned in a feud alongside CM Punk against The Wyatt Family.
-Paul Heyman re-emerged on RAW on Monday in the form of a live telephone interview with RAW announcer Michael Cole. Heyman claimed multiple injuries suffered at the hands of CM Punk at the WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, and was reportedly scripted to say that he was getting medical treatment in Europe, which is where next week’s RAW will take place.
For more news from this week’s RAW, you can read our detailed report of the show here: WWE RAW Results (11/4/13)
WWE will tape their weekly Main Event and SmackDown television programs tonight in Charlotte, North Carolina, before heading out for their bi-annual European tour on Wednesday.
The main event for this week’s SmackDown, as announced on WWE RAW on Monday night, is Daniel Bryan vs. Luke Harper.
Also announced on Monday’s RAW was a match pitting the current Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel against Big E. Langston, in a match that was originally slated to serve as the Kickoff Show match prior to the WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view in late-October.
World Heavyweight Champion John Cena was advertised on RAW as appearing on this week’s SmackDown for the second time in a row, as he will continue the build to his rematch against the former champion, Alberto Del Rio, at the upcoming WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view.
In addition to the aforementioned WWE Superstars, the following names are being advertised locally for the SmackDown and Main Event television taping in Charlotte are Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Randy Orton, Big Show, The Shield, The Wyatt Family, Dolph Ziggler and Wade Barrett.
The post-show dark match scheduled for the taping tonight is John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship. That match, which also served as the dark match main event at RAW in Greenville, South Carolina on Monday night, is subject to change.
Make sure to check back here later tonight for complete WWE Main Event and WWE SmackDown spoiler results.
Following the conclusion of the televised portion of Monday’s edition of WWE RAW in Greenville, South Carolina, trainers and medical staff came out to check on the condition of Big Show, who was triple-powerbombed through the RAW announce table by The Shield.
Meanwhile, WWE COO Triple H, “one of the principal owners of WWE” Stephanie McMahon, WWE Champion Randy Orton, the new corporate Kane and all three members of The Shield faction celebrated and posed together at the top of the ramp.
World Heavyweight Championship: -John Cena (c) defeated Alberto Del Rio
-After the Big Show chaos died down, former World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio came out. Del Rio got on the microphone and demanded a title shot rematch against current champion John Cena. This led to Cena coming out. Cena did a mock-introduction for Del Rio before defeating him in the actual match. Cena picked up the win via pinfall after hitting Del Rio with his Attitude Adjustment finishing move.
Winner and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: John Cena
And that was it from Greenville, South Carolina for this week’s RAW. Next up are the WWE Main Event and WWE SmackDown television tapings, which will be held on Tuesday night in Charlotte, North Carolina.
