Wade Barrett Out 6-8 Weeks, Ex-WWE Stars Criticize Aksana

— WWE.com reports Wade Barrett suffered a partial dislocation of his left elbow during the 10-Man Battle Royal on Raw. He will undergo an MRI for further evaluation this week and will be sidelined for at least 6 to 8 weeks.

The injury occurred following Barrett and R-Truth’s elimination from the match. As Truth and Barrett recovered from their eliminations on the outside, Big Show tossed Dolph Ziggler on top of them from the ring. They were knocked backwards and Barrett landed awkwardly on his arm.

— Two former WWE stars gave Aksana a negative review for her match against Nikki and Brie Bella on Raw. Gregory Helms wrote on Twitter, “Geez, Askana is …. not good.”

Lance Storm said in response to Helms, “Understatement of the Century.”

Barrett Suffers Dislocated Elbow During Raw, Other Stars Hurt

Wade Barrett suffered an injury to his left arm during the 10-Man Battle Royal on Monday’s Raw SuperShow. After being taken to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation, he has been diagnosed with a dislocated elbow.

The injury occurred following Barrett and R-Truth’s elimination from the match. As Truth and Barrett recovered from their eliminations on the outside, Big Show tossed Dolph Ziggler on top of them from the ring. The three WWE Superstars were knocked backwards and Barrett landed awkwardly on his arm. Barrett could be heard screaming in pain, to the point where WWE had to cut the audio because of his use of profanity.

Ziggler was also hurt when his shoulder and arm hit the broadcast table during the match. He was examined backstage and is said to be fine.

Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth were also hurt during the bout and received medical attention backstage. Rhodes hurt his elbow and right leg. Kingston appeared shaken up but was not seriously injured. R-Truth was assisted to the backstage area following the match.

Barrett Suffers Injury During Raw, Taken To Medical Facility

The official Twitter feed of the WWE Insider says Wade Barrett suffered an arm injury during the 10-Man No. 1 Contender’s Battle Royal on tonight’s Raw SuperShow.

Their statement reads: “BREAKING NEWS: Wade Barrett suffered an injury to his left arm during tonight’s Battle Royal and was rushed to a nearby medical facility.”

There was panic ringside after Big Show tossed Dolph Ziggler over the top rope onto Barrett and R-Truth, leading to the injury. Barrett was escorted to the backstage area with a splint on his left arm.

Shaquille O’Neal Says He Will Be At WrestleMania 28

Shaq Says He'll Be At WrestleMania & Is Rumored To Wrestle Big Show

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal confirmed to HollywoodLife.com over the weekend that he would be wrestling at WrestleMania 28. Shaq hosted the Cartoon Network’s Hall of Game Awards on Saturday and was asked whether he’ll be wrestling at WrestleMania. He said:

“Yes I’ll be there!”

Shaq would not say who he’ll be wrestling, but Shaq stated several months ago during a radio interview that his opponent will be the Big Show. Shaq and Big Show have crossed paths several times on WWE television in recent years – usually resulting in a physical confrontation between the two giants.

Live SD Scheduled For April, Cut Wrestler Expected To Return

— The official website of the Hampton Coliseum is advertising the Tuesday, April 10, 2012 SmackDown show as a live broadcast.

Advertised for the live audience is Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show in a No Disqualification and No Count Out Match for the World Heavyweight Championship and Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett in a Street Fight Match.

— Many people within WWE expect Wes Brisco to be offered a contract “sooner or later” since his father (Gerald Brisco) and girlfriend are employed to the company, reports the Wrestling Globe Newsletter. He was released from his developmental contract in June.

— The May 1, 2012 SmackDown taping will be held at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio.

— Tommy Dreamer turns 41 years old Tuesday while Nelson Frazier (a/k/a Viscera, Big Daddy V) turns 40.

Four Matches Announced For Raw – Elimination Chamber Preview

WWE has announced three pre-Elimination Chamber singles matches for tonight’s Raw SuperShow episode.

* WWE Champion CM Punk vs. The Miz,

* Dolph Ziggler vs. R-Truth

* Chris Jericho vs. Kofi Kingston

Jericho faced Kingston on the first two nights of the Raw brand’s live event tour of Abu Dhabi last week. Both wrestlers garnered a victory.

The show will also feature a match featuring SmackDown talent as Randy Orton will face Big Show.

Punk Appearing On Live SmackDown, Hart Family DNA Traced

— The official website of the BMO Harris Bank Center is advertising CM Punk as a special guest for the WWE SuperSmackDown Live special that will air on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 on Syfy.

Two bouts are advertised for the event as Daniel Bryan will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Big Show and Randy Orton will face Wade Barrett in a Street Fight Match.

Metro Calgary has published an article on researchers with National Geographic’s Genographic Project approaching Bret Hart for a DNA sample. Links were found from as long ago as 60,000 years and in places such as India, Iran and several European countries.

“It pretty much goes back to the beginning of time,” Hart said. “It’s not something you can easily wrap your head around. It’s pretty fascinating stuff.”

— Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine have been announced for Legends of the Ring 14, which takes place Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Monroe, New Jersey.

Syfy Promotes Live SmackDown, Natalya Posts First Blog, More

— Syfy issued a press release Friday announcing that a WWE SuperSmackDown Live special will air on Tuesday, February 21 at 8:00 p.m.

“SuperSmackDown Live will feature WWE’s biggest Superstars and Divas, including World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, Big Show, Sheamus, Mark Henry, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes and Alicia Fox,” the press release reads. “The special will encore in SmackDown’s regular time slot on Friday, February 24 at 8PM (ET/PT).”

— Natalya has posted her first blog on her newly launched website, NattieNeidhart.com. She recalls the Kids Wrestling Association, the first wrestling promotion she ever worked for.

“What kids grow up with a wresting ring their yard? Harts! Whenever there wasn’t snow, my grandfather Stu had a ring set up outside, facing his kitchen. It was the perfect place for the Hart grandkids to…wrestle!”

— NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood owner David Marquez announced Friday on Twitter that Shelly Martinez will act as the promotion’s event hostess.

He wrote, “Happy day! @NWAHollywood has come to terms with @funtimeshelly to act as Official Hostess of our events. Join us 2/12 & see what FUN is!”

Rock Advertised For Post-Mania Raw, Who Austin Wants In HOF

— The Rock is advertised for the Raw SuperShow following WrestleMania taking place April 2, 2012 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. The advertised main event is an Eight-Man Tag Team Match pitting John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton and Big Show against Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, Kane and Mark Henry.

— Raw Superstars are advertised to appear at the April 3, 2012 SmackDown taping at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. The advertised main event is a Ten-Man Tag Team Match pitting John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Big Show and Sheamus against Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, Kane, Mark Henry and The Miz.

— Steve Austin says Jake “The Snake” Roberts is worthy of the WWE Hall of Fame. He wrote the following after reading Roberts’ thoughts on entering the Hall:

“JAKE THE SNAKE ROBERTS DEFINITELY DESERVES TO BE IN THE H.O.F. AND THAT’S THE BOTTOM LINE. One of my fave all time workers.”

Update On Christian’s Return To The Ring, Orton’s Return Moved

— WWE officials are hopeful that Christian will be cleared to return from injury in time for the Royal Rumble. He has been sidelined since November 9, 2011 due to an ankle injury.

— With the cancellation of the SmackDown live event originally scheduled for this Sunday in College Station, Texas, some SmackDown talent will instead appear at the Raw live event in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Randy Orton, who was reportedly slated to return at next Monday’s Raw SuperShow in Phoenix, Arizona, has been added to the New Mexico talent line-up.

Other SmackDown talent scheduled for the show include Big Show, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Mark Henry, Epico, Primo and Rosa Mendes.

— The cable rating for last night’s Raw SuperShow will be delayed until Wednesday due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Update On A.J. Following SmackDown, Maryse Appearances

— As a result of her accidental collision with Big Show during Friday’s World Heavyweight Championship Match on SmackDown, an injured A.J. had to be carried out on a stretcher. According to WWE physician Dr. Michael Sampson, “AJ is pretty beat up, as you can imagine. She has head trauma, a cervical sprain/strain and also multiple contusions all over her body.”

— Former WWE talent Maryse is scheduled to appear at WrestleReunion in Miami, Florida during WrestleMania weekend, Legends of the Ring (June 2, 2012 at Crown Plaza Monroe, 390 Forsgate Drive, Monroe, New Jersey) and Wizard World’s Chicago Comic Con (August 10-12, 2012).

— Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson completed filming of Snitch last week. The movie is scheduled to be released in 2013.

— SmackDown Superstar Ted DiBiase appears at Outlaw Burger Company in Evansville, Indiana on January 28, 2012 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Who Will Induct Edge Into HOF?, What Happened After Raw

— Edge stated during an interview with Aftermath on The Score Monday night that if the choice is his, Christian will induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame.

WWE announced during the first hour of Monday’s Raw SuperShow that Edge would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the night before WrestleMania XXVIII.

Meanwhile, Christian and Shawn Michaels went on Twitter to congratulate Edge for his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

“A gigantic, enormous congratulations to Edge on his Hall of Fame induction. Unbelievably well deserved & I could not be happier for him!!!” wrote Michaels, a fellow WWE Hall of Famer.

Christian added, “Edge… Hall Of Fame… No one deserves it more #YouThinkYouKnowMe.”

— Following Monday’s Raw SuperShow broadcast, Dolph Ziggler cut a promo in which he claimed to have beaten John Cena. Kane then appeared, prompting Ziggler to run off. CM Punk then appeared, but was attacked by Ziggler, Kane and Jack Swagger. Big Show came out to rescue Punk, and was followed by John Cena. Big Show, Punk and Cena all took turns hitting their respective finishers on Swagger.

Title Match Set For SmackDown, J.R. Offers McIntyre Advice

— Following Daniel Bryan’s victory over Kofi Kingston on Monday’s Raw SuperShow, the World Heavyweight Champion was encountered by Big Show. Bryan offered Show another opportunity for the World Title at any time. The World’s Largest Athlete revealed that SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long granted him a No Disqualification, No Count-out World Title rematch on Friday’s SmackDown.

— On Twitter, a fan wrote to Jim Ross with a message reading “Help Push Drew McIntyre.” The WWE Hall of Famer instead offered McIntyre advice.

Ross wrote, “Drew needs to push Drew. It’s a PROCESS.”

— Brutus Beefcake, Lanny Poffo and Larry Zbyszko have been announced for Wrestlereunion, which takes place January 27-29 at Westin Los Angeles Airport 5400 West Century Blvd. Los Angeles, California.

Matches Announced For SmackDown, WWE Star Changes Brands

— Next Friday on the first SmackDown of 2012, World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan will put his title on the line against Big Show and Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes will defend his coveted gold against Booker T.

— Following an unsuccessful stint on Raw, Drew McIntyre returned to Smackdown on Friday’s show. His resolve and worth was called into question by Teddy Long in a backstage segment as the General Manager matched him up against Ezekiel Jackson. If McIntyre couldn’t win, Long said he’d have to start thinking about letting him go. While McIntyre argued with the referee about having his feet on the second rope during an attempted pinfall, Jackson swooped in and grabbed him by the tights to roll him up for the win.

After the match, McIntyre demanded that Long not count the match as a loss, claiming the referee was biased. Long would retort that he disliked losers, but especially ones who make excuses.

— Shelly Martinez posted a video fulfilling Dolph Ziggler’s request to the “Blue Meanie Dance.”

— WWE Hall of Famer Howard Finkel handled ring announcing duties at this week’s Raw live events.

Big Show Heel Turn, Shaq-WrestleMania Update, The Miz

– WWE officials have been discussing the idea of turning either Daniel Bryan Big Show heel in the coming weeks. With SmackDown’s top heel (Mark Henry) out of action and a potential match with Shauille O’Neal at WrestleMania in the works, Big Show is more likely to turn.

– The Miz is currently in a bet with Sirius XM Fantasy Sports Radio host Scott Engel on who will win the “Sirius XM Celebrity Fantasy Football League” championship. If Miz wins, he gets to bodyslam Engel. If Engel wins, he gets to put Miz in a headlock.

— As previously reported, NBA star Shaquille O’Neal appeared on Chicago’s Abe Kanan radio show on Thursday and said he’s in talks for a match against Big Show at WrestleMania.

WWE officials are understandably upset that Shaq revealed the plans early. When the NBA season was still locked out, WWE wanted to bring in Miami’s LeBron James to participate at the big event, but those plans fell through since the season is back on as of Christmas day.

Lilian Confirms Her Return, Bourne Returns, Big Show

– Lilian Garcia confirmed on Monday night that she is indeed returning to WWE. She tweeted:

“Yes! It’s true!! All happening so fast! I am returning to WWE as the SmackDown Announcer!! So excited!! And video trailer out tomro! Big wk”

– WWE tag champion Evan Bourne returned to WWE television at Monday’s RAW from Tampa. Bourne wrestled before RAW in a match taped for Superstars and was shown briefly backstage during RAW. He missed 30-days after his first violation of the company Wellness Policy.

– Big Show was reportedly not at RAW because because he was attending the American Country Awards in Las Vegas, which aired on FOX. Big Show did a comedy skit where he chokeslammed host Trace Adkins and then presented an award.

WWE Vengeance Draws Second Worst Buy Number Of All-Time

WWE’s Vengeance pay-per-view event on October 23, 2011 garnered 130,000 buys overall—70,000 in North America and 60,000 overseas.

With the exception of the disastrous December to Dismember pay-per-view event in 2006, Vengeance is the lowest-selling domestic pay-per-view event in WWE history—dating back to the infancy of pay-per-view in the 1980s.

December to Dismember, which was technically branded as an ECW event, drew 55,000 buys in North America.

Vengeance was headlined by Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena in a Last Man Standing Match, Mark Henry vs. Big Show in a World Heavyweight Championship Match, and Awesome Truth vs. CM Punk and Triple H.

How To Get The WWE Network, Big Show’s Future In WWE

– WWE has purchased the domain name “IWantWWENetwork.com” – which will be used as a where fans can contact their cable companies and urge them to support the Network. The domain currently points to the WWE website but is expected to go live in the coming weeks.

As previously reported, WWE is currently aiming to launch the WWE Network on April 1st, WrestleMania Sunday.

– Due to last week’s Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, television ratings from last week’s Impact and Smackdown, as well as Monday’s RAW, will likely be delayed a day or so.

– WWE veteran Big Show recently took part in a live chat at TheState.com to promote RAW from Columbia, S.C. Show was asked about how much longer he plans to continue wrestling and said:

“I may be 40 in February but I don’t feel 40! I’ll be doing this as long as I feel I can compete and I feel great now.”

He was also asked about whether Daniel Bryan has what it takes to be champion, Big Show responded:

“Absolutely, he’s talented and committed and that’s what it takes..plus intensity.”

Mark Henry Face Turn, WWE’s Banned Phrases, Big Show

– WWE officials have been discussing turning World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry babyface again. Henry is in the midst of the biggest push of his career and he’s gotten over huge as an unstoppable heel, but sources expect the face turn to happen sooner than later.

– During an interview with TheState.com, the Big Show spoke about not loving his ring name when it was first pitched to him by Vince McMahon back in 1999. Regarding the “Big Show” name, he said:

“It’s like any nickname you are given as a kid. You don’t really like it at first but the longer it goes on the more you become accustomed to it. I can’t even think of being called anything else now. I am The Big Show.”

– WWE has recently relaxed on their policy about “banned” terms such as “wrestler” and “wrestling.”

Main Event For Next Week’s Live SmackDown, TLC Title Match

Daniel Bryan triumphed in a Fatal 4-Way World Heavyweight Title No. 1 Contender’s Match on SmackDown to earn a shot against Mark Henry in a Steel Cage on next Tuesday’s live holiday episode.

During the opening segment of the show, Bryan emerged to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase and pin Henry, who had been knocked out cold by Big Show. However, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long informed him that because The World Strongest Man was injured and not “medically cleared” to compete, the pin was invalid.

The winner of this Tuesday’s World Heavyweight Championship Steel Cage Match will defend the strap against Big Show at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, which takes place December 18, 2011 at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.

Kevin Nash Battling Big Show, Health Update On Gerald Brisco

— Kevin Nash will battle Big Show during WWE’s two-event tour of Yokohama, Japan. He will face his longtime rival in a singles match on November 30. The following night, he teams up with The Miz to take on “The World’s Largest Athlete” and John Cena.

— Jim Ross stated Friday on Twitter that he talked to Gerald Brisco and he is feeling much better after suffering a minor stroke last month. The WWE Hall of Famer previously suffered three strokes in June 2009.

Big Show Talks Mark Henry Fued, His Career

Here are some highlights of what Big Show recently spoke about during an interview CTPost.com:

Mark Henry: “He has really come into his own and stepped up his level of intensity. When you’re in the ring with him, you feel how powerful he is. I’m not embarrassed to say Mark is stronger than I am. “When I’m in the ring with someone who has a real potential to crush my spine, it increases my intensity level. Mark makes me push myself athletically.”

Dark Match Main Events at TV Tapings: “We do a great job putting out our TV product, but for fans in specific market areas, we like to give them something extra. It’s a reward for people for showing their support and coming out.”

His Career: “I’ve never been that kind of guy to talk about great matches or bad matches. What happened yesterday is what happened yesterday. I’ve worked with some of the biggest names in this business. And yeah, I’ve been around a long time and done a lot of cool things. But I just try to stay humble and keep working hard.”

Booker T’s In-Ring Return, Henry-Big Show Update & More

– WWE announcer Booker T is expected to return to the ring very soon. The latest word is that Booker T will soon begin a feud with Intercontinental champion Cody Rhodes that will lead to a match between the two men.

Aside from Booker’s desire to wrestle again, WWE sees Booker’s return to the ring as a chance to promote their upcoming King of the Ring DVD set, which Booker is hosting.

– In an update from last night, the CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio WWE Title Match at Survivor Series is not official yet.  The storyline is that John Laurinaitis will either make the match official or scrap it before next week’s RAW.

– WWE has been teasing the follow-up to Mark Henry and Big Show collapsing the ring at Vengeance for this week’s  SmackDown, where the entire RAW roster is booked.

WWE’s website noted that Henry and Show suffered muscle and ligament strains when the ring broke on Sunday. A WWE doctor was quoted in the article, saying they should be back soon.
